This document provides an assessment of a student's coursework for an AS media studies course. It includes marks and feedback for various assignments on planning, production, and evaluation. Question 1:
Prezi – some good detail on how conventions used in production with clear
understanding shown of how mise-en-scene used to set up narrative. There is
evidence of linking product to real products to highlight argument.
Question 2:
PowToon – some detail into how characters are linked to audience but not enough
on how social groups represented. Use of theorists would have enhanced answer.
Too reliant on stereotype and not enough on actual research.
Note: your target audience is too broad and please beware of sweeping statements
regarding age and sexuality; you need to add statistical data to support your point.
You are on very dangerous ground, please re-do!!!
Question 3:
PowerPoint /SlideShare – some basic detail and research on distributor and why
they were chosen. No evidence of statistical data or where information was found.
Note: Lionsgate is one word!!!
Question 4
Word – avatar created to show typical target audience. But annotations are basic
and no evidence of primary/secondary research to support point.
Question 5:
SoundCloud –Some nice if at times basic detail on how audience was attracted. Post
added with some feedback from audience, with reflective comments added. Needs
actual feedback to be included.
Note: Remove Arsenal image, looks very unprofessional. This is a media blog not a
football blog.
Question 6:
Emaze – good succinct detail on technologies used in all parts of production. Post
shows some understanding of how effective each tool was in production. But there is
no real sense of exactly what was learnt from each technology.
Question 7:
Word/SlideShare – some nice detail on progress from prelim task with good
understanding demonstrated. Addition of screen grabs from both products included.
Good if at times basic detail on questions showing some understanding of task,
audience and genre.

analytical.
Read your work, as there are lapses in spelling, punctuation and capital letters!
