Action research is a process for teachers to systematically study and improve their own practices through a cycle of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The school division in Lakeshore, Manitoba partnered with researchers to conduct action research projects to encourage positive change from the ground up. Teachers met several times over the school year to plan, check-in, analyze data, and write reports on projects aimed at improving areas like student attendance, engagement, and community connections. The teachers found the process renewed their work and interest in data, and it helped the school division make broader improvements from teacher-led initiatives.

Influence of Innovation and Creativity on Teacher’s Performance in Kiminini S...ijtsrd
The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of innovation and creativity in teaching on teachers’ performance in Kiminini Sub County Kenya. Study adopted descriptive survey design, stratified and simple random sampling techniques were used to select respondents from target population which comprised of Principals, Deputy Principals, Head of Departments, Teachers and Teachers Service Commission Sub County director of Kiminini. Study utilized structured questionnaires for Principals, Deputy Principals, Head of Departments, Teachers and interview guide for Teachers Service Commission TSC Sub County director in collection of data. The researcher conducted pilot study in Kiminini Sub County among the respondents who were not included in the study sample. The study used descriptive statistics to analyze data with aid of Statistical Package for Social Science SPSS for Quantitative Data, while qualitative data was analyzed by thematic. The findings of the study were presented in tables and pie charts. The study established that innovation and creativity influenced teachers performance as they yielded mean above 4.00. The findings of the study were vital as they informed school administrators that innovation and creativity were adequate in measuring and influencing teacher’s performance. A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Action Research
Action research is the art of analyzing and evaluating one’s own practice with a view to improving some aspect of it.
Cockerline & Nantais (2015)
A disciplined process of inquiry conducted by and for those taking the action. The primary reason for engaging in action research is
to assist the actor [teacher] in improving or refining his or her actions.

The school division covers 7000 km2
in south-central
Manitoba.
The division is located approximately 120 km north of
Winnipeg.
Lakeshore includes 10 schools, and 1 adult learning
center.
There are 110 teachers and approximately 1150 K-12
students.
2. Participant Feedback:
“It felt like I was a brand new teacher trying new things – I was excited!”
“I feel like I don’t need to change jobs because I have renewed this one by doing this project.”
“I never realized how interested in the data and the research I was! I actually enjoyed it. I would like to do more!”
“Kids’ reflections were eye opening.”
What we learned:
Action research can encourage broader system change. Within the context of the school division
initiative, it was a successful way to move people forward from the grassroots rather than from
the top down.
The teachers reported higher levels of engagement and lower levels of frustration when we
touched base with them online during the school year.
The sophistication of the projects grew over time as teachers came back for a second project and
