2. Age
My age group varied from 16-17 year olds which helps me decide to aim my opening sequence to
intrigue people these ages. This would mean my opening sequence should be suitable for those
ages to view, however, the sample for my survey consisted of my classmates so it isn’t an accurate
representation. Scenes for the mature audience will be included to create depth and interest for the
audience as if a mature audience viewed it and it consisted of childish material they wouldn’t be as
intrigued.
3. Gender
Most of my participants of my survey were men which helps since
are film is Action and the genre appeals more to men. Females
however could still enjoy this film as it consists a intriguing
storyline that all genders would be able to relate and appreciate.
From this information we decided to appeal it to the male
stereotype that action films provide
4. Favorite Genre
A majority of my results told us that Action is most peoples favorite genre so our opening
sequence will then be more entertaining for them as the conventions of an action film will be
featured. Most students enjoy our genre so we hope for our fellow action lovers to enjoy our
opening sequence.
5. What would you like a movie (according to your
favorite genre) consist of?
The conventions and stereotypes of typical action films are
important to achieve as we want to create a film which would
intrigue action fans, by doing this we need to include the
average stereotypes that you view in all your favorite action
films. We’ll be gaining inspiration from films such as John
Wick and Fast & Furious, by doing this we hope to gain a
creative insight on how to add these specific scenes.
6. What element of an opening sequence
intrigues you the most?
All these elements will be included into my opening
sequence and as a collective I plan to use these different
techniques in intriguing ways which match the storyline of
the opening. Hopefully we will include actions scenes such
as fighting, car chases, and guns. If we include these
elements then the audience would enjoy it more as it was
the most voted.
