Dulce Et Decorum Est And The War Poem Analysis
Individual experiences of war are eccentric and can be disparate which reflect upon the
complexities and intricacies of World War II. These contrasting experiences and judgments have
been demonstrated and explored thoroughly throughout both Rupert Brooke s 1914 war poem The
Soldier and Wilfred Owen s war poem Dulce et Decorum Est . Poet Rupert Brookes, has displayed
the ideology of honour through sacrifice resulting from patriotism within his 1914 sonnetThe
Soldier . The poem was written at the beginning of the First World War in 1914, as a part of a
series of sonnets written by Rupert Brooke. The Soldier illustrates the ideals of honour sacrifice
and patriotism that were valorised during the period of WW1. Rupert Brooks 1914 war poem
The Soldier , illustrates a conflicting perspective and judgment on the concept and ideals of
Patriotism so commonly referred upon by displaying the vast patriotism and honour linked with
sacrifice which affirms the hegemony of British cultural imperialism. Wilfred Owen s 1917 war
poem, Dulce et Decorum Est , explores the conflicting anti war perspective through the vivid
demonstration of the psychological and physical trauma inflicted upon those involved in the
conflict of World War 1. Owen s 1917 war poem Dulce et Decorum Est , denounces the traditional
belief in patriotism and the honour associated with giving one s life for their country which had
become habitual during the World War II. This poem positions the reader to perceive

Social Effects Of Socialization
Everyone in the world sees and has different opinions on an issue. Due to this people choose a
party to express their beliefs and what should be done even if it doesn t cover all their believes.
But even people can change their party and believes overtime due to socialization. Which is
affected by virtually anyone like family, friends, political actors, and even policies the government
establishes.
As everyone is growing up they all experience different types of socialization and I am not an
exception. I grew up with many types of Socialization and some had a bigger effect than others.
But overall my socialization has been affected by my family, friends, church, and media. Even
though at first i didn t know they had an affect on they way I think. I later began to realize that
they do. Like that of my earliest political memory when in my old house I was watching tv and
on the it, it was talking about the 2008 election and I remember seeing polls and the support
every candidate had and one of them I remember seeing was Obama. My grandpa was also there
with me and was saying that the Obama was winning in the poles. Even though I didn t really
know what was going on I thought it was pretty cool and went for Obama because everyone I
knew liked him. Here you can see that family had an effect on me because they agreed with obama
and because of this I also agreed with him even though i really didn t know much about him and
politics. Even now they are affecting me especially my dad

A QBB file is created by Intuit s QuickBooks software when the backup feature is utilized. These
files are proprietary and cannot be read by any other software package available to the average
consumer.
If you use QuickBooks to store and manipulate your company s financial data, it will become
crucial that you take steps to protect this data. Given enough time, the most reliable PC will have
some sort of hardware malfunction. But what to do when the company file becomes corrupted?
It is important to realize that using the same version of QuickBooks to restore the file as it was
backed up is recommended and that trying to restore a backup file (QBB) using an older version
of QuickBooks than the file was created in may not work. Obviously, you will need a computer
with an installed version of QuickBooks.
You receive error messages when working in QuickBooks
QuickBooks shuts down when you click to save a transaction
Discrepancies appear on reports; that is, invoices or bills that post with a negative value

Why Is Running Hot Water Over The Metal Lid Of A Glass Jar
Running hot water over the metal lid of a glass jar makes it easier to open the jar. Why? Discuss
two other practical examples based on matter and/or heat concepts.
Physics explains thermal expansion as linear dimensions increasing by the same percentage with an
increase in temperature. In other words, when you heat an object, that object expands and becomes
larger due to the change in the object s temperature. Raising an object s temperature, in this case,
the metal lid, causes it s molecules to move faster. The faster molecules move, the more space they
occupy. If something occupies more space than it originally did, then by definition it is now bigger.
Therefore, the heat exchange from water to metal heats the molecules within the lid

Internet as a Threat to Old Media
internet as a threat to old media Introduction Just a few clicks on the mouse and a whole world of
information are available for free. The internet, whilst largely contributing to declining newspaper,
magazines and books sales, decreasing the percentage of advertising on TV and radio, increasing
of internet piracy and illegal downloading of films and music. Internet can at least provide a huge
resource for journalist, authors, musicians, photographers, producers, editors, directors and all
information workers. On the other hand, audiences and users of media mainly still believe on old
media as they gain their information and follow latest news (which affect public opinion) from old
media because they trust it and rely on its... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So rather than immediately displacing the printed codex, the advent of the digital book meant
that the physical book could now flourish as never before. At the same time this change prepared
the ground for a decisive future shift towards electronic reading. Dawn of the e Book The
electronic book (e book), existing as a virtual entity stored in a digital file, began to emerge in its
own right in the last years of the twentieth century. Like many new technologies it suffered from
technical teething troubles, ineffective or inappropriate marketing, commercial rivalries that
slowed its progress, and initial public scepticism or indifference. Gradually however the
electronic book became capable of being read from an increasing variety of devices, and its vast
potential began to be more widely understood. It became clear that the e book would represent
the next leap forward in the onward march of the book. While it can simply represent traditional
texts it can also become a layered and interactive multimedia experience. Indeed the book of the
future could even be spontaneously assembled from multiple sources for specific educational or
entertainment purposes, by a single reader or group. The e book therefore holds the promise of
adding an unprecedented degree of flexibility to the concept of the book. The book is one of

Amelia Earhart s Life
Amelia Earhart s last words were heard 8:43 a.m.; these are the last documented moments of her
life ( Earhart Project ). Any signs or clues as to where Earhart and her plane were located vanished
the second these words had been received, leaving the public stumped and constantly inquiring
about what exactly had become of Amelia Earharton that day. At long last, due to new discoveries,
some light now shines upon Earhart s whereabouts. Despite popular belief, AmeliaEarhart wasn t
captured by the Japanese nor was she lost at sea; in fact, the famous pilot landed on the
uninhabited island of Nikumaroro and passed away before she could be saved.

There are multitudes of other conspiracies, however, this one is evidentially proven to be true.
Earhart s plane was never submerged under water or taken away from her since she was sending
Morse Code signals for days after her planes disappearance. In addition to this, Nikumaroro was
the closest island to her destination and the island s beaches were ideal for landing. On top of
this, many artifacts that have to be Earhart s or Noonan s, her navigator, have originated from
Nikumaroro. Most importantly, they found a body matching Earhart s size and race as well on
Nikumaroro. All of these findings combined make it the highly unlikely Earhart had ended up
anywhere else but on the deserted island of

George Orwell Use Of Control In The Book 1984
In George Orwell novel nineteen eighty four Winston is being alienated by the Party because it try
to make Winston think, act, do everything a certain way. The Party controls Winston by the
telescreen, thought police, and the children spies. The social regime/ the Party shapes or influences
the characters because of the way they use brainwashing and physical control for punishment.
The Thought Police, who snoop in on conversations, always watching your every move, controlling
the minds and thoughts of the people. (Orwell 6) The thought police is controlling of Winston and
this influences him to only act how they want him to. Winston explains how the thought police
does not send you to be punished, it is punishment Thoughtcrime does not entail death:
thoughtcrime IS death. (Orwell 9) . When Winston found out that the Parson kids were spying on
him through the peephole he said You re a traitor!/ You re a thought criminal! (Orwell). Winston
knew that if the party saw him writing in his journal then they would arrest him for thought crime.
Winston kept his back turned to the telescreen. It was safer, though, as he well knew, even a back
can be revealing. (Orwell 3). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Arm Chair Lineman Research Paper
On any given Sunday, America has tens of thousands of arm chair quarterbacks sitting in their
living rooms calling the shots for the NFL teams of their choice, but the arm chair lineman is
basically unheard of. An effective offensive line is crucial to the success of any football team.
Without a working line, many quarterbacks and running backs would not have the successful
careers they now possess. The left tackle is the second highest paid playerin the NFL, according to
an article in the magazine Bleacher Report (Salman, 2008). The exorbitant salary received by left
tackles illustrates the organization s understanding of the necessity for a powerful offensive line.
The work of the offensive line is to provide protection and create time for other players to make
decisions and follow through with game changing plays.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If he does not follow his blockers, he will have a much greater chance of getting tackled for a loss
of yards. On a pass play, the quarterback relies on the offensive line to give him the time he needs
to read the defense and put the ball where the wide receiver can catch it. If the offensive line does
not block, then the quarterback will be sacked for a loss of yards, or he will make a bad decision
and throw an interception, thus resulting in a loss of possession or, even worse, a pick six, which
is a touchdown for the opposing team. If the offensive line does their jobs correctly, big plays are

Various forms of insurance will need to be acquired in order to minimize the risk of performing

our clients while on the river, injuries to our employees while performing their occupational duties,
damage to the rafts or other equipment while being used on the river and damages to our mobile
home office on the riverbank most likely due to a flood. The types of insurance that will minimize
the monetary loss and liability the company will face from these events are two forms of
professional liability insurance, worker s compensation insurance, property insurance and business
interruption insurance. Property insurance will compensate the business for the damages to our

Cost of College
Argumentative Essay
Ever since you were little, your parents have been talking about this wonderful thing called
college. They told you that you have to go there to get an education before you can get a good
job. Many kids have dreamed of going to college, and being able to get the job of their dreams. By
putting in hard work and dedication to good grades in high school, you had high hopes that you
would be able to get into an Ivy League school. The American dream of being able to go to college
to get a degree is sliding away from many people due to rising costs. With increasing tuition prices
and job loss, the college dream is slowly and surely slipping away from many students and their
families.

With lack of financial aid students are not going to be able to afford college on their own. They are
relying on their parents to help them, but is there anything they can do?
In order to get a decent paying job, you have to have a college degree. Many people will not be able
to go to college full time because they have to work part time or full time to be able to afford
college and can not move on to a higher paying job with out it. Low income students have
always struggled with college bills. Financial and political forces are making it harder than ever
to get a college degree, which is crucial to getting a high paying job (Philadelphia Inquirer, 1). It
is extremely difficult to get a job and go to college full or part time, just to have a higher paying
job. Many students hope to avoid a soaring loan debt. They work long hours; take courses part time
and are commuting to college rather than living on campus. These compromises greatly reduce
chances of earning a college degree in a timely manner if at all (Philadelphia Inquirer, 1). As a
result, students must rely on even larger loan debt to get through school. Many students have to put
off getting their degree and some never go back to get it.
Graduation rates have dropped because of the size of debt that students acquire while at school.
Students nowadays are expected to pay all of their tuition with no help. The economy is in

People have a choice to use either website to find their information that they want or advertise, but

A Leader s Framework For Decision Making
In the article titled, A leader s framework for decision making , the authors David Snowden and
Mary E. Boone discuss the poor policy decisions at the governmental level and the challenges
facing uncompetitive local firms. The article explains how managers rely on common leadership
approaches that work well in one set of circumstances but fall short of others. In the complex
environment of the current business world, leaders often will be called upon to act against their
instincts. They will need to know when to share power and when to wield it alone, when to look to
the wisdom of the group and when to take their own counsel. A deep understanding of context, the
ability to embrace complexityand paradox, and a willingness to flexibly change leadershipstyle will
be required for leaders who want to make things happen in a time of increasing uncertainty
(Snowden Boone, 2007).

David J. Snowden is the founder and chief scientific officer of Cognitive Edge, an international
research network. He is based primarily in Lockeridge, England. Snowden holds an MBA from

Song Cycles Of Schumann
I have chosen these two cycles to analyse because they represent the two side of one story, the
masculine and feminine points of views of love.
These two song cycles were composed shortly after one another. Frauenliebe und Leben was
described by Gerhard Kaiser as: Her daughters of citizenry could find their womanly role in life
sketched out for them, from first love, through wedding, motherhood and widowhood, to old age
and death. Like Gretchen s song at the spinning wheel, these poems too involve role play. They
portray a man s wishful image of women, prescribing to the point of embarrassment her path to
exemplary status through subjugation to man. She finds fulfilment in self sacrificing service to him
and in glorifying him. (Muxfeldt, p.28)
Some points to conceder when performing Schumann s setting of Chamisso s texts are addressed in
an article by Ruth Solie. She summarizes the text of each of the eight movements as:

In the first song the text is reminiscent of earlier days in May, and the protagonist declares his love
for a particular woman. Schumann s ambiguous key structure gives the listener a feel that the piece
never settles. Aus meinen Träuen spiressen the protagonist continues to profess his love and
shows a little frustration in the phrase und meine Seufzwer warden ein Nachtigallenchor (And my
sighs will be a nightingale choir). Schumann s tonality begins to stabilize during this movement,
provided by a simple chordal accompaniment allowing the vocal line to show and express the
feelings of the text. The third movement relates the woman figure to beautiful images in nature
such as the rose, the lily, the dove and the sun and finally professes that she is the one. The first
three movements of this cycle set the initial tone and illustrate the protagonist s love for this

Body Art Workplace
Is body art a workplace issue? Does having a visible tattoo say anything about an individual that
is relevant to his or her job? I feel that these things shouldn t even be a concern. Tattoos and
pricings are just a way to express oneself. Tattoos and piercings shouldn t be a reason for
questioning a persons responsibility or productivity in a job setting. Tattoos are a form of
expressing oneself, everyone should be able to express themselves however they want. Tattoos are

Tattoos and piercings don t show how hard working you are, they don t show how responsible
you are, they don t show how dependable you are. Tattoos and piercings show creativity and
confidence. I m just a really normal, sensitive kind of go about my business everyday kinda guy.
People see the tattoos, and they either read things or they see things and they don t really know
that I m just this guy that gets up and makes coffee in the morning and hangs out with his friends
and walks his dog and reads his Bible and goes about his day. Said Joel Madden. Tattoos and
piercings don t directly represent any qualities that employers are looking for. You can t base
your entire judgment of a person off of what they put on their body or how many piercings they
have on their body. It s like saying just because this guy is wearing rings means he is too
sensitive for the job because typically women wear rings not men. I know that tattoos used to be
related to violence, drugs, and gangs. But we live in a different world now. One where people get
tattoos to remember important times in their lives. Time that helped shape them into the people
they are today. Tattoos have gained wider social acceptance and more and more people, men and
women alike, have them (All Business). Today tattoos can just be just connected to gangs and
violence. Today almost everyone has them. So if employers want to be able to hire the best
employee they better rethink discrimination against tattoos because a study found that between
the ages 18 29 about 40% of people have tattoos (Statistic Brain). Just because people have
tattoos doesn t mean that they are slackers and are not hard workers. My fathers has about six or
seven tattoos and he is the hardest working person I have ever met. He is the most caring and
respectful human being. He works at the Nursing home in Lennox. He cares for the elderly people

Now I m not going to lie to you, sometimes competitiveness has an ally. The ally is jealousy, but
listen, we all have friends who are completely different from us, and competitiveness does to.
Jealousy is not competitiveness although, sometimes they come hand in hand. More often than
not, we have learned to ignore jealousy, and so when they come as a team, we focus on the
competitiveness, and avoid being jealous. When jealousy realizes that it has no purpose, it
leaves, and we remain solely competitive However, competitiveness isn t the nicest guy on the
block. He s usually polite, but when in action, he is definitely not friendly. Why? That is his job.
Tell me, at work, do you spend most of it in the hallways socializing, or do you spend it working?
Unless you like to slack off, I think most of you would be working. That s the same with
competitiveness. Once it is working, it wants to get its job done, and over with. It doesn t want
to waste time. After it has completed what it needs to do , it goes back to being friendly, just like
most of us are at work. After all that I ve done to defend competitiveness I must tell you that
competitiveness does get out of hand. You ve all seen those movies where someone hijacks their

Augustine did not agree with that. Also in reaction against the Donatists, Augustine developed a
distinction between the regularity and validity of the sacraments. Regular sacraments are performed
by clergy of the Catholic Church, while sacraments performed by schismatics are considered
irregular. Nevertheless, the validity of the sacraments do not depend upon the holiness of the priests
who perform them (ex opere operato); therefore, irregular sacraments are still accepted as valid
provided they are done in the name of Christ and in the manner prescribed by the Church. On this
point Augustine departs from the earlier teaching of Cyprian, who taught that converts from
schismatic movements must be re baptised.[95] Augustine taught that sacraments administered
outside the Catholic Church, though true sacraments, avail nothing. However, he also stated that
baptism, while it does not confer any grace when done outside the Church, does confer grace as

The roaring twenties in Australia
Whether or not the term Roaring Twenties is an adequate description of the character of Australian
society from 1920 to 1929 depends on the circumstances of the Australian population in this decade,
because Roaring implies the 1920 s were full of dramatic social changes, which may have came
about from spontaneous economical or political incidences and new inventions. In the 1920s
Australian politics was dominated by the conservative parties and, despite some industrial
discontent and hardship, the economy was prosperous and expanding. Australian society was
experiencing changes and new developments in many fields. The use of electricity during the
twenties became much more common, and it dramatically altered the lives of people living... Show

Moving pictures appeared in the first decade of the century, and were probably the most popular
form of entertainment during the 1920s. Thousands of people were able to be entertained under the
one roof of some huge theatres. Some of these theatres were exquisitely decorated and furnished,
creating an atmosphere where patrons received maximum satisfaction. In 1929 talkies appeared for
the first time in Australia, and thousands of people rushed to see the new talking, moving picture.
Despite the popularity of entertainment in the form of mentally stimulating material, such as the
radio and pictures, outdoor sport was another major form of relaxation during the 1920s.
Thousands went to see Australia s new sporting heroes in horse racing, tennis, football and
cricket. Australia experienced substantial success in international sporting competitions,
especially in tennis where Australia defeated England in the Davis Cup, and in cricket where
Australia defeated England in the first Test Series since the end of the war. Thousands of people
also went to the beaches. In the early 1920s mixed bathing was still illegal and beaches were
segregated. However, with the growing sense of social rebellion, more and more people ignored
these laws and came to the beach to swim. Bathing costumes gradually lost pre war modesty levels
also. Evidently, the pictures and out door sports were a top priority as forms of entertainment for

Questions On Using The Surface Concentration Of Water
The Scientific Method in Action
Using The Surface Tension of Water
Izzy Sunby Pd. 6
Question: What is the question your class will be testing?
How many drops of room temperature water can we put on a penny?
Hypothesis: It is a prediction of what you believe will happen in an experiment. Based on the
variable that you are testing, write down a simple hypothesis of what you expect to see during your
experiment.
Example: If we lower the temperature of the penny, it will have more drops.
If we test the tail side of the penny, with room temperature water, then we will be able to fit over
20 drops of water on the penny.
Now you are ready to conduct your experiment. Remember in a good experiment we want only one

1.Gather the materials that are listed above.
2. Mark a place on your flat, stable surface to designate where you will always be putting your
penny.
3. Place your penny tail side up on your designated spot on your flat surface.
4. Dip your eye dropper into your beaker of water and pinch the top, then release it to collect water
in your dropper.
5. Hold the eyedropper perpendicular to the flat surface (at a 90 degree angle), about 1 cm over the
penny.
6. One by one, pinch the top of the eyedropper to let a drop of water out of the bottom and onto the
penny. Count how many drops you can fit onto the penny until it spills over onto your flat surface.
7. Using paper towel, dry up any water that might have spilt on the table.
8. Using your chromebook, record the number of drops you fit onto the penny on your data table in
the observation section of this document.

Duckweed Grow Lab Report
Overall, it is recognizable that excess nutrients do have major effects on water ecosystems,
showcased within the three samples. By the end of the experiment, the samples differed vastly. In
the high sample, most, if not all, organisms had died off from harmful levels of the provided
nutrients. In the low sample, plantgrowth thrived because there was just enough of the provided
nutrients. In the control sample, nothing major had changed other than the amount of duckweed,
which was still acute. It is apparent that eutrophicationoccurred more in the low sample compared to
the other two.
The high sample received 6 8 drops of liquid miracle grow, which consists of nitrogen, phosphorus,
and potassium. Initially, it was predicted that this sample would serve as the one with the most
life. However, this was proven false. This sample shows profound levels of death and no growth
whatsoever. This is due to the fact that such excessive amounts of nutrients can serve as a toxic
poison to organisms. Over the course of the experiment, no additional duckweed growth was
witnessed. In fact, the few that were there originally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The changes in this sample are the most visually apparent among the others. Between November
22nd and December 1st, algae growth skyrocketed, as shown by the dark green hue of the water.
Moreover, duckweed growth was rapid and abundant, specifically between December 1st and 6th.
By the end of the experiment, the entire surface on the container was blanketed by duckweed. This
amount of growth occured due to the fact that the amount of nutrients provided, that being of
nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, was just enough to provide sufficient nutrition for plant
growth, and then some. It hadn t reached the level of toxicity shown in the high sample, however.
When examined beneath the microscope, not much was visible other than copious amounts of

The Rise Of Fear By Marilynne Robinson
Faltering Faithfulness: The Rise In Fear
Fear is often characterized as an irrational sense of negativity toward the unknown or the
unlikeable. In the eyes of many Americans, the majority of whom proclaim their Christian beliefs,
this sensation is considered unavoidable. Marilynne Robinson argues in her article Fear ,
published by The New York Review of Books in 2015, that ...first, contemporary America is full of
fear. And second, fear is not a Christian habit of mind (Robinson 1). In other words, it is unchristian
to fear. In both the beginning and conclusion, she clearly expresses credibility through her extensive
credentials and strong emotional arguments; however, this is overshadowed by the wordiness,
sarcasm, and lack of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Robinson s use of her intelligence and lengthy career helps build an image of reliability within her
argument initially. However, as citing facts soon turns to reciting history as if directly from a
textbook, her wealth of knowledge becomes exhausting. Focus changes numerously from fear, to
gun rights, to ever changing religious views in the nation, and her argument lacks the clarity that it
began with. In her effort to almost brag about how well read she is, Marilynne completely loses
sight of the purpose and the attention of the reader.
Robinson emphasizes some her argument on employing logical persuasion to counteract her
shortcomings in credibility. It s frequent that events in history can repeat themselves, and
understanding the implications of past actions helps to prevent future mistakes. Fear is an
emotion that is, in our society today, unavoidable. Yet, this is precisely what creates an
atmosphere of political or social unrest within the nation and abroad. Because, it serves as a tool
by which ideas can be spread or perhaps forced down upon those easily convinced. She cites guns
as being a prime example of this case, saying: gun sales stimulate gun sales, and when people see
weapons, they have every reason on earth to fear the worst (4 Robinson). Fear is better described
as being contagious . As the threat of violence, for example, increases, the perceived need for
violence in retaliation increases. The logical response

Disadvantages Of Calamansi
Powdered Calamansi Anyone?
Numerous Filipino dishes have calamansi as a main ingredient, with the fruit s juice used either as
a marinade, as part of a dish or a dip.
Cooking for a family using calamansi involves slicing the fruit, squeezing the juice out then
straining the juice to remove the seeds. Cooking large batches for a party could make this tedious
chore a nightmare.
D Lite Ingredients and Chemicals, a company established in 2011, is pushing powdered calamansi
as an alternative to the squeezing and the mess involved with handling the fresh fruit.

The Beginning Of Renaissance Art
The beginning of Renaissance art can be tracked all the way back to Italy in the late 13th and early
14th and 15th centuries. During this Renaissance period, Italian scholars and artists saw themselves
as bringing back the ideals and achievements of Roman culture. Their art tried to capture the
experience of the individual and the beauty and mystery of the natural world. The Italian
Renaissancewas considered a rebirth of old values in art such as literature and philosophy. It was a
period for the artist to develop that aimed for the revival of naturalism. Its influence moved through
Europe and brought back the cultural and scientific ideas that shaped artistic pieces for the next half
a century. Stefano Da Verona was an Italian artist who

Instead of having flat, stiff images, faces had not looked more realistic as bodies were painted in
more realistic form as their poses looked more human like, and figures now expressed real
emotion. While this was happening, Artists still tried to create work that were realistic but with
fluidity and not as much detail.. Although Giotto in this time period had strived towards adding a
perspective, it wasn t until the arrival of the architects Brunelleschi and Leon Battista Alberti that it
became big style to incorperate for many painters. Dossi s work of The Holy Family came in a time
late during the Renaissance. A time called the High Renaissance . Despite the growing realism
being achieved in their art, High Renaissance artists such as Dossi aimed for beauty, and harmony
more than realism, which was the focus in the past. Their paintings may have been based on nature
but they had no interest in replication. Instead they looked for the ultimate beauty within the
picture. This provoked artists towards the idea of perfection. Greek philosophy actually influenced
this style in the high Renaissance. It provided the secret of the perfect human type with its
proportions, muscular structure, oval face, triangular forehead, straight nose, and balance with the
weight on one hip, which can be seen in the immensely expressive sculpture of Michelangelo
(Botticelli). The difference in the paintings between the two time periods

Catcalling And Social Media
Street harassment, also know as catcalling, is an action that I hate the most. Street harassment is
unwanted sayings or gestures that are targeted toward someone in specific based on sexual
orientation or gender, and in this case, women. Catcalling can be verbal such as compliments, like,
hey, baby. Catcalling can be physical, like groping a part of the body, and it can also be sexual
remarks. When I see street harassmenton social media, like in a picture or a video, I feel
uncomfortable, so I can t even imagine how some women feel when they have inappropriate
comments thrown at them constantly.
I think catcalling is the dumbest thing that anyone could have possibly thought of. Women don t
deserve to get harassed on the street. We want to get from point A to point B without any
interruptions, unless it s with our consent and if it s a friend whom consent was given to. If I
have to get stopped on the street for a gross man to comment on my butt or follow me, it is not
going to be a very good day. Most women I know, do not enjoy the act of being catcalled,
however, research from ILR ( Street Harassment Statistics ) and Hollaback!, a non profit
organization, showed that only 3%, out of 4,900 participants in the survey under the age of 40, has
found street harassment flattering. Some people do like it, and I m not going to shame, but I d
much rather have people that know me and are my friends compliment me in a nice way rather than
strangers comment on my body because they

Selflessness And Selflessness In The Movie The Impossible
In the movie, The Impossible, Lucas Bennett shows selflessness and bravery as he does
everything to keep his mother, Maria, alive. While Lucas and Maria walk through the debris they
hear a child crying. Maria insists on helping anyone they can so she urges Lucas to help the child.
Lucas reflects that he is brave and selfless as he rescues the helpless child. He put his life in danger
to find a complete stranger. Lucas then faces another challenge as he pushes his motherup into the
tree, before pulling himself up. He puts his life in danger in order to insure his mother s safety.
Another example of Lucas s strong personalities is shown when Lucas makes it his priority to
reunite families in the hospital. Despite knowing the chances of reuniting a family, in such a large
hospital, were slim, he showed selflessness by trying anyway and putting other s needs in front of
his own. This displayed his selfless and brave qualities.
The film is based off of a tsunami that occurred in Thailand on the 26th of December. The
Bennett family ,of five, went to Thailand for a vacation, but were welcomed with an unexpected
event that changed their lives in an instant. A tsunami occurs at Khao Lak as the family is
swimming in the hotel pool. Each member is swept away in different directions. It shows the
family trying to survive and find each other. Maria and Lucas were separated from Henry (father),
Thomas and Simon. Maria is severely injured and Lucas is desperately trying to get help.

Environmental Analysis Of American Apparel
American Apparel (AA) is a well known United States clothing brand that has gained recognition
among the retail industry. American Apparel headquarters is located in Los Angles, California
where it manufactures and distributes its clothing products. It is known in today s society, to be
sweatshop free and has a strong belief of workers rights. However, American Apparel has had a
downfall in the retail industry losing revenue. This research of American Appeal will provide
feasible reasons why the company should enter China international market to improve on sales
revenue. Companies such as American Apparel can operate in a certain environment that has a
formulation and implementation of a strong business strategy that can avoid restricted
environmental factors. This will determine the decision making of financial considerations,
promotion strategy, organizational structure, and the management style. The environmental
awareness is the starting point of environmental analysis. American Apparel has to take in
consideration that there are two environmental factors of the internal and external environments.
These factors affect the employees, customers, management, supply and demand. The environment
has a direct impact on American Apparel business. China is the largest market in the world, and
probably the hardest business environment. This narrative reflex China s immense diversity,

Firstly in the growth of microorganism is the lag phase, which is the slowest part. In this phase
there is no increase in the cell number and induction of enzymes to utilized substrate. It is very
important to decrease the lag period in industry to increase the productivity. To decrease the period
of lag phase some used to inoculate with exponential phase cell, pre acclimate inoculum in growth
media and use high cell inoculum size. The second phase is the exponential phase. In the
exponential phase, cells already adjusted to the surrounding and already begin to develop and
increase the number of cells rapidly. Also, the nutrient and substrate concentration are large. The
growth rate is independent of nutrient and substrate concentration. The exponential phase is due to

Teenage Pregnancy Rates And The United States
Even though teenage pregnancy rates have decreased in the U.S. in recent years, the rates are far
behind European countries. Studies have shown that U.S. teenagers have (a) high rates of sexual
intercourse at a younger age, (b) high rates of sex without contraceptives, (c) high rates of
pregnancy, (d) and high number of multiple sex partners in comparison to European countries like
Sweden, France, Netherland (Bell, 2009).
One of the main reasons for high rates of teenage pregnancy in the U.S. is the continuation of
ineffective abstinence based education (Bell, 2009) and not allowing teenagers to make abortion
related decisions. In the U.S. Eighty two percent of the teenage pregnancy is unintended and 37 %
of total unintended pregnancies result in abortion. Teenagers choose to abort babies because of
shame, staying focused on career, unstable financial status to support babies and not getting
emotional and economic support from parents. Twenty two percent of pregnant teenagers choose
not to tell their parents (ACLU, 2001).
Teen Pregnancy Prevention Intervention (TPPI) was initiated with the objective of reaching
teenagers to create awareness and help them make safe sex choices and prevent pregnancy through
comprehensive sex education. However, the policy of after school program has hindered in
providing effectiveness of sex education because most of the minority students are not able to
participate since they have to go to work and help their parents to support their family.

International Organisations Encouraged International Peace...
After the First World War, there had been immense destruction and loss of lives. The world existed
in anarchy, a solution was needed to prevent another disastrous war and maintain peace in the
future. The solution was the League of Nations that would ensure that there would be no scope for
bias and selfish needs of states to expand territories. The creation of the Leagues of Nations was the
first step towards what was going to become an integral part of International Society International
Organisations in the form as we see them today. With the help of the theory of liberalism, the
purpose of this paper is to better understand how International Organisations encouraged
international peace and amity. I aim to explain how globalization has made the theory of realism

Vertical Leap Essay
Learning how to jump higher in basketball is vital for many serious athletes. Even if the sport
does not require a good vertical leap, the muscles are surely to come in handy for the sport. There
is plenty of ways to improve your vertical leap, but if you want to see results fast, there are 3
muscles to focus on: the calves, abdominal muscles and quads.
There s a great deal of exercises for each of these muscles, however experts agree that these 3
vertical jump training exercises are some of the best ways to train your muscles.
The easiest of these training exercises is the calf raise. To perform this exercisetake a stance having

today s connected world, because they learn and move faster than their competitors . Watch the

and employee motivationto accommodate this type of structure. Refer to examples of existing

There has been a change in company culture since the 1930 s due to the rise of service industries

There is a hierarchy of authority and leadership as well as a strong chain of command. The
leadership style is therefore very authoritative and task oriented. The communication runs from the
top down and the workers at the operational level have no power in comparison to top level
management and CEO s. This works well in manufacturing companies because it is a relatively
stable industry and is suited to this rational and task oriented approach. The aim of the rational goal
model is to maximize output and key writers on this include Smith, Frederick and Ford.
The philosophy of Adam Smith revolved around managers finding the optimal use of resources
within organisations, with no regard for the well being of the worker. He advocated the division
of labour to increase productivity and wrote about this in his 1776 book The Wealth of Nations
where he used a Pin Factory as a model to illustrate the benefits of labour division. He proved that
when manufacturing is divided into a series of small tasks, such that each individual performs the
same task over and over again, the production line moves much quicker. This promotes efficiency in
the use of resources. However, he also discovered through this example that this type of repetitive
work has negative effect of workers intellect, happiness and motivation.
The development of scientific management by Frederick Taylor also played a role in defining

Computer Access and Information Storage
Executive Summary
Computer access and information storage has drastically evolved with the increase of computer
usage and internet access across a wide range of areas including homes, businesses, schools and
government departments. These changes make requirements for more specific laws to regulate the
use of computers and storage of data as well as new forensic techniques and tools to investigate
such offences.
Following this, computer forensic investigators are becoming a necessity for lawyers and barristers
as support in both criminal and civil proceedings. What legislation exists in Ireland to handle
computer crime?
Ireland does not have exclusive law that would deal with computer crime as such, but has two
laws that can handle computer crimes. Criminal Damage Act 1991 (the 1991 Act ) deals with
principal offences in section 2 and section 5 while Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences)
Act, 2001 (the 2001 Act ) covers computer related offences in section 9 and section 48.
Criminal Damage Act 1991
Section 2 (1) A person who without lawful excuse damages any property belonging to another
intending to damage any such property or being reckless as to whether any such property would be
damaged shall be guilty of an offence.
While section 2 above does not call out specific reference to computer related crime, the definition
in the statute regarding property does include offences relating to data.

Tiberius Sempronius Gracchus was bon in 163 B.C. and came from a distinguished family. His
grandfather conquered Hannibal, his father brought the Celtiberian war successfully to a close,
reduced Sardinia, and was elected consul for two terms and sensor for one. His mother Cornelia
was a woman of wide culture who employed Greek tutors to educate her sons, Tiberius and Gaius.
Two tutors who influenced Tiberius at a young agewere Diophanes, a teacher of oration and
Blossius of Cumae, a philosopher.
After taking part in the campaign of 146 BC, which ended with the destruction of Carthage,
Tiberius was elected quaestor in 137. Travelling through Etruria, Tiberius saw large estates worked
by slaves and noticed the absence of free ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The land was to be distributed to roman citizens up to a maximum of 30 iugera who had to pay a
small rent. Gracchus became very popular with the normal citizen who received land, however
as the majority of large land owners were senators, he alienated himself form them. Gracchus did
not consult the senate regarding this measure and instead brought it before the popular
assembly. His reason for doing so might have been that he believed it would get bogged down in
the senate, as it was a bill directly affecting their finances or perhaps it was because he only had
one year to act and realized the immediate need for reform. However Tiberius had friends in the
senate and it is possible that the bill may have got through if he had followed procedure and if
the senators put the needs of the republic before their own. When the bill was brought before the
Concilium Plebis, it was vetoed by fellow tribune M. Octavius, a large holder of public land. After
pleading with Octavius to withdraw his veto, Tiberius asked the people for the removal of
Octavius as tribune. The people voted in favour of his deposition and elected another tribune who
carried Tiberius

The Law, Morality And Fear Or Threat By Herbert Lionel...
Herbert Lionel Adolphus Hart, was a British Legal Philosopher and worked for University of
Oxford as Professor of Jurisprudence. Prof. Hart has written several books and few of his most
important writings are, Causation of Law 1959, Concept of Law 1961, Law liberty and
Morality 1963, Of Laws in General 1970, and Essays on Bentham 1982. This article focuses on
one of his highly appreciated work, Concept of Law 1961. The book analyses on the law,
morality and fear or threat through which the author is attempting to classify the question as to
whether the law can be conceptualized as the forceful orders or the moral commands. Prof. Hart
is of the opinion that all laws need not be classified as coercive or moral commands, there need
not be any logical connection between the Laws, and morality or between the laws and
coercion. He is of the opinion that by classifying all laws as either moral commands or coercive
orders will be misleading and mischaracterizing the purpose and function for which the law was
originally created. Different laws have different applicability as it is drawn from several sources
and there exists a purpose for which a law will be created. Laws are made to curtail the actions of
man, and to prohibit him from various kinds of actions. These are called duties which a person
has to do as he is bound by the law to do it. In case of breach of this duty, the law imposes a
punishment which a person has to undergo to keep an order in the society. The

These products always maintain their original natural flavors of their origin, (California) either as a
regional blend or specific vineyard.
Kendall Jackson consolidated its control over its supply chain by investing in barrel production and
handling its own distribution. Mr. Jackson was also a pioneer in establishing sustainable farming
practices in the vineyards.
Supply Chain at Kendall Jackson
The supply chain for this family owned business differs from the general wine supply chain
explained above given that their main strategy is to centralize and consolidate themselves several of
the stages in this process to maximize product quality.
1. Grape Grower
Kendall Jackson vineyards include 10,545 acres throughout California coastal regions, mountains,
ridges, hillsides and bench lands. These sites help draw a rich palette of aromas and flavors to
handcraft wines of exceptional depth and complexity. They currently grow Chardonnay, Cabernet
Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Riesling, and Merlot varietals.
Kendall Jackson uses sustainable agricultural methods ensuring that their vineyards will keep
producing the highest quality fruit for generations to come.
Each vineyard lot is kept separate at the winery, so it can truly capture the essence of each vineyard
site.

Society s Fate in Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
Society s Fate It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity
(Albert Einstein). Although the future remains difficult to predict, some ideas develop the
undeniable fate of society. Throughout Brave New World, Aldous Huxley explains predictions for
the future of society. The story begins by introducing Bernard Marx and his discovery of John, and
his mother Linda on the reservation. This unfolds into John realizing the degree to which society
has stripped their humanity. The emotionless society that Huxley displays depicts the nearing
future of society. Although the future will introduce many useful tools for society, the damage
done to society and personality is inevitable. Huxley s predictions about the future focus mainly on
the dealing with suffering, questioning true freedom, and perversion of spirituality.
Humanity deals with suffering in many ways, and many reveal damaging side effects. Just as in
today s world, suffering in many cases leads to abuse of alcohol and drugs. More specifically in
Brave New Worldsoma offers all the advantages of Christianity and alcohol; none of their defects
(Huxley 54). Although soma lacks the apparent side effects of drugs and alcohol, if analyzed
properly soma only offers advantages to the authority controlling the people due to the ability of
numbing society. Also, Huxley utilizes the comparison to Christianity and alcohol displaying irony
due to the fact that Christianity involves the soul

The Colossians Essay By: Kenneth Bernard Ridgell Instructor: Dr. Matthew Clifton Essay on
Colossians Topic Heresy Date: November 7, 2011 Ridgell 2 The city of Colosse was located in the
province of Phrygia; before the Christian era the city of Colosse was a principle city the Lycus
Valley. Being part of a major trade route in Asia Minor from Ephesus to Miletus, the city was
known for its production of textiles, especially in its purple wool. Larger cities such as Laodicea
and Hierapolis, made it a well populated and high business area in the Lycus Valley. With great
changes in the road system Laodicea became a more important trade city than Colosse. Once a

He is also the Redeemer (1: 14), the one who contains all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge
Colossians 2: 3. The purpose in writing Colossians was to express Paul s personal interest in the
Colossians to warn them against reverting to their old pagan vices, and to counteract both the
theological heresy and its practice within the church at Colosse. We live in a world where
religious confusion is ramped, just as it was in the days of the apostle Paul we are confronted
with false teaching without and within the church and as the early church rejected all forms of
syncretism because they were convinced that Jesus alone was God and the only way of
salvation, this truth was firmly stressed. Thus, as with the early church, so the church must not
tolerate the syncretism of our day. We can tolerate genuine pluralism, the idea that the religions
of the world can peacefully co exist, but not syncretism, the idea that the beliefs of various
religions can be combined. Our society wants a tolerance that accepts all beliefs. Tolerance can
be defined in two ways, legal tolerance is the right for everyone to believe in whatever faith (or
none at all) he wishes. This is important in our society, and we as Christians should maintain our
conviction that no one should ever be coerced into believing as we do. Another legal way of
tolerance is social tolerance, a commitment to

24 March 2016 The Voices of Sorrow For forty years, the world still turns a blind eye. The
majority of the world don t know who the Hmong people are. In history textbooks, the Vietnam
War isn t really emphasized as much as the other wars. It s usually a brief explanation of how
America went to Vietnam to fight a war against communism, but they never mention or consider
the Hmong in their history. The Hmong fought along side with the Americans against the war on

they are today. Suffering in harsh conditions, famine and fear. Not knowing if you re live the next

to do anything? I mean the Hmong in Laos has been in the same conditions for 40 years, what

and occasionally each other.
Each year on the first day, the leader of the realm chooses ten children aged ten years and
recommends them to the general of the Protectors Guild. The children will then undergo physical,

hair that reached to just above his bright green eyes. He couldn t have been any older than his
mid twenties. To you Beckett Gilliam, I saw a look of excitement pass over the young man s

Analysis Of Epictetus And Mills On The Way People Should...
2.) When we debate about Epictetus and mills work we tend to agree with both philosophers but
one of these philosophers ideas are better than the other. When it comes to Epictetus and Mills
advice on the way people should live life is quite interesting. Epictetus advise us on the fact that
some things are in our power and choice worthy we talk about clear thinking, right choices, right
aims, good character traits. Stoics believe that if we develop the habit or disposition of getting
our aims, valuations, and thoughts right we can experience happiness and understanding of a
better life. Also things such as opinion, aim, desire, and aversion . Since aim, desire, and
aversion normally lead to action, the action is partly but not entirely in our power. Character
depends on upon our opinions and aims, which are in our power; hence character traits virtues or
vices are under our control. The presence or absence of violent feelings moreover is in our power.
Some things are in our power and to be avoided confused or ignorant thinking, wrong choices, bad
aims, and bad character traits. Normally to be selected, but not when doing so would conflict with
correct thinking and action. These include but are not limited to health, survival, physical beauty,
good reputation, freedom from pain. Some things are not in our power. These include but are not
limited to illness, an early death, physical homeliness, and physical pain. Mill advice is about the

Brunelleschi s Dome Research Paper
It took me awhile to find the right article, but after some research, I found Brunelleschi s Dome
in National Geographic. The first question that I looked to answer was the motivation that led to
the discovery of the dome. To paraphrase what I learned from the quoted article of National
Geographic, there was a hole that was the sore sight of the cathedral in Florence. The name was
Santa Maria . In order to cover up this eyesore, the leaders of the Catholic Church held a
competition in which 200 gold florins were offered to the winner that could best cover up the
hole. After listening to many contestants, the Church finally chose Filipo Brunelleschi. He was a
young and irate genius, but he promised that he could build an inner and outer dome and
eventually he did. There were several questions that had to be asked; among them were how to
cover the whole and what techniques to use so that the dome would not collapse on itself. It was
not a task that was done in a day or even a decade. From the time that Brunelleschi was little, he
had tinkered around with gears and gadgets. Because of this tinkering around and his learning
from being a gold smith and studying architecture, he used his knowledge of the past and came up
with the idea of an inner and outer dome. It was supported by solid brick at the base and hoop ring
support at the top.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Total Control In My Last Duchess, And Wuthering Heights
In Macbeth, My Last Duchess, and Wuthering Heights the men characters want total control
over the women characters. They want to make them do and say any and everything they say.
Lady Macbeth treats Macbeth so badly. She knows that he loves her and wants to make her
happy. When she tells him to kill Duncan and he refuse and she has to do it she calls him a
coward (1.7.75 77). He goes from a good guy to a bad guy because he s wife was so rude to him.
She also talked him into getting his best friend Banque killed (3.3.74 83). In the story My Last
Duchess what made the man so jealous? He didn t like the way that she smiled at every man that
she saw (pg. 782 8 10). In the painting on the wall her cheeks are red which means she was a
bitch. His jealousy started to make him do dumb things. What made him more upset was that she

Discuss the Pros and Cons of Implementing a Nationwide...
Discuss the pros and cons of implementing a nationwide road pricing scheme The introduction of a
nationwide road pricing scheme has been extensively considered in the UK. Early deliberations in
the Smeed Report implemented road pricing in 1962 using a colour coding system. With
computing and telecommunications changes in recent years there is potential for the road pricing
scheme, which was a component of the labour manifesto in 2005 using satellite navigation to track
vehicle activity, to be developed and implemented. The concept of introducing a market for roads
through road pricing has become a highly discussed topic due to the complexity of the operation
and how it could revolutionise the actions of drivers in the future with a... Show more content on

People in a lower income bracket will be the ones who are hit hardest and have to change their
driving behaviour as the road pricing is independent of income, exhibiting price inelasticity. This
increase in inequality which could be a result of road pricing can be illustrated using the Lorenz
curve which shows the distribution of wealth, with increased inequality leading to a shift away
from the line of equality as shown by the arrow showing a higher proportion of income going to
a smaller proportion of people. There is a correlation between work flexibility and income so
people with less income will have to pay the peak time charges and the Lorenz curve will shift.
As the main aim of the scheme is to reduce congestion people may feel as though they are being
Priced off the roads. The Gini Co efficient shows distribution between households, it was
recorded that following the London Toll introduction, the co efficient increased from 0.2778 to
0.2785. Changes in road pricing have not been perceived well by the public in the UK. The
scheme has been viewed as an invasion of privacy due to the tracking technology. After a
referendum in Edinburgh the widespread political opposition was reflected in the vote: 74% of
people voted against the plan . An online petition against road pricing was signed by 1.8 million
people showing the depth of feeling against road pricing. However, with the highest fuel duty in
the world being increased above inflation each year, UK

Synthesis Tert-Butyl Chloride Sn2 Report
In order to synthesis tert butyl chloride, HCl is used in a substitution reaction to displace an OH
molecule that is connected to the tert butyl molecule. Substitution reactions for alkyl halides can
go one of two ways; an Sn1 reaction or an Sn2 reaction. An Sn1 reaction is unimolecular (only
depends on the substrate), and requires a very weak nucleophile, a polar protic solvent and favors
tertiary alkyl halides as the electrophiles. An Sn2 reaction is the opposite and is bimolecular
(depends on the substrate and nucleophile), requires a very strong nucleophile, a polar aprotic
solvents and favors primary alkyl halides as the electrophile. There are a number of factors that can
affect the efficiency of these reactions. An Sn2 reaction is affected

Social Classes
Education within social classes have grown exponentially apart over the last couple decades
because many different factors have been presented in today s society. Education plays an
important role in today s classification of social classes, but first we need to understand the
different levels of social classes. Social classesare often determined by education, occupation,
wealth, and your social network. These social classes are the upper class; top 3% and the
wealthiest, the middle class; 50% of the United States, and the lower/working class; typically
people of poverty, unemployment, and homelessness. Each level of class has different guidelines

These people are least educated and tend to live paycheck to paycheck. It is this class that you will
find people collecting welfare and living in government housing. Homelessness and unemployment
run high in this class. Anyone in this class lacks proper medical care, adequate housing, clothing
and food. Rarely will you find someone in this class that holds an advanced academic degree,
graduated high school, and are thinking about furthering their schooling into secondary schools past
the mandatory minimum education requirements. The lower class students are usually labelled in
school, as the ones who are uneducated, unmotivated, and predictable when the schooling gets
harder. This leads to the lower class students often feeling demoralized and uninspired to become
better, so they give up without even trying to succeed. With little to none support from their family,
most of these students start school unable to read, they test poorly, and are often absent a lot more
than usual. Education usually becomes of not of importance within this social group. By the time,
these students are actually eligible for special programs, grants, or loans they are often unmotivated
or disadvantaged and unwilling to accept help from others, which leads to the decline of education
in the lower class, further separating the educational levels between

  • 2. Dulce Et Decorum Est And The War Poem Analysis Individual experiences of war are eccentric and can be disparate which reflect upon the complexities and intricacies of World War II. These contrasting experiences and judgments have been demonstrated and explored thoroughly throughout both Rupert Brooke s 1914 war poem The Soldier and Wilfred Owen s war poem Dulce et Decorum Est . Poet Rupert Brookes, has displayed the ideology of honour through sacrifice resulting from patriotism within his 1914 sonnetThe Soldier . The poem was written at the beginning of the First World War in 1914, as a part of a series of sonnets written by Rupert Brooke. The Soldier illustrates the ideals of honour sacrifice and patriotism that were valorised during the period of WW1. Rupert Brooks 1914 war poem The Soldier , illustrates a conflicting perspective and judgment on the concept and ideals of Patriotism so commonly referred upon by displaying the vast patriotism and honour linked with sacrifice which affirms the hegemony of British cultural imperialism. Wilfred Owen s 1917 war poem, Dulce et Decorum Est , explores the conflicting anti war perspective through the vivid demonstration of the psychological and physical trauma inflicted upon those involved in the conflict of World War 1. Owen s 1917 war poem Dulce et Decorum Est , denounces the traditional belief in patriotism and the honour associated with giving one s life for their country which had become habitual during the World War II. This poem positions the reader to perceive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Social Effects Of Socialization Everyone in the world sees and has different opinions on an issue. Due to this people choose a party to express their beliefs and what should be done even if it doesn t cover all their believes. But even people can change their party and believes overtime due to socialization. Which is affected by virtually anyone like family, friends, political actors, and even policies the government establishes. As everyone is growing up they all experience different types of socialization and I am not an exception. I grew up with many types of Socialization and some had a bigger effect than others. But overall my socialization has been affected by my family, friends, church, and media. Even though at first i didn t know they had an affect on they way I think. I later began to realize that they do. Like that of my earliest political memory when in my old house I was watching tv and on the it, it was talking about the 2008 election and I remember seeing polls and the support every candidate had and one of them I remember seeing was Obama. My grandpa was also there with me and was saying that the Obama was winning in the poles. Even though I didn t really know what was going on I thought it was pretty cool and went for Obama because everyone I knew liked him. Here you can see that family had an effect on me because they agreed with obama and because of this I also agreed with him even though i really didn t know much about him and politics. Even now they are affecting me especially my dad ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These files are proprietary and cannot be read by any other software package available to the average consumer. If you use QuickBooks to store and manipulate your company s financial data, it will become crucial that you take steps to protect this data. Given enough time, the most reliable PC will have some sort of hardware malfunction. But what to do when the company file becomes corrupted? It is important to realize that using the same version of QuickBooks to restore the file as it was backed up is recommended and that trying to restore a backup file (QBB) using an older version of QuickBooks than the file was created in may not work. Obviously, you will need a computer with an installed version of QuickBooks. • 5. Why Is Running Hot Water Over The Metal Lid Of A Glass Jar Running hot water over the metal lid of a glass jar makes it easier to open the jar. Why? Discuss two other practical examples based on matter and/or heat concepts. Physics explains thermal expansion as linear dimensions increasing by the same percentage with an increase in temperature. In other words, when you heat an object, that object expands and becomes larger due to the change in the object s temperature. Raising an object s temperature, in this case, the metal lid, causes it s molecules to move faster. The faster molecules move, the more space they occupy. If something occupies more space than it originally did, then by definition it is now bigger. Therefore, the heat exchange from water to metal heats the molecules within the lid ... Internet can at least provide a huge resource for journalist, authors, musicians, photographers, producers, editors, directors and all information workers. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So rather than immediately displacing the printed codex, the advent of the digital book meant that the physical book could now flourish as never before. At the same time this change prepared the ground for a decisive future shift towards electronic reading. Dawn of the e Book The electronic book (e book), existing as a virtual entity stored in a digital file, began to emerge in its own right in the last years of the twentieth century. Like many new technologies it suffered from technical teething troubles, ineffective or inappropriate marketing, commercial rivalries that slowed its progress, and initial public scepticism or indifference. Gradually however the electronic book became capable of being read from an increasing variety of devices, and its vast potential began to be more widely understood. It became clear that the e book would represent the next leap forward in the onward march of the book. While it can simply represent traditional texts it can also become a layered and interactive multimedia experience. Indeed the book of the future could even be spontaneously assembled from multiple sources for specific educational or entertainment purposes, by a single reader or group. The e book therefore holds the promise of adding an unprecedented degree of flexibility to the concept of the book. The book is one of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are multitudes of other conspiracies, however, this one is evidentially proven to be true. Earhart s plane was never submerged under water or taken away from her since she was sending Morse Code signals for days after her planes disappearance. On top of this, many artifacts that have to be Earhart s or Noonan s, her navigator, have originated from Nikumaroro. Arm Chair Lineman Research Paper On any given Sunday, America has tens of thousands of arm chair quarterbacks sitting in their living rooms calling the shots for the NFL teams of their choice, but the arm chair lineman is basically unheard of. An effective offensive line is crucial to the success of any football team. Without a working line, many quarterbacks and running backs would not have the successful careers they now possess. The left tackle is the second highest paid playerin the NFL, according to an article in the magazine Bleacher Report (Salman, 2008). The exorbitant salary received by left tackles illustrates the organization s understanding of the necessity for a powerful offensive line. By putting in hard work and dedication to good grades in high school, you had high hopes that you would be able to get into an Ivy League school. They are relying on their parents to help them, but is there anything they can do? In order to get a decent paying job, you have to have a college degree. Many people will not be able to go to college full time because they have to work part time or full time to be able to afford college and can not move on to a higher paying job with out it. Low income students have always struggled with college bills. Financial and political forces are making it harder than ever to get a college degree, which is crucial to getting a high paying job (Philadelphia Inquirer, 1). It is extremely difficult to get a job and go to college full or part time, just to have a higher paying job. Many students hope to avoid a soaring loan debt. They work long hours; take courses part time and are commuting to college rather than living on campus. These compromises greatly reduce chances of earning a college degree in a timely manner if at all (Philadelphia Inquirer, 1). As a result, students must rely on even larger loan debt to get through school. Many students have to put off getting their degree and some never go back to get it. Graduation rates have dropped because of the size of debt that students acquire while at school. Students nowadays are expected to pay all of their tuition with no help. Porter s Five Forces Analysis Of Google And Google Porters Five Forces The rivalry among existing competitors: Many other web browsers or search engines are not able to meet what Google current is able to do with their advertising and how people search the web. People have a choice to use either website to find their information that they want or advertise, but nothing at the moment can compete with where Google s overall market share is. Yahoo and Bing are other substitutes in the market. When looking closely at certain countries like Yahoo, for example, Yahoo does not even make up 20% of the market. In the United States, since 2004 Google s market share has been above it competitors starting at roughly 35% which at the time was close to that of Yahoo. • 13. A Leader s Framework For Decision Making In the article titled, A leader s framework for decision making , the authors David Snowden and Mary E. Boone discuss the poor policy decisions at the governmental level and the challenges facing uncompetitive local firms. The article explains how managers rely on common leadership approaches that work well in one set of circumstances but fall short of others. In the complex environment of the current business world, leaders often will be called upon to act against their instincts. They will need to know when to share power and when to wield it alone, when to look to the wisdom of the group and when to take their own counsel. A deep understanding of context, the ability to embrace complexityand paradox, and a willingness to flexibly change leadershipstyle will be required for leaders who want to make things happen in a time of increasing uncertainty (Snowden Boone, 2007). • 14. Song Cycles Of Schumann I have chosen these two cycles to analyse because they represent the two side of one story, the masculine and feminine points of views of love. These two song cycles were composed shortly after one another. Frauenliebe und Leben was described by Gerhard Kaiser as: Her daughters of citizenry could find their womanly role in life sketched out for them, from first love, through wedding, motherhood and widowhood, to old age and death. Like Gretchen s song at the spinning wheel, these poems too involve role play. They portray a man s wishful image of women, prescribing to the point of embarrassment her path to exemplary status through subjugation to man. She finds fulfilment in self sacrificing service to him and in glorifying him. (Muxfeldt, p.28) Some points to conceder when performing Schumann s setting of Chamisso s texts are addressed in an article by Ruth Solie. You can t base your entire judgment of a person off of what they put on their body or how many piercings they have on their body. It s like saying just because this guy is wearing rings means he is too sensitive for the job because typically women wear rings not men. On this point Augustine departs from the earlier teaching of Cyprian, who taught that converts from schismatic movements must be re baptised.[95] Augustine taught that sacraments administered outside the Catholic Church, though true sacraments, avail nothing. Fear is an emotion that is, in our society today, unavoidable. Yet, this is precisely what creates an atmosphere of political or social unrest within the nation and abroad. Because, it serves as a tool by which ideas can be spread or perhaps forced down upon those easily convinced. The aim of the rational goal model is to maximize output and key writers on this include Smith, Frederick and Ford. The philosophy of Adam Smith revolved around managers finding the optimal use of resources within organisations, with no regard for the well being of the worker. He advocated the division of labour to increase productivity and wrote about this in his 1776 book The Wealth of Nations where he used a Pin Factory as a model to illustrate the benefits of labour division. He proved that when manufacturing is divided into a series of small tasks, such that each individual performs the same task over and over again, the production line moves much quicker. This promotes efficiency in the use of resources. However, he also discovered through this example that this type of repetitive work has negative effect of workers intellect, happiness and motivation. Computer Access and Information Storage Executive Summary Computer access and information storage has drastically evolved with the increase of computer usage and internet access across a wide range of areas including homes, businesses, schools and government departments. These changes make requirements for more specific laws to regulate the use of computers and storage of data as well as new forensic techniques and tools to investigate such offences. Following this, computer forensic investigators are becoming a necessity for lawyers and barristers as support in both criminal and civil proceedings. What legislation exists in Ireland to handle computer crime? Ireland does not have exclusive law that would deal with computer crime as such, but has two laws that can handle computer crimes. Criminal Damage Act 1991 (the 1991 Act ) deals with principal offences in section 2 and section 5 while Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act, 2001 (the 2001 Act ) covers computer related offences in section 9 and section 48. The book analyses on the law, morality and fear or threat through which the author is attempting to classify the question as to whether the law can be conceptualized as the forceful orders or the moral commands. Prof. Hart is of the opinion that all laws need not be classified as coercive or moral commands, there need not be any logical connection between the Laws, and morality or between the laws and coercion. He is of the opinion that by classifying all laws as either moral commands or coercive orders will be misleading and mischaracterizing the purpose and function for which the law was originally created. Although the future remains difficult to predict, some ideas develop the undeniable fate of society. Throughout Brave New World, Aldous Huxley explains predictions for the future of society. The story begins by introducing Bernard Marx and his discovery of John, and his mother Linda on the reservation. This unfolds into John realizing the degree to which society has stripped their humanity. The emotionless society that Huxley displays depicts the nearing future of society. Although the future will introduce many useful tools for society, the damage done to society and personality is inevitable. Humanity deals with suffering in many ways, and many reveal damaging side effects. Just as in today s world, suffering in many cases leads to abuse of alcohol and drugs. More specifically in Brave New Worldsoma offers all the advantages of Christianity and alcohol; none of their defects (Huxley 54). We live in a world where religious confusion is ramped, just as it was in the days of the apostle Paul we are confronted with false teaching without and within the church and as the early church rejected all forms of syncretism because they were convinced that Jesus alone was God and the only way of salvation, this truth was firmly stressed. Thus, as with the early church, so the church must not tolerate the syncretism of our day. We can tolerate genuine pluralism, the idea that the religions of the world can peacefully co exist, but not syncretism, the idea that the beliefs of various religions can be combined. Our society wants a tolerance that accepts all beliefs. Tolerance can be defined in two ways, legal tolerance is the right for everyone to believe in whatever faith (or none at all) he wishes. The first question that I looked to answer was the motivation that led to the discovery of the dome. To paraphrase what I learned from the quoted article of National Geographic, there was a hole that was the sore sight of the cathedral in Florence. The name was Santa Maria . In order to cover up this eyesore, the leaders of the Catholic Church held a competition in which 200 gold florins were offered to the winner that could best cover up the hole. After listening to many contestants, the Church finally chose Filipo Brunelleschi. He was a young and irate genius, but he promised that he could build an inner and outer dome and eventually he did. There were several questions that had to be asked; among them were how to cover the whole and what techniques to use so that the dome would not collapse on itself. It was not a task that was done in a day or even a decade. From the time that Brunelleschi was little, he had tinkered around with gears and gadgets. There is a correlation between work flexibility and income so people with less income will have to pay the peak time charges and the Lorenz curve will shift. As the main aim of the scheme is to reduce congestion people may feel as though they are being Priced off the roads. The Gini Co efficient shows distribution between households, it was recorded that following the London Toll introduction, the co efficient increased from 0.2778 to 0.2785. Changes in road pricing have not been perceived well by the public in the UK. The scheme has been viewed as an invasion of privacy due to the tracking technology. After a referendum in Edinburgh the widespread political opposition was reflected in the vote: 74% of people voted against the plan . An online petition against road pricing was signed by 1.8 million people showing the depth of feeling against road pricing. However, with the highest fuel duty in the world being increased above inflation each year, UK ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. Synthesis Tert-Butyl Chloride Sn2 Report In order to synthesis tert butyl chloride, HCl is used in a substitution reaction to displace an OH molecule that is connected to the tert butyl molecule. Substitution reactions for alkyl halides can go one of two ways; an Sn1 reaction or an Sn2 reaction. An Sn1 reaction is unimolecular (only depends on the substrate), and requires a very weak nucleophile, a polar protic solvent and favors tertiary alkyl halides as the electrophiles. An Sn2 reaction is the opposite and is bimolecular (depends on the substrate and nucleophile), requires a very strong nucleophile, a polar aprotic solvents and favors primary alkyl halides as the electrophile. There are a number of factors that can affect the efficiency of these reactions. An Sn2 reaction is affected ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Homelessness and unemployment run high in this class. Anyone in this class lacks proper medical care, adequate housing, clothing and food. Rarely will you find someone in this class that holds an advanced academic degree, graduated high school, and are thinking about furthering their schooling into secondary schools past the mandatory minimum education requirements. The lower class students are usually labelled in school, as the ones who are uneducated, unmotivated, and predictable when the schooling gets harder. This leads to the lower class students often feeling demoralized and uninspired to become better, so they give up without even trying to succeed. With little to none support from their family, most of these students start school unable to read, they test poorly, and are often absent a lot more than usual. Education usually becomes of not of importance within this social group. By the time, these students are actually eligible for special programs, grants, or loans they are often unmotivated or disadvantaged and unwilling to accept help from others, which leads to the decline of education in the lower class, further separating the educational levels between ...
