1.Importantly, prejudice is not prejudging. People can be prejudiced.docxcarlstromcurtis
1.Importantly, prejudice is not prejudging. People can be prejudiced when knowing people from another group. Prejudice simply means hatred or dislike of an entire group of people. It is very important to understand this because often people who are prejudiced have a very hard time changing their mind and continue to have negative feelings even if they interact and get to know those in the group that they may dislike.
Class, what do you think are some of the steps that we could take as a society to reduce prejudice/ Do you think that there are some people who may never change prejudicial attitudes?
2.Yes, definitely we are not prejudiced when we are born nor do we care common prejudices. I always found it really interesting when my kids were small, they noticed differences among people and would happily call them out, your hair looks different, your skin looks different, etc. But ,while they openly discussed differences they saw, those differences meant nothing to them--they had not been socialized to have certain expectations about certain groups (stereotypical thinking). In other words, hey you look like this I look like that but who cares. It often makes me stop and think because as adults we are often careful to not call out difference or pretend like we don't notice it. Interestingly, a lot of research on prejudice actually says that if we admit to seeing differences and think about how that might affect how we interact with others, we actually do the most in society to reduce it.
Class, do you think that there is anyone in society who is completely free of prejudice or stereotypical thinking? Why might it be difficult to confront one's own biases? Do you think that this is an important step in improving inclusivity in our society?

Openness to Experience – Low Characteristics
You are low in openness to experience. People who are low in openness to experience are typically very dedicated to any work they do, and always make sure to see their tasks through to the end. You are not very artistic or imaginative, and do not see the value in unnecessary things like art and music.
You are very analytical, and are able to think quickly to solve any problem you are faced with. Your first instinct is to use tried-and-true methods when solving problems.
You tend to see things as black-and-white. You believe that people usually do not change, and people are either good or bad. You believe that someone’s personal traits and choices play a bigger role than luck or circumstance.
People who are low in openness to experience often are well-suited for careers that allow them to have daily routines, with job duties that are very clear. For example, you may be well-suited for a job in finance, mechanics, or technology.
Extraversion – High Characteristics
You are an extravert. You get your energy by interacting with others, and spending too much time alone seems draining to you. Others often describe you as friendly and energetic. You are constantly seeking out ways to be around people, whether it’s at work or at a party. You really don’t mind being the center of attention, and your friends love being around you because you are the life of the party!
When working through problems, you enjoy talking them through with others. You often think best when you are having a discussion with others, rather than sitting alone and thinking. Concepts just seem more real to you when they are discussed with others.
While being assertive may make others feel uncomfortable, you have no problem voicing your opinion. In fact, you often talk before you think. This can be benefi ...

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

1. THE ORDER OF DISORDER
Order is the arrangement or disposition of people or things in relation to each other
according to a particular sequence, pattern, or method. When we talk about it , we often
think about a clean room , a tidy desk , a perfect bookshelf or anything that is organised . But
order goes much further , it isn't just physical but mental .
On the one hand , many people enjoy the order of things .having everything organised by
size , color or any places like the room , the shelves , the closet…but this can always
become a problem if it gets excessive . some of these people are so attached to
organization that the get upset and even feel physical or emotional discomfort when they see
something out of place .
On the other hand , there are disordered people , those who really don't find it relevant to do
mor keep things well organised . disorder can be caused by both lack of desire , or it can
simply be that there are more important things than organising things in a certain way .
In conclusion , humans are houses . Each of us decides how to live in our own way and how
to treat ourselves . Every house is different , with different priorities and ways of looking at
life . In all disorder there is perfection , and in all chaos there is order .
