Blood Spatter Research Paper
The pattern of the blood spatter and the quantity of blood present can give clues as to the nature of
the incident. For instance if a victim had been stabbed or shot or any other injury, the blood spatter
pattern can reveal the origin of the blood.
1.If passive bloodstains are found in the crime scene then, a blood stain was created by the force of
gravity. If there is a pool of blood, the source of blood is stationery. In the case of drip pattern, the
bloodstain results from blood dripping. If there is a flow pattern it is due to the effect of gravity or
the movement of the object.
2.Projected bloodstains occur as a result of the transfer of energy to a blood source.
If there is high velocity impact spatter, this would have resulted

The Revolution Of One Territory Essay
KUDZU CONSUMER OVERVIEW: The Revolution of One territory was less compelling than
Look North. This museum anthem manifesto in conjunction with the print focused the territory on
innovation. The area was seen as different from other healthcare network advertising because it
took the point of view of the organization versus the patient perspective. At risk in this area is that
it was seen as too company centric, lacking in a compelling consumer benefit, too clinical and
missing the very important softer more personal touch that Mom s want for their families when it
comes to healthcare. Main Message: This territory packed a broad messaging punch with three
core thoughts: 1) Overtly conveyed the name change from NSLIJ to Northwell 2) Innovation is
important at Northwell 3) Revolutionary ideas can come from anyone, at any level in the
organization. Some consumers said the main idea was about revolution; others said it was about
an organization that cared about all its employees and sometimes focused on innovation The name
change. That was emphasized. North Shore hospitals will change to Northwell LI Revolutionary
ideas from the old in the museum to the new in the chip LI Revolutionary ideas can come from
anywhere LI It s a rebranding LI It s about innovation NYC One thing can lead to many
improvements NYC They all act as one and innovation is very important to them NYC Core

The Digital Record Label For The Edm Artist Essay
SINE RECORDS PORTFOLIO
Industry:
Sine Records will be a Scottish record label for the EDM artist who is looking for a reliable and
approachable company to release their music through. Our aim is to forge long lasting and personal
relationships with our artists and our consumers. A strong online presence will form the foundation
of the company and the form in which our products will be sold.
Not only will Sine Records release music, but we will also market sample packs and synthesiser
presets that come straight from our artists. Extra marketing tools such as competitions will stem
from this and result in a more engaging experience. Online content such as blogs, mini interviews,
and music videos will keep the audience engaged.
In today s music industry, the majority of recorded music is consumed through digital means
mainly via streaming such as Apple Music and Spotify. To get an idea of its popularity we can
see that in 2014, streaming usage increased by 39%, and in 2015, streaming officially took over
both downloads and CD sales. (RIAA, 2015) (IFPI, 2015, pp. 8 9) Starting a label in this present
time may be challenging. However, with an adaptable and versatile business plan and an intelligent
use of marketing, there is ample opportunity for a company to flourish. See appendix (i) for a
graphical breakdown of the industry.
With this knowledge, our label will focus on streaming and downloads. A report by Nielsen that
shows EDM performs well in streaming. In

The design and construction schedules were developed for over a year prior to the start of
construction in April of 2011. The fully detailed baseline schedule for the project consists of

was determining the best strategy to construct such a large project and remove the 600,000 cubic

Feminization Of Poverty Essay
Healthcare and the Feminization of Poverty: What examples have you observed
The meaning of disparities is often linked to racial or ethnic disparities, although there are many
others disparities to consider in today s society. These disparities such as income, education,
transportation, housing all have influenced the meaning of disparities. Minorities groups such as
African American, Hispanics, Indians/Alaska Natives, and low income groups are more likely to be
uninsured, whereas Whites with a higher income are not affected.
Define the feminization of poverty
Feminization of poverty can be defined by the increasing female population on low income or in
poverty. Since 1970, the increase of poor women greatly outnumbered that of poor man resulting
in the termed feminization of poverty most households are headed by Socioeconomic can also be
linked to femininization of poverty by lack of education, income and a range of health problems,

Having a higher income can provide better nutrition, housing, schooling, and recreation. One
explanation for this is that goods and welfare and the experience of inequality are both greater
and in turn affect health. At a higher level health reflect relative status, while at the lower part it
is more deprivation. As far as demographics, it also plays an important role in healthcare. As
previously mentioned, transportation is a major problem getting to the doctor if you live in a low

County Sheriff Research Paper
The most important local county office to me is the Sheriff. When most people think of our county
Sheriff they think of their job as writing tickets and arresting criminals; although these things are
part of their job these things are just a piece of the responsibility that Sheriffs all over the country
carry. When most people hear the word Sheriffthey think something negatively. These people don
t realize everything a Sheriff does to keep us and our county safe. The Sheriff is the highest Law
Enforcement Officer in the county with authority over deputies, bailiffs, and constables. Sheriffs
are elected by the citizens of the county and are paid by the county. Sheriffs have a very important
job and they also take on many responsibilities when they are sworn in. Sheriffs have continued to
uphold responsibilities from the past but they have also expanded their duties to familiarize with

The legal system in a county relies fully on a sheriff s leadership. The county goes to their Sheriffs
often to seek out help involving security problems. Sheriffs are also looked up to for management.

problems within in the jail. Sheriff s definitely have to be ready for anything that the courthouse,
deputies, or bailiffs need from them. Sherriff s do many simple things such as patrolling
neighborhoods for safety, investigating complaints, and performing civil duties. They also,
however, handle more serious matters such as executing warrants, emergency response, and
criminal investigations. They do all of these things to ensure the safety of the people in their

Trying To Talk With A Man By Adrienne Rich Essay
Adrienne Rich on the Oppression of Women in 1950s Marriages Adrienne Rich is one of the
most well known female poets in the world. Rich is a female poet who is most recognized for her
progressive writing during the feminist movement (Fox). In the feminist movement, feminists
including Rich, expressed their ideas through their writing on important issues which were not
openly discussed, including women s roles in society, and the treatment and oppression of
women, especially within their marriages. (Napikoski). Rich s work continues to be studied today
because of her endless passion for her subject matter. Rich s use of metaphors and symbolism in

Even after Aunt Jennifer is dead, she will continue to be emotionally scarred by the agony she was
tormented with during her marriage as described in line 10, Still ringed with the ordeals she was
mastered by . Ringed symbolizes the marriage that trapped her , the master or in this circumstance
her husband is the ordeals that she suffers (G 3). The constant and unhealthy praising and attending
her husband becomes a part of her and her suffering. According to Harris, Uncle s ring seems the
only artifact effecting a life s course (178). Nothing throughout Aunt Jennifer s life had such a
horrendous impact that would continue to influence her after her death than her tortuous and
oppressive marriage. In like manner, Rich s use of metaphors and similes in Trying to Talk with a
Man display how 1950s marriages severed due to their brutal nature, especially towards women.
Rich uses several metaphors throughout Trying to Talk with a Man to illustrate the cruelty women
faced in their marriages throughout the 1950s. Rich s use of metaphors and similes illustrate the
decline of the marriage, which occurs not only in the poem, but in many marriages of the 1950s
(McArdle 7). The wife of the marriage and the speaker of the poem, describes the cruel treatment
she receives from her husband that is leading to the fallout of their relationship.

Study Abroad Could Be So Much Better Summary
Studying abroad will bring the students into a new environment where will have experiences of a
lifetime. My brother is one who came back with several great experiences. He got to see the
world. Studying abroad is a thing that will get students out of the U.S. They will be out of the area
that they most likely lived in their whole life. This experiencewill introduced them to a new culture
that is unique. They will be part of a completely new culture and surrounded by that culture. Too
many students only know what s in the US. Living abroad for a year will give them information
about that foreign country and also allow them to travel to what s almost a whole new world in a

A huge point in her argument is that both when a student is leaving to go the the country and when
they are coming home the student is never prepared for the cultural experience. She provides facts
about a survey that she conducted showing how few students are being prepared efficiently for the
change. She created a survey of 350 students from across the US where she said that only one
fourth of students were provided with any cross cultural training before they left (Berdan). She is
arguing that more students need to be prepared from the beginning of the experience and even
when they are going back home to the states. While this may be true that not enough students are
prepared for the change, the change that they are going through is one that is almost impossible to
do successfully. Students that study abroad would be placed into a different country with a handful
of students that are similar to them is a unique experience and something that can not be prepared
for. This world is changing so learning from a textbook that is outdated is not as beneficial as living

W.E.B. DuBois The Souls of Black Folk Essay
W.E.B. DuBois The Souls of Black Folk
W.E.B. DuBois, in The Souls of Black Folk describes the very poignant image of a veil between
the blacks and the whites in his society. He constructs the concept of a double consciousness,
wherein a black person has two identities as two completely separate individuals, in order to
demonstrate the fallacy of these opinions. J.S. Mill also describes a certain fallacy in his own
freedom of thought, a general conception of individuals that allows them to accept something
similar to DuBois double consciousness and perpetuates the existence of the veil.
DuBois double consciousness is quite simply the twoness of American Negroes. It is this sense of
always looking at one s self through the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As DuBois looks through the veil, he can see a world that he loves, but cannot belong to because it
belongs to the whites. The veil perpetuates the concept of alienation from the world to which he
knows he will never belong. From the other side, whites look through at blacks, and construct their
own opinions of the opposing race, and in doing so, create an opinion that is accepted by blacks
themselves. The distortion created by the veil muddles the world of the whites and also the self
knowledge within each individual on the black side of the veil.
This sort of idea is the same thing that Mill critiques in the early parts of On Liberty. Mill
discusses that few think it necessary to take any precautions against their own fallibility, or
admit the supposition that any opinion, of which they feel very certain, may be one of the
examples of error to which they acknowledge themselves to be liable. (Mill 615). Herein lies the
problem of the whites, as over time they have come to accept their own ideas of the blacks in the
United States without accepting the possibility of their own fallibility. Mill would argue that
dissenting voices need to be heard in order to bring forth the right opinions, but with the veil the
DuBois discusses, this is an impossibility. Mill discusses the infallibility of the the world in
general (Mill 615) that is accepted by individuals living in a particular place.

Environmental Challenges Facing The American Auto Industry
Written Assignment Unit 5 Environmental challenges facing the American auto industry The
American auto industry has been in existence since 1896 when Henry Ford built his first car. He
then invented the assembly line which allowed for the production of multiple cars, and this made
the price of cars more affordable to buyers. By the 1920s, the assembly line concept of production
was used by the largest auto companies in the United States, namely Ford, General Motors and
Chrysler. The auto industry has always been faced with environmental and hazardous issues. Such
issues include global competition, new technology for powering the product that this industry
produces, and the effect of emissions on the environment. Global competition In 1995, a trade
agreement was made between the United States and Japan. Because of this agreement, Japanese
cars became more readily available in the USA, directly competing with American brands such as
Ford, Chrysler, and General Motors. Additionally, Japanese dealer outlets established a recognizable
presence in the USA, making replacement parts easily available. This helped to increase
competition since it provided an incentive for Americans to purchase Japanese cars. Moreover, even
in other markets, American car companies failed to maintain their previously strong position as
countries such as India, China, and South Korea were also into the manufacturing of automobiles.
Even though these countries were proving competition to the

Adrienne Rich Education Rich Analysis
Poet Adrienne Rich gave an inspiring speech during a convocation at Douglass College in 1977.
Even though this was quite a few decades ago, her words are still relevant today. Education is still
not taken as seriously as it should be and this is disappointing because it is the most important tool
that leads to a successful life. Rich s speech describes how to claim an educationrather than simply
receive one, and this is something that all students need to take into consideration.
Most students take a passive approach to their education. In other words, they do the bare minimum
needed in order to get by and receive their diploma. However, what they don t understand is that this
is hurting them more than helping them. From what I read in the posts from my fellow ... Show

Tsar Autocracy In Russia
In the course of Russian History, there is a long running debate over whether Russia tends
towards autocracy or if it is merely the illusion of autocracy. In its place, some have proposed
that an oligarchy ruled by consensus. The relationship between the Tsar and the Boyars is the
subject of much debate and varied based on the time in history and the personality of the Tsar.
However, in general, the trend is towards autocracy. There are a few reasons for this. The first is
that the importance of the Boyars is often overstated in relation to the political power of the Tsar.
The second is that the policies, as much in fact as in law, are by and large determined by the Tsar.
The final reason for the trend towards autocracy, is the all encompassing... Show more content on

According to Orthodox theology, there could be no Christian church without a secular power to
protect it and enforce its teachings; there had to be a Third Rome with its own emperor. After
Constantinople was conquered in 1453, Russia remained the only rightful claimant of the title
of Third Rome . In the culture of Russia at the time the best way to build a reputation was to be a
pious Orthodox man. The Tsar was not only deeply entwined with the practice and leadership of
the Orthodox Church in Russia; he also embodied its social and political influence. The Tsar was
able to claim that his right to rule was divine because the church was both influential and in favor
of a strong ruler who professed the Orthodox Faith. While there were many different religions
present in Russia, it was truly the Orthodox Church that was the most influential and widely
accepted in elite circles. What does this mean in regard to the relationship between the Tsar and
the Boyars? The Tsar was able to justify his decisions on a religious basis, which was acceptable
to most Russians, without having to have the consensus of the Boyars. Again, while the Boyars put
forth their advice or dissent, the Tsar exercised relatively unrestrained power as an executive and as
a legislator in Russia. Byzantine dogma represented politics as the responsibility of the rulers and
this facilitated the

What Is The Psychological, Social And Cultural Aspects Of...
From the time we are born, we are taught the correct way to act within society. We are taught the
rules of conduct of society and we learn to follow them in order to be socially normal. The second
we are born or even before we are born we are determined a gender. The rest of our life and the way
we are expected to act revolves around that gender. Our gender shapes who we are expected to be
and shapes an image in our parents head of who they want us to be. Gender plays a key role
throughout our life, it is defined as the psychological, social and cultural aspects of masculinity and
femininity(butler sweet,c,2017). Masculinity and femininity have been standardized into their own
stereotypes. For example, masculine is known as aggression, competitive, brave, etc. While
feminine is known as sensitive, weak, nurturing, etc. Because of these traits and these stereotypes
masculinity holds a higher power over femininity. Therefore, when the parents have the child and
they find out what gender they are they automatically uphold them and raise them according to
these standards. This begins to refer to gender socialization which is the process by which we
learn the rules and conduct the behavior of masculinity and femininity (butler sweet,c,2017).
Meaning, that from a young age, we learn the correct way to act within society, including the
correct way to act according to our biological gender. Once our parents know if we are a boy or a

Karma Of Hinduism And Western Culture
Karma in Hinduism Western Culture Karma is a well known term that has been used throughout
the ages. Though it was first used through Hinduism, people from all over the world and from
different cultures have all learn its definition and use it in their daily lives. While in Hinduism,
karma is a normal part of their lives and path to God, but in Western culture, karmais normally
welcomed when there is revenge to be had or a reward to be received. In some cases it could be
both. In Hinduism, karma is basically cause and effect. It leaves no room for chances and depends
heavily on personal responsibility, so no saying that an event happened by luck, good or bad
(Huston 64). This idea can sometimes lead other outside the religion and few in to relate it to
fatalism, but to Hindus that understand it, it is not like fatalism at all (Huston 65). For them,
karma allows for you to make choices freely, but with each choice does come consequences, but
not every consequence is bad. It is all choices and consequences are all based of what the soul or
jiva wanted(Huston 65). The actions of a jiva, or the choices it makes, will all lead to an eventual
life of repetition of wanting more out of life, but if it can see past the game that it is and insteads
goes after something infinite and eternal, then will the jiva fill more complete (Huston 66). For
Hindus, karma is just another part of their lives but does not bring fear to them. Meanwhile, in
western societies, karma is many times

The Supply Chain Of Supply Chains
Supply chains has been relevantly defined as a system of organizations which are convoluted
through upstream and downstream linkages, in the diverse methodologies and activities that create
benefit in the form of services and products in the hands of a definitive consumer , and is therefore
the sum total of efforts in integrating a network of firms and coordination as regards information,
material and financial flows. Interestingly, the two main supply chain objectives have moved, from
decreasing operating expenses and general inventory levels, to the concerns of how to enhance the
customer service and the momentum of product delivery to the business sectors. Figure 1

Toyota s Production System cherishing lean intuition has since a long time ago been an industry
benchmark.
Uncertainties examined by supply chain:
The significant issue in the supply chain is establishing problem free and uninterrupted operation of
supply and so the function of supply chain as a defense against the uncertainties and unexpected
characters has been initiated for a long time. Figure 1 illustrates the uncertainties which are
investigated and solved by effective execution of supply chain.
In order to minimize the influence of these supply uncertainties, the supply chain managers should
recognize their origins, the desired market size, examined possible outcomes and the consequence
of their impact. Shockingly numerous supply chains will not record and track these elements that
may effects into under stock or over stock, underestimation of the investments and lead time in the
inappropriate resources for productivity enhancement. Besides these factors supply chain
management includes replenishment planning, inventory planning, warehouse management,
production scheduling, logistics and transportation operation in the auto industry.

Leagile supply chain is coned by integrating the theories of lean and agile supply chain. Lean is
defined as a series of operations or activities to eliminate the waste, decrease non value added

The Battle Of Battle For Okinawa
Raining Steel
Having in direct fire assets helped to impact the battle of Okinawa enormously. There were
dilemmas, troubles, and endeavors. This battle leads to the progression of our artillery. It educated
the military and artillery showing it is difficult to shoot, move, and communicate effectively when
moving with the fast pace of a battle. Throughout the 82 day battle, they used marine air, artillery,
mortars, and naval gunfire. Artillery provided fires delaying, disrupting, and destroying the enemy,
proving who the true king of battle is.
The battle for Okinawa begin on 01Apr1945 and went until 22Jun1945. The capture of Okinawa
was part of the plan to win the Far East war. The island of Okinawa is a part of a group of islands
at the southern end of Japan. The main focus for the Americans were four airfields that were on the
island that they wanted to control. The forces that made up the American landing party were the III
Amphibious Corps and XXIV Corps, making the Tenth U.S. Army under the command of
Lieutenant General Simon Bolivar Buckner Jr. American forces had not been able to gather very
much intelligence about the island which made it difficult to determine how many enemy forces
there have been. There were over 130,000 Japanese troops waiting on the island. There were over
450,000 civilians which made operations harder for American forces. The enemy forces were
mainly down in the southern sector of the island waiting for the Americans. The beach

Mental Health, Tobacco Regulation, And Medical Marijuana
The policies introduced at the state level were associated with mental health, tobacco regulation,
and medical marijuana. The first bill is HB 1072, which seeks to grant prescriptive authority to
psychologists who meet specific education, training, and registration requirements. Supporters
include the Hawaii State Center for Nursing, Hawai i Medical Association (HMSA), and the
Coalition for a Drug Free Hawai i (CDFH). Due to the widespread shortage of mental health
professionals in Hawai i, these supporters believe that granting prescription privileges to licensed
clinical psychologists will increase access and treatment for mental health. This can potentially fill

The Drug Policy Action group and the State of Hawaii Department of Health support this bill
since it will increase access to medication. However, both have reservations regarding the
administrative impacts this bill will have on marijuana dispensary operations. The Department
of Transportation (DOT) also support this bill. However, the DOT recommends they be
included in the commission along with law enforcement due to the potential increase in
marijuana impaired driving that may occur after passing this bill. Those that oppose this bill
include the Coalition for a Drug Free Hawai i (CDFH) and the Department of Public Safety s
Narcotic s Division (PSD). Due to the PSD s duty to enforce the Federal Controlled Substances
Act, which includes marijuana, they believe they should not be involved in the oversight

which could potentially result in a waste of resources. This bill is stalled and has not been
scheduled for another hearing. The final bill is HB 1176, relating to the sale of e liquids. This bill

My Personal Educational Philosophy Essay
Educational Philosophy Essay My personal educational philosophy is a combination of
perennialism and essentialism, which leaves me uniquely well armed to teach my subject of
choice: History. History, viewed as a whole, is a monument to the achievements of Man. It is
unchanging, though new aspects may be found or brought to light, and it can be viewed from many
angles, it is an unchanging truth that what happened, has indeed happened. Through a thorough and
guided exploration of this subject, students can learn many of the essential skills they will need to
succeed later in life. My desire to teach and the development of my particular philosophycan be
relatively easily derived from my own, personal, history. My earliest memorable connection with
the subject that defines me came from semi monthly trips to my great grandparents home in
Jacksonville, TX. Every trip we would pass a large stone monument to Sam Houston, a man who
was essential to the development of the state of Texas. After enough questions about his life my
parents took us on a trip to San Antonio, Texas, where the Presidio San Antonio de Bexar sits The
Alamo. Here I began to delve into military history, and the complexity of stories being written
from both sides of the trenches and firing lines. Reading those stories, and the experiences of the
men in them, I realized that they were experiencing feelings similar to ones that regular people
experience on a daily basis: anxiety, depression, self doubt, and

The chimpanzee became its own species when it separated...
The chimpanzee became its own species when it separated from bonobos about 2 to 3 million
years ago (Mitchell, and Gonder). According to the article Chimps And Bonobos , this most
likely happened because of allopatric speciation which is the separation of a species through
physical forces like mountains or rivers that isolate the two groups. The physical force that
separated the two species was most likely Zaire River which is also called the Congo River in
Sub Sahara Africa. About 2 million years ago there was a drought south of the river and drove the
gorillas that were living the area north. Without an apex predator in the area the common ancestor
of the two animals crossed the river and became isolated from their relative the bonobo.... Show

According to Chimpanzee, an example of a homologous structure it shares with its descendants is
its relatively large skull. As the animals became more evolved their skull shapes started to
change to accommodate for a larger brain. This size difference is shown in Figure 2 because you
can see the difference in the brain and skull size of the chimpanzees (bottom) and humans (top)
(Chimpanzee). This is because Cranium size is determined by brain size and recent evidence by
(Dumas, 2012) shows that this is likely determine by a protein domain called DUF1220.
DUF1220 is a domain, a sub section of a gene, which is about 65 amino acids long and expressed
mostly in neurons (DUF1220). Research (Dumas, 2012) shows that more copies present in the
genome the larger the brain size is in that animal. Humans have 270 copies and the trend goes
down from there with Chimps having 125, Gorillas 99 and marmosets 30 and mice just one
(Dumas). This research shows the reasons hominids increased in brain size is because there was a
mutation that increased the amount of DUF1220 in their lineage which led to gradually larger
brain sizes. Since the Chimps split off (Figure 1) before this mutation their brains did not increase in
size; hence the reason they are still similar to the common ancestor of both chimps and humans.

Biblical Teaching On The Creation Of Man And The Image Of God
Introduction This paper will attempt to demonstrate the following assertions: 1) Mankind is
created in the Image of God, 2) Every human being is created with (and maintains throughout
their life) the dignity, value, and worth that comes from being an image bearer of the Creator
God of the Universe, and 3) God, as the Creator, has sovereign rule over all matters of life and
death. These goals will be accomplished by first examining the Biblical teaching on the creation of
man and woman in the Image of God. After examining some texts, establishing that mankind is
created in God s Image, I will discuss the implication of this assertion: namely, that every humanlife
is sacred. Finally, I will look at how God s sovereigntyshould inform our... Show more content on

Genesis 5:1 again tells us that man was made in the likeness of God, but it teaches us something
else as well. The same word for Hebrew word for likeness (demuth) is used to describe the birth of
Seth, a son in Adam s own likeness. So, not only were Adam and Evemade in the image of God,
their offspring were likewise made in the image of God. Our third passage shows us that this
truth has carried on throughout the generations. Genesis 9:6 tells: Whoever sheds the blood of
man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image. One of the most
important aspects of these last two passages is that they come after the Fall. There is no indication
that the Image of God has been removed from humanity as a result of their rebellion against God.
Human DignityKnowing that mankind is created in the Image of God has implications for how
we should view all human beings. As we read in Genesis 9:6 (listed above), we see the God
ordained penalty for taking a human life. This strict punishment for the taking of human life is
rooted in our creation by God in His own image. The Sixth Commandment emphasizes and
clarifies the warning in Genesis 9:6, as God commands His people, You shall not murder (Exodus
20:13). The taking of innocent human life is explicitly forbidden by God, because all human
beings have intrinsic value by virtue of our creation in God s Image. There is no corresponding

The Most Traditional Side of Firearm Usage in America
For generations and generations guns have been the icon of america. Guns can protect you from
criminals and dangerous situations. They surround us everyday, whether it be law enforcement
personnel, in movies, or advertisements. Guns can not only be used to protect the individual but
also the population from a tyrannical government, which is exactly why the founding fathers were
so intent on making guns the forefront of what america is all about. The down side to having guns
so relevant in society is the fact that often it can fall into the wrong hands.
The vast majority of american households have at least one fire arm in the house. This is mostly
because there is more of a comfort that people feel when they believe they could fend of a possible
intruder or attacker. Those that do not have firearms trust that the police will take care of whatever
situation might present itself. The average response time for the police is on average roughly
10 15 minutes. The average response time for a .357 magnum is 1300 feet per second. So using
a .357 to shoot a target standing 1ft away is 900 times faster than waiting 15 minutes for a police
officer. Many people have perished waiting for police while their home has been burglarized. With
some sort of firearm in the house that burglar could have easily been eliminated. if those
individuals would have had a firearm in their possession chances are they would still be living.

The New World Of Death
I lie against the decrepit, rickety floorboards of our ship. I lie barely awake. The profuse
thoughts that previously encircled me brought a weariness upon me. Bound by a profusion of
apprehension and pity, all my comrades and I set out on this day for our homeland. I do not
perceive Ithaca as being far away physically, albeit the mental endeavour seems as if it will carry
into eternity, or until the end of the world. As if it cannot exist anymore, and reality becomes
only a speck in a vast world of death. As if a whirlpool of thought, emotion, and sound are
suddenly whisked away into a small funnel and absorbed elsewhere. A concept I can imagine, yes,

As I forged on to exit the ship, I felt a warm presence behind me. Hermes swiftly. Hermes wore a
glistening white cloak and held a shimmering, golden staff. My crew mates left the ship and trudged
through the remaining, shallow sea, which was not a substantial amount.
Odysseus, son of Laertes, o Master Mariner, almighty warrior and expert captain, I come to
inform thee of this island you are about to ponder upon. On this island of Agapios lies a truly
petrifying beast, one known as Karibrion. Winged and a flying master, it can also stand on the
earth we stand on. Though it may seem friendly upon your first encounter, do not befriend it.
You will only meet one, and there is a catch associated with this: the one you meet will give you
food but eat seven of your men, or you can leave the island and search elsewhere in hopes of
survival. Be careful, because they move so quickly, you may not notice at first that your men are
missing. Their trickery is nothing to be tested. If it were me, I would stay here. It is the lesser of
two evils.
I did not have the time to thank the delicate, yet tricky soul of Hermes as he vanished away into
the air. I could only imagine that one, likely the one recommended for me, was the lesser of two
evils. Nevertheless, my crew, in front of me, waded through the little amount of water we had yet
to maneuver about and washed up ashore. I followed ponderously in travail.

Essay on Cause of Napoleon Bonaparte s Death
A. Plan of Investigation
Napoleon s death has been attributed to many causes: stomach cancer, arsenic poisoning, improper
medical treatment, hepatitis, and St. Helena s climate. The purpose is to ascertain the likeliest
cause, and if foul play was involved. With each possible cause, there are different implications, i.e.,
cancer frees everyone from blame, hepatitis incriminates the British, improper medical treatment the
doctors, and poisoning implicates the suspected poisoner. The focus is on four causes cancer,
poisoning, improper treatment, and hepatitis common explanations for Napoleon s failing health,
and evidence that supports or refutes each case.

Napoleon constantly drank orgeat, continued to evacuate substances, but was no longer conscious

Theme Of Power In Dracula
First of all, before analysing the theme, it is necessary to clarify the notion of dynamic of power .
In fact, this denotes the dialectic interaction between the subject possessing the power and the
object which is influenced by this power. In literature, this liaison is expressed by the relations
between a master and a slave. For instance, the Russian writers Dostoevsky and Tolstoy explored
the theme of the relations between a master and a slave, an oppressor and an oppressed in their
works. Since this theme has stirred the imagination of many writers, it is not surprising that the
possibility to expose this type of relations has attracted the filmmakers for the decades.
It is important to point out that such creative movement as German Expressionism ... Show more

Dracula in this film refers more to the Sympathetic Cycle (1987 present) by the classification of
Tim Kane. The films of this cycle show the vampire with more sympathetic qualities, with
thoughts, feelings, fears, and dreams. The sympathetic vampires of the recent films have
developed into misunderstood, tortured romantic figures or even ultimate romantic alpha hero.
Coppola s Dracula seems to be on the border of the Erotic and Sympathetic cycles. Seduction and
allure are still inherent to him, as well as his victims are ready to sacrifice, expecting
gratification from the master. The scenes of bite do not have sexual hints, they speak directly of
sex. For example, this is the scene when Jonathan is attacked by the Dracula s brides, who lick
and kiss him before biting, and the victim endures pain, fear and sensual pleasure. When Dracula,
transformed into a wolf, attacks Lucy, he physically copulates with her. And again, we see that
these relations develop with the consent of the victim as the attack arouses Lucy, and she
anticipates the vampire s visits. So, overall, each participant of the vampire victim s relationship is
not equal. One is superior (stronger, with a hypnotic stare and other super abilities, moreover, he is
immortal) and another is subordinate (just a human being, fragile and helpless). Nevertheless, this
inequality, the power, that a vampire, a master possesses and victim s eagerness to obey make these
relations tempting for

Populism In Latin America
Introduction.
In any social science, it is hard to find a concept that has a single, universally accepted definition.
Any scholar has a vision of what characteristics are inherent to this or that phenomenon. The
concept of populism is not an exception. It is one of the most difficult in this respect, as many
researchers at different times have used this term to refer to different phenomena: starting from the
style of speech and ending with a certain stage of development in the process of modernization of
the state.
In my paper, the concept of populism is defined by Kurt Weyland as a specific political strategy
when the charismatic leader is directly appealing to the masses, populism is best defined as a
political strategy through which a personalistic leader seeks or exercises government power based
on direct, unmediated, uninstitutionalized support from large numbers of mostly unorganized
followers . The concept of populism as a political strategy is usually used in relation to Latin
America. This continent has a long history of populism, beginning with the 1930s 1960s, when the
first wave of populist regimes was formed (Lazaro CГЎrdenas in Mexico, Victor Raul Haya de la
Torre in Peru, Getulio Vargas in Brazil and Juan Peron in Argentina). Toward the end of XX
beginning of XXI century the emergence of new radical populist regimes occurred not only in
Latin America but also in Eastern Europe. However, the researchers did not rush to analyze the

through a prism of countless angles, opinions, and stories that will bring the real truth to light.
At the start of the film, they hit the viewer with a gut wrenching situation that begins in 1977,
when a young nurse was working in the obstetrics unit at a major hospital, where she stumbled
upon a LIVE baby, who was placed in a dirty utility room, left to die! What she didn t understand
at the time, was that Roe vs. Wade had just been passed by the U.S. Supreme Court which ruled
in favor of the legalization of abortions. The staff in the facility scolded her as she tried to
explain that a baby was alive and was in need of help after left to die! After hearing the doctors
instructions, she went against their orders and decided to hold the baby in her arms and listen to
his soft whimpers, crying for survival. As she continued to hold the baby, she decided to baptize
him, ultimately saying I name you John, and I will tell the world what I saw here today. I will be
your voice! The film s ultimate purpose is to convince the viewer and bring about the issues
associated with abortion.

Looking For Alibrandi Challenges
Life in general is full of facing challenges. As the saying goes, What doesn t kill you makes you
stronger. So then why do we all, when faced with an unpleasant situation, try to find the easy way
out and not tackle down the obstacles and all the suffering? People stop trying because they
believe that their hardship will never end so they put up with it and suffer more than they have to.
However they don t understand that there really is a light at the end of the tunnel and that you
might be struggling now but it will always be brighter and greater on the other side, you just need
to find your way to it. Our society is always changing. Different generations of people include
having different kinds of life s, which means that these challenges... Show more content on

Descriptive language is been used thoroughly throughout this text and has been able to make a
point of Josephine s life and the challenges that adolesces face throughout their teen years. This
novel was also written in first person form so when you team that up with descriptive language it
allows the reader to understand Josephine s thoughts, feelings and opinions on the issues, which
she faces. Marchetta has done this by using the descriptive language repetitively so the audience
gets a detailed idea on what she is thinking and feeling. If this technique wasn t used us as the
audience wouldn t have gotten to know what she really was feeling and how important it was for
her to overcome the challenges she was faced with for the new phases of her

Short Story On April Fools Day
It was a rainy April 1st when Jess was born. The irony of her being born on April Fools Day was
tremendous. Why? Well, because everyone thought she was just a big old joke. Ever since she
was young her parents never seemed to bother to care about her. One particular time Jess
remembers is when her parents forget to wake her up to go to vacation to the Bahamas! The sad
thing is they, her dad, mom, and sister, still went without her. She had to be babysat by a
random babysitter while her family was out having fun. She never seemed to make any friends,
no matter how hard she tried. Compared to her sister, she was a disappointment. Her sister had
straight A s, played volleyball, ran track, was the homecoming queen and was also the most
popular and the prettiest girl in school. On top of this, she had a major crush on the most popular
boy in the school. She doesn t even understand why she likes him, she just has for the last 5 years
for some reason. I mean Kevin was a shallow and a horrible person. Yet, she liked him and the
reason for that is a mystery. One day, her life completely changed and I mean completely
changed. She was sitting in her room and blasting her music. Her favorite singer was Taylor
Swift and right now she was listening to her new hit. Then suddenly a speckle of something fell
on the tip of her nose. She looked up to see glitter falling from the ceiling! Then, all the sudden a
strange creature appeared. Her name was April, and apparently she was Jess

Soccer Is The World Greatest Sport Essay
Soccer, The World s Greatest Sport Soccer has dated back as far as 2500BC. It remains known as
one of the oldest sports acknowledged to man. There is a great deal to understand about soccer.
For now, let us just stick with the basics. The Chinese were believed to be the first originators of
the game. Furthermore soccer evolved from there. As every other sport, soccer has rules and
regulations that must be followed. The essential objective of soccer is to acquire the ball into
the opposing teams goal. Playing soccer requires only the feet, unless you are the goalie. Using
of the head and chest when the ball is in the air is a useful skill to have. To commence, the ball is
placed in the center of the field. Each team has their own side to play on. However, if a player
crosses the line before the whistle is blown will not be allowed and will result in a redo. The
referee at that point blows the whistle. The game officially begins. Soccer consists of two forty
five minute halves in the game with a fifteen to twenty minute halftime. There are eleven players
on each side of the field. The team consists of the goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders, and strikers.
In the end, whoever scores the greatest amount of goals will be victorious.... Show more content on

Soccer began during the Tsin Dynasty (255 206BC). In China, soccer was entitled something
different, Tsu Chu or kickball as translated. Soldiers competed in a training activity featuring a
leather ball being kicked between two poles. Eventually other countries began to hear about the
game. In modern Europe, soccer began to evolve from the 9th century. Codification of soccer
came from the public schools of Britain at the beginning of the 16th century. As a result, in 1863
soccer officially became a sport with an established set of

Nothing Is So Necessary For A Young Man Essay
In his piece, Nothing Is So Necessary for a Young Man..., Ta Nehisi Coates discusses how much
of a hard time he has reading War And Peace. He dislikes the fact that Tolstoy does not go into
significant depth with the characters or plot line. However, he has an even harder time trying to
understand why most people are fans of it. I think the one thing we should take away from this is
how although some might consider Tolstoy s work as a masterpiece of literature, others might not
like it. With his favorite novels, he states, I read that, and, rightly or wrongly, I heard African
drumming. Yet when he reads Tolstoy, he says he does not hear the same drumming. He wants to
learn why everyone adores this book, rather than condemning it simply because

Quest for Personal Identity in Toni Morrison s the Bluest Eye
Post World War I, many new opportunities were given to the growing and
expanding group of African Americans living in the North. Almost 500,00
African Americans moved to the northern states between 1910 and 1920. This
was the beginning of a continuing migration northward. More than 1,500,000
blacks went north in the 1930 s and 2,500,00 in the 1940 s. Life in the
North was very hard for African Americans. Race riots, limited housing
resulting in slum housing, and restricted job opportunities were only a few
of the many hardships that the African Americanpeople had to face at this
time. Families often had to separate, social agencies were overcrowded with
people that all needed help, crime rates increased and many other ... Show more content on

`Crazy foo...my floor,
mess ...look what you...get on out...crazy...crazy...my floor , my floor....
Her words were hotter and darker than the smoking berries. The little [white]
girl in pink started to cry. Mrs. Breedlove turned to her. `Hush, baby, hush.
Don t cry no more (Morrison 109). Her mother viewed Pecola as an obstacle
that had the potential to get in the way of her white charge s happiness and
consequently her happiness. Her mother refused to show any love to Pecola
because it might interfere with more important things. For a little girl, the
love of her mother is the most important love she can receive. Without that,
how can she think that she is worth anything at all?
Finally the rape by her father is the last evidence Pecola needs to believe
completely that she is an ugly unlovable girl. While in most cases a father
figure is one who little girls look to for guidance and approval, Cholly is
the exact opposite. He hurts Pecola in a physical way that in one attempt
measures up to the years of hurtful mockery. He took away from her the one
thing that was utterly and completely hers. After the rape, Pecola was never
even remotely the same:
She was so sad to see. Grown people looked away; children, those who were not
frightened by her, laughed outright. The damage done was total. She spent
her days, walking up and down her head jerking to the beat of a drummer so
distant only she could hear.

This museum anthem manifesto in conjunction with the print focused the territory on innovation. The area was seen as different from other healthcare network advertising because it took the point of view of the organization versus the patient perspective. DuBois, in The Souls of Black Folk describes the very poignant image of a veil between the blacks and the whites in his society. He constructs the concept of a double consciousness, wherein a black person has two identities as two completely separate individuals, in order to demonstrate the fallacy of these opinions. J.S. Mill also describes a certain fallacy in his own freedom of thought, a general conception of individuals that allows them to accept something similar to DuBois double consciousness and perpetuates the existence of the veil. As DuBois looks through the veil, he can see a world that he loves, but cannot belong to because it belongs to the whites. The veil perpetuates the concept of alienation from the world to which he knows he will never belong. From the other side, whites look through at blacks, and construct their own opinions of the opposing race, and in doing so, create an opinion that is accepted by blacks themselves. The distortion created by the veil muddles the world of the whites and also the self knowledge within each individual on the black side of the veil. This sort of idea is the same thing that Mill critiques in the early parts of On Liberty. Mill discusses that few think it necessary to take any precautions against their own fallibility, or admit the supposition that any opinion, of which they feel very certain, may be one of the examples of error to which they acknowledge themselves to be liable. (Mill 615). Herein lies the problem of the whites, as over time they have come to accept their own ideas of the blacks in the United States without accepting the possibility of their own fallibility. Mill would argue that dissenting voices need to be heard in order to bring forth the right opinions, but with the veil the DuBois discusses, this is an impossibility. Mill discusses the infallibility of the the world in general (Mill 615) that is accepted by individuals living in a particular place. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Environmental Challenges Facing The American Auto Industry Written Assignment Unit 5 Environmental challenges facing the American auto industry The American auto industry has been in existence since 1896 when Henry Ford built his first car. He then invented the assembly line which allowed for the production of multiple cars, and this made the price of cars more affordable to buyers. By the 1920s, the assembly line concept of production was used by the largest auto companies in the United States, namely Ford, General Motors and Chrysler. The auto industry has always been faced with environmental and hazardous issues. Such issues include global competition, new technology for powering the product that this industry produces, and the effect of emissions on the environment. Global competition In 1995, a trade agreement was made between the United States and Japan. Because of this agreement, Japanese cars became more readily available in the USA, directly competing with American brands such as Ford, Chrysler, and General Motors. Additionally, Japanese dealer outlets established a recognizable presence in the USA, making replacement parts easily available. This helped to increase competition since it provided an incentive for Americans to purchase Japanese cars. Moreover, even in other markets, American car companies failed to maintain their previously strong position as countries such as India, China, and South Korea were also into the manufacturing of automobiles. However, in general, the trend is towards autocracy. There are a few reasons for this. The first is that the importance of the Boyars is often overstated in relation to the political power of the Tsar. In the culture of Russia at the time the best way to build a reputation was to be a pious Orthodox man. The Tsar was not only deeply entwined with the practice and leadership of the Orthodox Church in Russia; he also embodied its social and political influence. The Tsar was able to claim that his right to rule was divine because the church was both influential and in favor of a strong ruler who professed the Orthodox Faith. While there were many different religions present in Russia, it was truly the Orthodox Church that was the most influential and widely accepted in elite circles. The Tsar was able to justify his decisions on a religious basis, which was acceptable to most Russians, without having to have the consensus of the Boyars. We are taught the rules of conduct of society and we learn to follow them in order to be socially normal. The second we are born or even before we are born we are determined a gender. The rest of our life and the way we are expected to act revolves around that gender. Our gender shapes who we are expected to be and shapes an image in our parents head of who they want us to be. Gender plays a key role throughout our life, it is defined as the psychological, social and cultural aspects of masculinity and femininity(butler sweet,c,2017). Masculinity and femininity have been standardized into their own stereotypes. For example, masculine is known as aggression, competitive, brave, etc. While feminine is known as sensitive, weak, nurturing, etc. Because of these traits and these stereotypes masculinity holds a higher power over femininity. Therefore, when the parents have the child and they find out what gender they are they automatically uphold them and raise them according to these standards. This begins to refer to gender socialization which is the process by which we learn the rules and conduct the behavior of masculinity and femininity (butler sweet,c,2017). While in Hinduism, karma is a normal part of their lives and path to God, but in Western culture, karmais normally welcomed when there is revenge to be had or a reward to be received. In some cases it could be both. In Hinduism, karma is basically cause and effect. This idea can sometimes lead other outside the religion and few in to relate it to fatalism, but to Hindus that understand it, it is not like fatalism at all (Huston 65). For them, karma allows for you to make choices freely, but with each choice does come consequences, but not every consequence is bad. It is all choices and consequences are all based of what the soul or jiva wanted(Huston 65). The actions of a jiva, or the choices it makes, will all lead to an eventual life of repetition of wanting more out of life, but if it can see past the game that it is and insteads goes after something infinite and eternal, then will the jiva fill more complete (Huston 66). The capture of Okinawa was part of the plan to win the Far East war. The island of Okinawa is a part of a group of islands at the southern end of Japan. The main focus for the Americans were four airfields that were on the island that they wanted to control. The forces that made up the American landing party were the III Amphibious Corps and XXIV Corps, making the Tenth U.S. Army under the command of Lieutenant General Simon Bolivar Buckner Jr. American forces had not been able to gather very much intelligence about the island which made it difficult to determine how many enemy forces there have been. There were over 130,000 Japanese troops waiting on the island. There were over 450,000 civilians which made operations harder for American forces. • 25. My Personal Educational Philosophy Essay Educational Philosophy Essay My personal educational philosophy is a combination of perennialism and essentialism, which leaves me uniquely well armed to teach my subject of choice: History. History, viewed as a whole, is a monument to the achievements of Man. It is unchanging, though new aspects may be found or brought to light, and it can be viewed from many angles, it is an unchanging truth that what happened, has indeed happened. Through a thorough and guided exploration of this subject, students can learn many of the essential skills they will need to succeed later in life. My desire to teach and the development of my particular philosophycan be relatively easily derived from my own, personal, history. My earliest memorable connection with the subject that defines me came from semi monthly trips to my great grandparents home in Jacksonville, TX. Every trip we would pass a large stone monument to Sam Houston, a man who was essential to the development of the state of Texas. After enough questions about his life my parents took us on a trip to San Antonio, Texas, where the Presidio San Antonio de Bexar sits The Alamo. Here I began to delve into military history, and the complexity of stories being written from both sides of the trenches and firing lines. Reading those stories, and the experiences of the men in them, I realized that they were experiencing feelings similar to ones that regular people experience on a daily basis: anxiety, depression, self doubt, and ... • 28. The chimpanzee became its own species when it separated... The chimpanzee became its own species when it separated from bonobos about 2 to 3 million years ago (Mitchell, and Gonder). According to the article Chimps And Bonobos , this most likely happened because of allopatric speciation which is the separation of a species through physical forces like mountains or rivers that isolate the two groups. The physical force that separated the two species was most likely Zaire River which is also called the Congo River in Sub Sahara Africa. About 2 million years ago there was a drought south of the river and drove the gorillas that were living the area north. Without an apex predator in the area the common ancestor of the two animals crossed the river and became isolated from their relative the bonobo.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Chimpanzee, an example of a homologous structure it shares with its descendants is its relatively large skull. As the animals became more evolved their skull shapes started to change to accommodate for a larger brain. This size difference is shown in Figure 2 because you can see the difference in the brain and skull size of the chimpanzees (bottom) and humans (top) (Chimpanzee). This is because Cranium size is determined by brain size and recent evidence by (Dumas, 2012) shows that this is likely determine by a protein domain called DUF1220. DUF1220 is a domain, a sub section of a gene, which is about 65 amino acids long and expressed mostly in neurons (DUF1220). Research (Dumas, 2012) shows that more copies present in the genome the larger the brain size is in that animal. Humans have 270 copies and the trend goes down from there with Chimps having 125, Gorillas 99 and marmosets 30 and mice just one (Dumas). This research shows the reasons hominids increased in brain size is because there was a mutation that increased the amount of DUF1220 in their lineage which led to gradually larger brain sizes. Since the Chimps split off (Figure 1) before this mutation their brains did not increase in size; hence the reason they are still similar to the common ancestor of both chimps and humans. These goals will be accomplished by first examining the Biblical teaching on the creation of man and woman in the Image of God. Genesis 5:1 again tells us that man was made in the likeness of God, but it teaches us something else as well. The same word for Hebrew word for likeness (demuth) is used to describe the birth of Seth, a son in Adam s own likeness. So, not only were Adam and Evemade in the image of God, their offspring were likewise made in the image of God. Our third passage shows us that this truth has carried on throughout the generations. Genesis 9:6 tells: Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image. One of the most important aspects of these last two passages is that they come after the Fall. There is no indication that the Image of God has been removed from humanity as a result of their rebellion against God. Human DignityKnowing that mankind is created in the Image of God has implications for how we should view all human beings. As we read in Genesis 9:6 (listed above), we see the God ordained penalty for taking a human life. This strict punishment for the taking of human life is rooted in our creation by God in His own image. The Sixth Commandment emphasizes and clarifies the warning in Genesis 9:6, as God commands His people, You shall not murder (Exodus 20:13). They surround us everyday, whether it be law enforcement personnel, in movies, or advertisements. Guns can not only be used to protect the individual but also the population from a tyrannical government, which is exactly why the founding fathers were so intent on making guns the forefront of what america is all about. The down side to having guns so relevant in society is the fact that often it can fall into the wrong hands. The vast majority of american households have at least one fire arm in the house. This is mostly because there is more of a comfort that people feel when they believe they could fend of a possible intruder or attacker. Those that do not have firearms trust that the police will take care of whatever situation might present itself. The average response time for the police is on average roughly 10 15 minutes. The average response time for a .357 magnum is 1300 feet per second. So using a .357 to shoot a target standing 1ft away is 900 times faster than waiting 15 minutes for a police officer. Many people have perished waiting for police while their home has been burglarized. In fact, this denotes the dialectic interaction between the subject possessing the power and the object which is influenced by this power. In literature, this liaison is expressed by the relations between a master and a slave. For instance, the Russian writers Dostoevsky and Tolstoy explored the theme of the relations between a master and a slave, an oppressor and an oppressed in their works. Since this theme has stirred the imagination of many writers, it is not surprising that the possibility to expose this type of relations has attracted the filmmakers for the decades. Dracula in this film refers more to the Sympathetic Cycle (1987 present) by the classification of Tim Kane. The films of this cycle show the vampire with more sympathetic qualities, with thoughts, feelings, fears, and dreams. The sympathetic vampires of the recent films have developed into misunderstood, tortured romantic figures or even ultimate romantic alpha hero. Coppola s Dracula seems to be on the border of the Erotic and Sympathetic cycles. Seduction and allure are still inherent to him, as well as his victims are ready to sacrifice, expecting gratification from the master. The scenes of bite do not have sexual hints, they speak directly of sex. For example, this is the scene when Jonathan is attacked by the Dracula s brides, who lick and kiss him before biting, and the victim endures pain, fear and sensual pleasure. When Dracula, transformed into a wolf, attacks Lucy, he physically copulates with her. And again, we see that these relations develop with the consent of the victim as the attack arouses Lucy, and she anticipates the vampire s visits. So, overall, each participant of the vampire victim s relationship is not equal. One is superior (stronger, with a hypnotic stare and other super abilities, moreover, he is immortal) and another is subordinate (just a human being, fragile and helpless). • 36. Populism In Latin America Introduction. In any social science, it is hard to find a concept that has a single, universally accepted definition. Any scholar has a vision of what characteristics are inherent to this or that phenomenon. The concept of populism is not an exception. It is one of the most difficult in this respect, as many researchers at different times have used this term to refer to different phenomena: starting from the style of speech and ending with a certain stage of development in the process of modernization of the state. In my paper, the concept of populism is defined by Kurt Weyland as a specific political strategy when the charismatic leader is directly appealing to the masses, populism is best defined as a political strategy through which a personalistic leader seeks or exercises government power based on direct, unmediated, uninstitutionalized support from large numbers of mostly unorganized followers . The concept of populism as a political strategy is usually used in relation to Latin America. This continent has a long history of populism, beginning with the 1930s 1960s, when the first wave of populist regimes was formed (Lazaro CГЎrdenas in Mexico, Victor Raul Haya de la Torre in Peru, Getulio Vargas in Brazil and Juan Peron in Argentina).
