Al Mannarino - Embarcadero Technologies
Wednesday, February 25, 2015
Join Embarcadero Technologies' Al Mannarino for a presentation and demonstration on how App Tethering and Bluetooth can be used to create exciting and new Internet of Things (IoT) solutions with distributed, connected apps.
Useful IoT apps are not stand-alone mobile apps, but are distributed over several tiers, gadgets and devices such as operating system platforms including Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, as well as middle-ware, cloud, servers, and enterprise services. Bluetooth integrates IoT into an app solution. With App Tethering you can also breathe new life into existing desktop applications by extending them to include IoT.
Here's what you will learn:
1) Capture Bluetooth LE data directly from a temperature and heart rate sensor
2) Use App Tethering to build a connected app and create a distributed IoT solution
3) Analyze the data lifecycle of an IoT solution to understand the possible data management and app logic tiers
Virtually all industries can immediately benefit from building connected apps, such as retail, food services, health care, manufacturing and industrial automation, and the applications are limitless!
Watching this video will provide you with valuable information that will help you deliver highly innovative IoT solutions that your users and customers will love.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

The IoT Market
www.nerospec.com 3
The Internet of Things, or IoT, refers to billions of physical devices around the world that are now connected to the
internet, collecting and sharing data. Thanks to inexpensive processors and wireless networks, it's possible to turn
anything, from a pill to an aero plane, into a part of IoT. This adds a level of digital intelligence to devices that
would otherwise be dumb, enabling them to communicate without human intervention and merging the digital
and physical worlds.
What is the Internet of Things?
Forbes indicated that around 8.4 billion IoT devices were in use in 2017, up 31 percent from 2016, and this will
likely reach 20.4 billion by 2020. Total spending on IoT endpoints and services will reach almost $2tn in 2017, with
two-thirds of those devices found in China, North America and Western Europe.
Where is IoT Heading?
It’s easy to mount a sensor that can be accessed from a smartphone, but designing a reliable sensor that can be
remotely controlled and upgraded is an entirely different matter. Questions that you need to ask should be related
to the safety and integrity of the products, licensing issues on a local and global spectrum, how to dispose of the
products in a responsible manner, how to ensure the products can withstand the local environmental conditions, or
whether the products provide the security you desire? Those are just some of the questions involved in creating an
IoT system. Choosing a partner that can answer all these questions is a good start.
What is next, and why choose Nerospec?

LPWAN - Comparison
5
What is LoRaWAN?
Thanks to CSS and ADR, devices can communicate with
gateways at up to a 15km range in open areas. The
LoRaWAN specification is a Low Power, Wide Area (LPWA)
networking (N) protocol designed to wirelessly connect
battery operated ‘things’ to the internet.
What is Sigfox?
Sigfox is a French company founded in 2009 that builds
wireless networks to connect low-energy objects such as
electricity meters, smartwatches, and washing machines,
which need to be continuously powered and emitting small
amounts of data.
What is NB-IoT?
Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) is a Low Power Wide Area
Network (LPWAN) radio technology standard developed by
3GPP to enable a wide range of cellular devices and
services.
What is LTE CAT-M1?
By capping the maximum system bandwidth to 1.4 MHz (as
opposed to 20 MHz for Cat-0), Cat-M is really targeting
LPWAN applications like smart metering where only small
amount of data transfer is required.
What is RPMA?
RPMA (Random Phase Multiple Access) is wireless
technology that was developed by Ingenu, the creators of
the Machine Network™, the only wireless network designed
exclusively for machine to machine (M2M) and Internet of
Things (IoT) applications.
