The Importance Of Native American Culture, And African...
Food provides a way to establish, transact, reflect and fulfill our cultural identities. It is a way to
represent yourself. The way we go about making, serving, and eating food distinguishes us from
other people and gives the observer an insight into our heritage. In the American south, the
combination of the Native American, European, and African food cultures contributed to the
development of what is considered America s primary Cuisine, southern food. Before the
Europeans even came to New World, the native indigenous people were hunting, gathering, and
cultivating land. When slaves were brought to the New World, they were the ones that taught
the Africans the concept of agriculture. In the article Influence, Sources, and African Diaspora
Foodways, Frederick Opie says, Native Americans taught Africans different ways to farm,
including the gastronomical trinity of beans, corn, and squash. If a slave owner allowed their
slaves to have a garden, the slaves would grow their own crops. Even though their meals were
mostly based off of their rations for the day, having a garden and crops allowed them to have
some leeway as to what they wanted to cook. This is significant because everything was dictated
for them and being able to personally choose how to create their meal was liberating. Africans
would not have been able to create new recipes and establish new techniques of cooking if it hadn t
been for the Native Americans who helped them adjust in the first place. Without the

Statement of Purpose: The purpose of this analysis is to determine if Reynolds Metals (
Reynolds ) should accept NestlГ© s offer of $61 million for its holdings of Eskimo Pie. The
crux of the issue is whether or not the projected income from a proposed Initial Public Offering (
IPO ) by Wheat First Securities ( Wheat First ) is reasonable and will actually result in proceeds
between $61 and $68 million to Reynolds, the Reynolds family and the Reynolds foundation, as
projected. To get at this question, this paper will seek to value Eskimo Pie as a stand alone
company, if the IPO option is selected.
Discount Rate: The first task is to estimate the discount rate, or the rate that investors will require
on this type of investment. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As previously mentioned, net sales will be estimated beginning with the $61 million in net sales
projected for 1991, then relying on Goldman Sach s projected growth rate for 1992 and 1993, and
using a 5% growth rate from that point forward. Net income is estimated for 1992 and 1993 using
Goldman Sach s estimate of the margin.
Free cash flow is then estimated from the net income by subtracting capital expenditures, which
are estimated to be less than $1 million for 1992. Additionally, there are several additional
expenses for 1991 that I believe are ignored by Goldman Sach s estimate. The first is the potential
clean up costs from the spill in the New Jersey plant, estimated at $300,000. However, weighing
other possible outcomes, I estimate the cost to be $374,000, occurring by the end of 1991.
Further, even in the pre Sarbanes Oxley era, the cost of an IPO, and the subsequent filing
documents required by the SEC, is significant. I estimate the cost of the IPO to be $1 million in
1992, and $500,000 each year after for the filing requirements (or the cost of being public). These
amounts are subtracted from the free cash flows in the appropriate years.
Thus, I estimate the value of Eskimo Pie, as a stand alone company, to be $31,770,219. This is
significantly lower than the $61,412,000 or $68,044,000 that Wheat First predicts the IPO will
generate.

Comparing P-51 Mustang And Martin B-26 Marauder
Luke Hameloth
Mrs. Hameloth
HS History
Throughout World War II the US used airplanes in many different ways. Some were used to
carry troops and supplies, some were used as bombers, and some were used to attack directly.
The P 51 Mustang, the Boeing P 17 Flying Fortress, and the Martin B 26 Marauder are just a few
examples of these. Even though each plane had a different job, they all came together to help
win the war. The P 51 Mustang was commissioned by the British Royal Air Force, and was built
by North American Aviation. Its first flight took place on October 26th. The Mustang ran on the
Packard V 1650 7 engine, which was a version of the Rolls Royce Merlin 66 and was mounted
with six .50 caliber M2/AN Browning machine guns. The first units of Mustangs weren t able to
reach high altitudes because of inferior engines, which lead to them being used primarily as
reconnaissance and ground attacking planes. But the US decided to use them as bomber escorts
for deep penetration daylight bombing runs. The Boeing B 17 Flying Fortress was primarily used
by the USAAC (United States Army Air Corps) and was built by Boeing. The B 17 used four Pratt

machine guns on the dorsal fin, and another .30 caliber on the tail. The B 26 was nicknamed
Widowmaker because of its reputation to crash on take offs. It had to be flown at precise speeds,
which was intimidating to pilots. As the crews became more trained for the aircraft, however, it
became safer to fly. The plane was modified as well to make take offs easier and the Marauder soon

Paleolithic Cave Art Research Paper
Paleolithic cave art dates back to around 82,000 years ago.
After all, Paleolithic cave art is the oldest art that is known to the world today. The art in the caves
was representational art to express what was going on in their daily lives, such as the food they ate,
the weapons they used and their hunting lives were documented. Therefore, A large portion of
Paleolithic art was created to express ideas to teach the future generations of hunters and gatherers.
Not only would the stone age people express what they were hunting through drawings, but they
would also keep an inventory as well. For example, they would tally how many animals were
killed that day. They used it as future reference for animal migration patterns. This was helpful
because these people were Nomads, people who don t stay in one place, mostly because of
agriculture, hunting and weather. Some have argued that such images are records of hunts that
served not only to inventory the amount of animals killed as well as future references for animal
migration patterns. (The writers at the New World Encyclopedia, 2013). The cave art also provided

useful weapon they used during this period was the axe. The use of the axe was similar to the use
of the bow and arrow. For example, the axe was also used for killing animals such as pigs or cows.
A techniques that they used that made them successful was fire. Another technique that was used in
their everyday hunting lives was knapping. In this case they would knap flaky stones, such as flint,
chert, or obsidian. . The process of knapping included the chipping of stones into sharp shapes so

Teaching And Learning Language At Early Ages
Introducing English as a Second Language to Early Primary School Curriculum in Saudi Arabia
Candidacy Exam Salwa Alkhuzay @02686337 znzr@iup.edu solly440@gmail.com 412 706 1122
Abstract Teaching and learning language at early ages is easier than learning it at older ages as
Chiswick Miller, (2007) emphasized in their study that proficiency in spoken English decreases with
age. With that notion in mind, it comes as a surprise that the English language is introduced so late
in the public school education curriculum in Saudi Arabia. Over the years as more Saudi students
leave their home countries to study in English speaking countries, the demand for English speaking
skills that are beyond just being conversation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In many countries non native English speakers are introduced of English as a foreign language
in public schools as a required subject beginning in early primary schools. In Saudi Arabia, in
1927 the English language was introduced at the secondary schools without a specific syllabus.
In 1953, teaching English language was introduced at intermediate and secondary schools with
a specific syllabus (Al Subahi, 1989). For many years in Saudi education curriculums English
courses were compulsory and started from middle school up to secondary public schools, the
students ages from 11 or 12 attended intermediate level and at age 18 finish secondary level.
Nevertheless, private schools in Saudi Arabia start teaching English as a foreign language from
first grade onward, however, there are a lot of students who still find mastering English very
difficult, and their performance is still weak. I certainly regret that this is the case; looking back
over our schools I believe they should inspire the students early about the importance of learning
English language for the sake of their future. In short, learning foreign languages not just for giving
ways to communicate with people in other countries, has become important for those who want to
study and get a degree or who want a good job in other countries such as United States, British, or
Australia. Teaching English language to Saudi children will open up new

amid the seventies. She is an amazing and motivating image of conquering a degenerate society s

Queens, NY. This was the start of a considerable rundown of allegations and accusations that she
would be encountering in her life. Life in the US in the 50s was extreme, if you weren t white and

Eugenics, A New Science Of Heredity
Eugenics, a new science of heredity was first introduced in 1883, brought about to address the
budding fears and threats to the purity and fitness of the British race. A fear brought upon by
events such as the Boer War in 1899, forced Britain to question the spectrum of degeneracy within
the population and resolve the issue of bringing the British and White raceback to strength, unified
and fit. Sir Francis Galtondefined eugenicsas the study of agencies under social control that may
improve or impair the racial qualities of future generations either physically or mentally . It was
believed that differences in mental, moral and physical traits between individuals, as well as races

University Students. At this time, America provided a clear example of how race greatly impacted
on the eugenics movement. The United States came across a lot more racialist than Britain; the key
racial targets being the American Negro and various portions of white races emigrating from
Eastern Europe. In a much more patriotic and chauvinistic country this threatened to overwhelm the
superior white race, forcing the development of new immigration and sterilisation laws.
Britain was just as supportive in believing in the dominant White race, however was never as
extreme in it racialism. British Society was ethnically more or less homogenous and therefore it
had not experienced the considerable amount of non white emigrating people than it did in later
decades. . The movement in Britain was marked by variations on existing racial themes, instead of
new compositions. Racism figured a lot less distinctly and was of less importance to British
Eugenics, identifying the new science as primarily class based, focusing more on the biological
fitness of the different classes. Consequently, one could argue that race wasn t awfully important to
the movement, but race figured much more markedly to the eugenics movement in other countries
such as the United

The Mere Nature Of The Soliloquy By William Shakespeare
The mere nature of the soliloquy is to enter the thoughts of a specific character It is a simple idea.
It would make sense that Shakespeare employs this literary method to reveal something about
Hamlet s own internal struggle in any given soliloquy. Hamlet is an conflicted and self disparaging
individual who often finds himself toiling with his own ideas and movies frequently. But the first
soliloquy is used to reveal to the audience that Hamletis furious at his mother and Claudius, even
before he learns his father was supposedly murdered by the new king. The fury toward Claudius
and Gertrudealone is enough to make Hamlet even contemplate suicide, Or that the Everlasting had

By comparing corruption to a rotting plant, Shakespeare manages to insert a large, overarching
theme into a few sentences of a soliloquy.
While there is micro juxtaposition in the sentences and metaphors in the soliloquy, the first
passionate soliloquy provides a striking contrast to the artificial dialogue that Hamlet must
exchange with Claudius in court. The juxtaposition of tone emphasizes how rules and customs
of the royal court that foster corruption. Shakespeare also juxtaposes spiritual things and earthly
things, O, that this is too too sullied flesh would melt,/ Thaw and resolve itself into dew (10).
Hamlet is disgusted by the earthly flesh he has to live in and wishes to be something pure and
spiritual like dew. The earthly things to hamlet, like soil and weeds, are gruesome. To Hamlet,
the world is corrupt and so are the people in it. Shakespeare juxtaposes the earthly with the divine
in order to show how Hamlet, while he wanting to be pure, is trapped on earth by some
obligation, such as a canon gainst self slaughter (10). The ban on suicide is also a symbol for
Hamlet s obligation to stay in the royal court until things are set right.
Allusion is also implemented to emphasize the corruption that is slowly taking over the Royal
court. Shakespeare has Hamlet compare his father, his mother, and his uncle all to different Greek
and Roman mythological figures. Hamlet firsts makes the comparison of

Rutgers University Scholarship Essay
Congratulations, you have been accepted to Rutgers University New Brunswick. These words

Rutgers University wrote to me. In the Fall of 2015, I was an incoming senior at Hunterdon
Central Regional High School. Excited about the years ahead, I applied to many schools
throughout the United States. I applied to two schools in Alabama, two schools in Indiana, two
schools in New York, and only one in New Jersey Rutgers. My initial goal was to be my own
person and go to a University that no one in my family had attended. In fact, my goal was to
attend Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. This was a dream because my closest
grandfather had planned to go there to study engineering. Being a bright student, he was accepted
with a scholarship. Getting ready to leave to form a new beginning and only a few days before
graduation, his father passed away. Unable to go from New Jersey to Indiana knowing that his
family needed him, he decided to stay home and run the family tile business. Years later when my

Liang Heng and Judith Shapiro s Son of the Revolution is a comprehensive story of Liang Heng s
life on growing up during the chaotic times of the Chinese revolution. The purpose of this novel
was to depict the horrors and hardships of life during the revolution period in china during Mao
Zedong s reign. In the beginning of the book, the author portrays that news and ideologies always
stated that the government was working for the good of the people of the country. However, as
the book unfolds the author reveals that the government is actually exploiting the people through
misuse of people s trust. The book also provides insights into the Chinese life during the period of

In hope to re gain status and avoid from being further insulted, divorce was the path Liang Heng
s father chose to take. However, even after the divorce, the Liang family still endured criticism
because once branded, no matter what, they would always be criticized. One of the ways to gain
social status was to marry into a family who was part of a party or of a high social status. So
after divorcing his wife for purely political reasons, Liang Heng s father married a woman who
was both a party member and a high ranking cadre in the a factory. This marriage was obviously
based on Liang Heng s fathers desperate need to gain social status rather than out of love.
Marriage was also based on convenience to both partners. When Liang Heng s father married for
the third time it was because he needed someone who could take care of the house and the
children and in turn the woman had wanted to leave the village she was living in and live in the
city residence where so many goods were available, however the process to transfer her teaching
job from the village to the city was complicated. So she married to Liang Heng s father which
Liang suspected in hope to move to the city easily.

movement in attempt to increase agricultural and industrial production and modernize China s
economy. The author of the book doesn t talk much

Business, Sustainability And The Natural Environment
Business, Sustainability and the Natural Environment, Daniel Katz During the past 25 years,
awareness of the environment has increased tremendously. Non profit organizations look beyond
institutional goals, and instead, try to find a shared vision that works for everyone in the society.
Our society needs to stop consuming as if we have an infinite planet; we have to have integrity for
the world we live in because the natural resources that have been sustaining us will not last forever.
Companies need to evolve with the modern age and changing consumer market. For example,
Netflix never thought they would produce their own shows, however, with the changing consumer
market, they have done just that. Also, NGO s sometimes have to partner with bigger for profit
companies in order to target a larger consumer base, thus, solidifying the fact that the for profit and
non profit sector have to team together in order to sustain the environment in which we inhabit.
Business, Sustainability and Poverty, Jacqueline Novogratz This plenary begins by stating that a
financial crisis occurs when people in the markets do not trust each other. Trust is what makes a
society fair. Corruption flourishes upon weaknesses in economic, political, and social institutions,
and this diverts economic growth by eroding the quality of public goods. In this age, income
equality has increased across countries due to globalization and technology; however, income
inequality within countries has increased as

Romantic dramas contented couples everywhere, showing them what might or might not have been

Realism And The Struggles Of Women
Realism and the Struggles of Women
Realism and Naturalism are literary movements that appeared across America in the late 19th and
early 20th centuries. The two are sometimes used interchangeably, sometimes used as opposites
(Baym and Levine 902). Realism and Naturalism emerged in numerous aspects of life, but are most
evident in literature. The purpose of realism is to demonstrate idealistic views of life in favor of
detailed, accurate descriptions of the everyday (Baym and Levine 902). On the other hand,
naturalism focuses on a more romantic, view of human life than realism (Baym and Levine 902).
Authors that concentrated on realism include Kate Chopin and Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Within
their stories, it becomes clear on which issues they are bringing to life. Chopin and Gilman discuss
the harsh reality of women during their time in, The Story of an Hour and The Yellow Wall paper.
Alternatively, these authors were byproducts for women s rights, as well as realism.
Since the dawn of mankind, women are traditionally recognized as the less dominant sex. History
has shown that women are against this notion and have been seen fighting for equal rights and
freedom. Since the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment, also known as the 19th
Amendment, women have proven themselves to be just as capable as men. But before there was a
push on equal rights for women, authors of the late 19th and early 20th centuries had no
representation. Authors such as Kate Chopin and

Canada Should Not Outweigh The Cost Of Canada
Isn t is depressing to see your loved ones get killed in a pointless war just to acquire a few acres
of land? Some have argued that World War 1 made a nation out of Canada; others have replied that
it has divided us ever since. I think that the benefits did not outweighed the costs. Canada officially
went to war on August 4th, 1914 as a result of the British declarations of war on Germany. Even
though Canadagot nothing to do with the war, Canada did not have the decision or the choice to
join the war due to Canada being one of Britain s colonies. Canada at that time had a total
population of 8 million people, in which, 620 000 served in the war and as a result, 60 661 were
killed and 172 000 were wounded. The casualties were really high. There is no place in the world
that is worth the slaughter of human beings. Interestingly, new technologies including machine
guns, tanks, submarines, airplanes, poison gas, radios, and telephones were introduced in World
War 1. But this also meant death rates would increase and being slaughtered would be highly
possible. In response to the situation, Sir Sam Hughes, Canadian Minister of Militia and Defense,
decided to equip most Canadian troops with the Ross Rifle. The Ross Rifle was an excellent gun
for sniping and sharpshooting, but when it came to rapid firing, the gun tends to overheat and gets
jammed easily, making it very useless in the war. In 1915, Canadian soldiers threw their Ross
Rifles away and collected Mausers from

Human Genome Project Paper
The Human Genome Project is a very well known scientific research project made to determine the
sequencing of chemical base pairs which make up human DNA. The Human Genome Project is
also made to identify and map all of the human genes from both physical and functional parts. But
how does this really affect us?
The Human Genome Project has aimed to provide us with detailed information about the Human
Genome. This will be extremely effective towards studying people with specific diseases such as
heart disease, cancer, diabetes, hypertension and cystic fibrosis. The DNA sequences of any two
people are actually very alike. The little difference is those that cause a high risk of an individual

Privacy issues have also been rising throughout the project. Having this information being shared
across governments or companies and the availability of this information for anyone s interest is a

simply because no one knows how a single gene change can affect humans. Clearly, if used correctly
The Human Genome Project can become a beneficial factor in curing life threatening diseases. The
information from genetic tests, provided by the scientific community, will be shared with the public
and medical communities. By sharing the information, it helps doctors save lives of patients.
However, sometimes scientists still remain unsure on how to interpret the results of tests. Many
agreements were made during the project, resulting in the publication of scientists findings. By

The Personality Analysis Of Wendy Williams
The Personality Analysis of Wendy Williams
Wendy Williams was born on July 18, 1944 in New Jersey. She spent most of her life there, but
would eventually rise to fame when she moved to New York to Pursue a career in broadcasting.
She is now best known as a radio and television personality. As of now, she is the host for the
Wendy Williams show, along with being a designer, a host, and a comedian, among other things.
When watching her, it is very clear that out of all the Big Five Personality traits, she is more of an
extrovert than anything else.
An extrovert, by definition, is an outgoing or expressive person. According to Kendra Cherry
(2016), it is often characterized by excitability, sociability, talkativeness, assertiveness and high
amounts of emotional expressiveness. In addition to those traits, Kennon M. Sheldon, Richard M.
Ryan, Laird J. Rawsthorne, and Barbara Ilardi also found that vigorousness is part of the traits
associated with extraversion (1997, p.4) That would make sense because if you watch Wendy
Williams show, you will see her express most,if not all of those traits.
Those who are extroverts score high in excitement seeking (or excitability) and adventurous
behavior. This means that they are very much into the idea of thrill seeking, and will grow bored
without some level of stimulation (class, 9/8/16). This idea could explain why Wendy is in the
show business. When you watch her show, every time the curtains rises, you see the excitement in
her face.

Censoring The Censorship Of Media
Cesar Ortega

Censoring In the 21st century the censoring of media should be scarce but in the contrary it s
being reinforce by countries. For instance, the act of censoring gay media hurts all those
individuals who are members of the LGBT community and those who wish to learn more about
the LGBT community and its history. It prevents people who wish to find more resources and
information that might be able to change their life for the better. Censoring gay medial is okay
when it promotes hatred and violence but it should not be censor when it promotes helpful
information. It can also promote tolerance and acceptance for gay people and in the process it

Is not just one country that makes it impossible for gay people to be free and openly gay, there
are dozens. It s a real shame to see that many governments are ignorant enough to believe that
imprisonment of gay people will solve the problems their country possesses. When countries
like Cameron have laws that punish people for being gay there is also expected for those
countries to censor websites and media the show gay couples or LGBT resources. In a very
similar way is Uganda s Rolling stone newspaper publishes photographs of gay people with the
headline Hang Them, They are after Our Kids: Pictures of Top 100 Homos (Oates). Having a
government that supports discrimination towards gay people makes it impossible for anyone to
be willing to speak out loud to try to stop the injustices toward the LGBT community. The people
fear that if they speak up they would be putting their life at risk. In a society where the
persecution of gay people is vastly supported there is not a lot of resources available for people to
understand that gay people are being misrepresented with the wrong convictions. As is also well
known in Russia where Anti free speech laws targeting homosexuals are sweeping Russian cities
(Antonova).Though Russia might not directly punish gay people for being gay, they are
suppressing their rights that allow them to express themselves. With laws that are intended to

Weapons In The Elizabethan Era
The latest weaponry
Did you know that in the Elizabethan era, weapons were one of the reason of fashion? In our
modern world today, you won t see anyone walking or strolling in public with a 72 inch rapier
and with a 6 12 inch dagger. Well back in the Elizabethan era and in Shakespeare time that was
one of the fashion that either knights have or rich kids had. In the Elizabethan era the fashion for
the knights are to decorate their rapiers to show their towns people they have money and they
have a lot of respect. Should we be allowed to carry a weapon such as a firearm, knife, or a dagger?
In my opinion I feel like we should carry a firearm but of course the people that do get one has to
have a permit. Such as in Texas and in Colorado they are allowed to carry a firearm. So why can t
we have rights to carry a firearm? Like in the play Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and his friends are

never = 1 to very frequently = 4. The higher the score, the higher the nurses feelings of stress at
work are (Lee, et al., 2007) (Gray Toft Anderson, 1981). Integration and maintenance The sixth and
final step of the practice model is integration and maintenance. Within this stage, evidence will be
integrated into policies, as effectiveness and outcomes of the change are monitored.
Communication for new ideas and updates to make the change better is welcome (Reavy Tavernier,
2008, p. 169). As it pertains to the proposed intervention, there will be a number of visual reminders

have the reminder placed in staff lounges and bathrooms. This stage is the time to truly evaluate if
the change is actually beneficial to the organization and what can be done to continue its progress,
or even make it better for future implications. Facilitating Factors to Implementation Staff nurses
are already open to the idea of group talk and discussion about changes to institutional based
practices that should be changed or implemented. These discussions occur through monthly council

Roman Persecution of Christians The Roman Empire was arguably the most powerful society the
ancient world ever saw. It was an advanced civilization in which not only the rich, but also people
of lower classes residing in Roman borders, believed in the strength of unity. The Romans trusted
that as long as all people worked as one to help the empire, as it was their duty, they would remain
strong and continue to conquer lesser empires and expand their own.. This belief, known as pietas,

Most people know what crucifixion looks like, but what most don t consider is how it must feel
to have nails driven through your limbs. We all recognize the iconic image of Jesus on the
cross, but it s wrong to assume that all crucifixions were executed in the often depicted upright
position. According to Senior Reporter Esther Inglis Arkell, people could be crucified upside
down, sideways along the arms of the cross, or in any other way, shape, or form the emperors
saw fit. Instead of nailing hands to the cross, it was more commonplace and more favorable to
nail the wrists. This meant more stability, and a longer time upright. However, this would also
mean the possibility of cutting a major artery, which would ve caused exsanguination. It s likely
the people carrying out the crucifixion would ve been trained to avoid this, as the point of this
method of torture is to delay the death of the victim for as long as possible. The most common
cause of death resulting from crucifixion has been concluded to be suffocation. The body exhausts
itself to the point where it can no longer physically inhale. It d resemble drowning without water.
However, this could only happen if the victim in question did not first die of exposure. Weather,
scavenger animals such as rats, and even Roman citizens could contribute to the death. Keep in
mind, all this physical pain would occur alongside the slow mental deterioration the victim would
likely experience due to the cruel and public nature of the

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Nelson Mandela s Speech
When we remember Nelson Mandela, most people think of social change, of leadership and of
humanity. Mandela dedicated his life to his belief of equality and freedom for people in South
Africa. As a strong supporter of freedom of speech, Mandela is one of the most revered speakers
of the 20th century. He was born in a small village in the eastern cape of South Africaon July 18,
1918. Nelson studied law in the university of Fort Hare but never completed his degree. In 1941, he

By thanking his supporters, he encourages continuous support to pursue his ideal of equality and
freedom. Mandela wants to engage the different dichotomies to unite the people of South Africa.
Most importantly he speaks for the abolishment of the apartheid government. His tone is
passionate and motivational, and his delivery is slow and deliberate which is important to convey
his message as he needs to empower his listeners towards action. With methods of development, he
successfully conveys his tone. Using anaphora at the beginning with his salutations, he is able to
emphasize his thankful sentiments towards his supporters. He also uses lots of symbolism and
patriotism to emotionally appeal to citizens. With parallelism in sentences, he creates balance and
rhythm in his speech. Repetition is used when speaking about things he intends to do. For
example, he repeatedly uses negotiate to emphasize its necessity. The speech in my opinion is
very effective because Mandela uses emotional appeal at the start to engage listeners and to
receive sympathy. With the momentum from that, he adds logical and ethical arguments to deliver
his point. A year later Mandela was elected as president and he won the Nobel Peace Prize so
history can confirm its effectiveness. Nelson Mandela was a very influential speaker, allowing him
to become one of the most influential leaders of the 20th

of onions, there are seven.
Grams of carbohydrates, five of which are sugar, plus one gram of protein. Onions also contain

Some people do have trouble digesting onions, but usually only when they consume excessive

Definition Of Sanctity Of Human Life
Definition:
Sanctity of human life refers to the fact that human life, due to the fact that humans are created in
the image of God and share His likeness, is valued over the lives of plants and animals. Unlike
plants and animals, God blessed us with the ability to experience and convey emotion. Humans
also can be saved by the blood of Jesus Christ or condemned to hell if they choose not to accept
Christ. Man is the only being created in the image of God, therefore having the aforementioned
blessings of emotion and salvation, making man so much more important. When people ignore this
fundamental and necessary sanctity of life, terrible things like abortion and mass shootings occur.
History:
A biblical example of a violation of the sanctity of human life is in Genesis 4, the story of Cain and
Abel. Cain violated the sanctity of human life and killed his own brother simply because Abel s
sacrifice was accepted by God, but Cain s was not. Cain did not give his best to God in the
offering, but instead of dealing with his own shortcomings with God, he murdered his brother
out of anger and jealousy. By not fixing his own heart issue, he committed a vile sin that would
forever shape his own life and the life of his descendents. There are many modern examples of
this disregard for the value of life, such as: abortion, mass shootings, suicides, and suicide
bombers. One major example is the recent Los Vegas shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival
where 59 people were killed and at

Identity is an essential necessity for humans to demonstrate the distinct individual. A person s
identity may take time to develope as the person acquires new interests, influences, and

people, while Anzaldua is defined as to what a Mexican Americanwomen should be. As a Mexican
American, Amelia Mendoza, my best friend, encounters the strains of identity.
In the summer of 2010, Amelia travelled to Mexico and experienced culture shock. The way
Mexicans live in the United States is different from the life in Oaxaca, Mexico. She was in a
different country where the majority of the population spoke Spanish instead of English. She
was not comfortable enough to open her mouth and speak the native tongue of her parents.
Amelia stood by her relatives side at all times and did not interact with other people in the area.
Communication with other people was handled by Amelia s father. Amelia noticed houses are
not all made from wood, but from adobe and a variety of roof tiles. Trees and animals encompass
the majority of the land, leading people to cultivate their food and make a living off of it. Stores
are located in a section of a person s house. Students had uniforms that were: red, green, or white

Anyone who was not a Jew could be part of it. Jesus used parables to describe what the kingdom of
God is like and how people should act if they wanted to be in the Kingdom.
In the parable of the lamp, Jesus describes the Kingdom of God as a lamp because when a lamp
is lit, it should not be put under the bed or under a bowl, but it is put on a stand so that all may
share it s light, just as the Kingdom of God can be shared by everyone. The meaning of this was
that the disciples had to be like a lamp and let others see the light of god was coming from them.
They had to set a good example for others to follow.
Another of Jesus parables was that of the Mustard Seed. Jesus uses the idea of a mustard seed
because it is so small and develops from one person looking after it. When a mustard seed has
grown into a plant, Jesus says that it is the biggest of all plants, so all the birds can make their
nests in it, just like everyone can share the bounty of the Kingdom of God. The meaning of this
parable is that the smallest seed will grow into the biggest plant, just like the Kingdom of God
grows.
In the parable of the Growing Seed Jesus describes the Kingdom of God as the seed. In this parable
a man scatters the seed in his field, every day he takes care of the seed and slowly but surely it
grows. The meaning of the parable is that like the seed if the Kingdom of God is

Again, it was shown that approximately 70 percent of the federal budget for the war on drugs
(again, the report for the federal budget was statistically manipulated and skewed) was going
towards the imprisonment and law enforcement against the suppliers and users of narcotics. The
effects caused by the imprisonment and armed force against them has sparked violence and civil
injustice around the world. Firstly, look at it from an impoverished family s point of view. The
growing and manufacturing of opium in Afghanistan is their living and their source of what is
usually an inadequate income. When these crops are eradicated and destroyed, and families are
destroyed by this; generally violence, food insecurity/malnourishment, increases in poverty, and a
decline in school attendance are all a result (Barret). It is common knowledge that when things as
rudimentary as food security or school attendance are disrupted, civil injustice has occurred. Or for
the layman, things are really bad. For instance, the drug cartel crisis in Mexico is the perfect
example of what has ensued in part by the drug war. Drug users in the United States are the biggest
customers of the products Mexican cartels have to offer. Because the drug laws are so harsh in
the United States, the drugs were sourced and supplied by Mexican drug cartels. In the 1990 s,

Analysis Of Octavia Butler s Series Of The Parables
I entered Butler University as an English major believing that what we choose to read changes the
way we think, and literature shapes the society we live in. I later changed my major to International
Studies, an interdisciplinary course of study, which allowed me to foster my understanding of the
global society, the complexities of intercultural interactions, and the ability to apply political
theories to interpret one situation from multiple perspectives. When choosing the topic for my
senior thesis, I was torn between delving into a political crisis or taking the opportunity to re visit
my love of literature in an academic framework. Speculative fictionis the crossroads I have found
between my love of literature and my passion for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Two prominent, but conflicting, interpretations are presented by Garrett Hardin and Elinor Ostrom.
Garrett Hardin first proposed in 1998 that the tragedy of the commons cannot be solved with a
technical solution, which he claims is the most socially acceptable type of solution. Hardin goes
on to point out and question social boundaries by challenging his reader to ask him or herself what
is good (Hardin 1244). He acknowledges that good is usually considered to be a varied concept that
is open to human interpretation and construction; however, natural selection commensurates the
incommensurable (1244). Hardin s proposal that freedom is the catalyst for ruin in a communal
society is one of his most controversial claims because he argues that autonomy leaves room for
selfish motivations that lead to the destruction of the overall good. For example, Hardin briefly
discusses world pollution. The atmosphere and oceans are shared resourced or commons for which
many people do not feel responsible, and thus, they are commons which have been damaged and
polluted, affecting both those culpable and inculpable of the created cesspool (1245). Hardin s
interpretation challenges traditional morals that stem

Lucid Dreaming Definition
In the article, The Lucid Dreaming Frequency and Alarm Snooze Button, Lucid Dreaming was
first introduced by Van Eeden. Lucid Dreaming refers to the term in which a person asleep is
aware that they are sleeping. Edeen figured out that approximately 50% of the general population
have had at least one experience of having a lucid dream, while 20% of the general population
experience lucid dreams on a daily basis. Eeden also found that lucid dreams occur during the
stage of sleep rapid eye movement (REM). These stages suggest that there is a state of arousal.
During REM sleep the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex usually deactivates, but the occurrence of lucid
dreams allows the cortex to be active, which presents the awareness of the dreams. Research...

The findings helped show that lucid dreams have a positive correlation with the pushing snooze on
the alarm clock. The results indicate that there is a significant relationship that is a positive
correlation of lucid dreaming and the alarm clock present in the study. Waking up in the middle of
the night to push the snooze button makes the occurrence of lucid dreams higher. The frequency
use of the snooze button has an association with the lucid dream frequency. In future and further
studies they should determine whether experimentally or/and longitudinally the alarm clock
snooze button can induce the lucid dreams during the alarm snooze buttom periods or at other
times during the REM sleep. These present studies have found the brain correlates of the lucid
dreams in the alarm clock snooze period may have not only occurred during the stages of REM
sleep, but also include wake like characteristics of electroencephalogram. One may conclude that
even though this study was the most successful to help show a way to induce lucid dreaming, as
well as how or when they

Essay on James Bond Movies
James Bond Movies
I think that the writers intensions when he created James Bond was that he wanted him to be a
man who could get out of any situation and is irresistible to women, he also wanted him to be a
secret agent who has all these interesting gadgets.
The first film that I will be reviewing is Goldeneye. Goldeneye was released in 1995. The storyline
for Goldeneye is that the Russian mafia has a space based weapons system called goldeneye. Its up
to James Bond to save London from this, on his way he runs into characters such as a beautiful
computer programmer (Izabella scorupco), a former partner (Sean Bean), a wise cracking CIA
agent (Joe Don Baker), an ex KGB officer (Robbie ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
James bond hits women in Goldeneye which a lot of women would find offending. An example of
when he hits a woman is when he is talking to Xenia and knocks her out by a chop to her neck and
puts humor into it by saying good night .
The song Goldeneye by Tina Turner is very effective in the film because it blends in with
everything that is happening in that section of the film. The original James Bond theme is mostly
played in the action parts of the movie and at the start of the movie. The James Bond soundtrack
theme is played in all of his movies, and when you hear that soundtrack you would associate it with
James Bond. When many people that hear that soundtrack being played somewhere they would
immediately link it with James Bond because it is something that resembles him. When there is a
romantic scene in Goldeneye they would play calm and soothing music, and when there is a fight
they would play music that is loud and fast and will get you hyped up.
The second James Bond film that I will be reviewing is Goldfinger. Goldfinger was the third James
Bond film and was created in 1964. In Goldfinger the main character played by Gert Frobe, isn t
the most vicious villain to stand against 007 but he is intelligent and is obsessed with gold. Frobe
is good for the role of Goldfinger because he shows the different personalities that he has cruelty,

Multiple Suicide
This write up follows after the news of multiple suicide that shook the democratic republic of
Nepal this week; one case of a general public who committed suicide after allegation of pirating a
block buster Nepali movie Chakka Panja , and another; the curious case of Anil Adhikari who was
famously known world wide with his rapper alias Yama Buddha
This should be my 15th attempt at erasing/re writing the intro of this write up. Suicide has been
such an ostracized topic that one does not speak until it hits the news. I found it very hard to even
think about how I was going to present my thoughts on it. Until, I feel like I speak to you directly,
Yama Budhha, and hundreds of less known nevertheless equally important souls.
Hi,
My assumption is that there is internet on the other side and you guys can see my posts on

we are sorry, sorry for everything that led you to the path of taking your own life, which never
belonged to you. I m sorry again to drag you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The northern american climate was no match to the bitterness and cold they were feeling on the
loss of your mortal form. I watched the vlog by Girish on your demise, words were coming out

were the inspiration for thousands of youth, and you will always remain as the inspiration for
what you did for us. For me, you were/are and will always remain a champion. I would not negate
your contribution to the nephop culture and the society with your last actions before you left the
human form. I wish I could be happy for your free soul, but, honestly your time was not done. You

  • 2. The Importance Of Native American Culture, And African... Food provides a way to establish, transact, reflect and fulfill our cultural identities. It is a way to represent yourself. The way we go about making, serving, and eating food distinguishes us from other people and gives the observer an insight into our heritage. In the American south, the combination of the Native American, European, and African food cultures contributed to the development of what is considered America s primary Cuisine, southern food. Before the Europeans even came to New World, the native indigenous people were hunting, gathering, and cultivating land. When slaves were brought to the New World, they were the ones that taught the Africans the concept of agriculture. In the article Influence, Sources, and African Diaspora Foodways, Frederick Opie says, Native Americans taught Africans different ways to farm, including the gastronomical trinity of beans, corn, and squash. If a slave owner allowed their slaves to have a garden, the slaves would grow their own crops. Even though their meals were mostly based off of their rations for the day, having a garden and crops allowed them to have some leeway as to what they wanted to cook. This is significant because everything was dictated for them and being able to personally choose how to create their meal was liberating. Africans would not have been able to create new recipes and establish new techniques of cooking if it hadn t been for the Native Americans who helped them adjust in the first place. Without the ... • 3. Hbr Statement of Purpose: The purpose of this analysis is to determine if Reynolds Metals ( Reynolds ) should accept NestlГ© s offer of $61 million for its holdings of Eskimo Pie. The crux of the issue is whether or not the projected income from a proposed Initial Public Offering ( IPO ) by Wheat First Securities ( Wheat First ) is reasonable and will actually result in proceeds between $61 and $68 million to Reynolds, the Reynolds family and the Reynolds foundation, as projected. To get at this question, this paper will seek to value Eskimo Pie as a stand alone company, if the IPO option is selected. Discount Rate: The first task is to estimate the discount rate, or the rate that investors will require on this type of investment. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As previously mentioned, net sales will be estimated beginning with the $61 million in net sales projected for 1991, then relying on Goldman Sach s projected growth rate for 1992 and 1993, and using a 5% growth rate from that point forward. Net income is estimated for 1992 and 1993 using Goldman Sach s estimate of the margin. Free cash flow is then estimated from the net income by subtracting capital expenditures, which are estimated to be less than $1 million for 1992. Additionally, there are several additional expenses for 1991 that I believe are ignored by Goldman Sach s estimate. The first is the potential clean up costs from the spill in the New Jersey plant, estimated at $300,000. However, weighing other possible outcomes, I estimate the cost to be $374,000, occurring by the end of 1991. Further, even in the pre Sarbanes Oxley era, the cost of an IPO, and the subsequent filing documents required by the SEC, is significant. I estimate the cost of the IPO to be $1 million in 1992, and $500,000 each year after for the filing requirements (or the cost of being public). These amounts are subtracted from the free cash flows in the appropriate years. Thus, I estimate the value of Eskimo Pie, as a stand alone company, to be $31,770,219. This is significantly lower than the $61,412,000 or $68,044,000 that Wheat First predicts the IPO will generate. Further Analysis: This of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Comparing P-51 Mustang And Martin B-26 Marauder Luke Hameloth Mrs. Hameloth HS History Throughout World War II the US used airplanes in many different ways. Some were used to carry troops and supplies, some were used as bombers, and some were used to attack directly. The P 51 Mustang, the Boeing P 17 Flying Fortress, and the Martin B 26 Marauder are just a few examples of these. Even though each plane had a different job, they all came together to help win the war. The P 51 Mustang was commissioned by the British Royal Air Force, and was built by North American Aviation. Its first flight took place on October 26th. The Mustang ran on the Packard V 1650 7 engine, which was a version of the Rolls Royce Merlin 66 and was mounted with six .50 caliber M2/AN Browning machine guns. The first units of Mustangs weren t able to reach high altitudes because of inferior engines, which lead to them being used primarily as reconnaissance and ground attacking planes. But the US decided to use them as bomber escorts for deep penetration daylight bombing runs. The art in the caves was representational art to express what was going on in their daily lives, such as the food they ate, the weapons they used and their hunting lives were documented. Therefore, A large portion of Paleolithic art was created to express ideas to teach the future generations of hunters and gatherers. Not only would the stone age people express what they were hunting through drawings, but they would also keep an inventory as well. For example, they would tally how many animals were killed that day. They used it as future reference for animal migration patterns. This was helpful because these people were Nomads, people who don t stay in one place, mostly because of agriculture, hunting and weather. Some have argued that such images are records of hunts that served not only to inventory the amount of animals killed as well as future references for animal migration patterns. With that notion in mind, it comes as a surprise that the English language is introduced so late in the public school education curriculum in Saudi Arabia. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In many countries non native English speakers are introduced of English as a foreign language in public schools as a required subject beginning in early primary schools. In Saudi Arabia, in 1927 the English language was introduced at the secondary schools without a specific syllabus. In 1953, teaching English language was introduced at intermediate and secondary schools with a specific syllabus (Al Subahi, 1989). For many years in Saudi education curriculums English courses were compulsory and started from middle school up to secondary public schools, the students ages from 11 or 12 attended intermediate level and at age 18 finish secondary level. Nevertheless, private schools in Saudi Arabia start teaching English as a foreign language from first grade onward, however, there are a lot of students who still find mastering English very difficult, and their performance is still weak. I certainly regret that this is the case; looking back over our schools I believe they should inspire the students early about the importance of learning English language for the sake of their future. In short, learning foreign languages not just for giving ways to communicate with people in other countries, has become important for those who want to study and get a degree or who want a good job in other countries such as United States, British, or Australia. The United States came across a lot more racialist than Britain; the key racial targets being the American Negro and various portions of white races emigrating from Eastern Europe. The movement in Britain was marked by variations on existing racial themes, instead of new compositions. Racism figured a lot less distinctly and was of less importance to British Eugenics, identifying the new science as primarily class based, focusing more on the biological fitness of the different classes. Hamlet is an conflicted and self disparaging individual who often finds himself toiling with his own ideas and movies frequently. But the first soliloquy is used to reveal to the audience that Hamletis furious at his mother and Claudius, even before he learns his father was supposedly murdered by the new king. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By comparing corruption to a rotting plant, Shakespeare manages to insert a large, overarching theme into a few sentences of a soliloquy. While there is micro juxtaposition in the sentences and metaphors in the soliloquy, the first passionate soliloquy provides a striking contrast to the artificial dialogue that Hamlet must exchange with Claudius in court. The juxtaposition of tone emphasizes how rules and customs of the royal court that foster corruption. Shakespeare also juxtaposes spiritual things and earthly things, O, that this is too too sullied flesh would melt,/ Thaw and resolve itself into dew (10). Hamlet is disgusted by the earthly flesh he has to live in and wishes to be something pure and spiritual like dew. The earthly things to hamlet, like soil and weeds, are gruesome. To Hamlet, the world is corrupt and so are the people in it. Shakespeare juxtaposes the earthly with the divine in order to show how Hamlet, while he wanting to be pure, is trapped on earth by some obligation, such as a canon gainst self slaughter (10). The ban on suicide is also a symbol for Hamlet s obligation to stay in the royal court until things are set right. Allusion is also implemented to emphasize the corruption that is slowly taking over the Royal court. Business, Sustainability And The Natural Environment Business, Sustainability and the Natural Environment, Daniel Katz During the past 25 years, awareness of the environment has increased tremendously. Non profit organizations look beyond institutional goals, and instead, try to find a shared vision that works for everyone in the society. Our society needs to stop consuming as if we have an infinite planet; we have to have integrity for the world we live in because the natural resources that have been sustaining us will not last forever. Companies need to evolve with the modern age and changing consumer market. For example, Netflix never thought they would produce their own shows, however, with the changing consumer market, they have done just that. Also, NGO s sometimes have to partner with bigger for profit companies in order to target a larger consumer base, thus, solidifying the fact that the for profit and non profit sector have to team together in order to sustain the environment in which we inhabit. Business, Sustainability and Poverty, Jacqueline Novogratz This plenary begins by stating that a financial crisis occurs when people in the markets do not trust each other. Trust is what makes a society fair. Corruption flourishes upon weaknesses in economic, political, and social institutions, and this diverts economic growth by eroding the quality of public goods. The purpose of realism is to demonstrate idealistic views of life in favor of detailed, accurate descriptions of the everyday (Baym and Levine 902). On the other hand, naturalism focuses on a more romantic, view of human life than realism (Baym and Levine 902). Authors that concentrated on realism include Kate Chopin and Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Within their stories, it becomes clear on which issues they are bringing to life. Chopin and Gilman discuss the harsh reality of women during their time in, The Story of an Hour and The Yellow Wall paper. Alternatively, these authors were byproducts for women s rights, as well as realism. Since the dawn of mankind, women are traditionally recognized as the less dominant sex. History has shown that women are against this notion and have been seen fighting for equal rights and freedom. Since the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment, also known as the 19th Amendment, women have proven themselves to be just as capable as men. But before there was a push on equal rights for women, authors of the late 19th and early 20th centuries had no representation. Authors such as Kate Chopin and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. Canada Should Not Outweigh The Cost Of Canada Isn t is depressing to see your loved ones get killed in a pointless war just to acquire a few acres of land? Some have argued that World War 1 made a nation out of Canada; others have replied that it has divided us ever since. I think that the benefits did not outweighed the costs. Canada officially went to war on August 4th, 1914 as a result of the British declarations of war on Germany. Even though Canadagot nothing to do with the war, Canada did not have the decision or the choice to join the war due to Canada being one of Britain s colonies. Canada at that time had a total population of 8 million people, in which, 620 000 served in the war and as a result, 60 661 were killed and 172 000 were wounded. The casualties were really high. There is no place in the world that is worth the slaughter of human beings. Interestingly, new technologies including machine guns, tanks, submarines, airplanes, poison gas, radios, and telephones were introduced in World War 1. But this also meant death rates would increase and being slaughtered would be highly possible. In response to the situation, Sir Sam Hughes, Canadian Minister of Militia and Defense, decided to equip most Canadian troops with the Ross Rifle. The Ross Rifle was an excellent gun for sniping and sharpshooting, but when it came to rapid firing, the gun tends to overheat and gets jammed easily, making it very useless in the war. In 1915, Canadian soldiers threw their Ross Rifles away and collected Mausers from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Human Genome Project has aimed to provide us with detailed information about the Human Genome. She spent most of her life there, but would eventually rise to fame when she moved to New York to Pursue a career in broadcasting. She is now best known as a radio and television personality. As of now, she is the host for the Wendy Williams show, along with being a designer, a host, and a comedian, among other things. When watching her, it is very clear that out of all the Big Five Personality traits, she is more of an extrovert than anything else. An extrovert, by definition, is an outgoing or expressive person. According to Kendra Cherry (2016), it is often characterized by excitability, sociability, talkativeness, assertiveness and high amounts of emotional expressiveness. In addition to those traits, Kennon M. Sheldon, Richard M. Ryan, Laird J. Rawsthorne, and Barbara Ilardi also found that vigorousness is part of the traits associated with extraversion (1997, p.4) That would make sense because if you watch Wendy Williams show, you will see her express most,if not all of those traits. Those who are extroverts score high in excitement seeking (or excitability) and adventurous behavior. This means that they are very much into the idea of thrill seeking, and will grow bored without some level of stimulation (class, 9/8/16). This idea could explain why Wendy is in the show business. It s a real shame to see that many governments are ignorant enough to believe that imprisonment of gay people will solve the problems their country possesses. When countries like Cameron have laws that punish people for being gay there is also expected for those countries to censor websites and media the show gay couples or LGBT resources. In a very similar way is Uganda s Rolling stone newspaper publishes photographs of gay people with the headline Hang Them, They are after Our Kids: Pictures of Top 100 Homos (Oates). Having a government that supports discrimination towards gay people makes it impossible for anyone to be willing to speak out loud to try to stop the injustices toward the LGBT community. If emotional exhaustion levels and depersonalization scores are collectively high, while personal accomplishment scores are low, a high level of burnout is indicated (Sabbah, et al., 2012, p. 645) (Maslach Jackson, 2016). The Nursing Stress Scale (NSS) is used to examine stress for nurses working in a hospital. This 34 item questionnaire focuses on seven areas of potentially stressful scenarios, including Death and Dying Patients (7 items), Conflict with Physicians (5 items), Inadequate Preparation (3 items), Lack of Staff Support (3 items), Conflict with Other Nurses (5 items), Workload (6 items), and Uncertainty Concerning Treatment (5 items). Most people know what crucifixion looks like, but what most don t consider is how it must feel to have nails driven through your limbs. We all recognize the iconic image of Jesus on the cross, but it s wrong to assume that all crucifixions were executed in the often depicted upright position. According to Senior Reporter Esther Inglis Arkell, people could be crucified upside down, sideways along the arms of the cross, or in any other way, shape, or form the emperors saw fit. Instead of nailing hands to the cross, it was more commonplace and more favorable to nail the wrists. This meant more stability, and a longer time upright. However, this would also mean the possibility of cutting a major artery, which would ve caused exsanguination. It s likely the people carrying out the crucifixion would ve been trained to avoid this, as the point of this method of torture is to delay the death of the victim for as long as possible. The most common cause of death resulting from crucifixion has been concluded to be suffocation. The body exhausts itself to the point where it can no longer physically inhale. It d resemble drowning without water. However, this could only happen if the victim in question did not first die of exposure. Nelson studied law in the university of Fort Hare but never completed his degree. In 1941, he moved to Johannesburgwhere he encountered the racism led by the apartheid government. Mandela wants to engage the different dichotomies to unite the people of South Africa. Most importantly he speaks for the abolishment of the apartheid government. His tone is passionate and motivational, and his delivery is slow and deliberate which is important to convey his message as he needs to empower his listeners towards action. With methods of development, he successfully conveys his tone. Using anaphora at the beginning with his salutations, he is able to emphasize his thankful sentiments towards his supporters. He also uses lots of symbolism and patriotism to emotionally appeal to citizens. With parallelism in sentences, he creates balance and rhythm in his speech. Repetition is used when speaking about things he intends to do. For example, he repeatedly uses negotiate to emphasize its necessity. The speech in my opinion is very effective because Mandela uses emotional appeal at the start to engage listeners and to receive sympathy. With the momentum from that, he adds logical and ethical arguments to deliver his point. • 32. Definition Of Sanctity Of Human Life Definition: Sanctity of human life refers to the fact that human life, due to the fact that humans are created in the image of God and share His likeness, is valued over the lives of plants and animals. Unlike plants and animals, God blessed us with the ability to experience and convey emotion. Humans also can be saved by the blood of Jesus Christ or condemned to hell if they choose not to accept Christ. Man is the only being created in the image of God, therefore having the aforementioned blessings of emotion and salvation, making man so much more important. When people ignore this fundamental and necessary sanctity of life, terrible things like abortion and mass shootings occur. History: A biblical example of a violation of the sanctity of human life is in Genesis 4, the story of Cain and Abel. Cain violated the sanctity of human life and killed his own brother simply because Abel s sacrifice was accepted by God, but Cain s was not. Cain did not give his best to God in the offering, but instead of dealing with his own shortcomings with God, he murdered his brother out of anger and jealousy. By not fixing his own heart issue, he committed a vile sin that would forever shape his own life and the life of his descendents. There are many modern examples of this disregard for the value of life, such as: abortion, mass shootings, suicides, and suicide bombers. One major example is the recent Los Vegas shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival where 59 people were killed and at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The meaning of this was that the disciples had to be like a lamp and let others see the light of god was coming from them. They had to set a good example for others to follow. Another of Jesus parables was that of the Mustard Seed. Jesus uses the idea of a mustard seed because it is so small and develops from one person looking after it. Garrett Hardin first proposed in 1998 that the tragedy of the commons cannot be solved with a technical solution, which he claims is the most socially acceptable type of solution. Hardin goes on to point out and question social boundaries by challenging his reader to ask him or herself what is good (Hardin 1244). He acknowledges that good is usually considered to be a varied concept that is open to human interpretation and construction; however, natural selection commensurates the incommensurable (1244). Hardin s proposal that freedom is the catalyst for ruin in a communal society is one of his most controversial claims because he argues that autonomy leaves room for selfish motivations that lead to the destruction of the overall good. For example, Hardin briefly discusses world pollution. The atmosphere and oceans are shared resourced or commons for which many people do not feel responsible, and thus, they are commons which have been damaged and polluted, affecting both those culpable and inculpable of the created cesspool (1245). Hardin s interpretation challenges traditional morals that stem ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Lucid Dreaming Definition In the article, The Lucid Dreaming Frequency and Alarm Snooze Button, Lucid Dreaming was first introduced by Van Eeden. Lucid Dreaming refers to the term in which a person asleep is aware that they are sleeping. Edeen figured out that approximately 50% of the general population have had at least one experience of having a lucid dream, while 20% of the general population experience lucid dreams on a daily basis. Eeden also found that lucid dreams occur during the stage of sleep rapid eye movement (REM). These stages suggest that there is a state of arousal. During REM sleep the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex usually deactivates, but the occurrence of lucid dreams allows the cortex to be active, which presents the awareness of the dreams. Research... The results indicate that there is a significant relationship that is a positive correlation of lucid dreaming and the alarm clock present in the study. Waking up in the middle of the night to push the snooze button makes the occurrence of lucid dreams higher. The frequency use of the snooze button has an association with the lucid dream frequency. In future and further studies they should determine whether experimentally or/and longitudinally the alarm clock snooze button can induce the lucid dreams during the alarm snooze buttom periods or at other times during the REM sleep. These present studies have found the brain correlates of the lucid dreams in the alarm clock snooze period may have not only occurred during the stages of REM sleep, but also include wake like characteristics of electroencephalogram. One may conclude that even though this study was the most successful to help show a way to induce lucid dreaming, as well as how or when they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Essay on James Bond Movies James Bond Movies I think that the writers intensions when he created James Bond was that he wanted him to be a man who could get out of any situation and is irresistible to women, he also wanted him to be a secret agent who has all these interesting gadgets. The first film that I will be reviewing is Goldeneye. Goldeneye was released in 1995. The storyline for Goldeneye is that the Russian mafia has a space based weapons system called goldeneye. Its up to James Bond to save London from this, on his way he runs into characters such as a beautiful computer programmer (Izabella scorupco), a former partner (Sean Bean), a wise cracking CIA agent (Joe Don Baker), an ex KGB officer (Robbie ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... James bond hits women in Goldeneye which a lot of women would find offending. An example of when he hits a woman is when he is talking to Xenia and knocks her out by a chop to her neck and puts humor into it by saying good night . The song Goldeneye by Tina Turner is very effective in the film because it blends in with everything that is happening in that section of the film. The original James Bond theme is mostly played in the action parts of the movie and at the start of the movie. The James Bond soundtrack theme is played in all of his movies, and when you hear that soundtrack you would associate it with James Bond. When many people that hear that soundtrack being played somewhere they would immediately link it with James Bond because it is something that resembles him. When there is a romantic scene in Goldeneye they would play calm and soothing music, and when there is a fight they would play music that is loud and fast and will get you hyped up. The second James Bond film that I will be reviewing is Goldfinger. Goldfinger was the third James Bond film and was created in 1964. In Goldfinger the main character played by Gert Frobe, isn t the most vicious villain to stand against 007 but he is intelligent and is obsessed with gold. Frobe is good for the role of Goldfinger because he shows the different personalities that he has cruelty, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Multiple Suicide This write up follows after the news of multiple suicide that shook the democratic republic of Nepal this week; one case of a general public who committed suicide after allegation of pirating a block buster Nepali movie Chakka Panja , and another; the curious case of Anil Adhikari who was famously known world wide with his rapper alias Yama Buddha This should be my 15th attempt at erasing/re writing the intro of this write up. Suicide has been such an ostracized topic that one does not speak until it hits the news. I found it very hard to even think about how I was going to present my thoughts on it. Until, I feel like I speak to you directly, Yama Budhha, and hundreds of less known nevertheless equally important souls.
