False Confessions Research Paper
False confessions has been the centered stone in the legal system for quite some time. The law
enforcement are the biggest advocate for wrongly conducting in false confessions. There are many
different tactics and behavioral issues that contribute to the false confessions. The main streamline
techniques that are used by law enforcement are the Reid Technique that consist of four areas; lost of
control, social isolation, certainty of guilt, and exculpatory. In addition, there is also four types of false
confessions; instrumental confessions, authentic confessions, voluntary confessions, and coerced
confessions.
The most common type of interrogation techniques that law enforcement tends to use is the
Intimidation factors (Costanzo, M, Krauss, pg35). They believe that they can intimidate a suspect into
confession. Another common technique used is psychological coercion, this consist of leaving no
physical marks on the suspect such as pushing the suspect head down inside the toilet, almost
drowning the suspect, making the suspect stand for long hours, withholding food and water, and ...

The fours situational techniques are lost of control. Lost of control is controlling the their psychical
environment; making the suspect feel as uncomfortable as possible. The second one is called Social
isolation. Social isolation is depriving the suspect of emotional support. Not allowing the suspect talk
to his friends or family or anyone known to him. The third one is called Certainty of guilt. Certainty of
guilt is using direct accusations. Telling the suspect that he committed the crime and knows that he did
based off poly evidences. The fourth one is called Exculpatory scenarios. Exculpatory scenario is
using face saving guilt excuse for the crime. In this example the integrator is trying to reason with the
suspect about why he committed the crime (Costanzo, M, Krauss,

Review Of Ordeal Of The Longhouse By Daniel Richter
Daniel Richter, an American historian, completed his literary work, Ordeal of the Longhouse in 1992.
His purpose of writing this book was to illustrate the Native Americans side of the colonization of
America and their interactions with the new colonizers, while emphasizing the ordeals that they faced
at that time. Those ordeals included: disease, economic dependency, imperial struggles, and issues
with their neighbors (2). Richter was out to prove that despite and because of these struggles, Iroquois
culture, politics, and diplomacy evolved in the 17th and 18th century through their interactions with
different groups of European peoples. These interactions have shaped Native American traditions as
well as American diplomacy as we know it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He discusses one instance where the English joined in an alliance with the Iroquois in order to further
an anti French sentiment, which would then aid the English in maintaining control of the land and
trade. I do not believe that the advantages that the Iroquois gained from these cultivated ties, if any,
were clearly presented in the book. Furthermore, not only does it seem like the Indians were not in
control of their own destiny and actions at times, but also that they were naive to look positively on
the diplomatic gifts from the Europeans. For example, in 1673, the Dutch military gave the Mohawks
a diplomatic present in hopes that the Mohawks would tell the commander of the state to put a stop to
all correspondence with the Jesuit and Frenchmen from Canada (135). In the midst of the different
European nations struggles with one another, it is difficult to see where the Iroquois really come into
play and make a case for their own identity until the 18th

Disruption Of Natural Order In Macbeth
The Significance Of Setting Of Macbeth In The Disruption of The Sacred Natural Order
Today, we rely on a contextualization of most things in order to make sense of them. The plot, and the
theme of a play are better appreciated when we are clear and informed about the play s setting.
Knowing when and where the play or event takes place, is the key to truly understanding that play or
event. The time and place helps us to understand what the play is all about and it s true meaning. This
concept relates to William Shakespeare s classic tragedy Macbeth, as knowledge of the setting helps
us to better understand Macbeth s character and his actions. Set in the year 1050 in northern Scotland,
the time and place heavily reflect the Medieval period ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through the cultural context of the play, this play has links to Early Modern England. Historically,
Macbeth ruled Scotland as the king for 17 years from 1040 to 1057. However, the accounts in this
Scottish Period vary. Furthermore, scholars agree that Macbeth gained the throne by killing King
Duncan and lost the throne to his son Malcolm by being killed. Shakespeare heavily searched for these
types of histories as well as other sources in the structure of the play. More specifically, he used
Raphael Holinshed s Chronicles of England, Scotland, and Ireland published in 1587 but he may have
been familiar with George Buchanan s Rerum Scoticarum Historae published a few years back in
1582. Both of these scholars were historians that mainly covered the subject of Macbeth. Moreover,
William Shakespeare deviates from these historical sources in his exploration of the main themes of
kingship, human nature, and evil. These alterations to the story include portraying the tragic hero as an
evil person and portraying Banquo as a sympathetic character. As an example, Holinshed and
Shakespeare s illustrations of Duncan is different. Duncan historically, is described as a young, weak,
and an ineffective king. On the other hand, William Shakespeare s vision for Duncan is an older,
benevolent, influential, and virtuous king, whose murder

Racism Is A Social Problem
Racism is a social problem that cannot be ignored to this day in American societies. Race is a group of
people who have differences and similarities known to be biologically inherited. The race concept is
used to describe how people think of others and treat other groups as they classify themselves by race.
People don t realize that there is an overlapping of sheared characteristics from different groups.
Different races has led a social problem creating racism and discrimination which leads to inequality
towards different groups of people. American values set a major impact on the inequality of race and
ethnicity. There is Racism and Discrimination in the education system, workspace and career, in the
communities/public settings, social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For an example, when someone asks you to describe a terrorist, most people will describe a person
with a hijab or turban around their head. Labeling is the behavior of the self of individuals behaving
the way they are being labeled. For an example, if a teenager is being labeled as deviant, they teenager
will engage in that deviant behavior. Although the label we give to a group or individual is not
permanent due to the change of our society. For an example, we had our very first African American
president Barak Obama in the Unites States of America for eight years. labeling leads to
discrimination to race and ethnicity groups. Police officers continue to label African Americans and
Hispanics as criminals, deviants, dangerous, drug dealers, and so on. Not all labels stay permanent but
some tend to stick onto a certain group or individual through time.
Racism and Discrimination are often used, yet their meanings differ in their own way through actions
and intent. The definition of racism is the prejudice that members of one race is more superior to
individuals of other race. Discrimination is a physical behavior or practice distinguishing the
differences between things or treating individuals as inferior based on their characteristics. The
difference between racism and discrimination is that one definition involves a belief and the other
definition involves an action and behavior. For an example, an

The Garden Essay
Andrew Marvell s The Garden is a poem that through logical progression argues its already
established point of view. It is a poem of meditation in a particular place, where the place presented
influences the course of this meditative state. Even though filled with the imagery of nature the poem
takes a rather pessimistic point of view, where it argues that total isolation from society and harmony
with nature as the singular best way of living. Thus, the whole of the poem centers on the idea of
wholesome nature in a world without the instruction of mankind. In the first three stanzas, the virtues
of the garden are provided through comparison with the trial (and supposed pleasures) of the world of
men, stanzas five through seven address ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In effect, in the second stanza, the speaker speaks to the harmony he has found in the garden as he
compares the world of men and that of nature: Fair Quiet, have I found thee here, / And Innocence, thy
sister dear? (9 10). However, as he does so the speaker seem to fully inhabit neither of these worlds,
and his praise of the garden is lessened by doubt in the very stanza that should establish the garden s
virtues, the speaker cant even be certain that those virtues exist: Your sacred plant, if here below, /
Only among the plants will grown (13 14). The words if and will signify that such was not yet
achieved. However, the last two lines of the come back to the central idea of the negation of humanity:
Society is all but rude/ To this delicious solitude (15 16) implying that the society is harmful to this
perfect harmony of the garden. The argument of the poem in the third and fourth stanzas still remains
that of humanity against nature, however this time with an emphasis on sexual passions. Here, the
pleasures of human erotic pursuit are found decidedly wanting when compared to the pleasures of the
garden. The pleasures compared are of a kind: No white nor red was ever seen / So amorous as this
lovely green (17 18). The colors of white and red are emblematic of female beauty (Rumrich, 554.9)

The Human Papillomavirus ( Hpv )
The Human Papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted disease (STD), is the most common
sexually transmitted disease in the United States with about 14 million cases each year. There are two
different types of HPV: low risk and high risk. According to the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC), more than 90 percent and 80 percent, respectively, of sexually active men and
women will be infected with at least one type of HPV at some point in their lives. Around one half of
these infections are with a high risk HPV (CDC n.p.). High risk HPV can sometimes cause cancer;
however, there is no way of predicting which infected persons could develop cancer or other serious
health problems. The most common form of HPV, low risk, causes warts; this type of HPV goes away
on its own in most cases (CDC n.p.). A vaccination, proven to prevent against four major stands of
HPV, has recently been developed. The vaccination has led to an enormous amount of controversy
regarding whether the vaccination should be mandatory. Although the vaccine is new, it has been
proven effective in preventing HPV and numerous types of cancer caused by HPV; therefore, it should
be mandatory in order to protect today s youth from HPV. Although most HPV cases are not life
threating, many believe it is best to get the vaccination. The HPV vaccination has been proven to
prevent multiple types of cancer and other effects of the disease. It is recommended that young girls

Theme Of Mistakes In Romeo And Juliet
Every story or piece of writing has more than one theme, some harder to find than others. In the play
Romeo and Juliet the most obvious theme seems to be love, but, digging deeper in the play, more less
obvious themes become noticeable. Shakespeare was trying to deliver the message of folliness and
folly and how Romeo and juliet s love was rushed to quickly. Common sense could have been used to
avoid the deaths of the couple and possibly end the family feud.
Making mistakes are a natural part of what makes us humans. It is our flaw because no one is perfect,
but those that are wise, learn from them. I do not consider a mistake a mistake unless there was no
common sense used. Using common sense before making a mistake usually has a better, less harmful,
outcome and could be avoided next time it happens. In the play Romeo and Juliet everyone is a
subject of foolishness and folly, and neglecting a mistake lead to the unrealized death s of the two
protagonists. The main character(s) who embodie the message of foolishness and folly points to
Romeo, Tybalt, the Nurse and Friar lawrence and their lack of common sense. Pointing out all of
Romeo s foolishness in the play is easy, but it is not always Romeo s fault. Romeo was influenced by
love, Friar Lawrence, Tybalt, the nurse, his friends and family to do crazy things with only Juliet as his
motivation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Four Stages Of Group Development
The four stages of group development are forming, storming, norming, and performing. None of the
stages have to go in a particular order. Forming is the first stage where people join together for a
reason. Our group formed because this class put us together, which was mainly based on the need to
fulfill the goal of passing Small Group Communication and doing a service project together. This
happened when we filled out the sheets about our skills and whom we would and would not like to
work with. We were then all introduced to our new groups in class.
Stage two was next for us. This stage is called storming. This is the tension felt in the group. It is fine
for a group to have tension as long as it is a healthy balance of helpful and unhelpful tension. There
are two different types. The first is primary tension, which is what a group feels when they first meet.
That tension usually goes away over time as the group finds a sense of cohesiveness. There is also
secondary tension, which consists of the stress and strain of dealing with deadlines, conflicts, and
scheduling issues. Our group honestly had a very healthy balance of tension. We all got along from the
very first time we met. I even remember us all saying how happy we were that we ended up in The
Avengers. This continued on even with deadlines, conflicts, and schedules. We all were very good
about being flexible and open to new ideas for the most part. I think that deadlines just pushed us to
work harder and cooperate

The Three Joys and One Misfortune
The Three Joys and One Misfortune Paresse Pereza was a lazy woman who never worked. In her
childhood and adolescence, she did not finish her homework or chores and did not attend school; even
after becoming an adult, she stayed in her house, completely depending on her parents for everything.
Her appearance, however, was very charming. She had beautiful golden hair that landed softly on her
back and bluish emerald eyes that glowed when reflected on sunlight. She always wore a black one
piece as if attending a funeral, and anyone who had seen her would say that they had a good first
impression of her.
After Paresse s parents whom she was wholly relying on died, the young woman became homeless
and impoverished, since she did not have any inheritance from her parents. Although she was
struggling in poverty, Paresse remained idle and did not even think about getting a job or a house. One
day, Paresse was wandering around her neighborhood, hoping to find some food to eat. Her charming
appearance had disappeared: her smooth golden hair became rough and dirty, and her beautiful
emerald eyes seemed to turn into a dull khaki color, due to her stained face. Her black one piece had
turned into a chunk of ragged fabric, and she had blisters on her feet since she wore no shoes.
As she walked aimlessly, she inadvertently arrived at a gargantuan forest called The Dark Forest.
There was a rumor about a prophet who lived inside the forest and made anyone s wish come true.

After our rendez vous this is the last word he said, waving to me as the train pulled away from the

convey active voice is through the word hunting. In this sentence she describes how as she was
departed from her lover, her world had come crashing down and sets out a mysterious tone for the
poem. In addition to the example of an active voice is in her poem Gerburt des Monica kinds when

The Success Of Successful Aging
Like the very definition of success, successful aging means many different things to different people.
While the subject of successful and vital aging can be inspiring and empowering, it undoubtedly
requires flexibility and adaptation in response to changes in health and functioning that are quite
common as individuals inevitably age. Through formulated theories and suppositions proposed
throughout decades in gerontological studies, many agree upon consistencies that exist across
chronological aging. However, there are many more individual paths and much heterogeneity among
older adults. As a result, gerontologists in the years have incorporated issues such as privileges or
disadvantage across the lifespan to better attempt to address some of the diversity among older adults
to foster optimal or successful aging.
Satisfaction with one s past and present life for example, has been the most commonly proposed
definition of successful ageing. Nonetheless, it is also the most commonly investigated. While its
components include fortitude, morale, autonomy and independence, self efficacy and overall
wellbeing, the outcome of one s development over their lifespan is done so by utilizing past
experiences to cope with present circumstances. Therefore, it is also seen as a multidimensional,
particularized dynamic process.
While most behavioral actions for successful aging continue to promote health related behaviors and
engagement in prolific stimulating activities, the basis of

Cause Of Gun Violence In The United States
Gun Violence in America
There has been a great surge of discussion about the threat of gun violence here in the United States, a
topic that has been expanded into a national and even international debate. Gun violence today affects
many, and has been highly scrutinized by lawmakers, lobbyists, which has coined pro/anti gun
activists. But what are the numbers telling us? Is this really a public health crisis? The American
Psychological Association defines firearm violence as taking a number of different forms, including,
but not limited to, suicide and suicide attempts, violent conflicts and disputes, intimate partner
violence, unintentional deaths and injuries, violent criminal activity, and violent acts while intensely
distressed, intoxicated, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the main risks is racial disparities regarding homicide by discharge of firearm. The CDC
reported that in 2013 almost 60% of victims of homicide by firearm were black (CDC, 2016).
Additionally, as mentioned earlier, white males attribute to only 17.0 deaths by firearms compared to
African American males at 31.5 in 2013. This data highlights the overwhelming majority of deaths by
guns are members of the African American community. Some social determinants that can decrease
the risk of being a victim of gun violence are not simply demonstrated because gun violence is a
sensitive subject in America that sparks wide debates on moral, governmental, and various other
societal issues. There are many firearms in the United States more than 300 million (Hepburn, Miller,
Azrael, Hemenway, 2007) about as many guns as people (APA, 2016) which can be an increased risk
factor for committing gun violence, but what about those who are killed? Decreasing their risk is
equally as complicated. Reducing access to firearms significantly decreases gun violence (APA, 2016)
as does policies like Child Access Prevention (CAP) laws, which hold adults liable for insecure
storage of firearms around children, have decreased adolescent suicides and unintentional shootings of
children (Webster Starnes, 2000; Webster, Vernick, Zeoli, Manganello, 2004). In addition, ones of low
SES that display signs of poverty, socially disorganized neighborhoods, or high crime rates need a
sense of community at the institutional setting. In a study conducted by the University of Maryland for
Congress, they revealed that increasing employment in communities can reduce crime rates, thus
reducing victims of gun violence (Bushway

Although many of these benefits are seemingly obvious, few people have taken the time to think about

of sex presumably one can only study the feeding habits of fruit flies for so long and their studies have

Therefore the story of Offred is also questioned in the ending, the Historical Notes. In the beginning
we are immediately plunged into a rather fragmented narrative, and a seemingly nightmarish world (in
this case the dystopian setting is Gilead) where we know very little about what is going on or what is
going to happen to Offred, the main character, sleeping in a gym guarded by aunts . The state of shock
and bewilderment created leads to the rest of the opening being read in a state of suspense. The setting
of a disused university gymnasium helps to achieve a sense of tension as it subtly reminds the reader
of the ideas of nuclear fallout: Offred had slept in what had once been the gymnasium . Gymnasiums
often feature in journalism as emergency centres; this location immediately suggests to the reader that
something is wrong. The reader is confused as the narrative starts seemingly with a crisis though what
that causes is not stated. The first chapter is in past tense and is used to establish her situation and
explore how the gymnasium represents the past, with Offred wistfully longing for days of a bygone
era. This is reinforced by the narrator reminiscing about high school dances that would have been held
in the gym, girls felt skirted...later in mini skirts . It can be argued therefore, that the introduction of
the novel serves as a means to persuade the reader to read on; missing vital information and an
unfamiliar use of the setting achieve

Martin Luther Characterize Paul s Letter To Believers In Rome
Martin Luther (1483 1546), Paul and his thought are at the very heart of the Christian theological
enterprise. Thus, Luther wrote that Paul s letter to believers in Rome is in truth the most important
document in the New Testament, the gospel in its purest expression. . . . It is the soul s daily bread,
and can never be read too often, or studied too much. . . . It is a brilliant light, almost enough to
illumine the whole Bible. This is how I feel when I read about Paul and his writings.
Paul has traditionally been portrayed as having converted from Judaism to Christianity, and thus as
both the original apostate and a threat to the Jewish people and to Judaism (Jant, 551). Paul s
conversion was not the conversion of a terrible sinner from

Delusional ideation
A multiple regression analysis was run to predict delusional ideation from pathology severity,
perception, memory, speak vs. hear, and imagine vs. hear with forced entry. There was linearity as
assessed by partial regression plots and a plot of studentized residuals against the predicted values.
There was independence of residuals, as assessed by a Durbin Watson statistic of 2.011. There was
homoscedasticity, as assessed by visual inspection of a plot of studentized residuals versus
unstandardized predicted values. There was evidence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were no studentized deleted residuals greater than ±3 standard deviations, no leverage values
greater than 0.2, and values for Cook s distance above 1. The assumption of normality was met, as
assessed by Q Q Plot. The multiple regression model statistically significantly predicted hallucination
history, F(4, 175) = 89.89, p .005, adj. R2 = 66.5%. All variables added statistically significantly to the
prediction, p .05. Regression coefficients and standard errors can be found in Table 2 (below).

The story opens and ends with the letters of an explorer named Robert Walton, who is searching for
the source of magnetism in the northern polar regions. There he finds and rescues Dr. Victor
Frankenstein from certain death in the icy ocean. While he is recovering, Frankenstein tells Walton the
story of his life. Set within Frankenstein s narrative and Walton s letters is the first person story told by
the creature Frankenstein created. Frankenstein, a young man from a happy family in Geneva,
Switzerland, becomes obsessed with the idea of bestowing life on inanimate matter. He studies
chemistry and new theories of electricity at a German university. With this knowledge and with body
parts from corpses, Frankenstein creates a large manlike being and brings it to life with an electric
spark. Finding the creature grotesquely ugly when it is animated, Frankenstein runs away from it. The
creature quickly disappears. For months afterward, Frankenstein suffers from what he calls a nervous
fever in which hallucinations of the creature torment him. After his recovery, Frankenstein learns that
his young brother William has been murdered near the family home in Switzerland. A young woman
who lived with the Frankenstein family is unjustly accused and hanged for the child s murder. On his
trip home, Frankenstein sees the creature and realizes that he killed the child. Frankenstein seeks

The Courage to Differ Essay example
Life has many instances in which one must choose whether to stand apart from the group and disagree
with his peers or to nod vehemently in agreement and quickly seek security as a part of the group.
Many choose to follow the crowd because of the fear of rejection. They hang tightly to the bumper of
the car of acceptance not worrying of the cuts and scrapes they are suffering as they struggle to hold
on. Others painfully watch the car drive over the horizon and reassure themselves continually that it
was worth it to stay behind. When we are older and look upon our past, we will realize that the
courage to dissent or assent during our lifetimes can cause us either regret or contentment.
The effects of being swayed into assent along with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Meanwhile a boy confidently stepped into the chambers of the king and boldly said to the king Let no
man s heart fail because of him; your servant will go out and fight with this Philistine (Holy Bible, 1
Sam. 17. 32). The king rolled his eyes and muttered something under his breath. He looked the boy up
and down. The boy was scrawny and small and no match for the giant they were fighting. Surprised
and amused by the boy s matter of fact attitude the king responded You are not able to go against this
Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth and he a man of war from his youth (Holy Bible 1
Sam. 17. 33) At much insisting the king agreed to let the boy fight and dressed him in the armor of a
warrior but the boy refused to wear it as it was too big for him. His brothers ridiculed him and told
him to go home. As he walked by the cowardly soldiers he shrugged off put downs thrown at him
from left and right. The boy persisted and walked towards the giant and defeated him in the name of
Israel s god. He had done it! He decided to go against the masses, to defy the pleading and ridiculing
of peers, and to suffer the insults hurled at him so he could stand for what he believed in. Casting
popular opinion aside he chose to continue his walk in dissent but in pride and victory. The young boy
of this story is named David. David became Israel s greatest leader and warrior

Language Variation in Dutch
Final Project
Language variation in Dutch: A Case Study Conducted in Brabant Province, The Netherlands
Introduction
The study of sociolinguistics has become interesting due to the scope of its study is very wide. Its
study is not only about the study of the language itself but also the context where the language is being
used and the society who use the language. Therefore, there are many aspects that can be taken into
consideration when the study of sociolinguistics is going to conducted. Those aspects are the social
context as well as social factors including social distance, social status, age, gender and class.
Furthermore, a language also appears varieties such as dialects, registers, and genres.
Before speaking, we tend to consider any aspects as part of social values in the community. This can
appear in a language we use in which we tend to speak differently in term of different dialects, or
genre in a different context for example, we speak differently to a teacher, close friends, elderly
people, or to our parents. The way we treat people differently in term of the use of language is might
be to show a respect, solidarity, or even a distance. In term of a distance, both social and psychological
distance can be shown through a language for instance, a student who speaks to a friendly professor
that is socially distant but psychologically close and to a very respected professor that is socially and
psychologically distant.

Celebratory Transition
The celebratory feast began with a welcoming of the newly appointed Husband and Wife and they
took their place at the long table at the front with the rest of the bridal party. The guests were seated
and speeches were given by father of the groom, best man, sister of the bride and her father before the
first dance occurs. The groom led the bride to the dancefloor, after her attendants bustled her train to
the back of her dress, while the guests gathered around to witness the dance. The bride and groom
began the dance together while the attendants danced with the groomsmen. After the dance the bride
and groom cut the cake and the guests began to give small envelopes with gifts to the bride to place

Rites of passage according to Arnold Van Gennep (1960) are experiences of transition that represent
growth in life which can be divided into; rites of separation, in which the individual is divorced from
their familiar environment, rites of transition, in which the old identity is destroyed and a temporary
one created, and the rites of aggregation where the individual is reintegrated into society in their new
role. The 2016 wedding can be understood as a rite of separation where the bride and groom give up
their single identity upon engagement, another example can be seen where the bride is given away by
the father of the bride, shedding one family identity for another. The rite of transition can be seen
where they are stripped of their single identity upon engagement and placed in a liminal state with
identities of Bride and Groom until the conclusion of the transition (Turner, 1987). Finally, the rite of
aggregation can be observed as the two individuals are presented with their new identities and re enter
society as Husband and Wife via ring and vow exchange, announcement to the guests, signing of
marriage certificate, and celebrations by friends and

Mutual Love In Romeo And Juliet
When I read the tragedy Romeo and Juliet, I thought that it had quite the dark ending. However, I also
thought that we could learn from this extreme case of what grudges do to people. It hardens their
hearts and makes them think that This will hurt them, even though that it really hurts themselves in the
process. Since the Capulets (Juliet s family) and the Montagues (Romeo s family) had both taken part
of an ancient feud against each other, Romeo and Juliet s love for each other is not at all accepted by
their families, which causes problems with their marriage. If The Capulets and Montagues put their
differences aside, the entire book would have been totally different. In many areas we can learn so
much from Romeo and Juliet, as well as the other characters in the book, especially with how many of
them seem to not think through most of their choices before committing or going through with
something. My ultimate goal in this essay is showing how being a teenager can be a difficult journey,
but thinking through things and not letting your emotions get the best of you can and will greatly help
your life. To achieve my goal, I have properly organized my paper into four sections going over three
topics. In my first topic I will go over Romeo and Juliet s mutual love and immediate marriage, and
what went wrong, why it was wrong, and how it could have been prevented. In the following section, I
discuss the topic of Romeo s violent tendencies and why it was wrong; along with

Community Health Center for the Uninsured and Undocumented...
Although the number of illegal immigrants is substantially growing on a daily basis, the national
health care policies seem to fail in addressing their medical needs. This, however, is becoming a
growing challenge because of the conflicts between medical ethics and immigration laws. Despite the
alluded hope for this patients group within the immigration reform, the Patient Protection and
Affordable Care Act (PPACA) fails to alleviate the burden of their unmet health care needs. Advocates
of their rights for health coverage argue that medical ethics and the United States moral obligations
necessitate expanding coverage to all population residing within the borders of the country.
Conversely, opponents deny their health coverage because their illegal status disqualify them from all
public benefits. This paper goes beyond these opposing assumptions and instead, proposes a strategic
plan to raise and combine resources necessary to establish a health care center for the uninsured,
underinsured, and illegal immigrants in Northern California. The paper covers the establishment of
this center with special focus on strategic funding, funding constraints, related state and national
regulations, health policy, resources allocation, and managerial and leadership. Funding Like any
business idea, the first step to establish a community health center is to figure out all necessary funds
and funding resources for the anticipated expenses. In general, according to McLaughlin and

Female Protagonists In Hosseini s A Thousand Splendid Suns
A Thousand Splendid Suns is a novel about two woman protagonists, Mariam and Laila. The
trajectory of their lives forms the double plot of the book, and although the narrative is in the third
person, the point of view itself shifts to that of the character whose plotline is being developed. The
two women s narrative points of view structure the novel with intricately wrought symmetry. Part 1 of
the novel is told through Mariam s point of view, part 2 of the book is written through Laila s point of
view while part 3 is however written in the viewpoint alternates between the women with each
chapter. The conclusion, part 4 is written in Laila s point of view to end the book with a different point
of view than they started the book with (Hosseini, 2007). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the book Mariam endured pain and hardship. When I compare the two I would have to
say that Mariam s life is more traumatic. At the age of 15 her mother committed suicide; she believes
that it is her fault because her mother did it after she ran away. I would say that Mariam has living a
life full of internal conflict. Mariam is also trying to win her father s, Jalil, love while she is being
rejected by him because his wives do not like her. It was worse when he sold her against her own to
Rasheed which resulted in Mariam living with an abusive husband after she had a few miscarriages. I
would say that any type of prison would have been better than the prison she lived in while she is

Examine the impact of the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997 on the region s development
Since World war II, development has been the most important term used to describe economic, social
and political changes in what have come to be known as Third world countries (Zhang, 2003).
The Asian financial crisis of 1997 had a major impact on the regions development as it was the end of
the East Asian economic miracle, a time that showed staggering economic growth throughout the Asia
Pacific. However, despite evidence that the economic development has slowed down within the
region, it can be argued that the 1997 crisis encouraged intra regional co operation and collaboration,

Garran (1998) argues that most countries affected failed to set up acceptable regulations and
supervision that would have allowed capital markets to develop without risky imbalances. He states
that countries over borrowed, over invested and over reached themselves .
Although it can be argued that the entire region felt the effects of the crisis, some countries suffered
more than others. According to Barro (2001) the countries mainly affected include Indonesia, South
Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand, this is because between July 1997 to early 1998 these
countries experienced currency depreciations of more than 50%. In these countries, offshore nominal
interest rates reached at least 25% at some point between June 1997 and January 1998. Real per capita
GDP fell by 16% in Indonesia, 12% in Thailand, 10% in Malaysia, and 8% in South Korea, and 3% in
the Philippines. He argues that China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan were much less
affected by the crisis as they experienced depreciations of less than 25%, and nominal interest rates
remained below 20%.
The crisis resulted in the set back of over 30 years of strong economic and social development in the
region, the loss of jobs caused riots, destruction and even death from poverty in the affected countries.

Robert Schumann Essay
Robert Alexander Schumann was born in the small riverside town of
Zwickau, Saxony, in 1810.The youngest of five children, Robert Schumann was brought up in
comfortable, middle class respectability. As a child, he apparently exhibited no remarkable abilities.
At the age of six, Robert was sent to the local preparatory school, run by Archdeacon Dohner. He had
in fact already begun his education, with the young tutor who gave lessons in exchange for board and
lodging at the
Schumann home.
At the age of seven Robert received his first piano lessons, from
Johann Gottfried Kuntzsch, organist at St. Mary s Church, and schoolmaster at the Zwickau Lyceum.

After secret discussions, the engagement was broken off by mutual agreement. Possibly
Robert had been kept in the dark about Ernestine s origins.
In any event, the affair had a catalytic effect on Robert s music. He had the idea of writing a series of
piano pieces based on the letters ASCH; these he later turned into Carnival. He also composed some
piano variations on a theme provided by Baron von Fricken.
But Robert s friend Schunke had fallen seriously ill. Unable to bear the sight, Robert went back to
Zwickau again, only returning to Leipzig in
December to negotiate a change of publisher for the Zeitschrift. From the beginning of 1835 the
journal was published by the Leipzig firm of JA Barth.
Late in 1835 Mendelsson arrived in Leipzig to take over as music director of the Gewandhaus. Still
only twenty six, Mendelsson was the director of the age, and Schumann felt an immediate attraction
when they met at Wieck s house. Following the newcomer s debut in Leipzig, Schumann wrote
praising him in the quot;Letters of an Enthusiast quot; column of his Zeitzcrift.
Schumann did however venture to criticise Mendelssohn s use of the baton; he believed that an
orchestra should function as a quot;republic quot; and that ridgity should be avoided. At about this
time, too, Robert met both

  • 2. False Confessions Research Paper False confessions has been the centered stone in the legal system for quite some time. The law enforcement are the biggest advocate for wrongly conducting in false confessions. There are many different tactics and behavioral issues that contribute to the false confessions. The main streamline techniques that are used by law enforcement are the Reid Technique that consist of four areas; lost of control, social isolation, certainty of guilt, and exculpatory. In addition, there is also four types of false confessions; instrumental confessions, authentic confessions, voluntary confessions, and coerced confessions. The most common type of interrogation techniques that law enforcement tends to use is the Intimidation factors (Costanzo, M, Krauss, pg35). They believe that they can intimidate a suspect into confession. Another common technique used is psychological coercion, this consist of leaving no physical marks on the suspect such as pushing the suspect head down inside the toilet, almost drowning the suspect, making the suspect stand for long hours, withholding food and water, and ... • 3. Review Of Ordeal Of The Longhouse By Daniel Richter Daniel Richter, an American historian, completed his literary work, Ordeal of the Longhouse in 1992. His purpose of writing this book was to illustrate the Native Americans side of the colonization of America and their interactions with the new colonizers, while emphasizing the ordeals that they faced at that time. Those ordeals included: disease, economic dependency, imperial struggles, and issues with their neighbors (2). Richter was out to prove that despite and because of these struggles, Iroquois culture, politics, and diplomacy evolved in the 17th and 18th century through their interactions with different groups of European peoples. These interactions have shaped Native American traditions as well as American diplomacy as we know it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He discusses one instance where the English joined in an alliance with the Iroquois in order to further an anti French sentiment, which would then aid the English in maintaining control of the land and trade. I do not believe that the advantages that the Iroquois gained from these cultivated ties, if any, were clearly presented in the book. Furthermore, not only does it seem like the Indians were not in control of their own destiny and actions at times, but also that they were naive to look positively on the diplomatic gifts from the Europeans. For example, in 1673, the Dutch military gave the Mohawks a diplomatic present in hopes that the Mohawks would tell the commander of the state to put a stop to all correspondence with the Jesuit and Frenchmen from Canada (135). In the midst of the different European nations struggles with one another, it is difficult to see where the Iroquois really come into play and make a case for their own identity until the 18th ... • 4. Disruption Of Natural Order In Macbeth The Significance Of Setting Of Macbeth In The Disruption of The Sacred Natural Order Today, we rely on a contextualization of most things in order to make sense of them. The plot, and the theme of a play are better appreciated when we are clear and informed about the play s setting. Knowing when and where the play or event takes place, is the key to truly understanding that play or event. The time and place helps us to understand what the play is all about and it s true meaning. This concept relates to William Shakespeare s classic tragedy Macbeth, as knowledge of the setting helps us to better understand Macbeth s character and his actions. Set in the year 1050 in northern Scotland, the time and place heavily reflect the Medieval period ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through the cultural context of the play, this play has links to Early Modern England. Historically, Macbeth ruled Scotland as the king for 17 years from 1040 to 1057. However, the accounts in this Scottish Period vary. Furthermore, scholars agree that Macbeth gained the throne by killing King Duncan and lost the throne to his son Malcolm by being killed. Shakespeare heavily searched for these types of histories as well as other sources in the structure of the play. More specifically, he used Raphael Holinshed s Chronicles of England, Scotland, and Ireland published in 1587 but he may have been familiar with George Buchanan s Rerum Scoticarum Historae published a few years back in 1582. Both of these scholars were historians that mainly covered the subject of Macbeth. Moreover, William Shakespeare deviates from these historical sources in his exploration of the main themes of kingship, human nature, and evil. These alterations to the story include portraying the tragic hero as an evil person and portraying Banquo as a sympathetic character. As an example, Holinshed and Shakespeare s illustrations of Duncan is different. Duncan historically, is described as a young, weak, and an ineffective king. On the other hand, William Shakespeare s vision for Duncan is an older, benevolent, influential, and virtuous king, whose murder ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Race is a group of people who have differences and similarities known to be biologically inherited. For an example, when someone asks you to describe a terrorist, most people will describe a person with a hijab or turban around their head. Labeling is the behavior of the self of individuals behaving the way they are being labeled. For an example, if a teenager is being labeled as deviant, they teenager will engage in that deviant behavior. Although the label we give to a group or individual is not permanent due to the change of our society. For an example, we had our very first African American president Barak Obama in the Unites States of America for eight years. labeling leads to discrimination to race and ethnicity groups. Police officers continue to label African Americans and Hispanics as criminals, deviants, dangerous, drug dealers, and so on. Not all labels stay permanent but some tend to stick onto a certain group or individual through time. Racism and Discrimination are often used, yet their meanings differ in their own way through actions and intent. The definition of racism is the prejudice that members of one race is more superior to individuals of other race. Discrimination is a physical behavior or practice distinguishing the differences between things or treating individuals as inferior based on their characteristics. The difference between racism and discrimination is that one definition involves a belief and the other definition involves an action and behavior. For an example, an ... • 6. The Garden Essay Andrew Marvell s The Garden is a poem that through logical progression argues its already established point of view. It is a poem of meditation in a particular place, where the place presented influences the course of this meditative state. Even though filled with the imagery of nature the poem takes a rather pessimistic point of view, where it argues that total isolation from society and harmony with nature as the singular best way of living. Thus, the whole of the poem centers on the idea of wholesome nature in a world without the instruction of mankind. In the first three stanzas, the virtues of the garden are provided through comparison with the trial (and supposed pleasures) of the world of men, stanzas five through seven address ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In effect, in the second stanza, the speaker speaks to the harmony he has found in the garden as he compares the world of men and that of nature: Fair Quiet, have I found thee here, / And Innocence, thy sister dear? (9 10). However, as he does so the speaker seem to fully inhabit neither of these worlds, and his praise of the garden is lessened by doubt in the very stanza that should establish the garden s virtues, the speaker cant even be certain that those virtues exist: Your sacred plant, if here below, / Only among the plants will grown (13 14). The words if and will signify that such was not yet achieved. However, the last two lines of the come back to the central idea of the negation of humanity: Society is all but rude/ To this delicious solitude (15 16) implying that the society is harmful to this perfect harmony of the garden. The argument of the poem in the third and fourth stanzas still remains that of humanity against nature, however this time with an emphasis on sexual passions. Here, the pleasures of human erotic pursuit are found decidedly wanting when compared to the pleasures of the garden. The pleasures compared are of a kind: No white nor red was ever seen / So amorous as this lovely green (17 18). The colors of white and red are emblematic of female beauty (Rumrich, 554.9) ... The Human Papillomavirus ( Hpv ) The Human Papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted disease (STD), is the most common sexually transmitted disease in the United States with about 14 million cases each year. There are two different types of HPV: low risk and high risk. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 90 percent and 80 percent, respectively, of sexually active men and women will be infected with at least one type of HPV at some point in their lives. Around one half of these infections are with a high risk HPV (CDC n.p.). High risk HPV can sometimes cause cancer; however, there is no way of predicting which infected persons could develop cancer or other serious health problems. The most common form of HPV, low risk, causes warts; this type of HPV goes away on its own in most cases (CDC n.p.). A vaccination, proven to prevent against four major stands of HPV, has recently been developed. The vaccination has led to an enormous amount of controversy regarding whether the vaccination should be mandatory. Although the vaccine is new, it has been proven effective in preventing HPV and numerous types of cancer caused by HPV; therefore, it should be mandatory in order to protect today s youth from HPV. Although most HPV cases are not life threating, many believe it is best to get the vaccination. The HPV vaccination has been proven to prevent multiple types of cancer and other effects of the disease. It is recommended that young girls between the ages 11 and 12 ... • 11. Theme Of Mistakes In Romeo And Juliet Every story or piece of writing has more than one theme, some harder to find than others. In the play Romeo and Juliet the most obvious theme seems to be love, but, digging deeper in the play, more less obvious themes become noticeable. Shakespeare was trying to deliver the message of folliness and folly and how Romeo and juliet s love was rushed to quickly. Common sense could have been used to avoid the deaths of the couple and possibly end the family feud. Making mistakes are a natural part of what makes us humans. It is our flaw because no one is perfect, but those that are wise, learn from them. I do not consider a mistake a mistake unless there was no common sense used. Using common sense before making a mistake usually has a better, less harmful, outcome and could be avoided next time it happens. In the play Romeo and Juliet everyone is a subject of foolishness and folly, and neglecting a mistake lead to the unrealized death s of the two protagonists. The main character(s) who embodie the message of foolishness and folly points to Romeo, Tybalt, the Nurse and Friar lawrence and their lack of common sense. Pointing out all of Romeo s foolishness in the play is easy, but it is not always Romeo s fault. Forming is the first stage where people join together for a reason. Our group formed because this class put us together, which was mainly based on the need to fulfill the goal of passing Small Group Communication and doing a service project together. This happened when we filled out the sheets about our skills and whom we would and would not like to work with. We were then all introduced to our new groups in class. Stage two was next for us. This stage is called storming. This is the tension felt in the group. It is fine for a group to have tension as long as it is a healthy balance of helpful and unhelpful tension. There are two different types. The first is primary tension, which is what a group feels when they first meet. That tension usually goes away over time as the group finds a sense of cohesiveness. There is also secondary tension, which consists of the stress and strain of dealing with deadlines, conflicts, and scheduling issues. Our group honestly had a very healthy balance of tension. We all got along from the very first time we met. I even remember us all saying how happy we were that we ended up in The Avengers. This continued on even with deadlines, conflicts, and schedules. Her appearance, however, was very charming. She had beautiful golden hair that landed softly on her back and bluish emerald eyes that glowed when reflected on sunlight. She always wore a black one piece as if attending a funeral, and anyone who had seen her would say that they had a good first impression of her. After Paresse s parents whom she was wholly relying on died, the young woman became homeless and impoverished, since she did not have any inheritance from her parents. Although she was struggling in poverty, Paresse remained idle and did not even think about getting a job or a house. One day, Paresse was wandering around her neighborhood, hoping to find some food to eat. Her charming appearance had disappeared: her smooth golden hair became rough and dirty, and her beautiful emerald eyes seemed to turn into a dull khaki color, due to her stained face. Her black one piece had turned into a chunk of ragged fabric, and she had blisters on her feet since she wore no shoes. While the subject of successful and vital aging can be inspiring and empowering, it undoubtedly requires flexibility and adaptation in response to changes in health and functioning that are quite common as individuals inevitably age. Through formulated theories and suppositions proposed throughout decades in gerontological studies, many agree upon consistencies that exist across chronological aging. However, there are many more individual paths and much heterogeneity among older adults. As a result, gerontologists in the years have incorporated issues such as privileges or disadvantage across the lifespan to better attempt to address some of the diversity among older adults to foster optimal or successful aging. Satisfaction with one s past and present life for example, has been the most commonly proposed definition of successful ageing. Nonetheless, it is also the most commonly investigated. While its components include fortitude, morale, autonomy and independence, self efficacy and overall wellbeing, the outcome of one s development over their lifespan is done so by utilizing past experiences to cope with present circumstances. Gun violence today affects many, and has been highly scrutinized by lawmakers, lobbyists, which has coined pro/anti gun activists. But what are the numbers telling us? Is this really a public health crisis? The American Psychological Association defines firearm violence as taking a number of different forms, including, but not limited to, suicide and suicide attempts, violent conflicts and disputes, intimate partner violence, unintentional deaths and injuries, violent criminal activity, and violent acts while intensely distressed, intoxicated, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the main risks is racial disparities regarding homicide by discharge of firearm. The CDC reported that in 2013 almost 60% of victims of homicide by firearm were black (CDC, 2016). Additionally, as mentioned earlier, white males attribute to only 17.0 deaths by firearms compared to African American males at 31.5 in 2013. This data highlights the overwhelming majority of deaths by guns are members of the African American community. Some social determinants that can decrease the risk of being a victim of gun violence are not simply demonstrated because gun violence is a sensitive subject in America that sparks wide debates on moral, governmental, and various other societal issues. There are many firearms in the United States more than 300 million (Hepburn, Miller, Azrael, Hemenway, 2007) about as many guns as people (APA, 2016) which can be an increased risk factor for committing gun violence, but what about those who are killed? Decreasing their risk is equally as complicated. Reducing access to firearms significantly decreases gun violence (APA, 2016) as does policies like Child Access Prevention (CAP) laws, which hold adults liable for insecure storage of firearms around children, have decreased adolescent suicides and unintentional shootings of children (Webster Starnes, 2000; Webster, Vernick, Zeoli, Manganello, 2004). In addition, ones of low SES that display signs of poverty, socially disorganized neighborhoods, or high crime rates need a sense of community at the institutional setting. The state of shock and bewilderment created leads to the rest of the opening being read in a state of suspense. The reader is confused as the narrative starts seemingly with a crisis though what that causes is not stated. Since the Capulets (Juliet s family) and the Montagues (Romeo s family) had both taken part of an ancient feud against each other, Romeo and Juliet s love for each other is not at all accepted by their families, which causes problems with their marriage. If The Capulets and Montagues put their differences aside, the entire book would have been totally different. Although the number of illegal immigrants is substantially growing on a daily basis, the national health care policies seem to fail in addressing their medical needs. Despite the alluded hope for this patients group within the immigration reform, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) fails to alleviate the burden of their unmet health care needs. Advocates of their rights for health coverage argue that medical ethics and the United States moral obligations necessitate expanding coverage to all population residing within the borders of the country. At the age of 15 her mother committed suicide; she believes that it is her fault because her mother did it after she ran away. I would say that Mariam has living a life full of internal conflict. Mariam is also trying to win her father s, Jalil, love while she is being rejected by him because his wives do not like her. Examine the impact of the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997 on the region s development Since World war II, development has been the most important term used to describe economic, social and political changes in what have come to be known as Third world countries (Zhang, 2003). The Asian financial crisis of 1997 had a major impact on the regions development as it was the end of the East Asian economic miracle, a time that showed staggering economic growth throughout the Asia Pacific. However, despite evidence that the economic development has slowed down within the region, it can be argued that the 1997 crisis encouraged intra regional co operation and collaboration, developing intra regional trade and encouraged the creation of ASEAN ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Garran (1998) argues that most countries affected failed to set up acceptable regulations and supervision that would have allowed capital markets to develop without risky imbalances. He states that countries over borrowed, over invested and over reached themselves . Although it can be argued that the entire region felt the effects of the crisis, some countries suffered more than others. According to Barro (2001) the countries mainly affected include Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand, this is because between July 1997 to early 1998 these countries experienced currency depreciations of more than 50%. In these countries, offshore nominal interest rates reached at least 25% at some point between June 1997 and January 1998. Real per capita GDP fell by 16% in Indonesia, 12% in Thailand, 10% in Malaysia, and 8% in South Korea, and 3% in the Philippines. He argues that China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan were much less affected by the crisis as they experienced depreciations of less than 25%, and nominal interest rates remained below 20%. The crisis resulted in the set back of over 30 years of strong economic and social development in the region, the loss of jobs caused riots, destruction and even death from poverty in the affected countries. • 39. Robert Schumann Essay Robert Alexander Schumann was born in the small riverside town of Zwickau, Saxony, in 1810.The youngest of five children, Robert Schumann was brought up in comfortable, middle class respectability. As a child, he apparently exhibited no remarkable abilities. At the age of six, Robert was sent to the local preparatory school, run by Archdeacon Dohner. He had in fact already begun his education, with the young tutor who gave lessons in exchange for board and lodging at the Schumann home. At the age of seven Robert received his first piano lessons, from Johann Gottfried Kuntzsch, organist at St. Mary s Church, and schoolmaster at the Zwickau Lyceum. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After secret discussions, the engagement was broken off by mutual agreement. Possibly Robert had been kept in the dark about Ernestine s origins. In any event, the affair had a catalytic effect on Robert s music. He had the idea of writing a series of piano pieces based on the letters ASCH; these he later turned into Carnival. He also composed some piano variations on a theme provided by Baron von Fricken. But Robert s friend Schunke had fallen seriously ill. Unable to bear the sight, Robert went back to Zwickau again, only returning to Leipzig in December to negotiate a change of publisher for the Zeitschrift. From the beginning of 1835 the journal was published by the Leipzig firm of JA Barth. Late in 1835 Mendelsson arrived in Leipzig to take over as music director of the Gewandhaus. Still only twenty six, Mendelsson was the director of the age, and Schumann felt an immediate attraction when they met at Wieck s house. Following the newcomer s debut in Leipzig, Schumann wrote praising him in the quot;Letters of an Enthusiast quot; column of his Zeitzcrift. Schumann did however venture to criticise Mendelssohn s use of the baton; he believed that an orchestra should function as a quot;republic quot; and that ridgity should be avoided. At about this time, too, Robert met both ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
