Communication is a process of sending and
receiving messages through verbal and/or non-
verbal means-speech (oral communication),
writing (written communication), signs, signals
and behaviour.

verbal communication. Verbal communication
is the sharing of information with using words.
It is divided into two parts:
Oral communication
Oral communication is the most
popular and common in personal as
well as in in business communication.
The process of expressing information
or ideas through spoken words is
known as oral communication.
Written communication
Written communication means sending of
messages, orders or instructions in writing
through letters, circular, manuals, reports,
telegrams, office memos, bulletins, etc. it is
a formal method of communication and is
less flexible.

There is a proverb “action speak louder than words”, it is the
essence of non –verbal communication. Non-verbal
communication includes facial expressions, the tone and the
pitch of the voice etc.

Two-way communication occurs when the receiver
send response or feedback to sender’s message. In
two-way communication process, the sender first
transmits the message to the receiver.
