Introducing VET students to the
principles of CSR is a crucial task
for teachers and educators in
preparing the youngest for their
future employment. Here are some
practical activities that can help
VET students to preparing for a job
interview with companies that devote
a lot of resources to developing and
promoting CSR actions.
Overall, the key is to raise students’
awareness on the topic in relation to
the labour market expectations.
Activity 01|
A job interview at Lavazza Museum

Support students in planning and conducting a hypothetical
job interview. Encourage class discussions on company
values and the importance of knowing the company well
when applying for a job, this will help students to better
understand the dynamics of the labour market and develop
an understanding of the expectations companies have when
recruiting workers. This collaborative approach fosters their
professional development and prepares them for future
employment.
Objectives
Through this activity, students conduct a mock interview. To do this, the students, with the help of the
teacher, delve into the values and policies of the company they would like to work for, gather all the
information needed to understand the company’s profile, objectives and strategies and its economic,
social and environmental impact.
It will challenge students to set the company’s needs and expectations and try to match them with the
skills they have or are acquiring.
1. Computers and Software.
2. Internet Access.
3. Data Collection Tools.
4. Audiovisual Equipment: videocameras, microphones, or
smarphones.
5. Office Supplies: pens, notebooks, paper, folders, and file
storage.
6. Company Reports and Policies
7. Format of job interviews
Remember to provide VET students with access to these
material resources, either in physical or digital format, and
guide them on how to utilize and leverage these resources
effectively.

Duration
Preparation (about 4 hours), simulation of the interview (2
hours or more in relation to the number of student pairs
involved).
Typology
The activity can be developed as follow:
1. Preparation phase and collection of info and data:
teamworking (5 to 10 students per group).
2. Design and evaluation of the interview text: class work
3. Interview simulation: working in pairs.
Some students non directly involved in the interview
simulation can be encharged of video recording the interview.
Others can be encharged of observing and evaluating the
performance.

Methodology / Implementation
1. Define the scenario: students shuold fix the type of job the candidate is applying for in relation
to the course of study they are attending (barista, receptionist, guide, technician, etc.)
2. Define the scope: students should identify the company’s boundaries, including the types
of operations and activities, its communication strategy and channel; its visual identity, its
activities at local, regional, national and international level.
3. Identify sustainability issues: students should research and identify the key sustainability
issues that are relevant to the company. This might include issues related to greenhouse gas
emissions, waste reduction, water conservation, or social responsibility.
4. Gather data: students should collect data on the company’s performance in each of the
identified sustainability areas.
5. Analyze the data: students should analyze the data to identify the values and profile required.
In doing this they should fix the main company’s values.
6. Draft the text for the interview. Students should write the hyphotetical questions a recruiter
could ask to the candidate. Each student involved shuold also prepare a presentation of
herself/himself.
7. Simulation of the interview: once the text is drafted, students should play the interview in
pairs.
8. Record of the interview: some of the students should record it so that it will be available for a
consecutive collective evaluation.
The same activity can be done selecting different companies and roles. In the following pages, just as an
example, we suggest some companies selected within the B Corporation list.

Bower is active in the sector of Mobile Application with an innovative App aimed to increase sorting and
recycling of household packaging.
Bower App works as follow. People who are using the App scan and sort the packages at home, use their
existing recycling location and finally recycle and get a reward with points or money to withdraw to their
bank account, donate to a charity, or get discounts on future purchases.
The company is certified since June 2019.

The Madeira Wine Company owns some of the most important brands within the wine trade, including
Blandy’s Madeira, Cossart Gordon, Miles Madeira, and its table wine brand, Atlantis. The company is
owned by the Blandy family, a family with over 210 years of experience in fine wine making. The family has
played a leading role in the development of Madeira wine throughout its long history and members of the
family continue to live in Madeira and work in the group, maintaining a tradition that goes back to 1811.

Orimpex is a pioneering, design-to-delivery apparel manufacturer that specializes in organic cotton,
responsibly sourced materials, sustainable practices, and ethical production. All processes, from
fabric to the final product, are carried out in-house by the experienced and qualified Orimpex team.
With a monthly capacity of 50,000 units in the company’s certified factory, Orimpex Textiles provide
its customers full transparency and accountability in their supply chains.
Orimpex started its journey in İzmir, known for its long, soft, high-quality organic cotton fibers. The
company’s “only organic cotton” motto, which its had since the very first day in 2007, has evolved
and planted the seeds of the company vision today: to become a leading textile manufacturer in
making a positive impact on climate, soil health, water, biodiversity, and society.
The company is certified since February 2023.

Ways Tours is an In-Destination Management Company of northern Italy providing a wide range of
services including day touring, activities, transportation & local experiences.
The company’s hystory began in Verona, in 2007. The founders based their business idea on
the following goals: they wanted to let people discover their city in a new, more dynamic, more
interactive and more authentic way, different from the classic guided visits.
They decided to involve the locals and professionals, who know the secrets and wonders of the city
and wanted to share them with guests coming from all over the world. The tour operator’s first name
was Veronality and in a few years it evolved from a group of a few friends to a large team of experts
working in four different destinations in northern Italy.
The company is certified since November 2022.

Practical activities for the classroom A job interview CSR2VET project Introducing VET students to the principles of CSR is a crucial task for teachers and educators in preparing the youngest for their future employment. Here are some practical activities that can help VET students to preparing for a job interview with companies that devote a lot of resources to developing and promoting CSR actions. Overall, the key is to raise students’ awareness on the topic in relation to the labour market expectations.
  • 2. Activity 01| A job interview at Lavazza Museum 2 Support students in planning and conducting a hypothetical job interview. Encourage class discussions on company values and the importance of knowing the company well when applying for a job, this will help students to better understand the dynamics of the labour market and develop an understanding of the expectations companies have when recruiting workers. This collaborative approach fosters their professional development and prepares them for future employment. Objectives Through this activity, students conduct a mock interview. To do this, the students, with the help of the teacher, delve into the values and policies of the company they would like to work for, gather all the information needed to understand the company’s profile, objectives and strategies and its economic, social and environmental impact. It will challenge students to set the company’s needs and expectations and try to match them with the skills they have or are acquiring.

Office Supplies: pens, notebooks, paper, folders, and file storage. 6. Company Reports and Policies 7. Format of job interviews Remember to provide VET students with access to these material resources, either in physical or digital format, and guide them on how to utilize and leverage these resources effectively. Resources 3 Duration Preparation (about 4 hours), simulation of the interview (2 hours or more in relation to the number of student pairs involved). Typology The activity can be developed as follow: 1. Preparation phase and collection of info and data: teamworking (5 to 10 students per group). 2. Design and evaluation of the interview text: class work 3. Interview simulation: working in pairs. Some students non directly involved in the interview simulation can be encharged of video recording the interview. Others can be encharged of observing and evaluating the performance. Tipology and duration 1. Research Skills 2. Critical Thinking and Analysis 3. Communication and Presentation Skills 4. Active Listening and Respectful Engagement 5. Teamwork and Collaboration 6. Confidence Building 7. Time Management 8. Reflection and Self-Evaluation Learning outcome
  • 4. Methodology / Implementation 1. Define the scenario: students shuold fix the type of job the candidate is applying for in relation to the course of study they are attending (barista, receptionist, guide, technician, etc.) 2. Define the scope: students should identify the company’s boundaries, including the types of operations and activities, its communication strategy and channel; its visual identity, its activities at local, regional, national and international level. 3. Identify sustainability issues: students should research and identify the key sustainability issues that are relevant to the company. This might include issues related to greenhouse gas emissions, waste reduction, water conservation, or social responsibility. 4. Gather data: students should collect data on the company’s performance in each of the identified sustainability areas. 5. Analyze the data: students should analyze the data to identify the values and profile required. In doing this they should fix the main company’s values. 6. Draft the text for the interview. Students should write the hyphotetical questions a recruiter could ask to the candidate. Each student involved shuold also prepare a presentation of herself/himself. 7. Simulation of the interview: once the text is drafted, students should play the interview in pairs. 8. Record of the interview: some of the students should record it so that it will be available for a consecutive collective evaluation. The same activity can be done selecting different companies and roles. In the following pages, just as an example, we suggest some companies selected within the B Corporation list. 4

People who are using the App scan and sort the packages at home, use their existing recycling location and finally recycle and get a reward with points or money to withdraw to their bank account, donate to a charity, or get discounts on future purchases.   • 6. The Madeira Wine Company owns some of the most important brands within the wine trade, including Blandy’s Madeira, Cossart Gordon, Miles Madeira, and its table wine brand, Atlantis. The company is owned by the Blandy family, a family with over 210 years of experience in fine wine making. The family has played a leading role in the development of Madeira wine throughout its long history and members of the family continue to live in Madeira and work in the group, maintaining a tradition that goes back to 1811. With a monthly capacity of 50,000 units in the company’s certified factory, Orimpex Textiles provide its customers full transparency and accountability in their supply chains. Orimpex started its journey in İzmir, known for its long, soft, high-quality organic cotton fibers. The company’s “only organic cotton” motto, which its had since the very first day in 2007, has evolved and planted the seeds of the company vision today: to become a leading textile manufacturer in making a positive impact on climate, soil health, water, biodiversity, and society. The company is certified since February 2023.
  • 8. 8 Going further A job interview at Ways Ways Tours is an In-Destination Management Company of northern Italy providing a wide range of services including day touring, activities, transportation & local experiences. The company’s hystory began in Verona, in 2007. The founders based their business idea on the following goals: they wanted to let people discover their city in a new, more dynamic, more interactive and more authentic way, different from the classic guided visits. They decided to involve the locals and professionals, who know the secrets and wonders of the city and wanted to share them with guests coming from all over the world. The tour operator’s first name was Veronality and in a few years it evolved from a group of a few friends to a large team of experts working in four different destinations in northern Italy. The company is certified since November 2022.
