3. Virtual Reality Becomes Reality
In 2018, the bionic contact lens enters mass
production, decimating the smartphone
market.
This allows users a gamut of new
opportunities, such as seeing what others see
or immersing themselves into a virtual gaming
world.
4. Virtual Reality Becomes Reality
Using the lens along with an aural implant and
a 3D video camera, it is now possible to
communicate with people on the other side of
the world as if in a face-to-face conversation.
Productivity in the workplace soars as work-
related travel is no longer needed.
5. Roger’s
Diffusion of Innovations
According to the theory, the bionic lens will
only be adopted by about 16% of users, the
Innovators and Early Adopters, in the first
year.
After the benefits are realised, an additional
34% of users, the Early Majority, will adopt the
technology.
6. Roger’s
Diffusion of Innovations
During the Cyborg-War of 2022, the rate of
users sharply grows another 32%—the Late
Majority.
Finally, the Laggards—or the remaining
16%—slowly come around by the end of
2024.
8. The Dawn of a New Age
Traditional computer formats, the desktop and
the laptop, have depreciated.
The replacement, invented in 2020, is a cloud
based computing system transferred to
holographic touchscreens.
These computers are now 100% portable as
they are weightless—supported by the bionic
lens.
9. Moore’s
Innovation Adoption Rate
The Chasm between the Early Adopters and
the Early Majority is crossed in 2021 when the
bionic lens gains cloud-computer support.
This Chasm being crossed further fuels the
adoption of the bionic lens before the Cyborg-
War of 2022.
11. The World Grows Closer
In the early 2020s, social media giants such
as Facebook and Twitter are gradually
replaced by a new social media giant:
LenShare.
LenShare allows users to communicate
through virtual reality using the bionic contact
lens.
12. The World Grows Closer
The Cyborg-War of 2022 LenShare’s
dominance as it allows real-time updates of
soldiers’ experiences, allowing users to live
them.
This results in the greatest public anti-war
sentiment since the Vietnam War.
13. Uses and Gratifications Theory
Social interaction was harmed by early to mid
2010s social media networks.
LenShare, created in 2019, allows users to
fulfil the needs of more effective
communication.
An added benefit is the chance to see old or
distantly-located friends in “person,” gratifying
the user.
