The Goddess Laksmi
Goddess Lakshmi is the Hindu Goddess of posterity, purity, and wealth. She represents physical,
material, and spiritual wealth. Lakshmi means goal, which represents the goal of life for the people at
the time, which was spiritual posterity. Lakshmi had many other names she commonly went by which
were Shri, Lotus Goddess, Daughter of the ocean of milk, Ocean born, Lotus, and Lotus bearer ( Who
is goddess Lakshmi ). Lakshmi was the child of Sage Bhrigu and Khyati, who were great gods
themselves. Lakshmi was married to Lord Vishnu. It was to be told that Lakshmi and Vishnu were
inseparable (Knapp). She uncommonly was the one who provided her husband with an eternity of
wealth ( Who is goddess Lakshmi ). She does not have many or any significant temples of her own.
She is commonly with Lord Vishnu in his temple (Knapp). Lakshmi is regularly worshiped in some
homes and temples. On the auspicious day of Diwali there is a colorful and religious ritual in honor of
her. ( Goddess Lakshmi )
When you see pictures of Lakshmi they are most often very detailed with specific items and signs
around her. Every detail in these pictures symbolize something specific. She is a girl that has four
arms and four hands. The four arms symbolize the directions in space. While the four hands symbolize
endings to life. Those endings are righteousness, genuine desires, wealth, and liberation from birth and
death. In Hindu these are called dharma, kama, artha, and moksha. In pictures she has

Application Of Magnetic Polymer Nanocomposites
Abstract Magnetic polymer nanocomposites have attracted broad interest for hyperthermic cancer
treatment because they are non toxic, biocompatible, and can be remotely heated by alternating
magnetic fields. The magnetic induction heating behavior provides a great benefit in biomedical
applications, such as targeted drug delivery, and magnetic separation. In situ formation of an organic
or polymer layer on their surface is one of the efficient methods for decreasing the aggregation
between the nanoparticles, as well as providing functionality on the surface and allowing further
functionalization with drugs and therapeutic agents. The most challenging task in hyperthermia is to
maximize the specific absorption rate (SAR) with a lower ferrofluids dose. Magnetic nanoparticles
coated with polymer layer combine the unique magnetic properties of multi functional nanoparticles
with self heating property. In addition, it is easier in preparation by a one pot process. The formation
of the nanoparticles with a higher SAR makes it a promising in hyperthermia cancer treatment. 1.
Introduction The outstanding potential of magnetic polymer nanocomposites stems from the ability to
obtain structures with the combinations of properties that neither individual material possesses. It is
possible to synthesize these nanocomposites in desired shape and size with controlled properties of
stability, surface area, magnetic, optical, and catalytic properties. The easy separation and controlled

Froyo Earth Job Analysis
I am applying for a position of employment at Froyo Earth. I grew up here in Chelan and was sad that
there were not a lot of healthy ice cream options. I would go to the Froyo Earth in Wenatchee and
every time I ate there I fell in love. When I heard about Froyo opening in Chelan, I was excited. When
I went in, the employers were always so nice and made my stay there fun. The employers have never
made me feel uncomfortable. If I got hired at Froyo, I would do my best to give people a comfortable
environment and let them have a fun, positive experience, like I have witnessed.
After my two and a half years of working at Company Creek Pizza, they have taught me well in the
department of customer service. I have had a great experience of working

Essay Emotion in T.S. Eliot s The Love Song of J. Alfred...
Emotion in T.S. Eliot s The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock
In his poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, T.S. Eliot subtly conveys a wide variety of Prufrock
s emotions; he creates pathos for the speaker by employing the objective correlative, which Eliot
defines as a set of objects, a situation, a chain of events [that] shall be the formula of that particular
emotion ( Hamlet and His Problems ).
The first stanza introduces Prufrock s isolation, as epitomized metaphorically by half deserted streets
(4): while empty streets imply solitude, Eliot s diction emphasize Prufrock having been abandoned by
the other half needed for a relationship or an argument (8). Hoping for a companion, Prufrock speaks
to the reader when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The eyes (55) and arms (62) that Prufrock claims to have known are synecdoches for women; since he
does not say he is familiar with their hearts, which would metaphorically imply experience with their
love, Prufrock only knows women physically. He gives one explanation for this by noting the perfume
and dress (65) that make him digress (66) from presumably his goal: instead of fostering relationships,
Prufrock focuses on sexual/sensual aspects. In spite of this, Eliot provides insight to Prufrock desiring
more than physical intimacy through the repeated mention of meals: toast and tea (34), tea and cakes
and ices (79), marmalade (88), tea cups (102); these references indicate a wish to no longer dine alone,
and Prufrock saying, Among the porcelain, among some talk of you and me exemplifies his aspiration
for domestic life.
Eliot explains Prufrock s isolation by hinting at the man s anxiety. When Prufrock says, There will be
time to murder and create, (29), he likely refers to the elimination of possibilities and the
manifestation of a consequent situation and/or problem; he could refer to, for example, how best to
use the time before...toast and tea (34), meaning breakfast, i.e. a night. Copulating would murder the
opportunity of talking all night and could create a problem in the form of an illegitimate child, while
sleeping would eliminate any options, thus forcing Prufrock to

Examples Of Manipulation In King Lear
Rationale
Humans are easily manipulated creatures. The inability to understand, perceive and interpret things
with clarity can be seen as a very dangerous flaw in the design of human beings, as this shortcoming
may lead to the demise of an individual or even a group of people. The manner in which vision and
perception of certain characters in Shakespeare s play King Lear is obscured, is a testament of just
that. Through very unique literal and figurative writing, Shakespeare clearly demonstrates to the
audience or reader just how easily deceived human beings can be. A perfect example of this revelation
is the character, the Earl of Gloucester, who is the helpless victim of conniving manipulation, cleverly
conducted by his illegitimate son, Edmund. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When we are first introduced to Gloucester and Edmund, the Earl introduces Edmund as his bastard
son while joking about the manner in which Edmund was conceived. We are made to understand that
this is Gloucester s routine introduction of Edmund to anyone who might want to know the identity of
his son. As revenge for always being the black sheep and joke of the family, Edmund decides to devise
a plan which sees him rise to power. This is a clear example of Gloucester s inability to realise that by
continuously mocking and devaluing Edmund as a person, he has brewed a strong resentment and hate
within Edmund. In a series of tragic events which unfold successively, Gloucester is made to believe
by Edmund that his legitimate son, Edgar, is concocting a plan to kill the Earl. Credulous as he is, the
Earl blatantly believes Edmund s fabricated story. This is a very clear figurative example of the
blindness aspect in King

Land Of Ur Research Paper
The land of Ur is one that, until relatively recent archaeological discoveries, has been a bit of a
mystery. The writings of Maimonides and Josephus both place Ur at different locations throughout the
Assyrian empire. It has been believed that Ur was farther north but archaeological evidence places the
land of Ur on the western bank of the Euphrates River in the southeastern potion of ancient
Mesopotamia. According to archaeological excavations, this was a place of great culture,
sophistication, influence, riches, and power. The people of Ur worshipped many gods but they
primarily worshipped the moon god, Nanna, and his consort Ningal. Ur was a massive influence in its
day, being a center of religion, culture, and economics that had an effect ... Show more content on

The story of Nanna follows that the old woman of Nippur, Nunbarshegunu, taught her daughter Ninlil
how to win the affections of the air god, Enlil. She succeeded but Enlil began to frighten her so she
refused his advances and he then raped her. The other gods were disgusted by this action and they
banished Enlil to the netherworld. Ninlil chose to follow him there, pregnant with their child. Not
wanting their son, Nanna, to live in the netherworld he chose to impregnate her with three other
children who grew to rule the netherworld as deities in his place while Nanna was freed. Nanna, the
moon god, ascended to heaven and (with his consort Ningal) became the father of Utu, the sun god.
Nanna continued to rule as the deity of the people and land of Ur. The city contained a massive
ziggurat, which was a mountain like temple that stretched into the sky (reminiscent of the tower of
Babel) with a shrine to the gods on top. The Sumerian culture believed that the god Enlil designed the
universe and that the water god, Enki, constructed the world. Enki creates the world and then entrusts
each place to a special entity with the moon god being the deity that people of Ur worship.
Ur is known as the premier city of the Sumerian civilization. Located near the Euphrates and the
Tigris rivers it became a mighty port city. The riches of this civilization are shown in the excavations
of the royal tombs where the kings, queens, and

Achieving Inclusion In Education
Inclusion is the provision of strategies and resources to ensure all children are given the opportunity to
reach their full potential irrespective of ethnicity, religious belief, gender, sexual orientation or
disability (Dean, 2006; Department for Education (DfE), 2013). To attain inclusion, individuals must
be enabled to fully participate in mainstream activities and to be valued and accepted within the
school community (Coyle, 2011). However, Barnard, Prior, and Potter (2000) acknowledge that the
process of inclusive education can prove challenging (Coyle, 2011; Simpson and De Boer, 2009;
Humphrey, 2008).
Under the 1944 Education Act, children with special educational needs were arranged according to
their medical condition (House of Commons, 2006). Many children were considered to be uneducable
in mainstream settings and were considered to be mentally retarded , maladjusted or sub normal
(House of Commons, 2006). Pupils with SEN were often sent to special schools and taught practical
skills as an alternative to standard education (Bateman, Lloyd and Tankersley, 2015). The Warnock
Report in 1978, followed by the 1981 Education Act, introduced the idea of special educational needs
(SEN), statements, and an inclusive approach to education (House of Commons, 2006). ... Show more

Medea Feminist Analysis
I know indeed what evil I intend to do,/But stronger than all my [Medea] afterthoughts is my
fury,/Fury that brings upon mortals the greatest evils (Euripides 35). In Euripides play, Medea, he
shows what happens when one is victimized permanently for something that they had done in the past,
and shows the he shows the power of revenge. Jason is the victim in this tragic grouping of events.
Medea punishes him, because she feels that he wronged her, even though her gruesome plans were
much more sophisticated and horrid than Jason s acts against Medea. Some may argue that Medea
would be considered the victim of Jason s wrath and terrible acts against her. They may believe that
she was always innocent, and that everything bad that happened, ... Show more content on

In Medea s acts of rage, she victimizes Jason, and others around her. She was immune to the fact that
she was going to kill her children, because she was focused on getting revenge on Jason, and making
sure that he suffered. During Medea s encounter with Jason, Jason is shown slowly crumbling beneath
the pain and agony that Medea had placed upon him, by killing her children. At this point, Jason is
pleading for mercy, and begging for the children s bodies. You who have had the heart to raise a sword
against/Your children, you, their mother, and left me childless /You have done this, and do you still
look at the sun/And at the earth, after these most fearful doings?/ I wish you were dead (Euripides 43).
Jason had shown his weakness to Medea, and she took advantage of that by slaughtering her own
children, so that she would get revenge on Jason. This placed Jason in an even more vulnerable
position, because he had to live with no family or power, because Medea ripped it all away from him
in a matter of minutes. Jason s future had been brought to an abrupt stop, and Medea was to blame.
Medea became an outcast, because she not only murdered her children, she devised a horrific plan,
that called for her children to bring death to the princess and king. Medea had affected many people
negatively, including people in her own family. In her acts of anger or under her horrific plans, Medea
was bound to hurt someone. While Jason is looking for Medea after he hears about the slaughtering of
his children, he exclaims, For your own brother you slew at your own hearthside,/ And then came
aboard that beautiful ship, the Argo./And that was your beginning... /For the sake of pleasure in the
bed you killed them./There is no Greek woman who would have dared such deeds (Euripides 43).

Domestic Violence Against Immigrant And Refugee Women
4. How can Canada protect and welcome refugees and newcomers? How can domestic violence
against immigrant and refugee women be prevented? Some of the ways Canada can protect and
welcome and protect refugees by; Making the status in Canada secure This means that Canada should
make permanent residency open to all including migrant workers. They should not restrict the
Permanent Residency to only those coming for high wage jobs. There should be a legislation and
enforcement to protect them effectively. The migrant workers should also be empowered so that they
can access to information and different services useful to them and access to justice. Permanent
Residency should also be opened to persons who have been trafficked. The law should provide
adequate protection to all trafficked persons so that they apply temporary resident permits, Can make
refugee claims and can file their application for humanitarian and compassionate consideration.
Canada should have broad, inclusive and effective refugee resettlement program The government
should resettle a significant number of refugees specially persons who are most likely to be abused.
They should resettle them without discrimination. Newcomers refugees should have access to
protection Canada should create opportunities for refugees to reach Canada. They should also have a
fair system without discrimination. Trafficked persons without permanent status should be provided

The Underlying Causes Of The Great Depression
According to the textbook, one of the underlying causes of the Depression was the crash of the stock
market in 1929. On October 29, 1929 the U.S. Stock market crashed and is known today as Black
Tuesday. During that time the most common credit extended to people was what was called a call
loan. The stock buyer would put down 10 to 50 percent of what the stock was worth and borrow the
rest to make full payment. If the stock dropped below a certain price the lender could call back the
loan, demanding immediate payment in full. Billions of dollars were lost by a great many people,
sending the economy into a tail spin.
Another factor was the problems with the economy. Agriculture had been in a severe depression for
years already and the industrial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the article one of the lessons learned is that just because you qualify to get a loan does
not mean you should get a loan. The Great Depression was caused by a huge credit bubble that finally
burst. Banks loaned money to Wall Street who loaned money to investors. Investors lowered their
qualifications for getting loans so more people took out loans. It was a cycle that finally collapsed.
And it is a cycle that is easy for people to fall into today. Many of us get a loan then we fall into
trouble and can t pay the loan back so we go take out another loan to pay the first one and so on and so

Arcadia Analysis
Introduction
Arcadia is an ancient play by Tom Stoppard regarding a distinct relationship between order and
disorder, past and present, certainty and uncertainty. This play has in the past been praised by critics as
the finest play with significant contemporary playwrights with regards to English language. Tom
Stoppard has also been recognized as the greatest living playwright in English language theater with
timely jumping masterpieces. His elegance allows his forging towards a unique comedy of romance,
sex, wit, scientific theory and poetry, and further introduces active characters whose passion for life
has been noted to intersect across may other centuries. The play is directed by Artistic Director by
name Michael Halberstam. Moreover, Arcadia has for a long time served as an ideal pioneer
production at a performance located in the Writers Theatre s new home, specifically the UT Center for
Performing Arts Centre theatre on 11th of March back in 2017, at 7:30 PM.
There are three main themes depicted in the Arcadia play, among them; Emotion versus Intellect.
Arcadia outlines two sorts of knowledge, the academic knowledge and the sex based knowledge,
which have been displayed as in constant conflict in the entire text. The intellectual sex justification
and marriage proposition have been termed as the main factors that create resolution between the
existing forces. The initial pages of the play put focus on the theme of love verses intellect. Thomasina

What Were The Implications Of The United States...
The Great War, later dubbed as the First World War , hadn t really piqued the interest of the United
States, as it wanted to be a neutral country to isolate itself from European affairs; the United States did
not want to be a guest in Europe s concert made up of artillery impacts, machine gun fires, and
homesick cries. But as ties with the Allies between the United States continued, the resent of the
Central Powers (especially Germany) towards the United States also grew. Though with the
introduction of new weapons, styles of warfare, and more technologically advanced boats and planes,
the gravity between the United States and the Allies grew stronger thus pulling the US into one of the

Not only that, but with the arms race that was happening, a lot of countries began to feel threatened by
the increasing powers of other nations. For example, Germany quickly trying to gain an able navy,
which threatened Great Britain, and not only that but because of this arm race, alliances such as the
Triple Alliance that had threatened France. There were also a lot more causes that also contributed to
World War 1, but amongst them all, the one that was probably the most important was the
assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The reason as to why it was and is the most important
cause to World War I was how much of a propulsion it had on the European countries to cause World
War I in the first place. To start off, the assassination of the Archduke was by a member of a group
called The Black Hand who were Serbian nationalists. During that time Russia had supported these
Serbian Nationalists, and Austria Hungary deeply hated them. This assassination thus causes an
ultimatum from Austria Hungary to Serbia (which then gets rejected), to which Austria Hungary
responded back with a declaration of war against Serbia. Russia then tells Serbia that they ll protect
Serbia (since they support them) and Germany states that they ll back Austria Hungary if Russia were
to intervene, which they do. Now since the Italy (later replaced by the Ottoman Empire) is

Temperament Categories
1. How would you describe your own temperament? (Do you think you were an easy child, a difficult
child, or a slow to warm up child?)
As an infant and toddler, I don t think that I fell under one temperament category. I spent my infancy
and toddler years in a village in the mountains of Mexico. In consequence, I had to deal with poverty,
lack of resources, and the absence of my mother for most of those years. For those reasons, I believe
that I probably had characteristics from of the temperament categories. My mother had told me that as
an infant if she couldn t find anyone to watch me, she would take me with her to the fields and leave
me at the end of her rows and check on me when she made her way back. Hearing these kinds of
stories makes me believe that I had to adapt and overcome many different situations depending on my
environment at that time. I can compare this to the goodness of fit theory mentioned in the book on
page 189. As an adolescent, I went through some traumas and I would describe myself to be more of a
difficult type of temperament.
2. How stable has your temperament been over the course of your development (Do you believe that
your personality today is similar to your temperament as a child)?

unstable. For example, I started ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Shinning And The Exorcist Analysis
Ever wanted to watch a good scary movie but don t have any idea on what to watch? The Shinning
and The Exorcist are two movies that could fit your needs for wanting to watch a scary movie. Even
though they are classified in the same genre, they still have differences. They have different outcomes
and their settings are different. The have one major thing income with each other though and that is
them both dealing with mental illness. While The Shinning and The Exorcist depict two to of the most
fearful movies, they still both show the reality of mental illness, and uses unrealistic factors to create a
bigger fear in our minds. Many scary movies have the same story line, someone is out on the loose,
gets ahold of a group of people and kills them off one by one. In The Shinning and The Exorcist that is
not the case. In The Shinning, it begins with just a normal family. The father, Jack Torrance, is offered
a job in a hotel during the winter to look after it. He takes the job. His family drives up a beautiful
mountain side and enter the hotel. The family is welcomed by staff and are given a tour of the hotel.
Wendy, Jack s wife, and Danny, Wendy and Jack s son, go with someone else to explore the kitchen.
The manager, Hallorann warns Jack that in 1970 the caretaker killed his family and himself after

Devil Wears Prada Analysis
The Devil Wears Prada

The famous scene shot here was when Miranda doesn t want to let go of her job and refuses to let
Nigel (Runway Magazine stylist) work with James Holt (rising fashion star) as a creative director and
instead offers that post to someone else. This part of the movie took my breath away emotionally. I
was as shaken as Andrea was in the film.
One of the best elements of the film is its pack of wolves; that s the cast. Each character, whether
playing a small or a big role comes off as relatable. For example, When Andrea loses herself and is
absorbed in swirling costumes, her boyfriend Nate (Adrian Greiner) and her college friends come to
her rescue. Nate explains to her how she has become one of the Runway girls she used to make fun of
in the beginning. Too lost, she comes with a conclusion of taking a break from their relationship. Her
friend Lily (Tracie Thoms) also refuses to support her and states her actions as demeaning. This
dramatic point definitely is reality. We see these downfalls happen to us, friends and everyone we are
close to. It connects with the audience easily.
The Devil Wears Prada comes with an edging climax where Andrea has to choose whether she wants
to remain this quintessential damsel or go back to who she really is. In the movie, we see Miranda tell

An Analysis of The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock Essay
The editors of anthologies containing T. S. Eliot s The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock invariably
footnote the reference to Lazarus as John 11:1 44; rarely is the reference footnoted as Luke 16:19 31.
Also, the reference to John the Baptist is invariably footnoted as Matthew 14:3 11; never have I seen
the reference footnoted as an allusion to Oscar Wilde s Salome. The sources that one cites can
profoundly affect interpretations of the poem. I believe that a correct reading of Eliot s Prufrock
requires that one cite Wilde, in addition to Matthew, and Luke, in addition to John, as the sources for
the John the Baptist and Lazarus being referenced. Furthermore, the citation of these sources can help
explain Eliot s allusion to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But though I have wept and fasted, wept and prayed,
Though I have seen my head (grown slightly bald) brought in
upon a platter,
I am no prophet and here s no great matter... (81 83)
The reference is not only to Matthew 14:3 11, but also to Oscar Wilde s Salome, the play upon which
Richard Strauss based his opera Salome. In the biblical account, no motivation is ascribed to Salome
for wanting John the Baptist killed. In the versions by Wilde and Strauss, however, Salome is
passionately in love with the imprisoned John the Baptist, who, because he will not let the temptations
of the flesh corrupt his pure love of God, rejects her advances. Wilde s Salome, determined that if she
cannot have John no one will have John, asks Herod for the Baptist s head on a platter. John the
Baptist spurned Salome s affections while he lived; now that he is dead, Salome lavishes her kisses
upon the cold lips of the bloody corpse head.
Prufrock, too, has had his moments of temptation: he has known the arms already, known them all /
Arms that are braceleted and white and bare / (But in the lamplight, downed with light brown hair!)
(62 64). And these very sources of temptation, these arms that lie along a table, or wrap about a shawl
(67), eventually emasculate Prufrock by rejection:

The Capulin Volcano
The Capulin Volcano interestingly enough, is apart of what s known as the Raton Clayton volcanic
field (RCVF), a collected scattering of other volcano s that stretch well over 7,000 square miles.
Located in Northeastern New Mexico, the Capulin lies dormante, although some believe extinct, since
it s last volcanic activity more than 60,000 years ago. Capulin underwent a rather large eruption that
formed its current 1000ft cinder cone shape, which gave way to a number of small lava flows and

Taking a look back to the past, although the history of each place are different, there is a common trait
that both area s shared around the same time. It is apparrent that not only was Colorado and the area of
Dinosaur Ridge submerged in water at the time of the Cretaceous period, but so was New Mexico and
the region that would be the Capulin Volcano. The rise in sea level covered much of the west and
connected one ocean to another and similar to Colorado, the sea level in New Mexico receded and
decreased periodically. When it expanded and covered an area, dark colored, fine grained, and thin
bedded marine sediments were deposited, [and] when the seaway contracted and retreated, beach,
river and delta deposits built out and covered the marine deposits (Sayre and Ort, 2011). Towards the
end of the Cretaceous period, the sea level dropped and perminatly retreated, much like in Colorado.

Frida Kahlo Husband Diego Rivera
Frida Kahlo piece Self Portrait on the Borderline between Mexico and the United States, finish in
1932 represents how Frida feels in the United States while her husband Diego Rivera Works. Frida
Kahlo paint is now located in New York and belongs to MR. and Mrs. Manuel Reyero. The original
image is a small oil painting on metal (11 3/4 X 13 1/2 ) (Hispanic Research Center, Arizona State
University). In her paints Frida Kahlo always shows how she feels and how her relationship with
Diego Rivera is. In this paint she is homesick and represents how she feels between the two countries.

She made this paint when she was accompanying her husband Diego Rivera to the United States.
Diego Rivera didn t have chance to be with her because he has lots of work. Been alone made her feel
homesick and she star to create this self portrait which represents how she feels at that time. As I
already mention, she divides the picture in two. Her right represents Mexico and it has lots of
symbolical representation. The juxtapositions of the sun and moon represent the Azteca culture and
how they believe that the opposites like man and women, life and death, define life. (PBS.org.). The
Pre Columbian temple represents the rejection that she has to European traditions. She also has two
fertility dolls and their position represent the cycle of life and death. In my opinion she paints this
dolls to represent how she feels because she can t have babies. She also has a Skulls that represents
Mexican culture of death. The skulls is in most of Frida s paintings. She painted because she has been
in the edge of death . I also think that she paint the skull because sometimes she wants to be death. She
was obsessed with her husband Diego Rivera but he didn t respect her feelings and he cheat her
several times. The flowers and the clouds represent the natural surrounding that Mexico has. In
contrast she represents the United Sates with machines, skyscrapers and smog that represents to her
that the nations is unfriendly and that the people that live there only think in work and made money. I
agree with her, although the people in Mexico don t earn sufficient money they care more about their
families. In contrast, Most of the people that live in the United States just think in work and how to
earn more money and forget about their family. Another Important detail is her dress on the picture.

All Quiet on the Western Front
The greatest war novel of all time, All Quiet on the Western Front, by Erich Maria Remarque, is a
novel that depicted the hardships of a group of teenagers who enlisted in the German Army during
World War 1. Enlisting right out of high school forced the teens to experience things they had never
thought of. From the life of a soilder on the front line to troubles with home life, war had managed to
once again destroy a group of teenagers.
Throughout the novel, we saw the men of the Second Company adapt to the harsh conditions of war
and fighting on the front line. The first instance was the men going to relieve the front line. It had been
fairly quiet for them, so the quartermaster requisitioned the normal amount of rations for an entire ...

Paul explains that every man is intimately acquainted with their stomach and intestines. Being that
they all had the same parts there was no need to be embarrassed. In addition to the effects of battling
on the front line, the teens were affected by the thoughts of their home lives.
Considering the boys were only eighteen when they enlisted in the army they did not have a chance to
experience life after high school. They had been cut off from life just as they were beginning to live it.
Paul remembers that as a high school student, he wrote poetry. He now has no interest in, or time for,
poetry, and his parents seem to him a cloudy and unreliable memory. Reminiscing about his home life
upset him. Paul soon learned that he would receive a leave of seventeen days; fourteen days leave and
three days for traveling. Paul also learns that he will not return to the front immediately after he is
done with leave but to a camp for a training course. After Paul learns of his leave he says farewell to
his fellow comrades. He begins to worry about if the men he has grown so fond of will still be there.
Despite all of this Paul packs up and heads to the train station to leave for home. As the train
approaches his hometown all the memories come flooding back to him. When Paul finally got to his

Medical Ethical Controversy On Abortion
Medical Ethical Controversy
A recent medical ethical controversy that resurfaces every few years is the debate of abortion. The Roe
v. Wade US Supreme Court decision in 1973 made a significant change to abortion laws, giving
women the choice to terminate pregnancy without requiring eminent health risks to the mother. (n.d.,
2015) The ethical debate of abortion continues even with the practice being legal.
The 2016 GOP elections are placing the debate of abortion back in the limelight. (Milligan, 2015)
Some groups of individuals have strong beliefs about abortion being ethically wrong and should not
be allowed as an option. As with any ethical dilemma there are strong believers on each side of the
situation. Pro life versus Pro choice is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The new regulations are aimed at the donation of the tissues from aborted fetuses. The release of
Planned Parenthood videos discussing this practice has brought much exposure to this practice. The
sale of tissue from an aborted fetus is illegal, unless the patient consents to donating the tissue.
(Ura/Walters, 2015)
Medical professionals that choose to work within the abortion industry are met with much controversy
and at times danger to their well being. The 1991 murder of Dr. David Gunn started several years of
murders, assaults and bombings against abortion clinics and employees. The irony of these individuals
committing murder to protest a woman s right to obtain an abortion, is blatantly obvious. The fact that
medical professionals have to fear for their safety because they are providing a legal service to
patients is ridiculous.
Whether a person would choose to obtain an abortion for themselves, does not provide them for the
right to make a decision about what another individual would choose to do. Personally I am a Pro
choice supporter and support any woman who deems that an abortion is the right decision based on
her individual circumstances. The ethical dilemma of abortion will not be disappearing anytime soon,
because of the strong emotions of

An Organization s Political Structure
Abstract
Budgets are needed by many organisations and have been used since 1922, they re considered to be
key drivers and assessors of performance within a business. They re mainly used in an attempt to plan
and control organisations and their objectives. An organisation s political structure is mainly affected
by budgets as the managers at the top tend to use budgets as a means of power and authority.
Traditional budgeting has both advantages and disadvantages; recently, critics seem to be against the
use of traditional budgets within organisations. This is due to traditional budgeting being assumed to
be very out of date; it has no way of being used in a contingency plan as it has nothing to do with the
changes of markets. If the market ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Traditional budgeting is also seen as a tool of repression (Lutz) as these critics attempt to disregard
traditional budgeting they still use it within their organisation; why is this? Traditional budgeting has
strengths and weaknesses but why do critics disregard the use of traditional budgeting but still decide
to use it?
As the traditional budget is criticised; most companies still do not attempt to abandon it to move on to
other types of budgeting such as zero based. They usually attempt to improve it. The points made on
this paper may lead one to think that traditional budgeting is not effective and cannot be dealt with in
this day and age but more than 80% of companies still use it. A survey on 8000 managers in different
companies within America was released in 2010 (paper 1). Out of the managers who responded to the
survey; 6400 of them claimed that traditional budgeting was useful. 400 claimed that they were going
to abandon it and 8 managers responded saying that they were going to abandon traditional budgeting
within the next couple of years.
Traditional budgets are based on past performances but also take into consideration global rates such
as inflation rates. They are also moulded for the future; this is usually for a period of one year. It
attempts to list budgets for different organisations and these are what higher managers base their
judgement on for the managers that of lower hierarchy. This is through goals and plans

Essay on Terrorism and the Economy
Many investigations and research have been done in an effort to discover and defend against terrorism.
Through my research I have discovered a plethora of literature that confirms this notion. This review
will focus primarily on two different aspects that work coherently to frame the big picture of our
nation s Achilles heel, better known as the southwestern border. These two aspects are: Muslim
extremist targeted recruits and how the United States economy is intertwined. The selection of
literature that I have compiled is contextually different, because they are used for various other
reasons. My purpose here is to extrapolate pertinent findings and utilize them to reinforce the

As a nation it is essential that we use what we gather and combine with what we have already learned
from history to grow.
You may wonder, How can Middle Eastern terrorist organizations use the ease of access of the
southwestern U.S. border to launch a major, successful attack? Before considering Al Qaeda s
operational tactics, it is equally important to take a look at recruiting methods and targets. I will
analyze Targeting the Poor: How Al Qaeda Would Recruit from Latin America by Freddy Paniagua.
The U.S. Department of State and experts on terrorism have suggested that the poor are a potential
source of recruits for political and Islamic fundamentalist terrorist organizations (Paniagua 2006, 1).
In this publication, Paniagua uses Bayat s classification to explain the dynamics of the poor of Latin
America. Paniagua shows how Bayat argues that the passive poor will typically be content with their
way of life and continue to struggle to survive. The political poor utilize the political process to their
perceived advantage by voting for the party they fell is able to alleviate the burdens of poverty.
Regarding the resisting poor, they typically strive for the opposition of the political and social system.
The resisting poor may even resort to radical behavior to remove the current powers. The current
situation in Syria is a great example of the resisting poor. Lastly, the surviving poor who resort to

Teaching, Learning, And Student Centered Approaches Essay
Introduction
Throughout this semester, I spent approximately 20 hours aiding teachers as well as learning the
importance of planning. Although teaching is the foundation that we see for the students, it is
important to understand that all of the teaching that occurs can not be done without the planning. This
essay will be informative of the planning, techniques, and models 1st grade English teachers at the
World Language Academy use to be most effective on the students they are teaching, as well as also
explaining the diversity among the students and teachers and how that affects both learning and
teaching. What is so significant about this, in my opinion, is that the classroom I was in uses a mixture
of direct instruction, cooperative learning, and student centered approaches. All of these methods in
one classroom make for a very successful teacher.
World Language Academy
The World Language Academy is an early education (grades K 5) school. The World Language
Academy, or WLA, is an academy that teaches all classes in both English and Spanish. Though not all
teachers can speak both languages, the students are taught both ways in order to excel in the real world
as they become older. As you walk into this building, the receptionist, casually dressed, giving you a
warm homey feel, welcomes you. As you walk down the halls, all covered with drawings, projects,
and poems, you can sense the determination of children and adults without even walking into a
classroom. Curriculum

The Cultural take over of Ireland by the British Empire is a central issue in Translations. Friel

Hugh refuses to translate the word always for
Maire showing that he is very aware of the change that surrounds the
Irish, believing that it is a silly word under the inconstant circumstances. Therefore his drunken
weakness can be seen as a result of the English colonisation and is pro Irish.
The character of Manus is rather more complicated than that of Hugh and our perception of him
changes as the play develops. During the play Manus refuses to apply for a job at the international
school his father applied for because he felt that he couldn t go up against him . This enforces Manus
loyalty towards his father and perhaps is an indication of Irish faithfulness compared to English
disloyalty; disloyalty which is seen when Yolland explains that his father got him a job but he missed
the boat and, not being able to return home and face him, joined the army. Yolland also shows
disloyalty to his own country and language when he decides that there is no English equivalent for a
sound like Bun na hAbhann and wishes to live in

for his capacity to embrace other cultures. We also respect Manus for his sense of duty and loyalty
towards Ireland. Friel plays with our emotions in this way making us hypocritical as

The Basic Elements Of Tqm Essay
Later, they have realized that TQM is much more than just shop floor improvements. The definitions
of quality incorporate factors like top management commitment, leadership, team work, training and
development, rewards and recognition, involvement and empowerment of employees etc. These
critical factors are the foundation for transformational orientation to create a sustainable improvement
culture for competitive advantage on a continuous basis.
According to Selladurai Raj, TQM interventions or activities must be guided by four change
principles, namely work processes, variability, analysis, and continuous improvement. Product design
and production processes must be improved; variance must be controlled to ensure high quality; data
must be systematically collected and analyzed in a problem solving cycle; and commitment made to
continuous learning by the employees about their work [25].
Different consultants and schools of thought emphasize different aspects of TQM as it has developed
over time. These aspects may be technical, operational, or social/managerial. The basic elements of
TQM, as expounded by the American Society for Quality Control, are 1) policy, planning, and
administration; 2) product design and design change control; 3) control of purchased material; 4)
production quality control; 5) user contact and field performance; 6) corrective action; and 7)
employee selection, training, and motivation.

Daniel Gilbert Analysis
Something Socrates said about happiness was similar to that of Daniel Gilbert. Socrates believed that
in order to be happy and live a good life, you need to live a life of contemplation and self evaluation.
He worded it as developing the soul, which basically means work on yourself and just be able to
reflect, and develop your ideas. I believe this is similar to Gilbert because they both understood the
importance of self reflection in leading you to happiness. For Gilbert, reflecting on what you ve
experienced and talking to other people will help you determine your own definition of what makes
you happy. This is similar to gilbert because they both involve self reflection to develop ideas. A
difference between the two however, is that Daniel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For Epictetus this applies to life in general, things like family deaths, deaths of loved ones, etc. Dan
Ariely s form of uncontrollable destiny is the inability to control actions you make in the future. This
means not being able to control your desire to snooze, your desire to procrastinate, and your desire to
eat something really unhealthy. Basically things like new year s resolutions are all pointless because
our future selves will never actually deal with what we planned. The difference between these two are
that Ariely s type is actually controllable, contrary to what I just said. Controllable in the sense that
you have to counteract the destiny with another destiny. For example, if you know for sure that you
are going to snooze the next morning, you create an alarm clock that is super loud and you put it in
another room. This makes it so your future self has no choice but to get up and go get the alarm clock.
Whereas Epictetus s type of destiny is truly uncontrollable. The only way to find happiness through
this type of destiny is to mold your desires and expectations to the reality of your situation. This
means having things like realistic goals and realistic relationships. So these two are both aware of
having to deal with uncontrollable situations. Dan Ariely is a living example since he was a burn
victim that managed to overcome his pain and is able to inspire others from the

Hello Professor Brown, You asked me to respond to the following, When you talk about each agency
is one covered by insurance? Or are they both paid for out of pocket? Regardless of which form of

services offered. Adult day care is normally payed for out of pocket with help from government
programs like the Veterans Health Administration, the Old American Act, and Medicaid (Department

Diligence should be placed on the delicate and fragile similarities of physical, social, and
psychological disorder or dysfunction throughout segment of each generation. For the most part,
health alter how human experiences are framed by the interlocking nature of individual trajectories
and kinship networks in the context of temporal motion, culture, and social change (McGoldrick,
Preto, Carter, 2016, p. 1).
Looking at family structure, early generations raised their children with stay at home mothers,
working fathers, and neighbors as extended family. The middle generations have the complexity of
expanding their immediate family, managing elderly care, and later down the line supporting their
older children and their extended families. The younger generations are consumed with self insecurity
with the need to feel wanted.
Although throughout life transitions boundaries change, family relationship become strained, and roles
within family dynamics are constantly being altered and redefined. Family dynamic does not consist
of mother, father, and biological child or children. People are no longer calling or identifying their

Analysis Of Ihara Saikaku s Life Of A Sensuous Woman, And...
In Ihara Saikaku s story, Life of a Sensuous Woman, and Mary Wollstonecraft s work, Vindication of
the Rights of Woman , the issue of double standards in gender are examined. Both pieces offer a
perspective into the lives of women during their respective times and show how some standards that
are considered favorable for men, are looked down upon for women. In particular, the two works
examine how women were treated differently based on their education, their social status and even
their sexual history. Saikaku looks at these issues in a different lens from Wollstonecraft, based on his
experiences as a man living in Japan in the 17th century. Their experiences shape their works and
show how the issue of double standards of gender span culture, time and geography.
In Wollstonecraft s work, she addresses the differences between men and women as being something
that should be considered negligible, but instead is used to practically enslave one half of the
population. The work details how women are akin to playthings when they lack an education, and that
for her to truly be herself and practice her own free will, she must be knowledgeable. However, there
are many different kinds of education, Wollstonecraft points out. Men received a formal education,
consisting of a proper teaching of many subjects, while also aiding the young men in personal growth.
Women, on the other hand, received a much less formal education. In their day to day lives, women

Dichotomy In Lysistrata
The ancient Greeks had very clear ideas about many things in life. In particular, this clarity can be
exemplified as a binary system of worldview by looking at things in black and white perspectives to
avoid ambiguity. A person is either free or a slave, a native Greek or a foreigner, rich or poor, royalty
or not, and in the case of gender, either a man or a woman. This kind of dichotomy was a good way to
impose social order and maintain harmony in Greek society because their social hierarchy was quite
rigid. However, from the early myth of Hesiod s Theogony where misogyny is quite obvious, ancient
Greek literature soon takes a more enlightened view of female roles in Greek society as their

Summary Of Matthew Restall s Seven Myths Of The Spanish...
Matthew Restall s influential monograph, Seven Myths of the Spanish Conquest, successfully
illustrated several inconsistencies pertaining to interpretations of Conquest history from the nineteenth
century to the present. For example, since the 1840 s, the single most influential and widely cited
works concerning the conquests of Mexico and Peru were the narrative histories of William H.
Prescott. His epics, The Conquest of Mexico and The History of Conquest of Peru, originally

of the Spanish Conquests in order to identify precipitating factors among the indigenous, or the
Spanish, and arrive at a conclusion that better explains contributions and outcomes with implications
upon future events. My contention is that if we disregard militaristic paradigms and view the Conquest
in a disaster context, akin to a people s actions before, during, and after a tornado or hurricane,
through a sociological lens, the story of conquest becomes more

Introduction
The city of Dubai is situated in the heart of the Arabian Peninsula. Part of the United Arab Emirates
UAE, this city state is aspiring to be major metropolis and the most populated in UAE with a
population of 2.1 million approx. Dubai is also one of the richest economies of the world with an
estimated per capita income of $37000/ 10
This paper will work through the lens of two dominant perspectives investigating Dubai s rise to its
current status of a world class city. Examining first from the political economy approach, and secondly
using the postcolonial focus to analyze the state constructed media products such as official website,
print TV campaigns promoting Dubai as the land of good times .
The political economy approach imagines the metropolis as a site of capital accumulation 1 and a field
for reshaping social relations among citizens. The post colonial approach views any city having a
colonial history and as a setting for subaltern resistance to the colonial hegemony. Being under the
British colonial rule that lasted till 1971, Dubai is suffering from a hierarchy defined by social income
class as well as residential status and the class struggle between Emiratis and non national migrant

There are 6 main nutrients present in the food such as carbohydrates, protein, fats, vitamins, minerals
and water. But according to chemistry, foods can be classified as micro nutrients (vitamins and
minerals required in small amount) and macro nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins and fats required in
higher amount). Carbohydrates can be classified into two different classifications as sugars
(monosaccharides and oligosaccharides) and non sugars or polysaccharides according to its chemical
structure. The whole classification of carbohydrates can be classified as follows.
Monosaccharides are mostly common five carbon or six carbon poly hydroxyl ketones and aldehydes.
Monosaccharides can be also called as simplest sugar such as glucose, galactose and fructose. Two
monosaccharides are able to join together in condensation reactions by using glycosidic linkage to
from disaccharides. Maltose, lactose and fructose are the examples of disaccharides. The most
complex form of the sugars are polysaccharides and they contain many monosaccharides connected
through glycosidic linkage. Both disaccharides and polysaccharides do hydrolysis to produce
components of monosaccharides which be absorbed by the body.
The glucose is the primary source of energy and it s the simple sugar body prefers. When glucose
enters the body, body stimulates pancreas to produce insulin. Insulin is one of the hormone produced
by pancreas to regulates the carbohydrates and metabolise the body fat.

needed them to attract Daisy and he fires all his servants, replacing them with Wolfsheim s men. On
the hottest day of the summer, Daisy invites Nick and Gatsby to her house to have lunch with her, Tom

agrees to head to the city. Before they leave for the city, Gatsby tells Nick that Daisy s voice is full of

Example Of Narrative Essay For College
In my undergraduate career, I have been a declared double major in History and a Secondary
Education licensure program, in addition to a Political Science minor. I have completed my history
degree and am preparing for my professional semester to complete my licensure program. I have come
to the realization that while I thoroughly love history and education, I do not want to be a teacher.
These passions have not been diminished, however; I want to take my passions and channel them into
helping a larger audience of people. I want to work in a public library. I know in that professional
capacity I will be able to help the greater community. I want to be able to help people find the
information they are looking for. I want to help create programs ... Show more content on

As an undergraduate at MCLA, I have had priceless experiences. As an education major in a licensure
program, I have had the opportunity to learn skills and strategies of engagement. I have taken courses
in working with people with disabilities and non native English speakers. These courses have
enlightened me to aspects of life that I did not previously have intimate knowledge of. The courses I
have taken and the skills I have used while completing field placements in local high schools will be
instrumental working in a library. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to challenge myself while
completing two independent studies. The experience challenged me as I worked on a nontraditional
time schedule that required me to remain more focused and work harder than traditional courses. The
papers that resulted from the hard work have proven to myself that I can accomplish my goals and
manage my time in ways that are conducive to maintaining a full schedule and create high quality of
work. At MCLA, I have also been a Professor s teaching assistant helping students research and write
lengthy papers on topics I may not have had extensive knowledge of but I was able to help them
navigate the library and online research

Michigan. It is a public university with around 28,000 students overall. Of those students, around
21,500 are undergraduates and the remaining 6,500 are postgraduate students. Among the
undergraduate population, women students hold a slight majority of the student population. The
university has an average acceptance rate, which is decided by prospective students GPA and
standardized test scores. However, the admissions office does take extracurricular activities and
mission statements into consideration.

Siddhartha and Govinda Essay
Siddhartha and Govinda Siddhartha, written by Herman Heese, is a book about a man s journey to find
his inner self beginning when he is young and ending when he is of old age. Siddhartha, while on this
quest, searched for different mentors to teach him what they know, hoping to find truth and balance in
and of the universe. At the end of the novel, Siddhartha reaches the enlightenment through many
teachings.
Govinda, Siddhartha dearest friend and confident, is often viewed as his Siddhartha s follower, or as
his shadow. In the beginning, Siddhartha goes with Gotama to hear the teachings of the Buddha, and
Govinda remains with Buddha to become his disciple. Siddhartha believes that each person must find
his or her own way to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After being asked how he was able to reach enlightenment, Siddhartha draws the distinction between
knowledge and wisdom. He says, No, I am telling you what I discovered. Knowledge can be
communicated, but not wisdom. One can find it, live it, be forfeited by it, do wonders through it, but
one cannot communicate and teach it. (115).
Siddhartha shares many teachings he has learned with Govinda. Siddhartha holds up a stone in
example, showing that one thing is enfolded in the past, present, and future. He also stated that
language is only a device, and that wisdom is not communicable. This means that, through experience,
wisdom is attainable, but if you trying to teach enlightenment, the meaning will not be fully
appreciated to whom it is taught.
We also learn that not only Samana has left its mark on Siddhartha, but that also his brief contact with
Buddha left its mark also. The Buddhist doctrine shows two opposites are Samsara and Nirvana. All
truth has these two opposites, the truth side and the illusion side.
When Gotama admits he has still not found peace, he suddenly has an inexpressible experience much
like Siddhartha had when he met Vasudeva years before. Siddhartha then summons Govinda to kiss
him on the forehead. Govinda feels as if he is touching perfection, the illustrious one, eternity, and
gets a mystical transference from Siddhartha.

Augustine s Ontological Proof For The Existence Of God
Augustine was a Christian theologian and philosopher born during the late ancient period, born only a
handful of centuries after the advent of the common era. Through this era, the separation between
religion and philosophy became increasingly evident, though many theologians and philosophers did
not limit themselves to one field or the other. In fact, many used philosophical ideas to back up
theological concepts and thoughts. One good example of this would be in Augustine s Ideo
Ontological proof for the existence of god. However, as with most things of a philosophical nature,
there is no simple right or wrong, A or B reading of the Ideo Ontological proof. Despite any possible
contention that may occur over the interpretations of the Ideo Ontological proof, there is no doubt that
the proof contributed greatly towards the development of western philosophy, as started by Plato
centuries prior.
The primary concept behind the Ideo Ontological proof is that god is a thinker of some sort; for such
an influential concept, the definition is actually very cut and dry. The steps to come to such a
conclusion, however, are somewhat more complicated. The first step in this proof is to accept that
humans are, first and foremost, thinkers; something that later philosophers would pick up on as well.
The second is where the problems start; as predicated by the fact that we are thinkers, we are able to
think of eternal ideas. I have troubles with this, as I do not presently believe that

  • 3. Application Of Magnetic Polymer Nanocomposites Abstract Magnetic polymer nanocomposites have attracted broad interest for hyperthermic cancer treatment because they are non toxic, biocompatible, and can be remotely heated by alternating magnetic fields. The magnetic induction heating behavior provides a great benefit in biomedical applications, such as targeted drug delivery, and magnetic separation. In situ formation of an organic or polymer layer on their surface is one of the efficient methods for decreasing the aggregation between the nanoparticles, as well as providing functionality on the surface and allowing further functionalization with drugs and therapeutic agents. The most challenging task in hyperthermia is to maximize the specific absorption rate (SAR) with a lower ferrofluids dose. Magnetic nanoparticles coated with polymer layer combine the unique magnetic properties of multi functional nanoparticles with self heating property. In addition, it is easier in preparation by a one pot process. The formation of the nanoparticles with a higher SAR makes it a promising in hyperthermia cancer treatment. 1. Introduction The outstanding potential of magnetic polymer nanocomposites stems from the ability to obtain structures with the combinations of properties that neither individual material possesses. It is possible to synthesize these nanocomposites in desired shape and size with controlled properties of stability, surface area, magnetic, optical, and catalytic properties. The easy separation and controlled ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When I went in, the employers were always so nice and made my stay there fun. The employers have never made me feel uncomfortable. If I got hired at Froyo, I would do my best to give people a comfortable environment and let them have a fun, positive experience, like I have witnessed. Eliot subtly conveys a wide variety of Prufrock s emotions; he creates pathos for the speaker by employing the objective correlative, which Eliot defines as a set of objects, a situation, a chain of events [that] shall be the formula of that particular emotion ( Hamlet and His Problems ). The first stanza introduces Prufrock s isolation, as epitomized metaphorically by half deserted streets (4): while empty streets imply solitude, Eliot s diction emphasize Prufrock having been abandoned by the other half needed for a relationship or an argument (8). Hoping for a companion, Prufrock speaks to the reader when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The eyes (55) and arms (62) that Prufrock claims to have known are synecdoches for women; since he does not say he is familiar with their hearts, which would metaphorically imply experience with their love, Prufrock only knows women physically. He gives one explanation for this by noting the perfume and dress (65) that make him digress (66) from presumably his goal: instead of fostering relationships, Prufrock focuses on sexual/sensual aspects. In spite of this, Eliot provides insight to Prufrock desiring more than physical intimacy through the repeated mention of meals: toast and tea (34), tea and cakes and ices (79), marmalade (88), tea cups (102); these references indicate a wish to no longer dine alone, and Prufrock saying, Among the porcelain, among some talk of you and me exemplifies his aspiration for domestic life. Eliot explains Prufrock s isolation by hinting at the man s anxiety. When Prufrock says, There will be time to murder and create, (29), he likely refers to the elimination of possibilities and the manifestation of a consequent situation and/or problem; he could refer to, for example, how best to use the time before...toast and tea (34), meaning breakfast, i.e. a night. Copulating would murder the opportunity of talking all night and could create a problem in the form of an illegitimate child, while sleeping would eliminate any options, thus forcing Prufrock to ... • 6. Examples Of Manipulation In King Lear Rationale Humans are easily manipulated creatures. The inability to understand, perceive and interpret things with clarity can be seen as a very dangerous flaw in the design of human beings, as this shortcoming may lead to the demise of an individual or even a group of people. The manner in which vision and perception of certain characters in Shakespeare s play King Lear is obscured, is a testament of just that. Through very unique literal and figurative writing, Shakespeare clearly demonstrates to the audience or reader just how easily deceived human beings can be. A perfect example of this revelation is the character, the Earl of Gloucester, who is the helpless victim of conniving manipulation, cleverly conducted by his illegitimate son, Edmund. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When we are first introduced to Gloucester and Edmund, the Earl introduces Edmund as his bastard son while joking about the manner in which Edmund was conceived. We are made to understand that this is Gloucester s routine introduction of Edmund to anyone who might want to know the identity of his son. As revenge for always being the black sheep and joke of the family, Edmund decides to devise a plan which sees him rise to power. This is a clear example of Gloucester s inability to realise that by continuously mocking and devaluing Edmund as a person, he has brewed a strong resentment and hate within Edmund. In a series of tragic events which unfold successively, Gloucester is made to believe by Edmund that his legitimate son, Edgar, is concocting a plan to kill the Earl. Credulous as he is, the Earl blatantly believes Edmund s fabricated story. This is a very clear figurative example of the blindness aspect in King ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Land Of Ur Research Paper The land of Ur is one that, until relatively recent archaeological discoveries, has been a bit of a mystery. The writings of Maimonides and Josephus both place Ur at different locations throughout the Assyrian empire. It has been believed that Ur was farther north but archaeological evidence places the land of Ur on the western bank of the Euphrates River in the southeastern potion of ancient Mesopotamia. According to archaeological excavations, this was a place of great culture, sophistication, influence, riches, and power. The people of Ur worshipped many gods but they primarily worshipped the moon god, Nanna, and his consort Ningal. The story of Nanna follows that the old woman of Nippur, Nunbarshegunu, taught her daughter Ninlil how to win the affections of the air god, Enlil. She succeeded but Enlil began to frighten her so she refused his advances and he then raped her. The other gods were disgusted by this action and they banished Enlil to the netherworld. Ninlil chose to follow him there, pregnant with their child. Not wanting their son, Nanna, to live in the netherworld he chose to impregnate her with three other children who grew to rule the netherworld as deities in his place while Nanna was freed. Nanna, the moon god, ascended to heaven and (with his consort Ningal) became the father of Utu, the sun god. Nanna continued to rule as the deity of the people and land of Ur. The city contained a massive ziggurat, which was a mountain like temple that stretched into the sky (reminiscent of the tower of Babel) with a shrine to the gods on top. The Sumerian culture believed that the god Enlil designed the universe and that the water god, Enki, constructed the world. Enki creates the world and then entrusts each place to a special entity with the moon god being the deity that people of Ur worship. Ur is known as the premier city of the Sumerian civilization. Located near the Euphrates and the Tigris rivers it became a mighty port city. The riches of this civilization are shown in the excavations of the royal tombs where the kings, queens, and ... Achieving Inclusion In Education Inclusion is the provision of strategies and resources to ensure all children are given the opportunity to reach their full potential irrespective of ethnicity, religious belief, gender, sexual orientation or disability (Dean, 2006; Department for Education (DfE), 2013). To attain inclusion, individuals must be enabled to fully participate in mainstream activities and to be valued and accepted within the school community (Coyle, 2011). However, Barnard, Prior, and Potter (2000) acknowledge that the process of inclusive education can prove challenging (Coyle, 2011; Simpson and De Boer, 2009; Humphrey, 2008). Under the 1944 Education Act, children with special educational needs were arranged according to their medical condition (House of Commons, 2006). Many children were considered to be uneducable in mainstream settings and were considered to be mentally retarded , maladjusted or sub normal (House of Commons, 2006). Pupils with SEN were often sent to special schools and taught practical skills as an alternative to standard education (Bateman, Lloyd and Tankersley, 2015). The Warnock Report in 1978, followed by the 1981 Education Act, introduced the idea of special educational needs (SEN), statements, and an inclusive approach to education (House of Commons, 2006). ... • 10. Medea Feminist Analysis I know indeed what evil I intend to do,/But stronger than all my [Medea] afterthoughts is my fury,/Fury that brings upon mortals the greatest evils (Euripides 35). In Euripides play, Medea, he shows what happens when one is victimized permanently for something that they had done in the past, and shows the he shows the power of revenge. Jason is the victim in this tragic grouping of events. Medea punishes him, because she feels that he wronged her, even though her gruesome plans were much more sophisticated and horrid than Jason s acts against Medea. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Medea s acts of rage, she victimizes Jason, and others around her. She was immune to the fact that she was going to kill her children, because she was focused on getting revenge on Jason, and making sure that he suffered. During Medea s encounter with Jason, Jason is shown slowly crumbling beneath the pain and agony that Medea had placed upon him, by killing her children. At this point, Jason is pleading for mercy, and begging for the children s bodies. You who have had the heart to raise a sword against/Your children, you, their mother, and left me childless /You have done this, and do you still look at the sun/And at the earth, after these most fearful doings?/ I wish you were dead (Euripides 43). Jason had shown his weakness to Medea, and she took advantage of that by slaughtering her own children, so that she would get revenge on Jason. This placed Jason in an even more vulnerable position, because he had to live with no family or power, because Medea ripped it all away from him in a matter of minutes. Jason s future had been brought to an abrupt stop, and Medea was to blame. Medea became an outcast, because she not only murdered her children, she devised a horrific plan, that called for her children to bring death to the princess and king. Medea had affected many people negatively, including people in her own family. In her acts of anger or under her horrific plans, Medea was bound to hurt someone. On October 29, 1929 the U.S. Stock market crashed and is known today as Black Tuesday. During that time the most common credit extended to people was what was called a call loan. The stock buyer would put down 10 to 50 percent of what the stock was worth and borrow the rest to make full payment. If the stock dropped below a certain price the lender could call back the loan, demanding immediate payment in full. As an infant and toddler, I don t think that I fell under one temperament category. I spent my infancy and toddler years in a village in the mountains of Mexico. In consequence, I had to deal with poverty, lack of resources, and the absence of my mother for most of those years. For those reasons, I believe that I probably had characteristics from of the temperament categories. My mother had told me that as an infant if she couldn t find anyone to watch me, she would take me with her to the fields and leave me at the end of her rows and check on me when she made her way back. Hearing these kinds of stories makes me believe that I had to adapt and overcome many different situations depending on my environment at that time. I can compare this to the goodness of fit theory mentioned in the book on page 189. As an adolescent, I went through some traumas and I would describe myself to be more of a difficult type of temperament. 2. In the versions by Wilde and Strauss, however, Salome is passionately in love with the imprisoned John the Baptist, who, because he will not let the temptations of the flesh corrupt his pure love of God, rejects her advances. Wilde s Salome, determined that if she cannot have John no one will have John, asks Herod for the Baptist s head on a platter. John the Baptist spurned Salome s affections while he lived; now that he is dead, Salome lavishes her kisses upon the cold lips of the bloody corpse head. Prufrock, too, has had his moments of temptation: he has known the arms already, known them all / Arms that are braceleted and white and bare / (But in the lamplight, downed with light brown hair!) (62 64). And these very sources of temptation, these arms that lie along a table, or wrap about a shawl (67), eventually emasculate Prufrock by rejection: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As I already mention, she divides the picture in two. Her right represents Mexico and it has lots of symbolical representation. The juxtapositions of the sun and moon represent the Azteca culture and how they believe that the opposites like man and women, life and death, define life. (PBS.org.). The Pre Columbian temple represents the rejection that she has to European traditions. She also has two fertility dolls and their position represent the cycle of life and death. In my opinion she paints this dolls to represent how she feels because she can t have babies. She also has a Skulls that represents Mexican culture of death. The skulls is in most of Frida s paintings. She painted because she has been in the edge of death . I also think that she paint the skull because sometimes she wants to be death. She was obsessed with her husband Diego Rivera but he didn t respect her feelings and he cheat her several times. The flowers and the clouds represent the natural surrounding that Mexico has. In contrast she represents the United Sates with machines, skyscrapers and smog that represents to her that the nations is unfriendly and that the people that live there only think in work and made money. I agree with her, although the people in Mexico don t earn sufficient money they care more about their families. An Organization s Political Structure Abstract Budgets are needed by many organisations and have been used since 1922, they re considered to be key drivers and assessors of performance within a business. They re mainly used in an attempt to plan and control organisations and their objectives. An organisation s political structure is mainly affected by budgets as the managers at the top tend to use budgets as a means of power and authority. Traditional budgeting has both advantages and disadvantages; recently, critics seem to be against the use of traditional budgets within organisations. Although teaching is the foundation that we see for the students, it is important to understand that all of the teaching that occurs can not be done without the planning. This essay will be informative of the planning, techniques, and models 1st grade English teachers at the World Language Academy use to be most effective on the students they are teaching, as well as also explaining the diversity among the students and teachers and how that affects both learning and teaching. What is so significant about this, in my opinion, is that the classroom I was in uses a mixture of direct instruction, cooperative learning, and student centered approaches. All of these methods in one classroom make for a very successful teacher. World Language Academy The World Language Academy is an early education (grades K 5) school. The World Language Academy, or WLA, is an academy that teaches all classes in both English and Spanish. The definitions of quality incorporate factors like top management commitment, leadership, team work, training and development, rewards and recognition, involvement and empowerment of employees etc. These critical factors are the foundation for transformational orientation to create a sustainable improvement culture for competitive advantage on a continuous basis. According to Selladurai Raj, TQM interventions or activities must be guided by four change principles, namely work processes, variability, analysis, and continuous improvement. Product design and production processes must be improved; variance must be controlled to ensure high quality; data must be systematically collected and analyzed in a problem solving cycle; and commitment made to continuous learning by the employees about their work [25]. Different consultants and schools of thought emphasize different aspects of TQM as it has developed over time. These aspects may be technical, operational, or social/managerial. The basic elements of TQM, as expounded by the American Society for Quality Control, are 1) policy, planning, and administration; 2) product design and design change control; 3) control of purchased material; 4) production quality control; 5) user contact and field performance; 6) corrective action; and 7) employee selection, training, and motivation. In Ihara Saikaku s story, Life of a Sensuous Woman, and Mary Wollstonecraft s work, Vindication of the Rights of Woman , the issue of double standards in gender are examined. Both pieces offer a perspective into the lives of women during their respective times and show how some standards that are considered favorable for men, are looked down upon for women. In particular, the two works examine how women were treated differently based on their education, their social status and even their sexual history. Saikaku looks at these issues in a different lens from Wollstonecraft, based on his experiences as a man living in Japan in the 17th century. Their experiences shape their works and show how the issue of double standards of gender span culture, time and geography. In Wollstonecraft s work, she addresses the differences between men and women as being something that should be considered negligible, but instead is used to practically enslave one half of the population. The work details how women are akin to playthings when they lack an education, and that for her to truly be herself and practice her own free will, she must be knowledgeable. The papers that resulted from the hard work have proven to myself that I can accomplish my goals and manage my time in ways that are conducive to maintaining a full schedule and create high quality of work. Siddhartha, while on this quest, searched for different mentors to teach him what they know, hoping to find truth and balance in and of the universe. At the end of the novel, Siddhartha reaches the enlightenment through many teachings. Govinda, Siddhartha dearest friend and confident, is often viewed as his Siddhartha s follower, or as his shadow. After being asked how he was able to reach enlightenment, Siddhartha draws the distinction between knowledge and wisdom. He says, No, I am telling you what I discovered. Knowledge can be communicated, but not wisdom. One can find it, live it, be forfeited by it, do wonders through it, but one cannot communicate and teach it. (115). Siddhartha shares many teachings he has learned with Govinda. Siddhartha holds up a stone in example, showing that one thing is enfolded in the past, present, and future. He also stated that language is only a device, and that wisdom is not communicable. This means that, through experience, wisdom is attainable, but if you trying to teach enlightenment, the meaning will not be fully appreciated to whom it is taught. We also learn that not only Samana has left its mark on Siddhartha, but that also his brief contact with Buddha left its mark also. The Buddhist doctrine shows two opposites are Samsara and Nirvana. All truth has these two opposites, the truth side and the illusion side. When Gotama admits he has still not found peace, he suddenly has an inexpressible experience much like Siddhartha had when he met Vasudeva years before. Siddhartha then summons Govinda to kiss him on the forehead. Govinda feels as if he is touching perfection, the illustrious one, eternity, and gets a mystical transference from Siddhartha. ... • 44. Augustine s Ontological Proof For The Existence Of God Augustine was a Christian theologian and philosopher born during the late ancient period, born only a handful of centuries after the advent of the common era. Through this era, the separation between religion and philosophy became increasingly evident, though many theologians and philosophers did not limit themselves to one field or the other. In fact, many used philosophical ideas to back up theological concepts and thoughts. One good example of this would be in Augustine s Ideo Ontological proof for the existence of god. However, as with most things of a philosophical nature, there is no simple right or wrong, A or B reading of the Ideo Ontological proof. Despite any possible contention that may occur over the interpretations of the Ideo Ontological proof, there is no doubt that the proof contributed greatly towards the development of western philosophy, as started by Plato centuries prior. The primary concept behind the Ideo Ontological proof is that god is a thinker of some sort; for such an influential concept, the definition is actually very cut and dry. The steps to come to such a conclusion, however, are somewhat more complicated. The first step in this proof is to accept that humans are, first and foremost, thinkers; something that later philosophers would pick up on as well. The second is where the problems start; as predicated by the fact that we are thinkers, we are able to think of eternal ideas. I have troubles with this, as I do not presently believe that ...
