The social base of education is the study of social institutions and individual experiences affect education and its outcome. Education is concerned with all forms of education in formal and
informal education systems of modern industrial societies. After the advancement and engagement
of human capital (work force) in industrialization America and Europe gave rise to social mobility. Now it is easier to move up to the upper strata of society gaining technical skills, knowledge. People who were farmers earlier became workers in factories. In that period social and mobility was at top gear. And we began to think that Education promotes social mobility and undermines class stratification. It gained interest and a lot of sociological studies done on the subject. Statistical and field research across numerous societies showed a persistent link between an individual's social class and achievement and suggested that education could only achieve limited social mobility.

TEACHING TECHNOLOGY AND INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGYAnitaGupta91
Teaching with technology is a broad topic that includes the use of media tools integrated within Learning Management Systems (LMS) and/or those run more independently over the Internet. It also involves differing media types (i.e. social or dyadic) and functions (i.e. synchronous or asynchronous).
Instructional technology is the branch of education concerned with the scientific study of instructional design and development. The main purpose of instructional designers is to create engaging, effective learning experiences. There are a variety of models (e.g., ADDIE, Backward Design, ASSURE etc)
Teachers use curricula when trying to see what to teach to students and when, as well as what the rubrics should be, what kind of worksheets and teacher worksheets they should make, among other things.
It is actually up to the teachers themselves how these rubrics should be made, how these worksheets should be made and taught; it's all up to the teachers.

Social change is a concept many of us take for granted or don't really even understand. No society has ever remained the same. Change is always happening. We accept change as inevitable, and it is, end of story, right? Well, not exactly.
Sociologists define social change as changes in human interactions and relationships that transform cultural and social institutions. These changes occur over time and often have profound and long-term consequences for society. Well-known examples of such change have resulted from social movements in workers’ rights, civil rights, women's rights and LGBTQIA+ rights, to name just a few. Relationships have changed, institutions have changed, and cultural norms have changed as a result of these social change movements. That's pretty heady stuff. Don't you think?
What interests me, and what I hope interests you, is our collective power to influence social change.
What is the Main Purpose of Social Change?
While we accept that change is constant, we do not have to accept that we are powerless in its wake. It is the extent to which we care about the direction of social change that we can try to shape it and help to create the kind of "change we wish to see in the world." Whether or not Gandhi actually uttered these words doesn't matter. What matters is that the phrase begs the question, what kind of change do we wish to see in the world?
One person’s opinion about what is good or positive social change might well be another person’s idea of bad or negative social change. For example, those who believe in a woman’s right to choose whether or not to carry a fetus to term fight fervently for that right and believe wholeheartedly that it is a decision to be made between a woman and her doctor, while those who oppose abortion believe firmly in the righteousness of their cause, too, and have built a movement that can claim victory in the overturning of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Roe v. Wade.
Institutions have changed, cultural and political norms have changed, and personal relationships have changed as a result of the collective power of people determined to make what they believe to be positive social change. Not all agree, but there can be no denying that it has been an activist movement powered by citizens working together to make change.
As executive director of the 50-year-old nonprofit, Global Citizens Circle (GCC), I think every day about the question of what kind of change I want to see in the world as I work to carry forward the mission of the organization to foster constructive change in our communities, our nation and our world.
I imagine that our partner and host institution, Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), also thinks about this question on a daily basis as it seeks to "transform the lives of students."

Effect of Cultural Values on Character Formation: Implication for Education ...PUBLISHERJOURNAL
The influence of cultural norms and home values on an individual's personality and life adjustment can manifest in various ways. An individual's personality is shaped by a complex interplay of biological and experiential factors, with the latter being significantly influenced by cultural elements. One prominent avenue through which cultural values impact personality is in the cultural conditioning of child-rearing practices. When a child is born, it not only relies on the care and support of family members but also lacks the necessary behavioral knowledge required to function within a human society. It depends on innate biological instincts like hunger and the care provided by elders to fulfill these basic needs. To survive and thrive, a human infant must acquire the skills, knowledge, and societal norms specific to the culture into which it is born. Thus, cultural values are deliberately instilled in the members of a society. For a society to function effectively, these shared cultural values must be passed down through generations, primarily through child-rearing practices within homes. Nigeria, characterized by its diverse cultural backgrounds, value systems, and numerous ethnic groups, has distinct child-rearing practices that transmit these values and norms to successive generations. This paper examines the role of culture in shaping an individual's character and emphasizes that education, when coupled with values, is crucial. Education serves as a potent tool for fostering desirable character traits, and it must be refocused to continue producing individuals with strong moral values and responsible character.

An Investigation on the Impact of Plant-Animal Interactions in the Conservati...DrCShanmugaPriya
The Gulf of Mannar is a large shallow bay forming part of the Laccadive Sea in the Indian Ocean. It lies between the southeastern tip of India and the west coast of Sri Lanka. 20 islands are running almost parallel to the coastline of the Gulf of Mannar. Among them, Mandapam group of islands (Hare, Manoli, Manoliputti, Poomarichan, Pullivasal, Krusadai, and Shingle) are one of the richest coastal regions for biodiversity in Asia. An ecological study for the conservation of the biodiversity in these islands was done from the year 2009 to 2010. Each island has its unique characteristics, of biodiversity surrounded by coral reefs. The littoral, mangrove, tidal swamp, dry deciduous and scrubs insular forests of the islands hold a diversified faunal assemblage. The predominant existing plant species of the island are the mangroves (Rhizophora mucronate pair, Avicennia marina (Forssk.)Vierh, Ceriopstagal (perr.)Rabins) and deciduous and scrub species (Pandanus fascicularis, Thespesia populnea, Tamarindus indica, Cordia subcordata, Pithecolobium dulce, Ficus benghalensis, Pleurostylia opposite, Acacia planifrons, Salvadora persica, and Zizyphus nummularia) Pemphis acidula (Lythraceae family of flowering herb) is the note worthy endemic plant species. These floras for their propagation totally depend on the Hymenopteran and Lepidopteran diversity of insects and the sun bird for pollination and Mammals and Aves for seed dispersal. This study on the animal - plant interaction helps a lot in the formulation of action plan for biodiversity conservation in Mandapam group of islands.
Optional Environmental Education - Unit III international efforts for enviro...DrCShanmugaPriya
Global environmental problems have surfaced in recent years in the midst of a general upgrading of economic standards in advanced countries. This has been paralleled by the rapid growth of poverty, population, and urbanization in less developed countries, and resulted in broadening mutually dependent international relationships. The United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED/Earth Summit) was convened in June 1992; among other events, the summit marked the end of the East-West Cold War framework that had existed since the end of World War II, and now encourages international cooperation and action relative to global environmental issues.
International efforts concerning environmental conservation relate to global
warming, protection of the ozone layer, acid deposition, forests, wildlife, marine environment, transboundary movement of hazardous wastes, desertification, and pollution problems in developing countries.
Food is essential for the growth and development of living organisms. These essential materials are called nutrients and these nutrients are available from a variety of animals and plants. There are thousands of edible plants and animals over the world, out of which only about three dozen types constitute the major food of humans.
The majority of people obtain food from cultivated plants and domesticated animals. Although some food is obtained from oceans and freshwaters, the great majority of food for the human population is obtained from traditional land-based agriculture of crops and livestock.
Environmental education is a process that allows individuals to explore environmental issues, engage in problem solving, and take action to improve the environment. As a result, individuals develop a deeper understanding of environmental issues and have the skills to make informed and responsible decisions.
The components of environmental education are:PEYA winner and water monitor examining a snake
Awareness and sensitivity to the environment and environmental challenges
Knowledge and understanding of the environment and environmental challenges
Attitudes of concern for the environment and motivation to improve or maintain environmental quality
Skills to identify and help resolve environmental challenges
Participation in activities that lead to the resolution of environmental challenges
Environmental education does not advocate a particular viewpoint or course of action. Rather, environmental education teaches individuals how to weigh various sides of an issue through critical thinking and it enhances their own problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Course 8: Knowledge and Curriculum - Unit 1 -Topic -SkillDrCShanmugaPriya
A skill is the ability to perform an action with determined results often within a given amount of time, energy, or both. Skills can often be divided into domain-general and domain-specific skills. For example, in the domain of work, some general skills would include time management, teamwork and leadership, self-motivation, and others, whereas domain-specific skills would be used only for a certain job. Skill usually requires certain environmental stimuli and situations to assess the level of skill being shown and used.
People need a broad range of skills to contribute to the modern economy. A joint ASTD and U.S. Department of Labor study showed that through technology, the workplace is changing, and identified 16 basic skills that employees must have to be able to change with it. Three broad categories of skills are suggested and these are technical, human, and conceptual. The first two can be substituted with hard and soft skills, respectively.
COURSE: 8 – KNOWLEDGE AND CURRICULUM - Unit 1: Epistemological bases of educ...DrCShanmugaPriya
Epistemology basic is a branch of philosophy that investigates the origin, nature, methods, and limits of human knowledge. Our own personal epistemology influences our own theories of learning, and consequently, how we approach, design, and delivery of our classes.
Epistemology focuses on our knowledge of reality. Epistemology analyses the
validity of sources of knowledge. The epistemologist tries to answer questions like ‘what is the difference between knowing and believing? What can we know beyond the information provided by our sense organs? What is the guarantee that what we know is true? Thus the major concerns of epistemology are knowledge and truth.
According to naturalism, senses are the sources of knowledge. It is confirmed by their
a statement, ‘senses are the gateway of knowledge’
In the realist’s epistemology, an elaborate and comprehensive conception of a realm of
experience is given greater significance than in the pragmatists. For the pragmatist, a theory is at best only a source of hypothesis.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

4. Introduction
Education is a lifelong process by which people learn new ways of
action and thought. It encourages changes in behavior which aim at
improving the human conditions. Education plays a vital role in
introducing the culture of society among the students.

5. Influence of society on education
The society also play a significant role in the development of the
education system. The role of socio-cultural factors, political
conditions, and economic background determines the nature of
educational institutions, its objectives, and curriculum development.

value-
2. Awakening of Social feelings
3. Political development of society
4. Economic development of society
5. Social control
6. Social changes and reforms
7. Socialization of child.
7. Influence of culture on education
In anthropological literature the term culture is used in many
senses, but in general writings it is used to indicate social charm and
intellectual superiority. Even some sociologists believe cultured
individuals to be the leaders of society. According to Sorokin and
Maclver, culture implies man’s moral, spiritual and intellectual
achievements. In the words of Bogardus, “culture is composed of
integrated customs, traditions and current patterns of human group.
8. The following are the various ways by which
education influences the culture of a country.
1. Preservation of Culture (கலாச்சாரத்தைப் பாதுகாத்ைல்)
2. Transmission of Culture (கலாச்சாரத்தைப் பரப்புைல்)
3. Development of Culture (கலாச்சார வளர்ச்சி)
4. Continuity of Culture (கலாச்சாரத்ைின் தைாடர்ச்சி)
5. Development of personality (ஆளுதையின் வளர்ச்சி)
6. Removing Cultural Lag (கலாச்சார பின்னதடதவ நீக்குைல்)
9. 1. Preservation of Culture (கலாச்சாரத்தைப்
பாதுகாத்ைல்)
Each country believes and flaunts the superiority of its own culture over the rest.
Hence it tries to preserve its culture in its original form. Education is the only means to
complete this task. Thus, education preserves the culture of society.
2. Transmission of Culture (கலாச்சாரத்தைப் பரப்புைல்)
The process of preservation includes the process of transmission as well.
Transmission of culture from one generation to another is the best guarantee of its
preservation. “The function of education is to transmit the social values and ideas
to the young and capable members of society.
10. 3. Development of Culture (கலாச்சார வளர்ச்சி)
The process of education is to bring about the needed
desirable changes in the cultural ideals and values for the
progress and continued development of society, without which
social progress will stratify and come to naught. Education
culturists individuals, modifies cultural processes by research and
deeper investigations into all areas of human requirements.
11. 4. Continuity of Culture (கலாச்சாரத்ைின்
தைாடர்ச்சி)
Culture is the lifeblood of a society is bound to decay and die
sooner or later. Education upholds the continuity of culture through its
diverse activities and programmes. A society establishes schools to
preserve and transmit its culture from generation to generation. But
some schools try to develop undesirable cultural chauvinism and
superiority complexes among its children.
12. 5. Development of personality
(ஆளுதையின் வளர்ச்சி)
Education aims at developing the personality of the child. It
employs diverse cultural patterns of thinking, behavior and
items of cultural values so that children are physically,
mentally, socially and emotionally developed to the maximum
extent.
13. 6. Removing Cultural Lag
(கலாச்சார பின்னதடதவ நீக்குைல்)
While material culture develops at a fast pace due to
scientific researchers and inventions, non-material culture
consisting of ideals, values and norms lags behind creating a
gulf between the two. Education is the only means to bridge
this cultural lag by its activities and programmes of
development.
14. Influence of modernity on education
Modernity, a topic in the humanities and social sciences, is both a historical
period and the ensemble of particular socio-cultural norms, attitudes, and practices
that arose in the wake of the Renaissance—in the "Age of Reason" of 17th-century
thought and the 18th-century "Enlightenment". நவ ீனத்துவம், ைனிைநநயம் ைற்றும்

15. Modernization through Education
Education is the most important instrument of modernization since modernization
includes the following:
1. Directed change in the system of attitudes, beliefs, and values and also in the
institutional complex, to enhance the acceptability of modern technology and its
organizational and operational framework.
2. Growth of the infrastructure essential to the adaptation to the technology of
foreign origin to specific national needs.
3. Laying the foundations of institutions and organizations which could, in time,
assume responsibility for independent innovation and technological growth to
the country’s needs and problems.
19. WHAT IS AN INDUSTRIALIZATION?
Industrialization is the period of social
and economic change that transforms a human
group from an agrarian society into an
industrial society. This involves an extensive re-
