My Special Place Analysis
As I wandered the wide forest surrounding the kingdom I couldn t help but feel a sense of
longing. I always felt that way when I was in a place like this. It was enchanting, comforting, and
it was easy to lose yourself for hours in it. It was the only place wher I could really think. The
rest of the time I am being bombarded with lessons, lectures, and all sorts of other
responsibilities. I was the princess of the kingdom, and I had to be watched and told what too do
and how to do it, every. Single. Day. It wasn t that I didn t enjoy my lessons, I love learning the
history of the world, but evryone needs time to be free, and I didn t get that nearly as often as I
needed it. In addition to learning about the world I lived in I also had to learn about my kingdom.
However, I don t know why I needed to because...it waasn t my kingdom.... Show more content on

were just going to kill me right then and there because the elves and the humans did not have much
peace between their races. They did not trust one another. In fact not many races had much peace
between the others, and that was because of a war that tore the world apart. It was called the Black

Negligence, Psychiatric Loss, Economical Loss Occupiers...
In this leaflet I will describe the law of negligence and occupier s liability, economic loss and
psychiatric loss.
Negligence is when somebody has a duty of care and that duty is breached. Negligence is split into
3 parts.
Duty of Care
In certain situations, a duty of care is owed to another person. For example, a surgeon owes a duty
of care to whoever they operate on. The existence of a duty of care is established by the Neighbour
Test which was brought in by Lord Aitken after the Donoghue v Stevensoncase;
In the Donoghue v Stevenson case, Ms Donoghue was bought a ginger beer by a friend, and drank
it, unknown to her, there was a snail in that ginger beer. She wanted to claim for damages but she

Social value of the defendants action is took into consideration in certain cases. If the purpose of
the actions took by the defendant is of value to society, abnormal risk is justified. In Watt vs
Hertfordshire 1954, a victim was trapped under a vehicle at the scene of a road accident, A heavy
duty jack was needed to lift the vehicle but the vehicle used to transport it was unavailable. Whilst
holding the jack on place on a vehicle unsuitable for the transportation, a fireman injured his back.
The fireman sued his employers for negligence but failed in his actions because the social values
of the defendants action were valuable as lives were at risk. Last of all, Cost of avoiding harm
needs to be taken into account. The argument that a danger was too costly to eliminate is not a
legitimate argument. However courts do recognise a balance between the risk and the cost of
eliminating it. If the risk is remote and the precautions needed to be taken are very expensive, the
defendants lack of action by not doing anything may be justified. The greater the risk is and the
more likely it is, the consideration is given towards the cost of the eliminating measures which the
defendants may have taken to safeguard. The decision in these circumstances relies on whether the
courts decide that the defendants had acted reasonable in the given

Pebble Day Narrative
Pebble had just arrived at her grandmother Boulder s house who was seated in her rock ing chair.
Pebble had always wondered how her grandmother had ended up as an Igneous rock and decided
that today she would ask. Grandmother, how is it you became a igneous rock?
Oh, twas a long long long time ago. One billion years, I believe, when I underwent my first
change that lead me to what I am today. she reminisced with a faraway look in her eye.
Wow one billion! You sure are old grandma. Pebble blurted.
Hmph, kids these days have no respect for their elder, Grandmother scolded, eyeing her
granddaughter. Tell me, is it that rowdy rockmusic that influenced your rude behavior? When I

Years later, I was at an amusement park on a school field trip on one of the hottest days of the
year. In fact, it was so hot that I guess a lot of rocks had the same idea. It was so crowded that I
could barely roll a centimeter. At that moment, I realized that I had gotten separated from my
class! I hurried to look around, but I could barely move past the packed crowd of rocks in front
of the most popular ride. Stones pushed and pressed against one another trying to get on the ride.
I soon forgot about my class and pressed against the crowd in my effort to get in line. I waited in
the packed crowd in an unbearable heat for thousands of years. By the time it was my turn, I had
become a Metamorphic rock to my surprise.
If you became a Metamorphic rock again, then how are you an Igneous right now? asked Pebble.
Well I have changed hundreds of times over the years, it s called the rock cycle. This is just my
current form but it can change when you least expect it.
Do you think I m going to change too!? demanded Pebble.
Of course you will, it all depends on the conditions you re under. replied grandma

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Decision Support System
After knowing the benefit and limitation of Decision Support System (DSS), we should consider
the following points before creation of successful DSS. Even the existing system, which are away
from these point, can consider the same for future enhancement. Below are most important factors
to bring success to DSS while using
1. Timely execution We need to spend sizeable amount in planning before the execution, proper
focus should be given on each point. System developer should spend good amount in analysing the
existing resource and future requirement. Development should be not for today, I should earmark
space and other resource keeping in mind future. Speed in not always beneficial, go step by step.

Irrigation system Management DSS play and important role in the Irrigation industry, as there are
various benefit available of DSS it includes water management by way of saving and optimal
utilisation. DSS will support in water resource planning and scheduling, all farmer need water for
harvesting even the exploring of water resources is also key for irrigation. Whole harvesting
based on availability of water. DSS was developed with the objective to solve the water crises issue
including delivery
The success of DSS depend on unstopped or continued water supply with equitable distribution of

Diego Velázquez – Las Meninas (1656-57)
Introduction
Las Meninas was VelГЎzquez s largest oeuvre measuring 3.21 m by 2.81 m (Umberger 96).
VelГЎzquez s masterpiece is one that draws sharp criticism ranging from those who find this work
as a complete piece with its pictorial features prominent in the artwork, to those who find it hard to
interpret its content conclusively (Ancell 159 160; Snyder 542+; Steinberg 48; Bongiorni 88).
Despite such disparities, VelГЎzquez s masterpiece was able to project a day in the life of the royal
family while at the same time achieving his artistic ideal. This work explores this artwork in light
of the royal family and personal gratification by VelГЎzquez as a celebrated artist.

The first maid of honor is Don МЂa MarГa Augustustina Sarmiento. MarГa offers Margarita a
drink while kneeling down as a sign of her paying homage to the position Margarita holds in the
royal family. The second maid of honor is Don МЂa Isabel de Velasco stands inclined towards the
princess. Isabel s glare is towards the same direction Margarita is facing yet Isabel s face is not
affixed to the viewer s point of view but rather facing down. This captures her as a servant rather
than a member of the royal family.
Another interesting perspective captured in the painting is facial elevation and position. The
meninas heads are at different elevations to that of Margarita. Their attention is towards Margarita
yet their perspectives are different. MarГa s eye view is higher than Margarita s eye view yet the
painter makes it appear as if MarГa s eyes are looking up on Margarita. Moreover, Isabel s elevation
appears to pay homage to Margarita by her angle of inclination, eye direction and facial expression. .
On the foreground, the painting captures two dwarfs. The adult dwarf is MaribГЎrbola while the
midget is the daughter NicolГЎs Pertusato (Umberger 97). NicolГЎs has her foot on the back of the
dog, which appears unperturbed despite the presence of human foot on its back. This calmness
shows a well trained dog of the royal family whose presence is calming. The dog appears to be
trained to be a child s pet or companion hence it calmness despite

Factors That Determine the Currency Exchange Rates
Factors that Determine the Currency Exchange Rates
Exchange rate is often referred to as the nominal exchange rate. It is defined as the rate at which
one currency can be converted, or exchanged , into another currency. For example, the pound is
currently worth about 1.824 US dollars. One pound can be converted into 1.824 dollars. This is the
exchange rate between the pound and the dollar. There are four types of currencies can be
operated, which are a floating, managed and fixed exchange rate.
Lots of developed industrial nations like US ($), UK (???) and Japan (??¥) operate floating
exchange rates. A floating exchange rate is known as freely floating and should be self regulating.
It is often determined by the market ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With a fixed exchange system, a country may face a persistent surplus or deficit. To deal with a
persistent surplus, government can increase home demand in order to encourage import, or raise
home price to make export less competitive. To deal with a persistent deficit, government can
reduce the home demand or decrease home price to make export more competitive. If both of
measures inefficient, the only way of influence the exchange rate is to change the exchange rate. If
countries with surpluses move their value of exchange rates higher, it will be revalue, if countries
with deficit decrease their value of exchange rate, it will be devaluation. And usually, exports are
dearer in the condition of devaluation.
If a government is confident that a floating exchange rate system can keep a balance of payments
in balance. Then it will not hold reserves of foreign currency.
The market demand and supply for currency are the most significant determinant for influencing
the exchange rate in a floated exchange rate system. If there is an increase in demanding pounds,
the equilibrium price is likely to change. For example, as it illustrated in figure 1.4(A) (B), if an
American buys a British Rover, there will be an increase in the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Composites
1 CHAPTER. 1 COMPOSITES 1.1 Introduction A composite is when two or more different
materials are combined together to create a material which is superior and unique and holding
different properties than earlier. Light weight high strength materials are essential in fabrication of
aerospace structures like airframes, rocket motor casings, nozzles and wings. The composites are
the materials formed by embedding fibers in the plastic that add characteristics like high resistance
to fatigue, anticorrosive, high tensile strength or stiffness with weight savings up to 25 45%
compare with conventional metallic designs. Composites possess greater reliability, which are
capable to meet the design requirements, easier to achieve smooth aerodynamic profiles against
drag reduction and high resistance to impact damage. The capacity to tailor the fundamental
material properties of a cover has permitted new ways to deal with the plan of air flexible flight
structures. The above preferences make an interpretation of into aero plane as well as into the
rocket frameworks that can go with high speed under extreme warm condition amid reentry period

Epoxies are widely used in primary construction composite materials for high strength performance,
adhesives, casting compounds, sealants, varnishes and paints as well as laminating resins. Epoxies
generally have higher values of fracture toughness than polyesters and vinyl esters which may result
in superior fatigue performance of the laminates. There are two types of epoxies one with

Kroger Fixed Cost
Fixed and Variable Costs Company s fixed and variable cost can affect the level of competition
in this industry. Companies have high fixed costs and variable costs in the market, they will try
to cut prices to increase demand in their stores in operation. In the grocery retail industry in the
US market, the majority of grocery retailers have and operate their own stores and distribution
center, and these increase Kroger s fixed cost because of overhead and maintenance cost. Even if
the fixed cost is high, the variable cost of goods sold which is the second highest cost can offset
it. The ratio of fixed assets and variable costs is very crucial for a company within the industry.

Kroger competes with its rivals by having good product quality, product variety, and customer
services. Kroger insisted that product quality is crucial in building consumer loyalty and brand
image. Great companies do not just get new customers, they want customers come back for
more. Customer loyalty brings long term sales, and Kroger did a very good job on this. Kroger
s outstanding private brand products had earned the market share. Consumer research, the finest
ingredients, and our rigorous testing produce the quality behind our corporate brand (Kroger,

The film 12 Angry Men opens up the scene of twelve jurors in a court case where a young boy
was accused of murdering his father. The jurors move to an empty conference room in order to
discuss the boys trial and contemplate the trial. With a show of hands, eleven out of the twelve
claim that the boy is guilty without looking deeply analyzing the case. Only one juror, juror 9, who
was an architect, had reasonable doubt that the boy could actually be innocent. Throughout the film,
juror 9 must convince the other eleven jurors that the boy is actually innocent, starting a debate
between the jurors. The purpose of this argument reveals that despite the fact that juror 9 was out

The Impact of Chinese Culture on Its Asian Neighbors
The impact of Chinese culture on its Asian neighbors
China is today the third largest economy of the globe, with immense prospects for growth. This
position grants the country a vast power within the global arena. Still, aside from its current
economic strength, China is notable at the level of its cultural importance. In this setting, the
Chinese culture is significant not only at its individual level, but also at the level of the influences it
has manifested upon its neighboring countries at political, historical or cultural stances (McKay,
Hill, Buckler, Ebrey and Beck, 2006).
At a general level, the cultural impacts of China on the Asian states have manifested in a positive
manner and they have been linked with the rapid and responsible evolution of the country. This in
turn has materialized in opportunities for the neighboring countries as well. A most important
aspect is revealed at the level of community building, as the community is perceived as a pivotal
social structure in China. This perception has led to the responsible growth and development of
communities in other Asian states.
In the future, the influence of China is expected to further increase, with caution needing to be
exercised at the level of the reaction of the Chinese population towards the intensifying relationships
between their country and its neighbors (Xiaoming, 2006).
A more specific impact of the Chinese culture is revealed at the level of Japan, which has adopted
several traits and has

Augustus, during his reign as emperor proved effective in ruling through the ideas he implemented
to solidify his country. Tacitus stated nullo adversante which translates into English Wholly
unopposed (http://janusquirinus.org/Quotes/QuotesHome.html) this identifies the effectiveness of
his reign and the strength he had politically over Rome. Important actions such as the creation of
religious and moral reforms, the constitutional agreement and the implementation of the building
programme all succeeded in creating stability within the Roman Empire.

reinforcing the feelings of stability that the Augustus wanted his people to encompass. The use of
propaganda was also in an attempt to bolster his power. The reconstruction of the city involved
creating essential services such as roads and aqueducts and also glorified Augustus and set in stone
his achievements.
The constitutional environment that Augustus created was made slowly overtime to ensure that
the Roman people were not shocked by any major changes. Within the new constitution agreement
was the variation on traditional parts that Rome had previously been identified with. He refined
and downgraded the role of the Senate, yet did not abolish it completely in order to keep the
Romans contented. The constitutional environment was another effective action taken by Augustus
as it created power solely for the leader of Rome, which was himself and meant that no one could
challenge him for his position, it also sought to give legitimacy to

Americans living in the British colonies didn t feel like living in liberty being under the tyranny of
King George III. Their happiness (the one they once thought they d find leaving the Old World) was
far from being achieved under so many taxes. Jefferson defended the idea that these rights must be
secured by governments instituted by men, and that when these governments become destructive of
these rights, the people have the right to abolish those institutions and to create new ones in order
to secure their principles. Further in this same long second paragraph, Jefferson accuses King
George III (he doesn t name him directly, but it is obvious that he makes him responsible because
King George III was the person holding the highest position in the British Government at that
moment) of despotism, and of having established a tyranny over the States. Thomas Jefferson
enumerates a series of facts to prove the right to dissolve the political bands with the mother
country. Summing up some of the next paragraphs Jefferson refers to the lack of Colonial
representation in the governing British Parliament, and many colonists considered some of the laws
of the British Government to be illegitimate and a violation of their rights as Englishmen, due to the
fact that the British Crown adopted the policy that the colonies should pay an increased proportion

Safeguarding in Health and Social Care Essay
Safeguarding in Health and Social Care Under the Health and Social Care Act (2008), abuse is
defined as: Single or repeated act or lack of appropriate action occurring within any relationship
where there is an expectation of trust which causes harm or distress including physical,
emotional, verbal, financial, sexual, racial abuse, neglect and abuse through misapplication of
drugs. Abuse can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. However, it is so alarming that more
and more elderly people suffer from abuse everyday. Many elderly adults are being abused in

This service user must also not be discriminated in spite of the condition. she has rights and
deserves some respect and humane treatment. Article 14 of Human Rights Act of 2008 states
that everyone has the right to be treated fairly regardless of gender, race, religion, sex, age,
political views, disability or anything else (Ministry of Justice, 2008). But if the care provider
doesn t know how to respect these rights, then he/she is likely to abuse the client. 1.2There are
other risk factors that may lead to incidence of abuse or harm to self and others. Lack of
appropriate training and supervision can put not only the client at risk for physical injury but
the carer as well. As for Mrs. M, she needs careful moving and handling method and appropriate
equipment to avoid non accidental use of force in turning her. Moreover, lack of staffs and poor
working conditions can put the carer and client at risk for abuse as well. Mrs. M being attended
by only one carer is not a good practice and must not accepted in the home and tolerated by the
service user. This is always the norm in most care home who do not have enough resources
especially staff due to lack of funds of qualified staff . Assessing and reviewing the risk involved
in moving and handling the service user it is recommended that the service user will need two
staffs to assist her in feeding and moving, otherwise she will be left hurting and bruised from rough
handling and risk of fall.

Summary Of How Immigrants Changed America
America is filled with diverse people, citizens and immigrants. It s a country that has welcomed
many cultures, languages, and people from different parts of the world. Immigrants are the reasons
why America is changing into a colorful country and it wouldn t be known for it s importance
known today. Significant changes that occur when immigrants come to America are new cultures,
changes in the economy, and changes towards visas and green cards.
Immigrants changed America by bringing in new cultures. In Vincent J. Cannato s article, How
Americans Became Italian, it explains how America gained many things from the Italian culture,
such as food, music, and films. Vincent J. Cannato states, The Italian American experience reminds
us that immigration is a process of transformation for the individuals and for American society. That
bilateral cultural evolution will continue to mold who we are as a nation, (Cannato). Like Italians,
many other countries are shaping America with all the different cultures. Today, Americans
combine varying cultures into their lives.
Next, immigrants changed the economy. In the article, Why American Cities Are Fighting to

African American Music Culture
African American Music Culture Jakiella James African American gospel music is a major
influence in nearly all genres of modern popular music, from rhythm n blues to jazz, from soul to
rock n roll. The musical genre is a unique expression of the black experience in America? The
emotionally charged, wailing vocals and syncopated rhythms give the music a distinctive style. The
singing is accompanied not only by instrumentals, but often also by hand clapping, foot stomping
and shouting. Gospel music is rooted in slave spirituals and protestant hymns. During the late
1800s, the music spread in popularity among white Christians through the traveling revivals led by
Evangelist Dwight Moody. The music took root in the black... Show more content on

As in traditional African cultures and as the ancestors that endured slavery had done, African
Americans used music to communicate, synchronize, summon courage and assuage pain and
adversity. That uniquely African style of singing with emotion, power and rhythm was evident
through the field hollerers, work songs, spirituals, gospels and blues. Then the rhythm and blues
artists and the soul artists provided a rich resource for the succeeding style of music called funk .
And these artists drove it home to an ever widening audience. This was also the time when other
artists were delivering songs with philosophical and social messages. The emphasis of this paper
will be on the music called funk and its impact on the American culture. Students will be engaged
in actively listening to and discussing a variety of artists to evaluate their effect on the music s
direction, impact and audience. At the turn of the nineteenth century, jazz was making its entrance
and establishing itself as the music of the future with icons such as Buck Clayton, Sidney Bichet,
Louis Armstrong, Lil Hardin, King Joe Oliver and Jelly Roll Morton. They were followed by
Scott Joplin, Fletcher Henderson, Noble Sissle, Louis Jordan, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and
others. While jazz was riding a crest, there was another style of African American music with a

External Environment Of The Brewing Industry
Introduction
This report will examine the external environment of the brewing industry using a PESTEL
analysis and the internal capabilities of ABInBev using a value chain analysis in order to determine
how the firm appears to compete. Following this, strategies for improving the competitive position
of the company will be outlined.
ABInBev is a multinational beverage and brewing company based in Belgium. It is the largest
brewer in the world with a 20.8% market share (Statista, 2016) and is also one of the world s top
five consumer goods companies.
Figure 1: Market share by volume (Statista, 2016)
The brewing industry is interesting to examine due to its relatively unique structure. Up until
November 2015, the market was dominated by four main players, known informally as the Big
Four . AB InBev was the largest, followed by SABMiller, Heineken and Carlsberg. In November
2015, however, ABInBev and SABMiller agreed a formal $107 billion takeover deal, combining
the brewers into a company which industry experts claim would control around half of the
industry s profits (Mickle, 2015). As a result of the sheer size and complexity of the merger, it is
anticipated that the deal will not be finalised until the second half of 2016 as ABInBev must
negotiate with anti trust regulators around the world with respect to their potential monopolistic
position. As the deal is yet to be completed, this report will analyse ABInBev independent of
SABMiller.

Susquehanna River Essay
The health of the Susquehanna River and Chesapeake Bay was found based on Biological
(macroinvertebrates and wildlife) and Chemicals characteristics (pH, dissolved oxygen, phosphates,
nitrates, etc.) as well as physical observations (amount of forested buffers, wetlands, etc.) Overall it
was concluded that the health of the water was good to excellent. What was found was that many
of the macroinvertebrates found in the water were sensitive or facultative, meaning the water
quality was good enough for them to live in. Also, the level of ph, temperature, dissolved oxygen,
phosphates, nitrates, and turbidityshowed that the water quality was good. Finally, while we were

Underwater grasses, or Elodea, was observed as well. This wide variety of life is a good indicator
of the water s health.
The chemical characteristics observed and documented were pH, temperature, phosphate, nitrate,
turbidity, and dissolved oxygen. Each of these chemical levels were documented and found
differently. Most were found using a kit or a device. The numbers found, would tell us how
polluted the stream was and how much nutrients were in the water. Each chemical has a scale for
telling what a good level is and what a bad level is. If an excess amount of nutrients was found in
the water, algae could be formed. When algae is formed it blocks sunlight from shining into the
water, which creates dead zones. This is called eutrophication. A dead zone is an area where there is
no life. This can cause major problems like population issues and more. If the algae continues to
grow in the river, the whole body of water can die out, and people as well as other organisms are
very dependent on the Susquehanna. While on the river though, there was an absence of algae, so
sunlight is able to get through the water, which is very good.
Physical characteristics are important as well. While canoeing, many things were observed and
notices. Tires were seen at the bottom of the river. This is most likely because of the highway that
runs on both sides or the river, and over it on bridges too. Because of the highway, there is a high

After being promised a guide to the pyramids and a short travel period he was instead left alone
and without money. What had minutes beforehand seemed like a perfect way to his treasure was
now only an empty promise. Soon after, Santiago is forced to work for a crystal merchant in the

eleven months and during this time, continues to think less and less of his Personal Legend. He
becomes skilled in this practice and begins to work towards instead, replacing his flock of sheep
and returning to his past lifestyle. During this time, Santiago perceived reaching the pyramids as an
impossible feat claiming Egypt was now just a distant dream for him and that, like a mirage, it

The Presidential Election For The First Time
This November I get to exercise my constitutional right to vote in the presidential election for the
first time. This opportunity is something that I have looked forward to for a very long time. I ve
developed a rather heavy interest in politics over the past year or so, and have been actively
following the race to the presidency between Clinton and Trump. But despite my interest in
politics, I have been rather quiet on Facebook about my political beliefs and my feelings on this
election. While this is in part due to my lack of desire to post my political beliefs for the web, it
is mostly because this election, I m doing something that would shock my younger self; I am
voting for Clinton. Yes, I am voting for Clinton. And no, it is not just because I am 18 years old
and living in a college town in one of the most liberal parts of Indiana. If I m being honest, I
wanted to throw my vote away to a third party candidate for awhile. But ultimately, I decided that
it would be better to throw my support behind one of the major candidates. So after lots of critical
analysis of both candidates, including looking at their backgrounds and what their plans for our
country are, I came to my decision. I know that many of my Facebook friends are Republican
through and through. And I m willing to bet that this is because of their Christian faith. Growing up
a Christian, I think it s considered the norm to throw your allegiance at the Republican candidate.

Connecting Factors Essay
United Kingdom courts may consider additional connecting factors in establishing domicile of
origin, such as adoption. If the factor of adoption is not present in the case, United Kingdom
courts do not permit changes of domicile of unmarried children under the age of 16 unless their
parents from whom they depend change their domicile. The only exception to the general rule can
be inferred from Section 4 of the Domicile and Matrimonial Proceedings Act 1973, according to
which the domicile of dependency may be established in the light of the following connecting
factors: a) changes of the father s domicile may justify changes in his child s domicile; b) the
mother is entitled to elect whether her child s domicile must be changed with hers, under the
condition of the father s death or of when the child is illegitimate. However, the factor of adoption

The Chinese Christian church in the United States often has ethnic characteristics, but different
Chinese churches often have special concentration in the composition of the congregation, which
reflects the tide of Chinese immigrants in different stages. For example, descendants of early
immigrants from southern China usually have their fixed church. International students from the

Antitrust Law And The Antitrust Laws
ANTITRUST
Antitrust law in the United States is a collection of federal and state government laws regulating the
conduct and organization of business corporations with the intent to promote fair competition in an
open market economy for the benefit of the public. Congress passed the first antitrust statute, the
Sherman Antitrust Act, in 1890 in response to the public outrage toward big business. In 1914,
Congress passed two additional antitrust laws: the Federal Trade Commission Act and the Clayton
Act. (The Antitrust Laws. Web.)

Five years later, in 1966, Congress passed the Public Law 89 900 which had a major impact on
how the NFL would be examined under federal law. The statue contained an antitrust provision that

With logos and ethos effectively created, Churchill broadens his speech to fit a bigger audience:
the entirety of Great Britain. In a total war, the home front must be entirely united to continue to
fight and fund a war effort, and Churchill appeals to unity and patriotism. He asks the people of
Britain to give what Churchill himself will be offering blood, toil, tears, and sweat (32). If the
Prime Minister can give his everything to fight in the war, it encourages the audience to want to
participate as well. Churchill continues to appeal to unity through his use of words like we and
our to unite the country with the government as they fight for one cause. By creating a team ,
they can effectively rally the audience into action. The public opinion may believe that the
Germans are unstoppable, but Winston s emotionally charged words that with total effort and

the Prime Minister conveys the necessity for victory; victory at all costs; victory in spirt of all

40). By bringing the risk of destruction of the country should they fail, it further persuades the
audience to want to give their all so they can win the war. After riling up the crowd with the
emotionally charged pathos arguments, Churchill closes with a final remark: Come then, let us go

Another thing I noticed about the young people at the mall that night was the language they
used! I was completely appalled at the way these young people were speaking. As the young

out and fit in, but I honestly did not realize that young people spoke this way. It was very difficult
for me not to speak up at that point and ask them to please not use that type of language. This
made me realize the negativity that must be going on in their minds and hearts. This really opened
my eyes to the actions of young people that I wasn t aware of.
Seeing the way these young people were acting, dressing, and speaking made me realize, to an even
greater degree, how important youth ministry is. These young people broke my heart that night as
I realized how lost they must be. Many of them probably didn t grow up in loving homes. Many of
them may not even have homes to go to when they left the mall that night. What is truly

marriages that occur in India and the United States have several dramatic differences. Marriages
in India are based solely on parental decisions, whereas in the United States a marriage is based
on individualism. Who, why and how the spouse is chosen, is very different in both countries.
Most Americans date to discover who their future spouse is going to be, and they know the person
very well before marriage. In India, dating is not something that occurs. Most individuals in India

invited correspondences from North Indian professionals only and preferred that the man be an

bride and groom will meet one time for a brief conversation, but in most cases the bride and
groom s first appearance of each other is at their wedding (Nanda 624). However, some parents
are becoming more lenient in this area and allowing their son or daughter to meet at least one
time before making any final marital arrangements to see if the two individuals are in agreement
to get married to one another. This is not like a date in the United States where a couple goes out
to dinner and to a movie and hangs out. This is more like a formal meeting, chaperoned by a
guardian. It is sometimes classified as having tea together. As Americans, we probably think this
is an absurd way of getting married but those in India find arranged marriages by their parents
very satisfying and a better way to choose a spouse. Marriages in the United States are vastly

Egyptian Art Vs Byzantine Art
Throughout history, man has used several mediums to record the world they live in, whether it is
through writing or art. These mediums have also served not only as a way to represent the events
in history but also provide as a way to convey certain messages with hopes to teach, influence or
convince the viewers. Three periods in history, the Egyptian, the Roman, and the Byzantine, are
examples of cultures that used art as a mean to relate the earthly world with their religious beliefs.
With their art, the Egyptian aimed to paint the rulers as god kings, the Roman cultures represented
their gods and goddesses with humanlike actions, and lastly, the Byzantine period presented a

School Uniforms Persuasive Essay
Can What You Wear Make a Difference?
If schools could automatically have more safety, a stronger sense of unity within students, and
higher self esteem for every individual student at a minimal cost without transgressing any laws, or
stepping over students rights it is doubtful that many would turn up their nose to all of these things.
There is no difference between this situation and the benefits that school dress codes would provide.
While the majority of public schools do not require uniforms, the ones that do report it as a large

Students who do not wear certain brands do not feel left out, and everyone feels like they belong,
so school uniforms should be mandatory.
Secondly, nearly every student has had mornings in which they take an extended amount of time
debating what to wear. Why is this? Students want to wear what is in to avoid judgment. This is
just one of countless examples of how lower self esteem is associated with no uniforms. One survey
in Nevada stated that fifty four percent of students wearing uniforms either Agreed or Strongly
agreed that they still have their identities when wearing uniforms (Riley 3). School uniforms give
students a higher self esteem. In class, students are less focused on what they are wearing and if
they will blend in. By not feeling pressured to dress a certain way, this contributes to students
confidence. This gives Teachers an environment easier to teach in, and students an easier
environment to learn in (Daniels 3). By giving students a higher self esteem, they become more
alert during class, also creating an easier environment to teach in. Multiple studies have shown that
this reflects in students grades. Not only would students feel better about themselves, but uniforms
would reduce both stress and peer pressure among students, which leads to higher esteem and
school success. Next, it is a common argument in the school uniforms debate that they supposedly
go against the rights of students by

Amelia s Body Vs Brokeback Mountain
Brokeback Mountain and Amelia s body illustrate the vast differences of men and women in the
West. One, about privacy and hidden secrets, and the other where a whole town knows every detail
of this woman s life. Both show the difference each gender has in the West and how their
circumstances and gender roles affected them.
Brokeback Mountain is a consensual love story between two men who live married lives and even
have children. A major difference between this and Amelia s Body is the consensual part. These
men are free to do with their love life what they please, continuing their affair whilst married even
though their spouses appear the have knowledge of what the men do on their fishing trips. The men
are free to go where they want,

Hulk Hogan s Terry Bolle Public Figure
First I think we need to discuss Terry Bollea professionally known Hulk Hogan s situation. For
many years Hogan has played a stage character role in the ring, on talk shows and in the public
eye as an actor, professional wrestler and TV personality. According to Terry Bollea the person
behind Hogan is a whole different person, and when he was suing Gawker Media it was not a
wrestling angel but from Terry Bollea. Is Terry Bollea a public figure or a subject to limited
purpose public figure; who has thrusted himself to the forefront of his so call character change

Blitzkrieg Impact On Ww2
How did Blitzkrieg impact the battlefields of world war 2 and evolve military strategy ?
(Introduction)
World war 2 was one of mankind s bloodiest conflicts involving some of the biggest battles in
human history. A great part of the war s fatality was the massive development of weaponry and
tactics throughout the war. Humans showed their fullest capability of lethal creativity. Weapons
evolved in ways impossible to believe before, from massive ships with weapons to automatic rifles
world war 2 displayed the biggest weaponry innovation in history.
Along the weaponry improvement came the effective and dreadful tactic called Blitzkrieg , this
tactic which translates into lightning war was a new tactic introduced by nazi Germany during
World War 2, specifically the invasion of Poland and France. The tactic consisted in separating
troops by using focused firepower from the Luftwaffe (German air force) and ground forces with
tanks and artillery strikes. This strikes were delivered at the center of a unit to separate and confuse
the enemy, then since the enemy was disoriented, the troops would penetrate their defences easily.
Blitzkrieg was so successful, it lead to germany ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After this observation he advocated a concentration of force against the enemy in a well timed

where the concentration was most dense, therefore it was the right place to strike at the opposing

Comparing The TV Show Gossip Girl
The show gossip girl has been called the best teen drama ever made. However, there are many
people who say that they don t understand why gossip girl went on for as long as it did. That
being said it is based on the novels gossip girl. Which is based on an Elite privet school on the
upper east side of Manhattan whose students are less than citizens of the year. The show gossip girl
is about a mysterious blogger who exposes the main characters any time they have a secret. In
the show the blogger is called gossip girl and she runs everything if gossip girl doesn t write
about you then are you even alive. However, gossip girl has a few favorite victims, those being the
main characters such as Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf
, Chuck Bass, Nathaniel Archibald,
and Dan and Jenny Humphrey. All of the main characters are children of the elite and live on the
upper east side except for Dan... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the books we see a somewhat lazy character development. In the books the characters are two
dimensional at best. They have no feelings no layers and the characters are just rich high school
students who blow their parents money on clothes, parties and drugs. Serena van der woodsen
in the books is the tall hot blonde that every girl wants to be and every guy wants to be with and
best friend to Blair waldorf. In the show she s all those things but she also has her own coming
of age story that we see play out in the show such as the time she comes back to the upper east
side from boarding school because her younger brother tried to kill himself because he s gay and
their parents wouldn t accept him. Then there was the time she admits to killing a man. In another
instance where Serena runs away and gets engaged. This made the show so much better than the
book because in the book she comes back to the upper east side because she gets kicked out of
boarding school for doing

My Writing Class Analysis
Coming into college, I have had experience in writing analytical essays, research papers, and
creative writing projects. For two years in a row I had the privilege to be taught by the same
honor s English teacher Mr. McConahay. Mr. McConahay constantly stressed the importance of
writing. He spent the past two years preparing us for college level writingbecause he knows that in
college, writing is a big part of one s English class. We wrote about American citizenship and
what it meant to be a citizen of the world as well as a citizen of one s community. Mr.
McConahay valued structure and a good thesis the most out of anything. This writing was very
difficult for me because my mind works more creatively than it does analytically. Academic writing
has always been my weakest attribute when it came to schooling. I would much rather write a paper
full of opinions or made up people rather than write a research paper. Though his class was hard for
me, I noticed a difference in my writing as it improved over the course of the years. Mr.... Show

This past year I took a creative writing class that turned out to me my favorite class. In this class
we had to explore a variety of different types of writing that range from graphic novels and
political cartoons, to sestinas and screen plays. We wrote spoken word and explored different
types of poetry. I enjoyed the creativity and expression that could be put into these types of
writings. An assignment where I found that I majorly excelled in, was a Friday Afternoon Live
production. Our class put on a show like Saturday Night Live with completely original scripts and
skits. I was the hostess, so I had to create a funny monologue that was around 5 minutes long, and
perform it while our teacher recorded it. The project was well liked by the students who saw it,
and I really enjoyed the fact that I could write comedy productions and perform them in front of my

Shakespeare s Use of Language, Imagery and Setting to...
Shakespeare s Use of Language, Imagery and Setting to Illuminate Prospero s Journey from
Revenge to Reconciliation
The Tempest opens on a ship at sea caught in a tempestuous storm . This setting would
immediately suggest to the Elizabethan audience, the presence of danger and evil, as they would
be familiar with other Shakespearian plays where storms have been used in this way, for
example, Macbeth and King Lear. The desperate language of the characters in the opening scene
would further reinforce the audience s sense of evil afoot. The panic of the Boatswain is
illustrated when he cries A plague upon this howling and the terror of the passengers down below
can be heard as they cry Mercy on us! ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This very active opening establishes the theme for the play and the audience is left anticipating a
story of revenge and evil.
In Scene II, Shakespeare introduces a contrast to the storm through the setting of the island. At the
time Shakespeare wrote the Tempest, such a setting would have been significant to the audience as
many new lands and cultures were being discovered. These places were surrounded by myth,
superstition and fear of the unknown. The exchange between Miranda and her father Prospero
establishes that this is no ordinary island or plot. Miranda s opening speech suggests that her
father has magical powers, if by your Art, my dearest father, you have put the wild waters in this
roar, allay them . This suggestion that Prospero was responsible for the storm further reinforces
the idea introduced in the previous scene, that he is out for revenge, although the reason for his
desire for revenge is not clear at this point. The island s setting evokes ideas of magic and strange
happenings and suggests to the audience that anything can happen. Miranda s language contains
much dark imagery, which adds to the air of foreboding. Her statement that the sky would pour
down stinking pitch has unnatural overtones, suggesting that this was no normal storm.
Prospero s expositional speech, which begins on line 36 in Scene II,

Negligence is when somebody has a duty of care and that duty is breached. Negligence is split into 3 parts. Duty of Care In certain situations, a duty of care is owed to another person. For example, a surgeon owes a duty of care to whoever they operate on. The existence of a duty of care is established by the Neighbour Test which was brought in by Lord Aitken after the Donoghue v Stevensoncase; In the Donoghue v Stevenson case, Ms Donoghue was bought a ginger beer by a friend, and drank it, unknown to her, there was a snail in that ginger beer. One pound can be converted into 1.824 dollars. This is the exchange rate between the pound and the dollar. There are four types of currencies can be operated, which are a floating, managed and fixed exchange rate. To deal with a persistent surplus, government can increase home demand in order to encourage import, or raise home price to make export less competitive. To deal with a persistent deficit, government can reduce the home demand or decrease home price to make export more competitive. If both of measures inefficient, the only way of influence the exchange rate is to change the exchange rate. If countries with surpluses move their value of exchange rates higher, it will be revalue, if countries with deficit decrease their value of exchange rate, it will be devaluation. And usually, exports are dearer in the condition of devaluation. If a government is confident that a floating exchange rate system can keep a balance of payments in balance. Then it will not hold reserves of foreign currency. The market demand and supply for currency are the most significant determinant for influencing the exchange rate in a floated exchange rate system. This position grants the country a vast power within the global arena. Still, aside from its current economic strength, China is notable at the level of its cultural importance. In this setting, the Chinese culture is significant not only at its individual level, but also at the level of the influences it has manifested upon its neighboring countries at political, historical or cultural stances (McKay, Hill, Buckler, Ebrey and Beck, 2006). At a general level, the cultural impacts of China on the Asian states have manifested in a positive manner and they have been linked with the rapid and responsible evolution of the country. This in turn has materialized in opportunities for the neighboring countries as well. This perception has led to the responsible growth and development of communities in other Asian states. In the future, the influence of China is expected to further increase, with caution needing to be exercised at the level of the reaction of the Chinese population towards the intensifying relationships between their country and its neighbors (Xiaoming, 2006). • 22. External Environment Of The Brewing Industry Introduction This report will examine the external environment of the brewing industry using a PESTEL analysis and the internal capabilities of ABInBev using a value chain analysis in order to determine how the firm appears to compete. Following this, strategies for improving the competitive position of the company will be outlined. ABInBev is a multinational beverage and brewing company based in Belgium. It is the largest brewer in the world with a 20.8% market share (Statista, 2016) and is also one of the world s top five consumer goods companies. Figure 1: Market share by volume (Statista, 2016) The brewing industry is interesting to examine due to its relatively unique structure. Up until November 2015, the market was dominated by four main players, known informally as the Big Four . AB InBev was the largest, followed by SABMiller, Heineken and Carlsberg. In November 2015, however, ABInBev and SABMiller agreed a formal $107 billion takeover deal, combining the brewers into a company which industry experts claim would control around half of the industry s profits (Mickle, 2015). As a result of the sheer size and complexity of the merger, it is anticipated that the deal will not be finalised until the second half of 2016 as ABInBev must negotiate with anti trust regulators around the world with respect to their potential monopolistic position. As the deal is yet to be completed, this report will analyse ABInBev independent of SABMiller. Environmental ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This wide variety of life is a good indicator of the water s health. The chemical characteristics observed and documented were pH, temperature, phosphate, nitrate, turbidity, and dissolved oxygen. Each of these chemical levels were documented and found differently. Most were found using a kit or a device. The numbers found, would tell us how polluted the stream was and how much nutrients were in the water. Each chemical has a scale for telling what a good level is and what a bad level is. If an excess amount of nutrients was found in the water, algae could be formed. When algae is formed it blocks sunlight from shining into the water, which creates dead zones. This is called eutrophication. A dead zone is an area where there is no life. This can cause major problems like population issues and more. If the algae continues to grow in the river, the whole body of water can die out, and people as well as other organisms are very dependent on the Susquehanna. While on the river though, there was an absence of algae, so sunlight is able to get through the water, which is very good. Physical characteristics are important as well. While canoeing, many things were observed and notices. Tires were seen at the bottom of the river. This is most likely because of the highway that runs on both sides or the river, and over it on bridges too. Because of the highway, there is a high risk ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He works for the merchant for eleven months and during this time, continues to think less and less of his Personal Legend. During this time, Santiago perceived reaching the pyramids as an impossible feat claiming Egypt was now just a distant dream for him and that, like a mirage, it would always be just out of his reach (56). But despite my interest in politics, I have been rather quiet on Facebook about my political beliefs and my feelings on this election. If I m being honest, I wanted to throw my vote away to a third party candidate for awhile. But ultimately, I decided that it would be better to throw my support behind one of the major candidates. So after lots of critical analysis of both candidates, including looking at their backgrounds and what their plans for our country are, I came to my decision. In the books we see a somewhat lazy character development. In the books the characters are two dimensional at best. They have no feelings no layers and the characters are just rich high school students who blow their parents money on clothes, parties and drugs. Serena van der woodsen in the books is the tall hot blonde that every girl wants to be and every guy wants to be with and best friend to Blair waldorf. In the show she s all those things but she also has her own coming of age story that we see play out in the show such as the time she comes back to the upper east side from boarding school because her younger brother tried to kill himself because he s gay and their parents wouldn t accept him. Then there was the time she admits to killing a man. In another instance where Serena runs away and gets engaged. This made the show so much better than the book because in the book she comes back to the upper east side because she gets kicked out of boarding school for doing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. My Writing Class Analysis Coming into college, I have had experience in writing analytical essays, research papers, and creative writing projects. For two years in a row I had the privilege to be taught by the same honor s English teacher Mr. McConahay. Mr. McConahay constantly stressed the importance of writing. He spent the past two years preparing us for college level writingbecause he knows that in college, writing is a big part of one s English class. We wrote about American citizenship and what it meant to be a citizen of the world as well as a citizen of one s community. Mr. McConahay valued structure and a good thesis the most out of anything. This writing was very difficult for me because my mind works more creatively than it does analytically. Academic writing has always been my weakest attribute when it came to schooling. I would much rather write a paper full of opinions or made up people rather than write a research paper. Though his class was hard for me, I noticed a difference in my writing as it improved over the course of the years. Mr.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This past year I took a creative writing class that turned out to me my favorite class. In this class we had to explore a variety of different types of writing that range from graphic novels and political cartoons, to sestinas and screen plays. We wrote spoken word and explored different types of poetry. I enjoyed the creativity and expression that could be put into these types of writings. An assignment where I found that I majorly excelled in, was a Friday Afternoon Live production. Our class put on a show like Saturday Night Live with completely original scripts and skits. I was the hostess, so I had to create a funny monologue that was around 5 minutes long, and perform it while our teacher recorded it. The project was well liked by the students who saw it, and I really enjoyed the fact that I could write comedy productions and perform them in front of my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. Shakespeare s Use of Language, Imagery and Setting to... Shakespeare s Use of Language, Imagery and Setting to Illuminate Prospero s Journey from Revenge to Reconciliation The Tempest opens on a ship at sea caught in a tempestuous storm . This setting would immediately suggest to the Elizabethan audience, the presence of danger and evil, as they would be familiar with other Shakespearian plays where storms have been used in this way, for example, Macbeth and King Lear. The desperate language of the characters in the opening scene would further reinforce the audience s sense of evil afoot. The panic of the Boatswain is illustrated when he cries A plague upon this howling and the terror of the passengers down below can be heard as they cry Mercy on us! ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This very active opening establishes the theme for the play and the audience is left anticipating a story of revenge and evil. In Scene II, Shakespeare introduces a contrast to the storm through the setting of the island. At the time Shakespeare wrote the Tempest, such a setting would have been significant to the audience as many new lands and cultures were being discovered. These places were surrounded by myth, superstition and fear of the unknown. The exchange between Miranda and her father Prospero establishes that this is no ordinary island or plot. Miranda s opening speech suggests that her father has magical powers, if by your Art, my dearest father, you have put the wild waters in this roar, allay them . This suggestion that Prospero was responsible for the storm further reinforces the idea introduced in the previous scene, that he is out for revenge, although the reason for his desire for revenge is not clear at this point. The island s setting evokes ideas of magic and strange happenings and suggests to the audience that anything can happen. Miranda s language contains much dark imagery, which adds to the air of foreboding. Her statement that the sky would pour down stinking pitch has unnatural overtones, suggesting that this was no normal storm. Prospero s expositional speech, which begins on line 36 in Scene II, ...
