Setting The setting of the game is in Russia and Germany, in this particular scene it is in
what looks like a small village North of Valkenswaard
The scene starts with no music you can just hear
rain which I think builds more tension. Which i
think works as the setting is a small village where
Germans could be waiting for them
Mood At first the mood is tension because the Russian soldiers are moving through a
village where there could be Germans preparing an ambush. They are then alert as
the leader tells his men to stop. There is then alarm as one of the troops tells the
leader to stop because he has seen a German. I think there is then panic as troops
jump over walls to cover themselves. There is the sadness as one of troops realises
that the leader is dead. The mood then changes to determination as a soldier tries
to rally one of the men
The game starts off with no music which I think
works well with the mood because I think that
with no music it builds tension by just using rain.
There is then all of a sudden sound in the
background which tells you something is about to
happen before the dialog is spoken I think the
sound was made electronically as I cannot think of
a way to do it physically. The sound then changes
when when the leader gets shot which is
supposed to make seem more sad. The music the
played for the rest of the scene
Game genre The game genre is RTS I do not think they made music for this specific
genre
Narrative You can tell that the soldiers are Russian as they speak with Russian accents I think they did this by getting Russian people to
say the lines in a microphone
