Czech education system has 9 years of compulsory education. Students attend primary school for 5 years followed by 4 years at a lower secondary level or grammar school. Grammar schools provide a general education pathway for students to pursue tertiary education. Vocational schools offer 2-3 year programs for career qualifications. Tertiary education includes colleges, bachelor's degrees at university over 3 years, and 2-3 years to earn a master's degree. Kindergarten is from ages 3-6 prior to starting primary school at age 6.

grammar and secondary schools, private schools

compulsory school attendance 12 – 15)

years (age 15 – 19), general education, leaving exams – “maturita” (A level),
most students continue studies at tertiary level
• special schools : technical, economical, pedagogical, medicine…

to work but most continue studies at tertiary level
• vocational schools – 2 or 3 years age 15 – (17)18, leaving exams – job
qualifications
