Neonatal cerebral hypoxia ischemia (HI) remains a major cause of death and neurological
disability. Neural stem cells (NSCs) shows great promise in restoring HI associated neurological
tissue damage and hypothermia is reported to be beneficial for HI recovery in animal studies. We
aimed to investigate whether mild hypothermia after neonatal cerebral hypoxia ischemia (HI) could
enhance the therapeutic effect of NSCs transplantation with a neonatal HI mouse model. Postnatal
day 7 mice underwent right common carotid arteryligation followed by 1.5 h of hypoxia. After HI,
these mice underwent different treatments with hypothermia, NSCs transplantation, or both.
Animals were sacrificed at 24, 48, 72 h and 1, 2, 4 week after the HI. The numbers of apoptotic
cells, survived, and differentiated grafted cells were counted. The levels of caspase 3 and NF ОєB
protein were analyzed. And the restoration of sensorimotor and behavioral functions of HI mice
was assessed. We found caspase 3 dependent apoptosis and inflammation were significantly lower in
the NSCs+hypothermia group. Meanwhile, transplanted cells survived and differentiated better in
the NSCs+hypothermia group, and animals of this group exhibited enhanced functional recovery in
sensorimotor and behavioral tests. These observations suggest that mild hypothermia enhances the
therapeutic effect of NSCs in HI mice through protecting grafted cells, suppressing apoptosis, and
attenuating NF ОєB signaling.

In the Western countries including America, most of the nations incorporated provisions for
slavery within their structure of governance. As slavery took roots in the North and South between
1700 and 1799, it influenced political, social and economic structures of the two regions throughout
the 18th century. Towards the end of 17th century, European masters embarked on granting
independence to their colonies. As the European colonies in the North gained independence,
residents of the independent states acquired cheap land that was left by their colonial masters. As
workers were needed to work on the land and build new towns, some of the families sold some of
their children to provide labor (Goldin, Cameron Balarajan, 2011). Furthermore, during the time of
colonization, American colonies in the North recognized compulsory labor; thus prompting most of
the masters to hire fellow Americans or Europeans as laborers. Although some of the Africans
provided labor in the North during this time, the colonial government did not recognize perpetual
servitude for the Africans. However, with the decline in the number of laborers, the colonial
government was quick to pass a law that contributed to the enslavement of Africans and their

gain insight from the feelings and emotions of those affected, in addition to learning a story or
history that is hidden when studied from above. The story is told from the perspective of the
common people or individual. In this paper, the history of Christianitywill told from below. It will
be told from the prospective of an individual who was born and lived in South Africain the middle
20th century, during apartheid. First, this paper will briefly discuss the beginning of Christianity in
South Africa. Second, it will discuss Christianity and church history during the 20th century, which
