To Kill A Mockingbird Atticus Quotes
Heavenly Treasures Atticus Finch, one of the main characters in To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee,
displays many positive personality traits. A widower and gentle father of two children, Scout and Jem,
Atticus not only treats his family with fairness, but his friends and neighbors as well. An African
American man in their community has been accused of a rape crime. Atticus feels strongly that the
man s innocence will prevail. Since Atticus is a lawyer, he decides he must do the right thing. He must
defend the accused. Known by many as a kind, impartial, and respectful man, Atticus earns a good
name in his small community. No matter the person, Atticus always treated people with kindness. A
neighbor of the Finchs, Mrs. Dubose, spoke harshly to Atticus as well as to his children, Jem and
Scout. Instead of getting frustrated at Mrs. Dubose, he understood that she suffered from illness.
Therefore, he chose to treat her with kindness. Easy does it, son, Atticus would say. She s an old lady
and she s ill. You just hold your head high and be a gentleman. Whatever she says to you, it s your job
not to let her make you mad. (133) Atticus rarely spoke in a harsh tone. He remained kind, even
during the hard times, because he deeply cared for others. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Scout said that she wanted to try and see their shut in neighbor, Boo Radley, Atticus
discouraged her. He was impartial and respected that the Radleys, along with everyone else, deserve
their privacy. At another time, Scout had a conversation with her Uncle Jack, after she and Francis
quarreled. She told her Uncle Jack that he wasn t fair like Atticus. Well, in the first place, you never
stop to gimme a chance to tell you my side of it you just lit right into me. When Jem an I fuss Atticus

Examples Of Peer Relationships In Mean Girls
In the film Mean Girls there were many types of peer relationships expressed. Friendships are
described as a reciprocal liking, trust, and loyalty between all participating dyadic parties. An example
in the film is the relationship that Damian and Janis hold because they are loyal to each other and the
liking is mutual. Peer acceptance is to the degree one is liked by their peers. In the film Aaron Samuels
is very much liked by his peers. Perceived popular is a child that is considered popular based on their
peers perceptions. Regina George is a prime example of teenage girl perceived as popular. When
students described Regina George in the film these type of comments were made, Regina George is
flawless , One time she punched me in the faced. It was awesome. , and she always looks fierce.
Cliques are polyadic social groups that are voluntary. A main clique in the movie is The Plastics which
consists of Regina George, Gretchen Wieners, and Karen Smith. These forms of peer relationships are
a lot more complex than just a group of friends, these relationships of dynamic in early adolescence.
Friendship
Regina George s friend group is comprised of Karen and Gretchen. Their friendship is difficult at
times. They share secrets among each other, for example the burn book is a secret between the girls.
When Cady is included into the friend group she is then entrusted with the group s secrets. This group
of Plastics are friends by choice and always ask for each other s

Raphael Sanzio Essay
Raphael Sanzio
Raphael was one of the most important artists of the Italian Renaissance. Raphael painted and
designed many brilliant pieces of work and the stanzas inside the Vatican. He was a master at such
necessities of modern art such as depth and perspective and the use of light and shadow, and was the
turning point styles of paintings like the use of Madonnas in paintings. Through his short life, Raphael
would make some of the most awe inspiring, beautiful, and influential works of art during the Italian
Renaissance.
Raphael whose full name was Raphael Sanzio, (also known as Raphael Sanzi), was born on April 6th,
1483. He was born in the town of Urbino, Italy, where he would spend his childhood life until he was
11 years old. His ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Raphael created The Marriage of the Virgin before he was even 21 years old, and he was still Perugino
s apprentice. Even then, Raphael had a great understanding of depth and perspective, which he shows
well in The Marriage of the Virgin. In that piece, the background is beautifully drawn, and although
the background stands out, you can still notice the people in the foreground without being distracted
by the background. These people are shown having emotions, and instead of being motionless, some
characters are making very noticeable actions and a lot of movement, so the people do not appear
lifeless. Instead, they appear sort of realistic.
In 1504, Raphael moved to Florence. There, in Florence, some of the Italian Renaissance s biggest
names lived and worked in Florence. In Florence, Raphael studied Michelangelo s use of anatomy and
Leonardo da Vinci s use of light and shadow. He met such big names in Florence such as
Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Fra Bartolommeo, who was another painter that did such works as The
Holy Family. It was in Florence that Raphael made a name for himself as an artist.
One style of painting Raphael favored all throughout his career was that of creating Madonnas over
his short life; those are what made Raphael famous in Florence. The way Raphael created his
Madonnas, Madonna meaning Mary, the mother of Jesus, portray Mary as a loving, caring human
woman. Many other artists before Raphael portrayed Mary as an

Romanticism And The Romantic Period
Texts are a product of their literary nature and their context. This certainly applies to the Romantic
Movement in Britain. The 1830s through to 1850s is when American literature emerged. After the
American Independence War that ended in a victory over England in 1812, a new confidence and
sense of national identity emerged. American writers reflected and wrote about the anxieties.
Numerous writers and artists in the early 19th Century placed a special emphasis on the importance of
Americans natural landscape for the development of national character. Americans became interested
in literature centred on urban and natural life.
Romanticism involves a belief general importance of the individual, the personal and the subjective.
Transcendentalism movement inspired writers such as Washington Irving s Legend of Sleepy Hollow,
and The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe other works emphasised the creative powers of the individual
mind, value for nature, and the stultifying effects of institutions. The American Renaissance arose with
the Romantic Movement. Writers such as William Shakespeare s Macbeth and Matthias Grünewald s
artwork Crucifixion Isenheim Altarpiece dramatized a culture played by poverty and tension with the
emergence of a new democracy. The Neoclassical movement was centred during the late 17th Century
and 18th Century. Neoclassical artworks such as Pity by William Blake imitates the style of the
Romans and Greeks. This period was the start of modern middle class and traditional afternoon tea.
People would group around to debate politics and other ideas of enlightenment. Characteristics of
writing focused on peoples appearance rather than feelings or intentions. These movements have some
similar aspects to each other, which assisted with the creation of Legend of Sleepy Hollow by
Washington Irving.
Macbeth by William Shakespeare is a well known poem and play. Macbeth is one of gothic literature
similarly to Sleepy Hollow because of the use of Witches, ghosts, predictions and unnatural
occurrences throughout the poem. In the 16th century, witches were seen as an unexplainable real
supernatural phenomenon that sparked great fear throughout the world. The Supernatural aspect gives
the audience an insight

Sappho Poem Analysis
Sappho was one of the most important poetess of her time, if not the most important of all. To talk
about Sappho is to summon intense feelings related to love and eroticism. All who enjoy her poetry
know it. Sappho is a Greek poet of antiquity who lived a life of almost legend, on the island of Lesbos
which is near the Turkish coast. In the city of Mytilene she ran a school for aristocratic girls; in this
environment combined pedagogy with sensuality, and in it appeared her poetry. With respect to her
love life many anecdotal and trivial things have been commented on.
To us, for more than two thousand years, it pleases us to evoke it through its verses, conceived from
the observation of the human nature, with absence of moral artifices. It is possible that Sappho,
suffered more than a displeasure and misunderstanding.
The sincere love expressed in her words and the generosity with which she opens her soul, have
moved through the centuries. In addition to the pleasure of her beauty, her words mobilize reflections
about our own affective behavior. Although our life should be a rich adventure in search of affection,
it conjures of loneliness and vindication of love, not infrequently we retreat caresses, we are ashamed
of our natural inclinations, we hide our tears because the context disqualifies and condemn love
because it does not conform to certain rules. We oppose the concrete to the abstract, as if abstract
thinking were a weakness. And, what is usually more

impact the setting has on the development of the plot in other words, discuss the ways the story s
setting impacts the events of the novel. The book begins in Lodz, Poland before the Germans invade.
The Germans invaded in September 1939. In May 1940, they establish the ghetto. The once lively
Lodz becomes dark and dismal. Full of starving Jews and malicious Nazis. Riza and her brother s then

We must learn from these horrors. We must learn when people remain silent while others are
persecuted (260). I think this passage is very important to the book and the whole message it states. I
have read Holocaust memoirs in the past and they all say that we cannot forget this tragedy. Because if
we do, it may happen again to another group of people.
This is a very important message about society because it is extremely imperative that a mass
genocide like the Holocaust doesn t happen again. There are many genocides that have happened in
the world and we cannot let ourselves turn our backs or look the other way if something like the
Holocaust occurs again. This a message everyone should know and apply to their lives. So that they
know not to turn their backs on a group of people being persecuted.

Canadian Identity Essay
So many different important facts have contributed to our Canadian identity. But, in my Paragraph I m
going to show some of the most important things that happened like the SS.St Louis, the Underground
railray, Harriet Tubman, and Chinese immigrants.First,I think that the SS. St Louis contributes to our
Canadian identity because it taught Canada to be welcoming and including. Before when Canada didn
t let people from the SS.ST louis come into Canada, they realized that they were wrong, so know in
our day we are more welcome and let immigrants move to Canada. If I was an immigrant and I needed
somewhere to live I would be so thankful that Canada is welcoming know and it s because of that.

Harriet showed Canada and the whole world that girls can do everything that boys can do and showed
Canada to give people a chance. Canada was the first country to stop slavery, I think it s mostly
because of Harriet. I think It s mostly because of her because it showed how hard they worked to be
free and maybe before they thought of them as items, but when they saw them suffer and how Harriet
worked and put others in front of her and she showed that Canada that slaves are not items they are
human beings. Also,I think that the underground railway contributed to Canada s identity because it
showed that slaves aren t an object and can find a way to escape how bad their lives were. The
underground railway also showed Canada to stop abusing people just because they don t look the
same and that you should try and help them to stop slavery around the world. It also showed that
slaves were people too and wanted to live free and not to be whipped and they should live in their own
houses and have their own properties and Canada was the first country to stop

Difference Between The Adlerian Approach And...
The main difference between the Adlerian approach and the Psychoanalytic approach deals with the
stance the therapist takes. In the Psychoanalytic approach , the therapist sits back and gives the client
the right to express himself without any resistance. Since transference is a big issue with this
approach, and the client can develop projections toward the therapist(Corey, 2013, pg. 481), so it is
important for the therapist to remain neutral. Transference interpretation helps our clients by enabling
them to see broad patterns of fantasies, interactions and object relations that they had never put
together before(Howes, 2010). This approach goes against the philosophy of counseling because the
therapist take a back seat, while the client takes the wheel and counseling should be more about an
integrative approach. On the other hand the Psychoanalytic approach is based on mutual respect and
the importance of goals. Focus is on identifying, exploring and disclosing mistaken goals and faulty
assumptions within the persons lifestyle(Corey, 2013, pg. 481), and this approach shows the
importance of a therapist who uses more guidance to identify those objectives. The main differences
between Existential and Person Centered approach would have to be that the Existential approach
focuses on client reflecting on their life while the Person Centered approach shows us that people are
self directed and don t necessarily needs a counselor to make positive changes in order to achieve

Julius Caesar as the Noblest Roman of Them All Essay
Julius Caesar as the Noblest Roman of Them All
In William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar the victorious Mark Antony calls his rival Brutus, the noblest
Roman of them all . At the start of the play we witnessed Cassius persuade Brutus to join a conspiracy
to kill Caesar.
In my essay I intend to discuss four main characters in order to prove or disapprove Mark Antony s
statement.
The play starts off with Julius Caesar entering Rome after his victory in the civil war against Pompey.
Some of the conspirators feel that Caesar has become too powerful so they conceive a plan to kill him.
A conspirator named Cassius throws flattering letters through the loyal Brutus s window saying that he

Philippi. To tell thee that thou shalt see me at Philippi . Philippi was where Brutus and Cassius would

I am now going to discuss Cassius. I would say that Cassius was a very devious and selfish man.
Cassius approached Brutus in act 1, to tell him that he felt that Caesar was becoming too powerful
Why man he doth bestride the narrow world like a colossus, and we petty men walk under his huge
legs Cassius then sent flattering letters through Brutus window saying that he would be a better
emperor than Caesar. On night Brutus could not sleep, he justifies the idea of killing Caesar to
himself. That same night all of the conspirators arrive at Brutus house and all decide to kill Caesar at
the Senate house the following day. Cassius and Brutus disagree over killing Mark Antony but then
they both decide not to. They also have an argument later in act 4 because Brutus accuses Cassius of
dishonestly handling money, finally their quarrel was resolved and Brutus told Cassius that part of his

The butterfly effect is written and directed by Eric Bress and J.Mackye Gruber the film has a pretty

Cameron Bright, William Lee Scott, Ethan Suplee and Logan Lerman. The movie is about Evan
Treborn played by Ashton Kutcher, now, when he was younger he deled with abuse, drama, and
suffered a lot of black outs and it follows when he is 7 years old and when he is 13 years old and then
when you see him in the present day. During his life a lot of things ended up going wrong, but there

Then you have Tommy Miller, played by William Lee Scott, he is absolutely insane, he is pretty much

transformation as well, but the majority of the movie he is evil and sinister as he can be, and he doesn
t really like Evan because he is dating her sister. And Evan`s mom, Melora Walters as Magnolia, and
she is this kind of pushy mother as her son is always getting involved in this serious bad situation and
she always put trough as a single mother to be able to keep up with her son and keeping him out of all
the trouble. And then we have Eric Stoltz that plays Kayleigh`s and Tommy`s father, he is kind of this
weird, crippy paedophile father and he treats a lot of distraction towards the second half of the film.
And then you have Ethan Suplee, who keeps on traveling back in time, And if Lenny is not his friend
(Evan`s), then Ethan Suplee is and he`s always got someone to kind of fall back to every dramatic
moment in his life that he keeps going back. Ethen Suplee is a little bit crazy in this movie. And last
but not least Logan Lerman when Evan is 7 years old. A lot of crazy stuff that happen in Evan s life is
that he goes a lot back when he was a kid to all the drama and abuse. The cinematographic of this film

The Theory Of Leonardo Da Vinci s Multiple Intelligence...
Gardner s Multiple Intelligence theory challenged traditional beliefs in the field of education and
cognitive science. He is a psychologist professor at Harvard University s Graduate School of
Education. According to a traditional definition, intelligence is a uniform cognitive capacity people are
born with. Simply put, intelligence is the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills. Gardner s
theory of Multiple Intelligences proposes that all human beings possess each of the nine intelligences
in varying amounts. In addition, he claims that these intelligences are located in different parts of the
brain which can work together or independent of each other, and that the multiple intelligences can be
strengthened or weakened depending how you treat each intelligence. The nine intelligences are as
follows:
Visual/Spatial People who are strong visually/spatially learn best when they are given material that is
organized spatially. They like to have physical models or to see what is being taught to understand.
They enjoy anything eye catching like charts, graphs, maps, tables, illustrations, art, or puzzles. A man
that immediately comes to mind that shows exceptional visual/spatial intelligence is Leonardo Da
Vinci (1452 1519), who not only was a great artist who created pieces such as the Mona Lisa and The
Last Supper, but also studied the anatomy of the human body. He sketched detailed diagrams of parts
of the body such as the brain, parts of the skeleton, and even

Questions and Answers on Criminal Procedure
1. Does the information included in the warrant application amount to Probable Cause? Why or why
not? Probably not. This would be defined as an anticipatory search warrant, but the information
provided by the confidential informant includes statements that are mostly vague: Dory was planning
to sell Golden Starfish within an open ended date, she probably will deliver the stolen merchandise at
some point, and she usually rents a room at the specific hotel named. None of this qualifies as reliable
recent information as to criminal activity; as for proposed or future criminal activity, there are not
sufficient facts here to indicate an event that would be sufficient to qualify as a triggering condition .
According to the US Supreme Court s decision in U.S. v Grubbs (2006), what is required in an
anticipatory search warrant is a triggering condition that would permit the execution of the warrant on
the fair probability that contraband would be discovered if the search were executed no such condition
appears to be included here, when the best that is offered for a triggering condition is that Dory has
rented a room. The fact that the detective overheard mention of the Golden Starfish through the door is
irrelevant to the establishment of probable cause for the warrant, though. 2. Of what significance, if
any, is the two week period for serving the warrant? Ordinarily a search warrant cannot be served if
stale information is included in the search warrant

Cultural Differences
The Theory of Cultural Differences
The theory of cultural differences revolves around 7 concepts, Individual and Collective Orientation,
High and Low Context Cultures, Power distance, Masculine and Feminine Cultures, High Ambiguity
Tolerant and Low Ambiguity Tolerant Cultures, Long and Short Term Orientation, and Indulgence and
restraints.
Individual Cultures Revolves around the Belief that one must watch out for themselves as Individual
cultures have the High values of self, such as getting a new promotion and not caring for the other, or
Winning boxing match. Collectivist cultures Share the belief that team work is more important than
just one individual. Collective cultures show that they work better in a group such as, excavating in
search of fossils as a team, or Sparring during boxing training to improve each other s skills.
High Context Culture Use body language, Clothing items which one my wear, and emotions into the
equation of communication. Meaning that High context cultures express more human communication
that is not verbal or written. Low context cultures use less visuals and are more direct by saying what
they mean in a situation. For example, someone writing someone a letter or an email, as these forms of
communication involve no physical contact and only express on what is written or typed.
High Power distance culture is a form hierarchy where people are ranked from the strongest and most
powerful being on the top and the weakest and least powerful being at the bottom. An example is the
military or in family household. Low power distance culture prefer equality over pyramid type culture.
An example of low power distance culture is being part of a club where there is no competition and
everybody is equal for example an alcoholic anonymous meet.
Masculine culture traits are perceived to be alpha, dominance, High testosterone, Strong, and Burt
Reynolds. An example of Masculine culture is when a business measures success by the company s
profits. Feminine culture promotes, relationships time over money and rewards based on equality than
equity. An example of a feminine culture is having only a part time job to have more time for your
hobbies or family.
High Ambiguity culture are more confident

The Dualistic Narrative In Alison Bechdel s Fun Home
The Dualistic Narrative in Fun Home
Alison Bechdel s Fun Home uses intellectually developed language against cartoon images that are
comparatively minimal to convey what her life was like as a child and young adult as she coped with
her father s suicide. By using both of these narrative forms, Bechdel essentially gives herself two
different voices in the novel: her childhood self who is the main character of the book and her current
self who is the author. This is meaningful because since the novel is a memoir, the author s voice is a
reflection of what she has become as a result of the events of her childhood. That contrast between
young Alison and older, wiser Alison adds a new dimension to the story as the reader begins to notice

As an adult, she can reflect back and see that Bruce did indeed fly too close to the sun and depict that
using metaphor. But as the child in those images, she is a carefree toddler playing with her father,
ignorant to what he has done and what he will do in the future.
Additionally, Bechdel uses contrast between text and imagery to convey secrets that were hidden at
the time of her childhood but have since been revealed. In the panel at the top of page 17, the Bechdel
family is sitting at church. Each of the family members seems bored and lackluster. In the text directly
inside the panel, however, Bechdel writes but would an ideal husband and father have sex with
teenage boys? (17). This is a shocking moment to the reader since it is the first time that Bechdel
mentions her father s homosexuality, let alone potential pedophilia. But Alison and her brothers were
unaware of this at the moment that is being depicted in this panel. Also, since they are in a church, it is
crucial to note Bruce s relative despondence compared to his children s. Perhaps being in a church
makes him feel guilty or sinful about the secrets that are described in the text box of that same panel.
This subtle difference in emotion is another interesting juxtaposition within this panel between he who
knows the secret being revealed and he who does not.
Another instance in the novel when Bechdel

What Was The Fall Of The Soviet Union
Fall of Soviet Union
In December of 1991, the Soviet Union separated into fifteen distinctive countries. Its collapse was
enthusiastically greeted by the west as a triumph for freedom. This is a victory of democracy over
totalitarianism. The US celebrated as its dreadful enemy defeated, thereafter ending the Cold War,
which had fought between two superpowers, America and Soviet Union, since the end of World War
II. Cory Booker says, If you look at great human civilizations, from the Roman Empire to the Soviet
Union, you will see that most do not fail simply due to external threats but because of internal
weakness, corruption, or a failure to manifest the values and ideals they espouse . In reality, the
disintegration of the Soviet Union ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eventually, the planning of Communism, which the Soviet sought to instill in its population, never
established, and eventually all the influence it had originally carried vanished.
By the time of the 1985, Mikhail Gorbachev take over control of Soviet Union. He was the Soviet
Union s last leader. This split the scientific community up into factions and promoted conflict. It
permitted him to intervene and take sides whenever deemed necessary (Martin McCauley. The Rise
and Fall of the Soviet Union). The country was in a state of serious inactivity, with severe economic
and political dispute, which were required to be fix and conquered. Knowing this deep in mind,
Gorbachev initiated a policy of reform. First ,he proposed a policy of freedom of speech. Next, he
started a plan of economic reform known as perestroika, rebuilding. However, Gorbachev did not
noticed that by offering people complete freedom of speech, he was unintentionally released emotions
and political feelings that had been hold up for decades. Also, it seemed to be exceedingly powerful
when brought out into the open. Moreover, his policy of economic reform did not have the obvious
results he had anticipated for and had publicly conjectured. The Soviet people eventually utilized their
recently granted freedom of speech to criticize Gorbachev for his deficiency to boost the economy.
The decentralization of the Soviet Union began on the border,

My Father Of The Colonoscopy
In the year 2012, my father in law was having some pain in his side and abdomen, but because the
pain would come and go, he ignored it and blamed it on his career as a mechanic which required
strenuous manual labor. As time went on, the pain continued to worsen, but he put off any tests
because he was about to turn 50 and knew he would be going in for a checkup at that time. In 2013 he
went in for his routine colonoscopy, but we could have never prepared ourselves for how this test was
about to affect all of our lives. My father in law was nervous the day of the colonoscopy because the
pain in his stomach had worsened when he had to flush out his system before the test could be
completed. The doctors assured him that this was normal for most everybody who had to go through
this process, and they seemed very optimistic about the way the results would turn out. Once the
procedure was complete, the doctors informed us that everything had gone well, but they did find
multiple masses in his colon that they had taken samples of and had sent to pathology to have tested.
We were instructed not to worry since this could be nothing, and they would contact us as soon as they
had the results. About a week later we received the good news that his tests had come back negative,
and that he was healthy. We all went along with our lives until nine days later when my mother in law
received a voice mail stating that they needed to call the doctors back immediately. They called the

How Effectively Does the Poet Convey Aspects of Change in...
How effectively does the poet convey aspects of change in Funeral Blues ?
Funeral Blues by W. H. Auden is a poem is about death and grief. It was originally written as a
satirical poem about the death of a politician, though was later edited to become solemn. The poet
effectively conveys aspects of change, such as the human condition in relation to the experience of
loss. This is conveyed through tone, metaphors, imagery and anaphora.
The aspect of the human condition and our response to loss is expressed through the tone of the poem.
The tone is an example of how of how a person would react and treat the world around when they lose
someone. An imperative tone is created through the diction of verbs. In the first stanza, the ... Show

This shows how much the narrator has lost as they have indicated that they have not relied on anyone
or anything else. In the last stanza, the narrator orders that the metaphysical be taken away. The verbal
commands, such as dismantle and sweep , have negative connotations to them and therefore assert
how redundant life now seems for the person.
Hyperbole and personification is used to indicate how difficult it can be to come to terms with loss
and how alone one can feel. The hyperbolic orders in stanza four to take away the features of space
and earth, such as pack up the moon... , which is impossible, is indicative that the narrator has not yet
come to terms with the change. The absence of the objects producing light, such as the stars... , which
are expressed through the visual imagery creates a sense of increasing darkness which is parallel to the
absence and loneliness experienced by the narrator. The personification of the aeroplanes in stanza
two is an aural declaration of how the narrator is feeling. Moaning suggests the pain and agony of
which the narrator is experiencing.
Funeral Blues by W.H. Auden effectively uses a range of techniques such as tone, imagery, metaphors
and amphora to creatively express the feeling of loss inevitably experienced by humans due to change.
The author also expresses a

Examples Of Group Dynamics In 12 Angry Men
It s Possible : How Group Dynamics Affect their Outcomes
As the courtroom drama film 12 Angry Men celebrates its 60th anniversary, there is no doubt to why it
remains a cinematic classic. Its strategic cinematography, accurate perceptions of human character,
and topical issues creates an exposure of group dynamics that is still relevant today. As we see Henry
Fonda s character, Juror #8, swing the verdict of a trial away from an 11 1 vote against the defendant
to a consensus for his freedom, many different elements of organizational behaviour are displayed.
How the group forms, acts, and interacts as time progresses are attributed to a multitude of internal
and external factors. Despite the simplicity of setting and premise, 12 Angry Men remains a beloved
film. It s authenticity of human behaviour, particularly in relation to conformity, team interaction, and
leadership, resonates with its audience as it tries to, as Juror #3 would say, talk about facts. Ultimately,
12 Angry Men s cinematographic balance of realism and sentimentalism in its story aptly summate the
struggles of the characters as they overcome the obstacles of group conflicts while addressing their
own moral qualms.
There are two important group development stages that occur in 12 Angry Men. The movie s
characters and tone is set during the forming stage, where the characters are first introduced into the
team. During this stage, the members ask themselves Can my needs be met at the same time that I
contribute to the group? Juror #7 makes his needs clear when he states we can get all get out of here
pretty quick...I happen to have tickets to that ball game tonight . By informing the group that he has
motivation to leave, he is likewise inferring that his commitment to the group will be low. Similarly in
this stage, the members learn more about each other and their personalities. Juror #3 sets himself as a
self titled experienced and pragmatic juror, telling others that I ve sat on many juries...I d slap those
tough kids down before they start any trouble. Consequently, as the jurors reveal more about each
other, the characters develop a solid inference on each other s individual personalities, and thus can
better predict the group s

The books and materials used in data collection acted as the source of information for writing the
paper. Some of the books related the Indian culture to the different aspects of cultural materialism.
(Sen 2004) states an outline on the history of the Indian culture. It describes the Indian culture as a
great adversity that has even assimilated children in the great diversity. (Prakash 2005) states the
interrelationship between cultural materialism in relationship to the Indian culture. Cultural
materialism is made into three layers that include structure, infrastructure, and superstructure. The
book presents how a change in one of the factor influences the other. (Kasbekar 2006) gives a

population in the country (Owell and Paris 2011). The use of the kings as the head of the tribes was

Through the long periods of the Indian domination by the British and the Mughals, their political and
social structure remained the same. Some of the areas in the country were administered by the
conquerors and maintained a good relationship with the colonial master while other resisted the rule
imposed on them by the colonial master. The social structure, infrastructure and superstructure relates

The social structure of the Indian culture is characterized by the caste system. The origin of the caster
system is traced to the times of Basham to the 16th century, during the times the Portuguese came to
India and found the communities in the country divided into various groups (Ali 2006). The groups
were called castes that meant tribes or clans. Caste is the system of groups within a class that are
endogamous, commensal, and craft exclusive. The members of a particular caste system marries only

Tangibles versus intangibles, which ones bear a higher...
Tangibles versus intangibles, which ones bear a higher value today?
Since the first human economic relations, tangible goods, those one can feel and touch, were playing a
predominant role as objects of trade. Over time, with the course of history, intangible aspects of
products (those one cannot touch or feel) such as personal attachment attributes, place of goods origin,
appearance and visual design, aesthetic, status or social properties rose sharply. A developed,
prosperous society is characterized by a high education level, advanced technological development,
increased social awareness and a strengthening portion of services, being vivid examples of intangible
parts of the economy (Thrassou Vrontis, 2009). Such transformation clearly ... Show more content on

The intangible value of a product is largely subjective, therefore is linked to private consumers
perception. Bearing that in mind, the marketers focus their effort on creating a desired image in the
shoppers minds, surrounding the conventional products with extra benefits in the form of intangibles
such as extended consumer service, recognizable design and social features (Thrassou Vrontis, 2009).
A combination of such features form different brands. So, brands represent the intangible value added
to the product. According to an empirical research, conducted amongst 472 Australian students the
prior knowledge of preferred brands (brand awareness) is an important part of consumers decision
making process when purchasing a product. Specifically, 85.5% of subjects chose the familiar brand
over others available. Additionally, the study has shown that the choice is made substantially faster
(9.8 seconds against 15.1 given the experiment conditions) (Macdonald Sharp, 2000). Clearly, a
product s brand name, being a classical value of an intangible nature appeared to have played a heavy
role in a perceived value of the sample group. Though brands facilitated the process of choice, the
final purchase decision belonged to the end buyers.
Contrary to the above stated argument, another study takes a closer look at the role of a group of non
functional product s attributes, may lead to a slightly different conclusion. The research was

GMO Argument Essay
GMO crops have been a controversial topic for many years, whether if they are morally right or if they
are dangerous for consumption. Although GMO s are typically frowned upon in developed countries,
they have potentially life saving capabilities and should be used in underdeveloped or developing
locations throughout the world, like Africa, to support their growing economies and populations. To
start, a genetically modified organism (GMO) or crop, is an organism that has had its genetic makeup
or material altered through means of genetic engineering. There are many differentiating opinions of
GMOs and if they should be utilized or not. Recent attempts to label GMO products have shown
congress is making a half hearted effort to preclude a proliferation of ill informed and costly state
labeling laws that would benefit the organic food industry by ignoring sound science and instilling ...

Their environmental impacts have been shown repeatedly to be less damaging to the environment, and
a boon to global biodiversity (Mckinney). One example of something similar to GMO technology in
the past would have to be the green revolution. The green revolution occurred in the 1940 s and began
when food was not able to keep up with the population growth of countries. One example in Mexico
during this time talks about how one man, Norman Borlaug, developed new techniques for growing
and developing crops (Genetically). Yes it is true that he didn t genetically engineer the plants then,
but he did selectively crossbreed and harvest specific plants with specific DNA in order to achieve
more drought resistant, and pest resistant crops (Genetically). Although the green revolution didn t
utilize GMO technology they still pioneered a new era of crop growth and development. The same
thing can be said for the biological engineers of today, and how they are striving to make crops better
for everything and everyone by engineering them to be more resistant and

The Coptic Orthodox Christian Community
Preface
One has to consult the sayings of the Fathers of the Church, as well as other ancient writers. This helps
us understand the historical changes which have occurred over the years. Reading the Fathers can give
meaning to many of the rubrics, many of which are not carried out properly because of lack of
understanding of their meaning .
The Coptic Orthodox Christian community is the largest and oldest Christian minority in the Middle
East today. While there is no accurate consensus of their size in Egypt, numerous accounts place them
between 8 to 12 percentages of Egypt s current population.2 And may be more.
Actually, Coptic people are the native Egyptians and the pure children of pharaohs.3

universities came as a natural response to this growing pursuit of knowledge. Coptology was
established as perhaps the newest branch of the humanities, parallel to the other disciplines of

in Cairo by the Egyptian Department of Antiquities, and there they created the International
Association of Coptic Studies for the coordination of the expanding activities in the exploration of the
Coptic heritage. It was also on that occasion that the project of the Coptic Encyclopedia was hailed as
a much needed and long overdue research tool in an unusual field and as a means of diffusing
knowledge concerning one of the most glorious chapters in the story of Christian

Analysis Of Lurhman s Strictly Ballroom And Mitchell s...
In Lurhman s Strictly Ballroom and Mitchell s It Follows, both directors use colour and music to
enhance the experience of the romantic comedy and horror genre films. Where Mitchell uses audio
and visual cues to break the conventional style of horror films in It Follows, Luhrman s Strictly
Ballroom uses audio and visual cues enhance the romantic comedy experience further. Where It
Follows, relies on visuals to tell it s story, Strictly Ballroom uses bright colors and musical cues to
reassure the audience that the two main characters will end up together.
In Mitchell s It Follows, he enlists the help of composer Vreeland to create music for his film.
Traditionally a composer for video games, Vreeland s music consists of the 8 bit type music that is
consistently found in Vreeland s main line of work. Whereas traditional horror films may carry
orchestral music, Vreeland s music is synthesized and therefore stands out because of it. In
combination with his composer s music, Mitchell also uses silence and natural ambience to further
break the horror music stereotype. Where more popular horror films would use silence, darkness and
loud sounds to help increase tension, Mitchell uses silence and music to do that instead. Vreeland s
music, which mainly contains higher pitched music enhanced by low beats, is mainly used during key
moments that involves the Follower. For example, during our second introduction to It, the music
consists of high pitched (flat sounding?????) notes

Nuclear Fission And Photovoltaic Energy
According to the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), Nuclear energy has a 92% efficiency rating, it is the
highest rating of all other alternative energy sources! Paired with a more environmentally friendly
source like solar, it could be what saves the world from climate change. Nuclear fission and
Photovoltaic energy would bring many benefits to a place like Denver, Colorado. These two sources
would work well together in this place because of the environmental impact, the cost of the sources,
and the efficiency of the two sources. Denver is the ideal location for these two energy sources. In
order for nuclear and solar to work well together the sources need to be located in an isolated desert
area. The location also has to be sunny and a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mainly because of global warming and the effects it has on our climate today. Alternative energy
could provide the solution to this because it could eliminate or at least minimize the amounts of
carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. Scientists have found that CO2 is a direct contributor to
global warming and alternative energy could save the planet. The two alternative energy sources,
nuclear and solar, could help with this issue. They would be most effective in Denver, Colorado
because it is a desert area that gets very little rainfall and it allows for isolation. Both nuclear and solar
would help because both of these sources do not emit any carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. They
also benefit from each other in areas like cost, efficiency, waste and many others. Climate change is
not going to stop anytime soon unless something changes for the better. The only way to save the
planet is by changing the way we generate our energy. Global warming was a problem caused by the
most recent generation and it is now the next generation s job to fix it. Be a part of the

The Positive Impact Of The Reformation In The 16th Century
The Reformation during the 16th century was something that had always been thought of and what is
expected that had a positive impact on many people. Reformers that were in the medieval church like
St. Francis of Assisi, Valdes, Jan Hus, and John Wycliff had thought about the aspects of the church
and throughout life before 1517. During the 16th century, figures such as Erasmus of Rotterdam who
was the chief proponent of liberal Catholic reform, had an ongoing concern before Luther told his
Ninety Five Theses. From Martin Luther the aspect of the beginning of the section is very intriguing,
offering how the impact had caused a positive change: Luther having experienced this new conviction,
it is not surprising that the extravagant claims surrounding the sale of indulgences in 1517 provoked
him to the public. The form and text of that protest became known as the 95 Theses . ( Martin Luther
427). From his objection to the claim, the pope had then relieved the sins of Luther and the Catholic
church. The Reformation was a major change in the Catholic church due to the change of how people
bettered themselves. Luther was unhappy that the Catholic church offered an indulgence for pay, such
as, As for myself, let me say that I, too, am a doctor and a preacher yes, and as learned and
experienced as any of those who act so high and mighty ( Martin Luther 428). By following the
sacraments, many were able to better their relationship with Jesus. Shall we frivolously despise this
might, blessing, power, and fruit especially we who would be pastors and preachers? ( Martin Luther
429). Martin Luther is expressing with powers and questioning what one should do with pastors and
preachers and how one can better that problem to come up with a solution. The following quote sticks
out due to the fact that the quote is setting guidelines to how many should go about living their life,
Sixteenth Rule. In the same way, we must be on our guard that by talking much and with much
insistence of faith, without any distinction and explanation occasion be not given to the people to be
lazy and slothful in works, whether before faith is formed in charity or after ( Saint Ignatius of Loyola
446). One can about their life just

A widower and gentle father of two children, Scout and Jem, Atticus not only treats his family with fairness, but his friends and neighbors as well. An African American man in their community has been accused of a rape crime. Atticus feels strongly that the man s innocence will prevail. Since Atticus is a lawyer, he decides he must do the right thing. He must defend the accused. Known by many as a kind, impartial, and respectful man, Atticus earns a good name in his small community. No matter the person, Atticus always treated people with kindness. A neighbor of the Finchs, Mrs. Dubose, spoke harshly to Atticus as well as to his children, Jem and Scout. Instead of getting frustrated at Mrs. Dubose, he understood that she suffered from illness. Therefore, he chose to treat her with kindness. Easy does it, son, Atticus would say. She s an old lady and she s ill. You just hold your head high and be a gentleman. Whatever she says to you, it s your job not to let her make you mad. (133) Atticus rarely spoke in a harsh tone. • 3. Examples Of Peer Relationships In Mean Girls In the film Mean Girls there were many types of peer relationships expressed. Friendships are described as a reciprocal liking, trust, and loyalty between all participating dyadic parties. An example in the film is the relationship that Damian and Janis hold because they are loyal to each other and the liking is mutual. Peer acceptance is to the degree one is liked by their peers. In the film Aaron Samuels is very much liked by his peers. Perceived popular is a child that is considered popular based on their peers perceptions. Regina George is a prime example of teenage girl perceived as popular. When students described Regina George in the film these type of comments were made, Regina George is flawless , One time she punched me in the faced. It was awesome. , and she always looks fierce. Cliques are polyadic social groups that are voluntary. A main clique in the movie is The Plastics which consists of Regina George, Gretchen Wieners, and Karen Smith. These forms of peer relationships are a lot more complex than just a group of friends, these relationships of dynamic in early adolescence. Friendship Regina George s friend group is comprised of Karen and Gretchen. Their friendship is difficult at times. They share secrets among each other, for example the burn book is a secret between the girls. When Cady is included into the friend group she is then entrusted with the group s secrets. • 4. Raphael Sanzio Essay Raphael Sanzio Raphael was one of the most important artists of the Italian Renaissance. Raphael painted and designed many brilliant pieces of work and the stanzas inside the Vatican. He was a master at such necessities of modern art such as depth and perspective and the use of light and shadow, and was the turning point styles of paintings like the use of Madonnas in paintings. Through his short life, Raphael would make some of the most awe inspiring, beautiful, and influential works of art during the Italian Renaissance. Raphael whose full name was Raphael Sanzio, (also known as Raphael Sanzi), was born on April 6th, 1483. He was born in the town of Urbino, Italy, where he would spend his childhood life until he was 11 years old. His ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Raphael created The Marriage of the Virgin before he was even 21 years old, and he was still Perugino s apprentice. Even then, Raphael had a great understanding of depth and perspective, which he shows well in The Marriage of the Virgin. In that piece, the background is beautifully drawn, and although the background stands out, you can still notice the people in the foreground without being distracted by the background. These people are shown having emotions, and instead of being motionless, some characters are making very noticeable actions and a lot of movement, so the people do not appear lifeless. Instead, they appear sort of realistic. In 1504, Raphael moved to Florence. There, in Florence, some of the Italian Renaissance s biggest names lived and worked in Florence. In Florence, Raphael studied Michelangelo s use of anatomy and Leonardo da Vinci s use of light and shadow. He met such big names in Florence such as Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Fra Bartolommeo, who was another painter that did such works as The Holy Family. It was in Florence that Raphael made a name for himself as an artist. One style of painting Raphael favored all throughout his career was that of creating Madonnas over his short life; those are what made Raphael famous in Florence. The way Raphael created his Madonnas, Madonna meaning Mary, the mother of Jesus, portray Mary as a loving, caring human woman. Many other artists before Raphael portrayed Mary as an ... • 5. Romanticism And The Romantic Period Texts are a product of their literary nature and their context. This certainly applies to the Romantic Movement in Britain. The 1830s through to 1850s is when American literature emerged. After the American Independence War that ended in a victory over England in 1812, a new confidence and sense of national identity emerged. American writers reflected and wrote about the anxieties. Numerous writers and artists in the early 19th Century placed a special emphasis on the importance of Americans natural landscape for the development of national character. Americans became interested in literature centred on urban and natural life. Romanticism involves a belief general importance of the individual, the personal and the subjective. Transcendentalism movement inspired writers such as Washington Irving s Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe other works emphasised the creative powers of the individual mind, value for nature, and the stultifying effects of institutions. The American Renaissance arose with the Romantic Movement. Writers such as William Shakespeare s Macbeth and Matthias Grünewald s artwork Crucifixion Isenheim Altarpiece dramatized a culture played by poverty and tension with the emergence of a new democracy. The Neoclassical movement was centred during the late 17th Century and 18th Century. Neoclassical artworks such as Pity by William Blake imitates the style of the Romans and Greeks. This period was the start of modern middle class and traditional afternoon tea. People would group around to debate politics and other ideas of enlightenment. Characteristics of writing focused on peoples appearance rather than feelings or intentions. These movements have some similar aspects to each other, which assisted with the creation of Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving. Macbeth by William Shakespeare is a well known poem and play. Macbeth is one of gothic literature similarly to Sleepy Hollow because of the use of Witches, ghosts, predictions and unnatural occurrences throughout the poem. In the 16th century, witches were seen as an unexplainable real supernatural phenomenon that sparked great fear throughout the world. The Supernatural aspect gives the audience an insight ... • 6. Sappho Poem Analysis Sappho was one of the most important poetess of her time, if not the most important of all. To talk about Sappho is to summon intense feelings related to love and eroticism. All who enjoy her poetry know it. Sappho is a Greek poet of antiquity who lived a life of almost legend, on the island of Lesbos which is near the Turkish coast. In the city of Mytilene she ran a school for aristocratic girls; in this environment combined pedagogy with sensuality, and in it appeared her poetry. With respect to her love life many anecdotal and trivial things have been commented on. To us, for more than two thousand years, it pleases us to evoke it through its verses, conceived from the observation of the human nature, with absence of moral artifices. It is possible that Sappho, suffered more than a displeasure and misunderstanding. The sincere love expressed in her words and the generosity with which she opens her soul, have moved through the centuries. In addition to the pleasure of her beauty, her words mobilize reflections about our own affective behavior. Although our life should be a rich adventure in search of affection, it conjures of loneliness and vindication of love, not infrequently we retreat caresses, we are ashamed of our natural inclinations, we hide our tears because the context disqualifies and condemn love because it does not conform to certain rules. We oppose the concrete to the abstract, as if abstract thinking were a weakness. And, what is usually more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also,I think that the underground railway contributed to Canada s identity because it showed that slaves aren t an object and can find a way to escape how bad their lives were. The underground railway also showed Canada to stop abusing people just because they don t look the same and that you should try and help them to stop slavery around the world. • 9. Difference Between The Adlerian Approach And... The main difference between the Adlerian approach and the Psychoanalytic approach deals with the stance the therapist takes. In the Psychoanalytic approach , the therapist sits back and gives the client the right to express himself without any resistance. Since transference is a big issue with this approach, and the client can develop projections toward the therapist(Corey, 2013, pg. 481), so it is important for the therapist to remain neutral. Transference interpretation helps our clients by enabling them to see broad patterns of fantasies, interactions and object relations that they had never put together before(Howes, 2010). This approach goes against the philosophy of counseling because the therapist take a back seat, while the client takes the wheel and counseling should be more about an integrative approach. On the other hand the Psychoanalytic approach is based on mutual respect and the importance of goals. Focus is on identifying, exploring and disclosing mistaken goals and faulty assumptions within the persons lifestyle(Corey, 2013, pg. 481), and this approach shows the importance of a therapist who uses more guidance to identify those objectives. The main differences between Existential and Person Centered approach would have to be that the Existential approach focuses on client reflecting on their life while the Person Centered approach shows us that people are self directed and don t necessarily needs a counselor to make positive changes in order to achieve ... In my essay I intend to discuss four main characters in order to prove or disapprove Mark Antony s statement. Cassius approached Brutus in act 1, to tell him that he felt that Caesar was becoming too powerful Why man he doth bestride the narrow world like a colossus, and we petty men walk under his huge legs Cassius then sent flattering letters through Brutus window saying that he would be a better emperor than Caesar. On night Brutus could not sleep, he justifies the idea of killing Caesar to himself. That same night all of the conspirators arrive at Brutus house and all decide to kill Caesar at the Senate house the following day. • 15. The Theory Of Leonardo Da Vinci s Multiple Intelligence... Gardner s Multiple Intelligence theory challenged traditional beliefs in the field of education and cognitive science. He is a psychologist professor at Harvard University s Graduate School of Education. According to a traditional definition, intelligence is a uniform cognitive capacity people are born with. Simply put, intelligence is the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills. Gardner s theory of Multiple Intelligences proposes that all human beings possess each of the nine intelligences in varying amounts. In addition, he claims that these intelligences are located in different parts of the brain which can work together or independent of each other, and that the multiple intelligences can be strengthened or weakened depending how you treat each intelligence. The nine intelligences are as follows: Visual/Spatial People who are strong visually/spatially learn best when they are given material that is organized spatially. They like to have physical models or to see what is being taught to understand. They enjoy anything eye catching like charts, graphs, maps, tables, illustrations, art, or puzzles. A man that immediately comes to mind that shows exceptional visual/spatial intelligence is Leonardo Da Vinci (1452 1519), who not only was a great artist who created pieces such as the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, but also studied the anatomy of the human body. He sketched detailed diagrams of parts of the body such as the brain, parts of the skeleton, and even ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. Questions and Answers on Criminal Procedure 1. Does the information included in the warrant application amount to Probable Cause? Why or why not? Probably not. This would be defined as an anticipatory search warrant, but the information provided by the confidential informant includes statements that are mostly vague: Dory was planning to sell Golden Starfish within an open ended date, she probably will deliver the stolen merchandise at some point, and she usually rents a room at the specific hotel named. None of this qualifies as reliable recent information as to criminal activity; as for proposed or future criminal activity, there are not sufficient facts here to indicate an event that would be sufficient to qualify as a triggering condition . According to the US Supreme Court s decision in U.S. v Grubbs (2006), what is required in an anticipatory search warrant is a triggering condition that would permit the execution of the warrant on the fair probability that contraband would be discovered if the search were executed no such condition appears to be included here, when the best that is offered for a triggering condition is that Dory has rented a room. The fact that the detective overheard mention of the Golden Starfish through the door is irrelevant to the establishment of probable cause for the warrant, though. 2. Of what significance, if any, is the two week period for serving the warrant? Ordinarily a search warrant cannot be served if stale information is included in the search warrant ... The Dualistic Narrative In Alison Bechdel s Fun Home The Dualistic Narrative in Fun Home Alison Bechdel s Fun Home uses intellectually developed language against cartoon images that are comparatively minimal to convey what her life was like as a child and young adult as she coped with her father s suicide. By using both of these narrative forms, Bechdel essentially gives herself two different voices in the novel: her childhood self who is the main character of the book and her current self who is the author. This is meaningful because since the novel is a memoir, the author s voice is a reflection of what she has become as a result of the events of her childhood. That contrast between young Alison and older, wiser Alison adds a new dimension to the story as the reader begins to notice how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As an adult, she can reflect back and see that Bruce did indeed fly too close to the sun and depict that using metaphor. But as the child in those images, she is a carefree toddler playing with her father, ignorant to what he has done and what he will do in the future. Additionally, Bechdel uses contrast between text and imagery to convey secrets that were hidden at the time of her childhood but have since been revealed. In the panel at the top of page 17, the Bechdel family is sitting at church. Each of the family members seems bored and lackluster. In the text directly inside the panel, however, Bechdel writes but would an ideal husband and father have sex with teenage boys? (17). This is a shocking moment to the reader since it is the first time that Bechdel mentions her father s homosexuality, let alone potential pedophilia. But Alison and her brothers were unaware of this at the moment that is being depicted in this panel. Also, since they are in a church, it is crucial to note Bruce s relative despondence compared to his children s. Perhaps being in a church makes him feel guilty or sinful about the secrets that are described in the text box of that same panel. This subtle difference in emotion is another interesting juxtaposition within this panel between he who knows the secret being revealed and he who does not. As time went on, the pain continued to worsen, but he put off any tests because he was about to turn 50 and knew he would be going in for a checkup at that time. In 2013 he went in for his routine colonoscopy, but we could have never prepared ourselves for how this test was about to affect all of our lives. My father in law was nervous the day of the colonoscopy because the pain in his stomach had worsened when he had to flush out his system before the test could be completed. The doctors assured him that this was normal for most everybody who had to go through this process, and they seemed very optimistic about the way the results would turn out. Once the procedure was complete, the doctors informed us that everything had gone well, but they did find multiple masses in his colon that they had taken samples of and had sent to pathology to have tested. We were instructed not to worry since this could be nothing, and they would contact us as soon as they had the results. Hyperbole and personification is used to indicate how difficult it can be to come to terms with loss and how alone one can feel. Examples Of Group Dynamics In 12 Angry Men It s Possible : How Group Dynamics Affect their Outcomes As the courtroom drama film 12 Angry Men celebrates its 60th anniversary, there is no doubt to why it remains a cinematic classic. Its strategic cinematography, accurate perceptions of human character, and topical issues creates an exposure of group dynamics that is still relevant today. As we see Henry Fonda s character, Juror #8, swing the verdict of a trial away from an 11 1 vote against the defendant to a consensus for his freedom, many different elements of organizational behaviour are displayed. How the group forms, acts, and interacts as time progresses are attributed to a multitude of internal and external factors. Despite the simplicity of setting and premise, 12 Angry Men remains a beloved film. It s authenticity of human behaviour, particularly in relation to conformity, team interaction, and leadership, resonates with its audience as it tries to, as Juror #3 would say, talk about facts. Ultimately, 12 Angry Men s cinematographic balance of realism and sentimentalism in its story aptly summate the struggles of the characters as they overcome the obstacles of group conflicts while addressing their own moral qualms. There are two important group development stages that occur in 12 Angry Men. The movie s characters and tone is set during the forming stage, where the characters are first introduced into the team. • 32. The Positive Impact Of The Reformation In The 16th Century The Reformation during the 16th century was something that had always been thought of and what is expected that had a positive impact on many people. Reformers that were in the medieval church like St. Francis of Assisi, Valdes, Jan Hus, and John Wycliff had thought about the aspects of the church and throughout life before 1517. During the 16th century, figures such as Erasmus of Rotterdam who was the chief proponent of liberal Catholic reform, had an ongoing concern before Luther told his Ninety Five Theses. From Martin Luther the aspect of the beginning of the section is very intriguing, offering how the impact had caused a positive change: Luther having experienced this new conviction, it is not surprising that the extravagant claims surrounding the sale of indulgences in 1517 provoked him to the public. The form and text of that protest became known as the 95 Theses . ( Martin Luther 427). From his objection to the claim, the pope had then relieved the sins of Luther and the Catholic church. The Reformation was a major change in the Catholic church due to the change of how people bettered themselves. Luther was unhappy that the Catholic church offered an indulgence for pay, such as, As for myself, let me say that I, too, am a doctor and a preacher yes, and as learned and experienced as any of those who act so high and mighty ( Martin Luther 428). By following the sacraments, many were able to better their relationship with Jesus. Shall we frivolously despise this might, blessing, power, and fruit especially we who would be pastors and preachers? ( Martin Luther 429). Martin Luther is expressing with powers and questioning what one should do with pastors and preachers and how one can better that problem to come up with a solution. The following quote sticks out due to the fact that the quote is setting guidelines to how many should go about living their life, Sixteenth Rule. In the same way, we must be on our guard that by talking much and with much insistence of faith, without any distinction and explanation occasion be not given to the people to be lazy and slothful in works, whether before faith is formed in charity or after ( Saint Ignatius of Loyola 446).
