The Navy Marine Mammal Program (NMMP)
The Navy Marine Mammal Program (NMMP), located in San Diego, California, has been going on
for many years, beginning in the late 1950s, when the Navy began to study the unique attributes of
marine mammals, such as their hydrodynamics. By understanding how certain animals maneuver in
the water, perhaps the Navy could improve torpedo, ship and submarine designs (Marine Mammal
Program). The Navy soon realized that dolphins would be valuable assistants to their divers working
in the abyss of the open ocean. Unlike human divers, marine mammals are capable of making
repetitive deep dives without experiencing the bends, or decompression sickness, a condition that
arises from dissolved gases forming into bubbles within the body as a result from diving ... Show

Thomas I. White, a professor of business at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, states that
research demonstrates that dolphins view themselves and other dolphins as individuals, a mind trait
similar to humans. The new findings about dolphins should give them a moral standing as individuals,
not just a group, (Clemmitt Animal Intelligence). All of the new research surfacing about animal
intelligence and rights could give these animals, such as the ones in the Navy s Marine Mammal
Program, a new standing chance towards freedom

Symbolism Of Conch In Lord Of The Flies
Joshua Clark

The Conch
The conch is displayed as a major symbol in Lord of the Flies by William Golding. The conch is
brought up throughout the whole novel, but the characters never find out the real meaning of what the
conch is. The conch represents three important symbols throughout the novel. One of the symbols that
the conch represents is law. Law plays a big role in this novel. Another symbol the conch displays is
order. Order is displayed mainly in the beginning of the novel with the conch. The final symbol the
conch shows is power. Power is displayed throughout most of the novel with the conch. Law, order
and power are symbolized by the conch in Lord of the Flies by William Golding.
Lord of the Flies has a conch which symbolizes law. The rule of the group is that Ralph will give the
conch to the next person to speak. He can hold it while he s speaking (William Golding 33). The rule
applies to everybody in the group, so it is considered a law. This law, for some reason, applied to
everybody except for Piggy. Whenever Piggy tried to talk with the conch, somebody would talk over
him and nobody would tell the person that was talking over him to stop. They would let the other
person talk right over Piggy, and he did not like it at all. People always disrespected Piggy, even when
he was following the rules unlike the others talking over him. The conch is used just for this reason, as
a symbol of law.
In William Golding s Lord of the

Lindsay Case
Lindsay is asking to inspect financial documents for two separate legal entities, and she has differing
roles in both of the companies. Lindsay s role in the LLC is a co partner role. Thus, she could inspect
the financial documents of LLC; however, she has dissociated. Dissociation occurs when a partner
ceases to be associated with the carrying on of the partnership business and terminates his or her
actual authority to act for the partnership and to participate in running the business (259). In 2007,
Lindsay leaves the company, which means she has voluntarily withdrawn and completely abandoned
her duties. If Lindsay had returned a month or several months later, than she could argue that she

Analysis Of The Lewis And Clark Corps Of Discovery Expedition
Sacagawea was born in 1788, in what is now known as Idaho, as the daughter of the Chief of the
Shoshone Tribe. She led a drudgery early life and experienced many hardships. Sacagawea was part of
the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery Expedition in 1805. She traveled the northern plains through
the Rocky Mountains and to the Pacific Ocean and back. Sacagawea was a native american girl who
was taken to slavery at a young age and then went on to be remembered as a great women.
Sacagawea had a very different and difficult early life. The Shoshones were always getting attacked
by the Hidatsa and Minnetarees Indians. Most of the time, the Shoshones had all their belongings
destroyed and their members killed or kidnapped. She experienced ... Show more content on

She was on the expedition from April 7, 1805 until August 14, 1806. She was the interpreter and
served as a guide on the journey. She had negotiating skills, knowledge of medical herbs, and
knowledge of the terrain. She settled tensions between the explorers and Native Americans because
they saw her son strapped to her back and they felt the explorers were peaceful. She also did the
cooking for the other journeymen and made sure everyone was fed.
Lewis helped Sacagawea give birth to her son. Lewis wrote in his journal about five O clock this
evening one of the wives of Charbono was delivered of a fine boy. it is worthy of remark that this was
the first child which this woman had borne, and as is common in such cases her labour was tedious
and the pain violent; Mr. Jessome informed me that he had frequently administered a small portion of
the rattle of the rattlesnake, which he assured me had never failed to produce the desired effect, that of
hastening the birth of the child; having the rattle of a snake by me I gave it to him and he administered
two rings of it to the woman broken in small pieces with the fingers and added to a small quantity of
water. Her labor must have been so painful and scary at this age.
During the expedition Clark really started caring for Jean and asked Charbonneau and Sacagawea if
the could raise him as his old child and give him a good education. It was Clark who had nicknamed
him Pompey.

The Three Types Of Cheerleaders
No matter what type of cheerleader you are, all cheerleaders have the same role. A cheerleader s main
role is to motivate the crowd. Being a cheerleader has many different meanings, such as sideline,
competitive, and college. Whenever you hear the word cheerleader, you probably think of a image of a
little girl yelling and jumping on the sidelines at a football game; however, this is only one type of a
cheerleader. The three types of cheerleaders are high school cheerleaders, all star cheerleaders, and
college cheerleaders. They are all different in many ways which include different venues, skill levels,
and benefits.
High school cheerleading is where all the fun begins. The venues are usually held at a football field or
a basketball court. At high school football and basketball games the crowds are generally smaller than
at a college game. Most cheerleading teams are required to attend a cheer camp in the summer.
Depending on which cheer camp you attend, venues can vary from the beach to a college or even your
own high school. Some high school cheerleading teams are allowed to compete competitively against
other cheerleading teams. These cheerleading teams get to experience cheerleading competitions. The
cheerleading competitions consist of many cheer mats, lots of judges, and huge crowds. On the other
hand, skill level in high school cheerleading is not quite as elite as all star or college cheerleading.
Most high school cheerleading teams do not require a back handspring, but there are some
cheerleading teams that do require a standing back handspring or a standing tuck. When stunting in
high school, certain stunts are illegal, such as basket tosses with flips or flipping in a pyramid without
someone holding onto the middle flyer. Also, in pyramids everyone must be connected. There are
many benefits you get from high school cheerleading that include learning teamwork, leadership
skills, and discipline. Also some cheerleading teams get the opportunity to compete at the National
Cheerleading Championship. The National Cheerleading Championship is the most prestigious
cheerleading competition in the country. This competition is held at Disney World in Orlando, Florida,
and it is also nationally

This is usually the metal thick, triangular shaped slab of iron that forms the base over which the
electric iron is built up. The sole plate is cast of molten aluminium. Some part of the mould has the
holes shaped in it which creates the holes that are essential in a steam iron. Heated metal is inserted
into a mould under pressure then cooled and then released. This cooled sole plate is later on treated in
several ways where it s firstly polished then either it s: coated with a non stick material, or covered
with another metal (usually stainless steel). To complete these processes, the sole plates are put on a
large automated carousel, which rotates through each step whereas to polish the plate, an automated
belt sander uses bands of abrasive to polish and buff the plate. An automated spray painting machine
is used to apply the non stick coating. After application, the sole plate is baked in an automated
industrial process.

How Bipolar Is Caused By A Person
This paper is explaining how bipolar is caused, how to know if individuals have bipolar, how the
disorder in a person can affect others around them, along with examples and facts about the mood
disorder.
Bipolar can be caused by negative thinking and by a person thinking negative things about
themselves. There is a person who I know that can hardly think positive; this person is filled with hate
and hope others fail because, the person is miserable. Dopamine, serotonin, and also norepinephrine
are brain chemicals that can affect a person s mood. The person I know does not want to get checked
out but I feel there may be a few brain chemicals that are messed up. In addition, the disorder can be
caused by genes. The person I have been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of the signs and symptoms of the disorder are constant mood changes, restlessness, paranoia,
aggressiveness, having unlimited energy, irritability, remaining inactive, seeming a little awkward or
weird to others, rapid speech, and being delusional. I feel people with bipolar impact their friends and
family in a negative way. For example, there is a girl named Molly. Molly gets mad at Holly for no big
reason. Holly gets upset because Molly is mad. Later on, Molly then becomes really depressed that
Holly is upset. Holly feels bad because she sees Molly crying. Dealing with people who constantly
change emotions can be tiring and confusing. The most difficult part is dealing with random moods at
random times. There is one person I know who blame anything on everyone but this person feels like
they do no wrong and that they are perfect. This person takes time out their day to think of a whole
scenario to make a problem seem like it was caused by the other person. This person is always
suspicious of other people and cannot trust them at all; the person feels like everyone is up to
something or doing something bad behind this person s back. There is another person I know who gets
really depressed, they feel like life is not worth living, this person gets depressed too easily. All this
person need is someone positive to talk with. Once the person feels better, everything is fine. The

Max Weber Domination Summary
In Weber s article he claims that there are specific types of domination, which stress the importance of
establishing legitimacy as a leader, within a group of people. He supports this opening claim in his
introduction paragraph, in which he defines the authority of domination classified by the kind of claim
demanded (2). He ultimately supports his by breaking down the types of legitimacy in domination in
three distinct categories: Legal authority, traditional authority, and charismatic authority (3). He
supports his argument through theoretical examples in which he assumes the reader has a background
in. The assumptions include: knowledge of basic authoritative environments such as work setting or
school that are applied to his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While there are mentions of other scholars and works mentioned in his paper, the purpose of them
lacks full supplementation for his paper, as he only uses the scholars as a brief mention rather than
build upon their arguments. However, despite my critique on his broad theoretical concepts of
domination, his beginning definition of the three pure types of authority (2) did help in establishing his
a convincing argument that engaged with historical and contextual concepts of domination.
Specifically when breaking down rational, traditional, and charismatic grounds of authority, he is
careful to clarify each ground through its establish belief or example that is easy for the reader to
understand and also apply their own knowledge too. While he doesn t use specific examples from
books or other documents that could add more validity to his argument, his broader concepts work as
a good supplementation for a future research paper (3). The larger problem of this again is the
interpretive claim, which counters any solidifying argument of Webbers claims.
Domination, an interpretive word itself, is grounded in Weber s paper through three distinct examples
of authority that are broad enough to maintain an adaptive perspective on the topic itself. The
implications of this article help guide the reader to their own personal assumptions of what domination
is through a broad array of examples that are easy

Modern Clothing Garments Is The Classic Hoodie
One of the most popular clothing garments is the classic hoodie. This sweater that has a hood also has
a drawstring that brings many benefits to the hoodie like keeping the wind off the ears. However, one
downfall to this beneficial hoodie drawstring occurs while washing it. Many individuals who own
hoodies have experienced the drawstring being pulled half way out in the washer due to the rotation
and motion while being washed. Attempting to re thread a hoodie drawstring is rather frustrating and
can take a length of time. Even with home remedies and other options to rethread the drawstrings, this
is still an existing issue among many households. A perfect solution is a unique tool that has the
flexibility needed to weave through the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another flaw is that the string needs to be taken fully out of the hoodie. This makes the process longer
than it should. The next DIY solution uses a straw to re thread the drawstring in a hoodie. In order to
use this method, the string needs to be fully removed. Thorin Klosowski explains the steps to use this
method. After fully removing the string from the hoodie, place it within the straw and staple it in
place. Now take the straw, which has more flexibility than a coat hanger wire, and weave it back
through the drawstring path. Once again this method has flaws. Even though straws are common
household products, not every house has these on hand. Plus, if one is trying to fix their garment, why
would they put a staple through it in order to re thread the drawstring? The third DIY solution uses a
safety pin and is explained on Lifehacker by Patrick Allan. Once again with the drawstring fully
removed, attach the safety pin to the string by poking the pin through the material. Now that the pin is
attached, use this pin as a guide to feeding the string back through the material little by little. This
method requires a lot of time and patience and the string has to be fully removed. With the variety of
DIY solutions and the widespread pain of the drawstring coming out, few people have developed other
solutions. One solution, that already is patented approved, requires the entire drawstring to be
removed. According to the United States Patent

Acceptance Letter To Berklee Essay
On March 31st, this year, I received my acceptance letter from Berklee College of Music, one of the
world s best contemporary music schools. I was passionate about music since the age of nine, and this
passion drove me towards pursuing a career in music. Despite of my family s urge for me to take the
American standardized tests, so that I could apply to universities all across the United States, I
remained true to my conviction of applying only to a music school. Thus, my options were few in
number. But a (insert metaphor here) of relief struck me when I received my acceptance letter from
Berklee. However, looking at the price tag of attending Berklee, I began facing conflict within myself
and with my family about attending. Finally, after a lot of thought, I decided not to attend the
renowned music school in Boston. My decision to not attend Berklee was a huge set back, but had

Heat Fracture on Rocks
Background
Heat fracture is when an increase in volume is observed, due to an increase in temperature. Simply
meaning that while a material is being heated, the rise in temperature causes it to take up more space.
Heat fracture doesn t only deal with high temperatures, it also deals with the effects of cooling on a
material. If cooling occurs then the opposite of expansion occurs as well, the material will begin to
shrink or decrease in size. Continuous heating and cooling will eventually lead to stress and that
makes the material break or fracture. When the material going through this type of weathering is
considered being fractured, it means it s dealing with cracking or breaking of the ... Show more

It was believed that if the amount of time that the rock went through heating and cooling increased,
then the weight of the rock would decrease because while the rock goes through more heating and
cooling eventually it will fracture causing the weight to decrease. This is called heat fracture. The data
gathered did prove the hypothesis to be correct. For the longer trials with more minutes, the rock s
weight did decrease more rather than the shorter amount of trials. For example, the one minute trial
barely had a 0.6g difference proving our hypothesis correct, while the 15 minute trial had a significant
change in the rock s weight due to the longer time experiment. The graph seemed to gradually increase
according to the longer trials. The only outlier was the last trial because it had such a small change
compared to the other trials, although all trials did support the original

A more eye catching figure, often quoted by Ministers, is for terrorism related arrests . 289 of these
were recorded in 2014 (as against 223 in 2013, 258 in 2012, 170 in 2011 and an average of 216 since
September 2001).122 As I have previously noted, caution is required in relation to these figures. But
in 2014, 86% of those charged following terrorism related arrests were charged with offences
considered to be linked to terrorism, a substantial increase over the equivalent figure of 56% in 2013.
They were focused on the last quarter of the year, which saw 46% of the arrests under TA 2000 section
41 and 37% of all the terrorism related arrests. There was a large increase in the number of 18 20 year
olds being arrested, which more than tripled from 15 in 2013 to 46 in 2014. Continuing a recent trend,
the great majority (78%) of terrorism related arrests were under PACE rather than TA 2000 section 41.
This contrasts with the period 2003 2007, in which over 90% of such arrests were under TA 2000.
Two possible explanations are increased use of holding charges (identity offences, benefits fraud,
internet related offences) while terrorist offences are investigated, and the advent of certain precursor
offences under TA 2006 in respect of which the TA 2000 section 41 arrest power (which is limited to
the categories of person specified in section 40) may not be

Binding Problem Research Paper
One of the most important still unsolved in neuroscience is called Binding Problem . Scientists believe
that the different features present in sensory stimuli are represented and processed in separate parts of
the brain. For example, after we see a red triangle, the triangular shape is processed by a particular
cluster of neurons, and the red color is processed by another cluster. The question, yet unsolved, is
how the brain bind these distint representations and allows us to have the notion of one single object.
The same occurs for other visual features, e.g., texture, brightness, or for other features present in the
other type of sensory stimuli.
These neuron clusters do not necessarily have been located in the same region to represent the same
feature.
The most intuitive solutions to this problem would be to imagine that there is a special cluster ... Show

New Imperialism In Europe
New imperialism is often described as the quick increase and take over of land that European powers
had during the 19th century. New imperialism was a movement that erupted very suddenly. Many of
the European powers were actually opposed to the idea of taking over new territories. Of course, as
time progressed, all of that changed. Sense there was a creation of new nations; these nations need
resources to be able to establish themselves. Italy and Germany were the two new nations that used
imperialism initially. The change of balance cause more stable European powers to want more control.

The scramble was a plan to take over unindustrialized locations around the world and claim them as
colonial possessions. Eventually these lands that were taken over were used for their natural resources.
These natural resources were normally used for European industrial complexes. The way the European
colonists justified their actions was by using social Darwinism through natural selection. They
believed that the European race was more superior or stronger than any other in the world. This reason
is why they conquered Africa. Another factor for the colonization by Europeans was the missionaries.
The missionaries used a less aggressive form of social Darwinism. Missionaries felt that their purpose
was to civilize Africans and spread Christianity. Real colonization of Africa happened after the
Brussels geographical conference. This conference resulted in the creation of African international

Special Education s History
All children have the right to an education, regardless of disability. However, children with disabilities
have not always had that right provided to them. Research and knowledge based evidence throughout
the last century has greatly changed educators opinions and positions on special education. A key
point that will be discussed in this essay is the enactment of the Individuals with Disabilities Act
(IDEA), as well as current and future challenges of special education.
The initial creation and development of our educational system disregarded the needs of children with
disabilities. Because of very limited educational options, most disabled children were either educated
in their homes or their parents paid for them to attend expensive ... Show more content on

Additionally, schools cannot discriminate against children based on their race, culture or native
language (Heward, 2009, p. 19). This means that tests must be presented to the student in their native
language.
Children with disabilities should be able to learn alongside children without disabilities. Inclusion in
the general classroom for children with disabilities is required under the Least Restrictive
Environment principle (Heward, 2009). The only time a child should be moved out of the general
classroom is when his or her disabilities prevent him or her from receiving an appropriate education
(Heward, 2009).
Just as with all individuals in the United States, children with disabilities and their parents have rights.
Schools are required, under the Due Process Safeguards rule, to support and protect the rights of
children with disabilities and their parents (Heward, 2009). This includes obtaining the parent s
consent before doing any testing with the student, as well as providing student records to the parents
(Heward, 2009).
Lastly, schools must make a collaborative effort to work with students with disabilities and their
parents. Collaborating on all levels is necessary and includes planning, designing, implementing, and
evaluating the special education provided, as well as encouraging the child to succeed. Ensuring the

retirees to buy properties. There is a wide variety of selection whether you want to live in the coast,
the mountains or in one of Ecuador s bustling cities. The housing market in Ecuador is frequently
proclaimed as one of the best and cheapest to retire in and has been becoming more and more popular
for the last five years, with home prices appreciating annually by 10 to 12 percent. Therefore we have
chosen to enter Ecuador s housing and tourism industry. We believe this is a good time to enter the
market because of low cost properties with potential for high growth. As potential buyers seek to buy

Which would produce a 36% ROI after a period of 5 10 years. Compared to a Luxury property that
would sell for somewhere around 500,000 USD with no renovation cost which would generate a ROI
of almost 200% if resold at 1.5 million USD. It is estimated that after 5 10 years (possibly earlier) of
letting these properties appreciate it would be more efficient to buy larger more expensive properties
than many small cheaper properties. In order to get the same results with buying cheaper less
expensive properties you would have to have very rapid sales or you would have to sell at a price
which would be sacrificing desired returns. While it is hard to generalize, as every transaction is
different typically the agents commission is 5% of the agreed up price, and all other costs (legal fees
and taxes) are typically between $750 and $1,500 for a regular condo or house purchase. Annual
property taxes in Ecuador are based on Assessed Value and not on the actual purchase amount. The
assessed value can be anywhere from 5% to 50% of the real value of the property depending on where
the property is located. EX. if we purchase a property for $100,000 and the assessed value is $30,000,
the maximum property tax would be $300 per year. Property taxes are due on January first of each
year, and are not due until December 31

Advantage And Disadvantage Of E-Learning
Today e learning is mostly delivered though the internet, although in the past it was delivered using a
blend of computer based methods like CD ROM. E learning provides the learners with the ability to fit
learning around their lifestyles, effectively allowing even the busiest person to further a career and
gain new qualifications. Overall, traditional learning is expensive, takes a long time and the results can
vary. E learning offers an alternative that is faster, cheaper and potentially better. The term e learning
has only been in existence since 1999, when the word was first utilized at CBT systems seminar. Other

Space Jam Analysis
Movie background
Space Jam is an American comedy film in an action/animated format in which a basketball player,
Michael Jordan, and the cartoon characters from the old famous cartoon show Looney Tunes are
featured. The movie presents an alternative scope of history of Michael Jordan s initial retirement and
his comeback. In the movie, the owner of an amusement park in outer space, Mr. Swackhammer,
becomes desperate to find a new attraction to increase the popularity of his amusement park, Moron
Mountain, which then he gets the idea to bring the characters from the Looney Tunes. Therefore, he
sends his minions, the Nerdlucks, to bring them to him from the animated world Looney Tunes Land .
When they reach there, Bugs Bunny, a character in the Looney Tunes, tricks them into a competition
for the freedom of the Looney Tunes characters, in which Bugs Bunny took the advantage of their
small size and limited mobility skills to challenge them into a basketball match, where if they won
they can take them to Moron Mountain. The Nerdlucks as a result found a way to win, by stealing the
talents from famous NBA players, then Bugs Bunny knew that it s too hard for them to win, therefore
he thought of getting some help from one of the best basketball players, Michael Jordan. He then goes
and gets Michael Jordan, who was in a golf match with his friends, and explains the situation they are
in and Michael agrees to help them regaining their freedom. Through various training and

Through out the Great Depression there were many photographers, but one of the best was Dorothea

The Changes Medicare Needs
A number of changes to both state workers compensation laws and the MSPA would eliminate the
problems inherent in the current system. These solutions include modifying state workers
compensation laws to permit the parties to settle only the indemnity portion of the claim in states that
do not already do so, applying the MSPA only to cases in which the primary payer is legally obligated
to pay, instituting a safe harbor threshold amount for settlements, creating a right of appeal from
Medicare s rejection of a settlement proposal, and allowing claimant s to waive their rights to certain
treatments under Medicare. Any one of these changes implemented on its own would be an
improvement, but implementing all of them would create a much fairer system.
A. State Legislative Remedies The Medicare set aside requirement is intended to prevent workers
compensation insurers from shifting the expense of the claimant s future medical treatment to
Medicare. It is therefore only a hindrance to settlement when the settlement is intended to include
compensation for future medical expenses. Some states have enacted workers compensation laws that
permit the settlement of only the indemnity portion of the claim, ending the insurer s liability for that
portion while leaving the medical aspect of the claim open. In such instances, the insurer remains
liable for the claimant s future medical treatment, and there is therefore no potential for shifting the
cost to Medicare. As such, Medicare

of American history. King s tremendous work as a civil rights activist through non violent protest
changed our day to day life, and his words captured the entire American population. King was
persuasive due to his genuine nature and passion for his work, which is easily communicated in his

King does an outstanding job in communicating the urgency of the situation without sounding
personally impatient in his letter. His ability to create a sound argument without emotion makes his
Letter from a Birmingham Jail all the more provocative. However, that being said, King also does a
great job of establishing pathos. Introducing his letter, King states that he is responding to claims
made about his actions, showing that his letter has a direct action causing this response. He
continually refers to himself as a religious man with a strong reputation in the church. King also
shares an anecdote about his daughter, in which she questions why she cannot go to Funtown. Anyone
reading this letter is immediately aware of the tension negroes face in their day to day life. A parent
can t imagine their child asking them this question, and those without children cannot imagine
themselves asking it. King apologizes for the length of his letter, but also states that there s not much

as well as a family man fighting for his individual rights. This extraordinary man appeals to all

approved by the school district and written parental consent will be obtained for each participating
girl. Verbal consent will be obtained from each girl prior to each session where they will be told they
can leave at any time if they wish to do so. Sampling Technique Probability sampling was chosen to
generalize the results of the study to the population and investigate the relationships between Barbie
dolls and the development in racial identity and self concept. A qualified sample was utilized to
control who can participate in the study. The sampling method best suited to gather the participants is
stratified sampling to get an adequate representation of the population. The characteristics of the
segments included age, gender, ethnicity and zip code. In each year group, one third of the girls will

Proctor Argument Essay
As defined by the Merriam Webster dictionary, a proctor is one appointed to supervise students at an
examination (Merriam Webster.org, n.d). In the academic community, proctored exams are considered
the optimum solution. Once a student takes an examination under the supervision of a proctor, the
expertise has several advantages. Proctored exams validate the integrity of a student s entire transcript.
once a final examination is run by an objective proctor, it lends significant credibility to a student s
incontestable mastery and ability of the topic. When a student takes proctored exams, the expertise
demonstrates that the scholar will perform during this setting equally similarly as their traditionally
schooled peers. Hence, The UoPeople regulated the procedures of taking proctored exams and applied
a set of rules concerning the choice and the criteria of registering the proctor. University of the People

to the internet, as well as email services, and has to be be able to ensure attendance with the student
during the proctored examination. (University of the People, 2016, p.45). However, UoPeople has
constraints regarding the proctor s choice. The proctor cannot be a relative of the student, a student at
UoPeople or an applicant, nor can the proctor have a conflict of interest or have any vested interest in
the student s grade or performance on his/her exam. Students are strictly prohibited from offering the
proctor any payment or other benefit in return for the proctor s willingness to supervise the exam.

Periodontal Disease And Its Effects On The Body
Abstract
Periodontal disease is an exaggerated immune response to dental bacterial plaque biofilms. It is
broken down into the two categories of gingivitis and periodontitis. Gingivitis affects the gingiva and
is marked by a red, swollen, inflamed appearance. Periodontitis affects the entire periodontium and is
marked by clinical attachment loss. Autoimmune disorders are caused by a faulty immune system that
targets the body s own cells and attacks the host s organs causing tissue destruction. In both
periodontal disease and autoimmune disorders the tissue destruction observed is caused by an
exaggerated inflammatory response from the immune system. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune
disorder and periodontitis is a form of periodontal disease, both affect the bone and are caused by a
deregulated inflammatory response. The two are even linked to some of the same bacteria. Patients
that suffer from autoimmune disorders are more likely to develop periodontal disease due to their
predisposition to an exaggerated immune response.
Introduction
What is periodontal disease and how does it affect the body? Periodontal disease is categorized into
two different inflammatory conditions known as gingivitis and periodontitis. The body s inflammatory
response is triggered by dental bacterial plaque biofilms and it is this inflammatory response that is
responsible for the tissue destruction that occurs. The two different categories of periodontal disease
are similar

How Is Genesis 1-11 Related To Sociology
1. Genesis 1 3
On the sixth day of creation, God created Adam and gave him total dominion over the Garden of
Eden. After a period of time, God realized that it was not good for Adam to remain alone in the
Garden, and therefore created Eve from Adam s ribs. God allowed Adam and Eve to dwell in the
Garden of Eden but commanded that they did not eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and
Evil. However, a serpent later persuades Eve to pick an apple from the Tree, who then offers it to
Adam. God becomes very angry and casts them out from the Garden of Eden. The classical Disney
movie, Snow White, alludes to Adam and Eve. In the movie, an innocent and pure girl named Snow
White is offered a poisonous apple by a wicked witch. The witch claims that the apple was magical
and had the power to grant Snow White a wish. Snow White becomes convinced and takes a bite from
the apple, causing her to fall into a deep slumber. Both the serpent and witch used the art of
temptation, sin, and greed to lure their foe into committing wrong things.

possession, the calf, to God while Cain offers some leftover wheat that he had grown that year. When
God accepts Abel s offering and declines Cain s, Cain becomes filled with anger and kills Abel. John
Steinbeck s East of Eden, alludes to the story of Cain and Abel. In the book, Adam Trask has two
children named Cal and Aron, whose names are very similar to Cain and Abel . Adam clearly favors
Aron over Cal just as God favored Abel over Cain. When Adam refuses to accept Cal s gift of
$15,000, Cal become infuriated and kills Aron by making him join the army. In both stories, a murder

Milton Hershey s Positive Impact On Society
Despite what some may think, it is proven that Milton Hershey had a positive impact on his
community and the world in a various of ways. For example, he built the Milton Hershey school to
benefit underprivileged youth. In fact, this school is still in operation today and was originally opened
on November 15, 1909. Another way Hershey impacted the lives of many was through the building of
Hersheypark. This amusement park was established in 1907 and, like the school, is still in operation
today. On the other hand Hershey s Chocolate also left a huge impact on the entire nation and the
world and continues to be successful today. Evidently, his chocolate was innovating at the time
because it allowed more people to be able to afford chocolate, not just the wealthy. Furthermore
Milton Hershey s legacy would later impact the lives of a great deal of individuals in a positive
manner. If Milton Hershey had not lived, many youth and various families would not have the
opportunities that for a better life and pleasure.
In 1903, even before the chocolate factory was completed, Milton Hershey set aside a place for a park
to be built for his employee s for picnics and family outings. That is because Hershey wanted to build
a park as a pleasant environment for his workers and their families. Later, the space was used to build
Hershey Park. Construction on the park began in 1905 when a dance hall was built, and then a theater
in 1906. However, the park was not opened until April

The Doctrine Of Judicial Law
Before critically analysing the extent to which the doctrine of judicial precedent affects judicial law
making, one must first contemplate what the doctrine of judicial precedent is. The doctrine is a rule
that all lower courts are to be bound by the decision or ratio decidendi of the higher courts. As a result
of this, cases that are alike are decided in a similar way . However, it is not this simple, as it will be
seen throughout this essay that wider circumstances are involved that affect the judicial law making
process. Judicial law making (otherwise known as common law) is judge made law rather than law set
out in statute. The relationship between the two will be evaluated. Firstly, it is important to outline the
types of decisions that are made in courts. Decisions made in the courts are the starting point of the
doctrine of judicial precedent because it is these decisions that binds the courts in subsequent cases.
This can help the courts but can also hinder them when creating common law principles. Two different
types of decision making should then be outlined, these being rule based and reason based decisions.
When a decision is made it can either be made on the strict rules that apply to the situation or on the
balance of all relevant reason. Due to the doctrine, lower courts must take the former approach being
bound by the rules established in the decisions of the higher courts. Rule based decisions are
supported by Sir William Blackstone who observed the

Similarities Between Gibson And Alfred Bester
Alfred Bester and William Gibson are both prominent authors in the science fiction genre. Elements
such as science and technology advancements as seen through the space lens, megacorporations verses
a dystopian gritty underworld, and the anti hero protagonist in Alfred Bester The Stars My Destination
are echoed and further refined in William Gibson s novel Neuromancer solidifying the cyberpunk
subgenre. Women also have more respect and prevalence in Gibson s later book.
Both novels portray the rise of a rough outsider male protagonist against forces much larger than him
as made possible through the novel s dark and corrupt world. Gully Foyle in The Stars My Destination
is the sole survivor of a space attack on his ship the Nomad and his enormous will to survive allows

Gully is not a good person and will do anything it takes to get his revenge. However, this does fit
Bester s purpose for Gully s character. His eye opening speech towards the end of the novel does make
the message come across in the manner that Bester wanted it to. It resonates powerfully, You pigs,
you. You rut like pigs, is all. You got the most in you, and you use the least... Got a million in you and
spend pennies. Got a genius in you an think crazies. Got a heart in you and feel empties. All a you
(Bester 230). Despite this, Case is simply more dimensional. His violent acts and drug abuse are a
response to a more complex reason than revenge. Case also employs more empathetic behaviors
throughout the book. He does become at peace with his past, specifically regarding Linda. When he
leaves her the final time he gives her his jacket, I don t know, he said, maybe you re here. Anyway, it
gets cold. (Gibson 144). Case s relationship with Molly is also more pure and respectful than any of

Vertical Price Maintenance Case Summary
Resale price maintenance (RPM) also referred to as vertical price fixing according to Sheffet and
Scammon, is a controversial pricing practice for managing retail distribution channels . This pricing
practice as JedlickovĂĄ points out, involves vertical agreements between a supplier and its distributors
(manufacturer and her retailer) which establish a minimum retail price at which the latter will sell her
products . This trade restraint permits a manufacturer to limit the normal pricing behaviour of its
resellers and although common and essential in a market consisting of bilateral and multilateral
arrangements, the restrictive aspects of these agreements lessen competition, primarily, inter brand
competition .
Certain trade restraints, under ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An agreement between the supplier and a reseller could be considered both a vertical agreement
(between supplier and reseller) and horizontal (between a seller and a competing reseller). The view
that equates vertical price agreements with horizontal price agreements and hold that each should be
treated the same way under the antitrust laws has no support in antitrust economics . Since Sylvania,
lower courts have judged dual distribution agreements under the rule of reason, and the Supreme
Court has never addressed the issue expressly . In Leegin, the plaintiff argued that the agreement was
horizontal due to the dual character of Leegin s distribution: independent distribution through stores
such as the plaintiff s, and semi direct sales through stores in which Leegin s president had an
ownership interest . Some of the questions at oral argument suggested a sensitivity to the difficulties
of distinguishing vertically driven from horizontally driven minimum RPM agreements. Justice
Ginsburg noted that it was somewhat difficult to distinguish vertical from horizontal in this context,
that in fact, the agreement that the manufacturer made with the dealers was more successful in getting
a horizontal accord among the dealers than if the dealers had attempted it themselves, in which case
some might have held back. Justice Stevens followed up with a more pointed question: Why should
that be any different from the arrangement where those dealers all got together in the convention and
recommended to the manufacturer that he impose a vertical restraint of precisely the same
dimensions?

The Similarities Between The Ancient And Modern Olympic Games
While there are clear contrasts between the ancient and the modern Olympics there is still the respect
for the athlete striving to perform at the highest level. Today, the Olympic Games are the world s
largest carnival of athletic skill and competitive spirit. They are displays of nationalism, commerce,
and politics. These important elements of the Olympics are not a modern invention, as the first
Olympics was in 776 BC in Ancient Greece. After 1503 years, in 1896 the Olympic Games were
recreated as what we know today. The Ancient Games were once dedicated to the Olympian God,
Zeus Olympios and were staged on the ancient plains of Olympia, which is also how the word
Olympics originated from. The modern Olympics is the largest international sporting event, which
feature both summer and winter sports competitions in which thousands of respectable athletes from
over 200 different nations compete against one another. There are clear contrast between the modern
and ancient forms of the Olympic Games regarding uniforms, participants, religion, events, politics
and the concept of amateurism. However both the Ancient Greeks and the people in the modern world
still respect and admire the athletics achievements of the participants making the Olympics the most
highly regarded contest in sport.

Identify the key factors that help ensure the information required for the project is gathered
successfully.
Information gathering techniques are the core of systems analysis. According to Valacich At the
outset, you must collect information about the information systems that are currently in use. You need
to find out how users would like to improve the current systems and organizational operations with
new or replacement information systems. (p. 126). The first information gathering technique would be
individual interviews. Each interview should be well planned out. It should be scheduled when the
interviewee has time and the intention of the interview should be explained beforehand. An interview
guide or checklist should be created for each interview. During the interview ask both open ended and
close ended questions, listen closely to what the interviewee has to say, and take notes during the
interview. Interview a wide range of personnel from everyday users to management.
Another information gathering technique is directly observetion of the users in the current HR system.
By observing users using the current system different issues with the system can be seen that may
have been missed in an interview. Havelka says these observations will provide a more accurate
depiction of operations, requirements, and procedures within the company (April 25, 2002).
Analyzing business documents is yet another information gathering technique. Documents such as

Importance Of High School Football
Being a high school football player is difficult at times, but student athletes can make this very easy if
they want it to be. I played high school football all four years, and it was easy to me because I played
with my teammates in middle school too. Because of that, my team trusted each other and depended
on each other during the game of football. My football team was on its way to a state championship
because we came together, did our assignments in the game and worked hard everyday in practice.
Coming together was very easy for us since we played on the middle school team. We had spring and
summer workouts and practices every year. During the spring, we got together and tuned in our plays
that we ran from the previous year. During the summer the team had to spend the night in the gym and
wake up at five o clock in the morning to get ready for practice. The team got to spend even more time
together, and spending the night in the gym made us come together more. I was quarterback, so I was

I knew I had their trust. I still had to do my job though. I had to make every hand off and throw count.
As quarterback, I spent my time with the receivers a lot. Throwing down the field to the receiver for
the first time that year was spot on. When he caught the ball; I ran down the field and celebrated with

Re: Memo Report
My report has a 4% similarity rating. The items that are flagged are the parts where I repeat what the
assignment is. This is supposed to happen since we all got the same assignment. The only other area
that got flagged in my report is where I said I am a student at the University of Houston. This is
coincidental since every student in my class should go to the same college.
My report is not flagged anywhere else.
A PROPOSAL FOR RESEARCH ON THE FEASIBILITY OF THE TECHNOLOGY IN THE FILM
PASSENGERS
By: Julie Le
1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 Purpose
I propose to provide a report that discusses the feasibility of the hibernation pod used in the science
fiction film Passengers. I will also create a poster and presentation based on the topic I have chosen.
This report will fulfill the requirements for ENGI 2304, Technical Communications.
1.2 Background
ENGI 2304 requires a report that analyzes the feasibility of the science used in any science fiction
film. I will focus on the potentiality of hibernation pods in real life, mainly on how it could be made.
1.3 Scope ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then, I will provide a brief introduction about instances of human hibernation in real life. I will then
provide a plausible method to building one. Based off the information I find in my research, I will
compare the pod in the film and a potential one in real life. I will also explain why the subject of a
hibernation pod should matter to the audience. I will use statistics portrayed by tables and figures and
use images to explain my findings.
With my poster, I will mainly use images and tables. Like my report and final presentation, I will
discuss and compare the hibernation pod in the film and reality. I will use minimal writing and provide
key words in the form of bullet points to convey my findings.

Call Of Duty Black Ops Ad Analysis
Call of Duty: Black Ops, a high quality game full of exhilarating and intense combat. The Call of
Duty: Black Ops ad is pretty much a mini action film with neverending gun fire and explosions,
jumping from one action packed scene to another. However, instead of soldiers wielding assault rifles,
shotguns, handheld missile launchers, etc. there are everyday people, hinting at the title of the ad
There s a Soldier in All of Us. It was greatly anticipated that the Call of Duty: Black Ops commercial
ad would exhibit the same qualities as the videogame itself. The Call of Duty: Black Ops There s a
soldier in All of Us ad uses a diverse cast, over the top Hollywood style action, and thrilling music to
enforce the theme of the ad, creating a mini action movie to appeal to the consumer s need and want to
be a part of the action. The Call of Duty: Black Ops ad certainly incorporates the slogan There s a
Soldier in All of Us into the ad with a diverse cast. The ad uses a cast of people of different ages,
gender, social status, and cultural backgrounds dressed as regular everyday people in place of a cast in
soldier uniforms. According to David Vinjamuri (2015), the increased diversity in television, film and
advertising is based on sound marketing principles simply put, we are more likely to identify with
someone that looks like us (para. 6). The whole ad uses the persuasive technique Pathos to create an
emotional response in the consumer, (Rosenau, 2012) a sense of

All in the Family
All in the Family
In 1971, New York Times columnist Fred Ferretti wrote an article about a new television series called
All in the Family. Ferretti asked, whether or not if racism and bigotry were considered funny and he
concluded that it was not and as a result believed that the show was lacking good taste. Apparently, the
television viewers of America disagreed. Running from 1971 to 1979, All In The Family wasn t the
first television series to tackle major issues on a major network, but what was innovative about the
series, was that is that it hewed its situational comedy from topical issues, and it explored them
through characters we got to know and cared about every week. Simply put, All in the Family wasn t
just a great situational comedy; it as was an ongoing national conversation rooted in well written, well
acted and multifaceted characters.
In 1969, a young comedy writer named Norman Lear was given approval by CBS to create an
American version of the popular British sitcom Till Death Do Us Part. Produced and developed by
Lear, this concept of a sitcom about a blue collar family would eventually become, All in the Family.
Premiering in January of 1971, the series focused on the lives of a working class family from the New
York City borough of Queens, The Bunkers. Archie and his dingbat wife, Edith as well as their
daughter and little goil Gloria and her liberal husband Mike Meathead Stivic. Although, the storylines
of each episode were typically full of

My Freshmen, Sophomore, and Junior years were mostly uneventful except more the unmentionable
things that went on at home before I finally just left when my Junior year was almost over and ended

from their families until the people working there and your social worker can find another place for
you to go) where I stayed for a week before they enrolled me in their Independent Living program

as uneducated, juvenile dangers. When my dad found out that I was there he didn t care until he found

The Navy Marine Mammal Program (NMMP) The Navy Marine Mammal Program (NMMP), located in San Diego, California, has been going on for many years, beginning in the late 1950s, when the Navy began to study the unique attributes of marine mammals, such as their hydrodynamics. By understanding how certain animals maneuver in the water, perhaps the Navy could improve torpedo, ship and submarine designs (Marine Mammal Program). The Navy soon realized that dolphins would be valuable assistants to their divers working in the abyss of the open ocean. Unlike human divers, marine mammals are capable of making repetitive deep dives without experiencing the bends, or decompression sickness, a condition that arises from dissolved gases forming into bubbles within the body as a result from diving ... • 3. Symbolism Of Conch In Lord Of The Flies Joshua Clark Mrs. Norman Period 1 September 21 The Conch The conch is displayed as a major symbol in Lord of the Flies by William Golding. The conch is brought up throughout the whole novel, but the characters never find out the real meaning of what the conch is. The conch represents three important symbols throughout the novel. One of the symbols that the conch represents is law. Law plays a big role in this novel. Another symbol the conch displays is order. Order is displayed mainly in the beginning of the novel with the conch. The final symbol the conch shows is power. Power is displayed throughout most of the novel with the conch. Law, order and power are symbolized by the conch in Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Lord of the Flies has a conch which symbolizes law. The rule of the group is that Ralph will give the conch to the next person to speak. He can hold it while he s speaking (William Golding 33). The rule applies to everybody in the group, so it is considered a law. This law, for some reason, applied to everybody except for Piggy. Whenever Piggy tried to talk with the conch, somebody would talk over him and nobody would tell the person that was talking over him to stop. They would let the other person talk right over Piggy, and he did not like it at all. People always disrespected Piggy, even when he was following the rules unlike the others talking over him. The conch is used just for this reason, as a symbol of law. In William Golding s Lord of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Lewis wrote in his journal about five O clock this evening one of the wives of Charbono was delivered of a fine boy. it is worthy of remark that this was the first child which this woman had borne, and as is common in such cases her labour was tedious and the pain violent; Mr. Jessome informed me that he had frequently administered a small portion of the rattle of the rattlesnake, which he assured me had never failed to produce the desired effect, that of hastening the birth of the child; having the rattle of a snake by me I gave it to him and he administered two rings of it to the woman broken in small pieces with the fingers and added to a small quantity of water. • 6. The Three Types Of Cheerleaders No matter what type of cheerleader you are, all cheerleaders have the same role. A cheerleader s main role is to motivate the crowd. Being a cheerleader has many different meanings, such as sideline, competitive, and college. Whenever you hear the word cheerleader, you probably think of a image of a little girl yelling and jumping on the sidelines at a football game; however, this is only one type of a cheerleader. The three types of cheerleaders are high school cheerleaders, all star cheerleaders, and college cheerleaders. They are all different in many ways which include different venues, skill levels, and benefits. High school cheerleading is where all the fun begins. The venues are usually held at a football field or a basketball court. At high school football and basketball games the crowds are generally smaller than at a college game. Most cheerleading teams are required to attend a cheer camp in the summer. Depending on which cheer camp you attend, venues can vary from the beach to a college or even your own high school. Some high school cheerleading teams are allowed to compete competitively against other cheerleading teams. These cheerleading teams get to experience cheerleading competitions. The cheerleading competitions consist of many cheer mats, lots of judges, and huge crowds. On the other hand, skill level in high school cheerleading is not quite as elite as all star or college cheerleading. Most high school cheerleading teams do not require a back handspring, but there are some cheerleading teams that do require a standing back handspring or a standing tuck. When stunting in high school, certain stunts are illegal, such as basket tosses with flips or flipping in a pyramid without someone holding onto the middle flyer. Also, in pyramids everyone must be connected. There are many benefits you get from high school cheerleading that include learning teamwork, leadership skills, and discipline. Also some cheerleading teams get the opportunity to compete at the National Cheerleading Championship. How Bipolar Is Caused By A Person This paper is explaining how bipolar is caused, how to know if individuals have bipolar, how the disorder in a person can affect others around them, along with examples and facts about the mood disorder. Bipolar can be caused by negative thinking and by a person thinking negative things about themselves. There is a person who I know that can hardly think positive; this person is filled with hate and hope others fail because, the person is miserable. Dopamine, serotonin, and also norepinephrine are brain chemicals that can affect a person s mood. Some of the signs and symptoms of the disorder are constant mood changes, restlessness, paranoia, aggressiveness, having unlimited energy, irritability, remaining inactive, seeming a little awkward or weird to others, rapid speech, and being delusional. Holly gets upset because Molly is mad. Later on, Molly then becomes really depressed that Holly is upset. Holly feels bad because she sees Molly crying. Dealing with people who constantly change emotions can be tiring and confusing. The most difficult part is dealing with random moods at random times. There is one person I know who blame anything on everyone but this person feels like they do no wrong and that they are perfect. This person takes time out their day to think of a whole scenario to make a problem seem like it was caused by the other person. This person is always suspicious of other people and cannot trust them at all; the person feels like everyone is up to something or doing something bad behind this person s back. There is another person I know who gets really depressed, they feel like life is not worth living, this person gets depressed too easily. All this person need is someone positive to talk with. He ultimately supports his by breaking down the types of legitimacy in domination in three distinct categories: Legal authority, traditional authority, and charismatic authority (3). He supports his argument through theoretical examples in which he assumes the reader has a background in. While there are mentions of other scholars and works mentioned in his paper, the purpose of them lacks full supplementation for his paper, as he only uses the scholars as a brief mention rather than build upon their arguments. However, despite my critique on his broad theoretical concepts of domination, his beginning definition of the three pure types of authority (2) did help in establishing his a convincing argument that engaged with historical and contextual concepts of domination. Specifically when breaking down rational, traditional, and charismatic grounds of authority, he is careful to clarify each ground through its establish belief or example that is easy for the reader to understand and also apply their own knowledge too. While he doesn t use specific examples from books or other documents that could add more validity to his argument, his broader concepts work as a good supplementation for a future research paper (3). The larger problem of this again is the interpretive claim, which counters any solidifying argument of Webbers claims. Domination, an interpretive word itself, is grounded in Weber s paper through three distinct examples of authority that are broad enough to maintain an adaptive perspective on the topic itself. The implications of this article help guide the reader to their own personal assumptions of what domination is through a broad array of examples that are easy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This sweater that has a hood also has a drawstring that brings many benefits to the hoodie like keeping the wind off the ears. However, one downfall to this beneficial hoodie drawstring occurs while washing it. Many individuals who own hoodies have experienced the drawstring being pulled half way out in the washer due to the rotation and motion while being washed. Attempting to re thread a hoodie drawstring is rather frustrating and can take a length of time. Another flaw is that the string needs to be taken fully out of the hoodie. This makes the process longer than it should. The next DIY solution uses a straw to re thread the drawstring in a hoodie. In order to use this method, the string needs to be fully removed. Thorin Klosowski explains the steps to use this method. After fully removing the string from the hoodie, place it within the straw and staple it in place. Now take the straw, which has more flexibility than a coat hanger wire, and weave it back through the drawstring path. Once again this method has flaws. Even though straws are common household products, not every house has these on hand. Plus, if one is trying to fix their garment, why would they put a staple through it in order to re thread the drawstring? The third DIY solution uses a safety pin and is explained on Lifehacker by Patrick Allan. Once again with the drawstring fully removed, attach the safety pin to the string by poking the pin through the material. Now that the pin is attached, use this pin as a guide to feeding the string back through the material little by little. This method requires a lot of time and patience and the string has to be fully removed. With the variety of DIY solutions and the widespread pain of the drawstring coming out, few people have developed other solutions. The question, yet unsolved, is how the brain bind these distint representations and allows us to have the notion of one single object. These solutions include modifying state workers compensation laws to permit the parties to settle only the indemnity portion of the claim in states that do not already do so, applying the MSPA only to cases in which the primary payer is legally obligated to pay, instituting a safe harbor threshold amount for settlements, creating a right of appeal from Medicare s rejection of a settlement proposal, and allowing claimant s to waive their rights to certain treatments under Medicare. Any one of these changes implemented on its own would be an improvement, but implementing all of them would create a much fairer system. A. State Legislative Remedies The Medicare set aside requirement is intended to prevent workers compensation insurers from shifting the expense of the claimant s future medical treatment to Medicare. It is therefore only a hindrance to settlement when the settlement is intended to include compensation for future medical expenses. Some states have enacted workers compensation laws that permit the settlement of only the indemnity portion of the claim, ending the insurer s liability for that portion while leaving the medical aspect of the claim open. It is broken down into the two categories of gingivitis and periodontitis. Gingivitis affects the gingiva and is marked by a red, swollen, inflamed appearance. Periodontitis affects the entire periodontium and is marked by clinical attachment loss. Autoimmune disorders are caused by a faulty immune system that targets the body s own cells and attacks the host s organs causing tissue destruction. • 29. How Is Genesis 1-11 Related To Sociology 1. Genesis 1 3 On the sixth day of creation, God created Adam and gave him total dominion over the Garden of Eden. After a period of time, God realized that it was not good for Adam to remain alone in the Garden, and therefore created Eve from Adam s ribs. God allowed Adam and Eve to dwell in the Garden of Eden but commanded that they did not eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. However, a serpent later persuades Eve to pick an apple from the Tree, who then offers it to Adam. God becomes very angry and casts them out from the Garden of Eden. The classical Disney movie, Snow White, alludes to Adam and Eve. In the movie, an innocent and pure girl named Snow White is offered a poisonous apple by a wicked witch. The witch claims that the apple was magical and had the power to grant Snow White a wish. Snow White becomes convinced and takes a bite from the apple, causing her to fall into a deep slumber. Both the serpent and witch used the art of temptation, sin, and greed to lure their foe into committing wrong things. 2. Genesis 4:1 16 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the book, Adam Trask has two children named Cal and Aron, whose names are very similar to Cain and Abel . Adam clearly favors Aron over Cal just as God favored Abel over Cain. For example, he built the Milton Hershey school to benefit underprivileged youth. In fact, this school is still in operation today and was originally opened on November 15, 1909. Another way Hershey impacted the lives of many was through the building of Hersheypark. This amusement park was established in 1907 and, like the school, is still in operation today. On the other hand Hershey s Chocolate also left a huge impact on the entire nation and the world and continues to be successful today. Evidently, his chocolate was innovating at the time because it allowed more people to be able to afford chocolate, not just the wealthy. Furthermore Milton Hershey s legacy would later impact the lives of a great deal of individuals in a positive manner. If Milton Hershey had not lived, many youth and various families would not have the opportunities that for a better life and pleasure. In 1903, even before the chocolate factory was completed, Milton Hershey set aside a place for a park to be built for his employee s for picnics and family outings. That is because Hershey wanted to build a park as a pleasant environment for his workers and their families. Later, the space was used to build Hershey Park. • 36. The Doctrine Of Judicial Law Before critically analysing the extent to which the doctrine of judicial precedent affects judicial law making, one must first contemplate what the doctrine of judicial precedent is. The doctrine is a rule that all lower courts are to be bound by the decision or ratio decidendi of the higher courts. As a result of this, cases that are alike are decided in a similar way . However, it is not this simple, as it will be seen throughout this essay that wider circumstances are involved that affect the judicial law making process. Judicial law making (otherwise known as common law) is judge made law rather than law set out in statute. The relationship between the two will be evaluated. Firstly, it is important to outline the types of decisions that are made in courts. Decisions made in the courts are the starting point of the doctrine of judicial precedent because it is these decisions that binds the courts in subsequent cases. This can help the courts but can also hinder them when creating common law principles. Two different types of decision making should then be outlined, these being rule based and reason based decisions. When a decision is made it can either be made on the strict rules that apply to the situation or on the balance of all relevant reason. Due to the doctrine, lower courts must take the former approach being bound by the rules established in the decisions of the higher courts. Rule based decisions are supported by Sir William Blackstone who observed the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Elements such as science and technology advancements as seen through the space lens, megacorporations verses a dystopian gritty underworld, and the anti hero protagonist in Alfred Bester The Stars My Destination are echoed and further refined in William Gibson s novel Neuromancer solidifying the cyberpunk subgenre. Women also have more respect and prevalence in Gibson s later book. Both novels portray the rise of a rough outsider male protagonist against forces much larger than him as made possible through the novel s dark and corrupt world. • 38. Vertical Price Maintenance Case Summary Resale price maintenance (RPM) also referred to as vertical price fixing according to Sheffet and Scammon, is a controversial pricing practice for managing retail distribution channels . This pricing practice as JedlickovĂĄ points out, involves vertical agreements between a supplier and its distributors (manufacturer and her retailer) which establish a minimum retail price at which the latter will sell her products . This trade restraint permits a manufacturer to limit the normal pricing behaviour of its resellers and although common and essential in a market consisting of bilateral and multilateral arrangements, the restrictive aspects of these agreements lessen competition, primarily, inter brand competition . Certain trade restraints, under ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An agreement between the supplier and a reseller could be considered both a vertical agreement (between supplier and reseller) and horizontal (between a seller and a competing reseller). The view that equates vertical price agreements with horizontal price agreements and hold that each should be treated the same way under the antitrust laws has no support in antitrust economics . Since Sylvania, lower courts have judged dual distribution agreements under the rule of reason, and the Supreme Court has never addressed the issue expressly . In Leegin, the plaintiff argued that the agreement was horizontal due to the dual character of Leegin s distribution: independent distribution through stores such as the plaintiff s, and semi direct sales through stores in which Leegin s president had an ownership interest . Some of the questions at oral argument suggested a sensitivity to the difficulties of distinguishing vertically driven from horizontally driven minimum RPM agreements. Justice Ginsburg noted that it was somewhat difficult to distinguish vertical from horizontal in this context, that in fact, the agreement that the manufacturer made with the dealers was more successful in getting a horizontal accord among the dealers than if the dealers had attempted it themselves, in which case some might have held back. Justice Stevens followed up with a more pointed question: Why should that be any different from the arrangement where those dealers all got together in the convention and recommended to the manufacturer that he impose a vertical restraint of precisely the same dimensions? ... You need to find out how users would like to improve the current systems and organizational operations with new or replacement information systems. (p. 126). The first information gathering technique would be individual interviews. Each interview should be well planned out. It should be scheduled when the interviewee has time and the intention of the interview should be explained beforehand. An interview guide or checklist should be created for each interview. I played high school football all four years, and it was easy to me because I played with my teammates in middle school too. Because of that, my team trusted each other and depended on each other during the game of football. My football team was on its way to a state championship because we came together, did our assignments in the game and worked hard everyday in practice. Coming together was very easy for us since we played on the middle school team. We had spring and summer workouts and practices every year. During the spring, we got together and tuned in our plays that we ran from the previous year. During the summer the team had to spend the night in the gym and wake up at five o clock in the morning to get ready for practice. The team got to spend even more time together, and spending the night in the gym made us come together more. I was quarterback, so I was the leader of the team, so the had to look up to me. I was already friends with everyone on the team, so I knew I had their trust. I still had to do my job though. I had to make every hand off and throw count. As quarterback, I spent my time with the receivers a lot. Throwing down the field to the receiver for the first time that year was spot on. When he caught the ball; I ran down the field and celebrated with him after he scored. Have you ever wondered how much pressure you would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Call of Duty: Black Ops ad is pretty much a mini action film with neverending gun fire and explosions, jumping from one action packed scene to another. However, instead of soldiers wielding assault rifles, shotguns, handheld missile launchers, etc. there are everyday people, hinting at the title of the ad There s a Soldier in All of Us. It was greatly anticipated that the Call of Duty: Black Ops commercial ad would exhibit the same qualities as the videogame itself. The Call of Duty: Black Ops There s a soldier in All of Us ad uses a diverse cast, over the top Hollywood style action, and thrilling music to enforce the theme of the ad, creating a mini action movie to appeal to the consumer s need and want to be a part of the action. • 46. All in the Family All in the Family In 1971, New York Times columnist Fred Ferretti wrote an article about a new television series called All in the Family. Ferretti asked, whether or not if racism and bigotry were considered funny and he concluded that it was not and as a result believed that the show was lacking good taste. Apparently, the television viewers of America disagreed. Running from 1971 to 1979, All In The Family wasn t the first television series to tackle major issues on a major network, but what was innovative about the series, was that is that it hewed its situational comedy from topical issues, and it explored them through characters we got to know and cared about every week. Simply put, All in the Family wasn t just a great situational comedy; it as was an ongoing national conversation rooted in well written, well acted and multifaceted characters. In 1969, a young comedy writer named Norman Lear was given approval by CBS to create an American version of the popular British sitcom Till Death Do Us Part. Produced and developed by Lear, this concept of a sitcom about a blue collar family would eventually become, All in the Family.
