6. APPLICATION SOFTWARE DEFINED
•Application software, or simply applications, are
often called productivity programs or end-user
programs because they enable the user to
complete tasks, such as creating documents,
spreadsheets, databases and publications, doing
online research, sending email, designing graphics,
running businesses, and even playing games!

Graphics-are visual images or designs on
some surface, such as a wall, canvas,
screen, paper, or stone to inform, illustrate,
or entertain.
Word Processing-the production,
storage, and manipulation of text on a
computer or word processor.
Spreadsheet- is both a sheet of paper
designed to capture and show data in rows
and columns.
Database-a structured set of
data held in a computer,
especially one that is
accessible in various ways.d
