1. Costumes, Hair and Makeup.
• Clothing plays an important role in trying to achieve the action genre. The clothes we plan to use are
modern and exclusive thus creating high class characters. We are approaching a ‘Men In Black’ style due
to their prosperous lifestyle and suits in style; The stereotypical action movie with a sense of Fast and
Furious. This approach would be following the norm of action movies yet gradually developing
throughout the film. Inspirations for our protagonist/antagonist is drawn mainly from movies such as
‘The Matrix’ and prominently ‘Men In Black’. We feel the clothing for each character must vary but not
from wealth, mostly from coloring and what the audience can interpret out of it. For example, Our
protagonist will be a black suit throughout the opening while the antagonist will be wearing a red suit,
the audience will then be able to deduce their roles due to what the colours symbolize, without further
ado, the clothing will also justify personality.
• When discussing hair, there wont be any prominent features the audience should look for, however, the
protagonists hair would be scruffy and rolled down at the start due to his physical state. It will then be
gelled out and made to look fresh as he values his appearance, thus making him stand out from the
crowd. To keep the film opening true to the genre I’d say the antagonist wouldn't’t have anything special
done with his hair as he doesn't’t care about petty features such as getting his hair done, all he admires
is his success. As a group we intend to use this ideology to achieve a high level of authenticity whilst
portraying the action genre.
