Professional Certifications/Trainings
The delivery of support services to intellectually disabled adults is a large part of the non-profit
sector across the country. Networking with other professionals in the field quickly reveals the
need for managers and staff not only to have certain licenses and training per regulation, but
also in practice. My colleagues from the government and private sectors often refer to my
actual responsibilities as very broad and applied. Personally I view this as an opportunity not
only to better serve the clients trusted to our care, but also to enforce my desire to become a
life-long learner.
