IoT Landscape and its Key Trends in DeploymentVincent Lau
Today, there are more than 31 billion Internet of Things (IoT) devices connected to the Internet. These devices range from simple sensors and actuators to smart equipment and appliances that have a huge impact on major industries such as manufacturing, transportation, healthcare and utilities. The vast amount of data collected from IoT device telemetry has also enabled advanced data analytics, and machine learning models that can give us better insights and make IoT smarter, giving rise to AIoT (AI + IoT) applications. With the pandemic situation likely to turn endemic, how will this impact the IoT landscape in Singapore? What are some of the key drivers and growth areas for IoT?
Discover here the keynote at the Gartner ITxpo of Helmut Reisinger, CEO at Orange Business Services.
How can you accelerate the convergence of OT and IT teams, systems and data to create new value with IoT- and AI-enabled business processes and products? This session will help you overcome data integration, analytics and connectivity challenges to combat new cybersecurity threats that come from linking your production systems and supply chains via the Internet.
In 2012, The Economist claimed we were entering the third industrial revolution based on the digitization of manufacturing, also referred to as the “smart factory.” The development and adoption of the Internet of Things is a critical element of smart manufacturing as reduced sensor device cost, and increased connectivity and in-memory processing give manufacturers the ability to gather and use data to increase product quality and transform operations. IT organizations are increasingly involved with the management, security and governance of this data as equipment and products are connected to the internet. This session will provide a practical framework for evaluating ways to improve sensor enablement, transaction processes and analytics based on real-world customer examples.

Meetup #3 - Cyber-physical view of the Internet of EverythingFrancesco Rago
The Internet of Everything (IoE) is built on the connections among people, processes, data, and internet of things. However, it is not about these four dimensions in isolation. Each amplifies the capabilities of the other three. It is in the intersection of all of these elements that the true power of Internet of Everything is realized.
We will examine the Cyber-physical view to explore Specification, Hybrid and Heterogeneous Models, Conceptual frameworks, Multiform Time, and much more.
Almost everything in your warehouse will eventually be connected to the Internet of Things (IoT), the online network that connects and exchanges data between devices, vehicles, inventory and even buildings. The Internet of Things is already starting the digital transformation of supply chains by improving efficiency, accuracy, and reducing costs. It is anticipated that many more benefits and opportunities will emerge in the future. Every supply chain business, from manufacturing to logistics, should be taking a close look at the Internet of Things now. Early adopters of IoT technologies will be better able to take a giant leap forward in their business and gain a competitive edge from this technology.

The manufacturing industry is adopting artificial intelligence (AI) at a fast rate. This century-old industry is complex but has seen constant transformation across all of its facets.
Led by big data analytics, miniaturization of sensors enabling the Internet of Things (IoT), and, now, AI machine learning (ML), manufacturers everywhere have embarked on an AI transformation that is opening up potential new revenue streams as well taking costs and time out of existing processes.
This talk will walk through a use case for enterprise AI solutions within the manufacturing sector. We will discuss the challenges, motivation, and tool selection process, then cover the solution development in detail.

A critical look at three years of supply chain disruption. Using quantitative and qualitative research, Lora Cecere, Founder of Supply Chain Insights, looks critically at the factors within companies that drove resilience and the factors less successful. Companies that won were aligned, used market signals, decreased process latency, used scenario planning, and implemented descriptive analytics. Those that fared worse, had tight integration of supply chain planning to ERP, were not aligned, and were focused on a digital transformation strategy.

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

Our Display Technologies business produces the world’s highest-quality glass substrates for LCD and other advanced displays that are used in TVs, monitors, tablets, and mobile devices.
Our Optical Communications segment provides a comprehensive range of connectivity solutions to provide fast, reliable broadband connections linking businesses, data centers, homes, and people.
Our Environmental Technologies provides emissions-control products for cars, trucks, and off-road equipment to help meet stricter regulations going into effect around the globe.
Our Life Sciences business has been a trusted supplier to healthcare and pharmaceutical industries since we introduced PYREX® glass in 1915. Today, we provide a broad portfolio of products from labware to cell-culture products to genomics equipment.
Our Specialty Materials segment serves diverse industries from consumer electronics to semiconductors to aerospace. Products include Corning® Gorilla® Glass, laser technologies, and biomedical imaging equipment.
One way to accomplish this is through supply chain digitalization…the use of digital technology to improve supply chain operations, including software, intelligent devices, big data and analytics.
The focus of this journey is on the seven “pillars” of digitalization.
Supply Management Service Companies are well established, including 12 GSM services and 3 lower cost Regional Operating Centers. For 2018, the focus will be on improving service efficiency through the use of Robotic Process Automation and leveraging these services to optimize supply chain networks.
Core platforms have been established for business planning and execution, including the SAP S/4Hana ERP platform, which has been deployed for the Corning Glass Microsystems business and will focus on CPT, AGS and EIG in 2018, as well as the SAP Integrated Business Planning module which has been deployed for CET and will be expanded with CLS in 2018.
A data platform is also being established, including structured and unstructured data lake repositories which can be mined with powerful new analytics tools, including Power BI, to convert this data into useful information and insight. In 2018, the goal is to leverage the Amazon Web Services platform to enhance this further.
There has been a strong focus on end-to-end visibility, including the global deployment of GT Nexus for logistics and the deployment of Elementum for supply chain visibility, starting with an OCS pilot. In 2018, the Elementum platform will be expanded to include more capability and more businesses, including CGT, CLS for resins and CET.
In 2018, there will be an increased focus on Next Generation Services, starting with the deployment of the Acquire Front-End Buying platform to create a more streamlined and user-friendly buying experience, and the establishment of a Warehouse Management System platform to enable Smart Warehousing.
With the strong visibility and data platforms established, there will be an emphasis on establishing predictive analytics, including the development Economic Optimization tools to optimize the value resulting from market commodity and currency shifts by helping those who are responsible for buying to make better decisions when the market is changing.
Lastly, smart supply chain enablers will be explored in 2018, starting with block chains and how they can be leveraged to enable “smart contracting”
So now let’s take a closer look at several exciting areas of focus in 2018…
