The first thing I did was make a terrain as this is what you design your environment on. The next
thing I did was to make mountains which I then changed the amount of that as I put too many and
there wouldn’t be anything left to do. Next I wanted to have sand next to water I was planning to do
sand so I go a texture in Unity for sand and since this was my first texture I added the entire terrain
was the same colour. So that the entire map didn’t look like a dessert I put a grass texture. I then
made a waterfall on the cliffs to make it more interesting. I then started to add trees.
I then decided to make a castle be the focus of my map. I thought this as I am trying to make a
mediaeval environment and in a medieval populace there would normally be a castle which would
be the focus of that environment. I made all the cliffs the same texture to have consistency. I added
water texture that I hoped would make the water more realistic. I added a forest to make my
environment more interesting
I then added a water texture to the area next to the water near the houses in an effort to make the
water more realistic. I added boats as I wanted to make a environment in which the town was under
attack. For this they used boats. I added a bridge as I thought that would be used to fire arrows at
invaders coming from sea. I added houses near the forest ant the water and forest as I thought that
what medieval people would do so they were close to their key recourses. I added houses near the
castle in the mountain as I thought that medieval people would also do this as they would be quickly
protected from their army inside the castle. I added snow to the mountains in far top right so that
they would look different. As the mountains were covered in snow I thought that I should get rid of
the water and add ice. I then made the castle which required make to change the layout of the
mountain in the middle. As the floor was not flat at the bottom of the castle.
I decided to change the mountains on the map right to be continuous as I felt that I should get rid of
the dessert in it did not look realistic. This meant that I need to do something to make it look like less
space not being used. As whatever asset or texture I downloaded from either wwww.cgtextures.com
or the asset store I could not find one which made it obvious that there was supposed to be ice next
to the mountain. This then made to do a waterfall again however I downloaded a different water
pack from the unity asset store which made the water looks a lot more realistic. I could then get rid
of the water texture I added previously as it was no longer required. I then resized the castle to
make it bigger which required to make more small changes the mountain. I then added town next to
the castle. I added walls to I for realism. I had to different houses changed the order of to make
more realistic. I purposely made it so you could only access it through going past the castle which I
thought was good as that wold protect the city.
