Understanding that a conflict could be good or bad for the group, depending on the type of the conflict, is the first step in managing conflicts for the team, or for the group. It is important for the group leader, and for the entire group, to develop a strategy for managing their conflicts, in order to ensure that the group is bay to stay objectively fixated on their goals, and that the relationship between the members is able to inspire loyalty, collaboration, and the much essential team spirit in all of the members. For this reason therefore, the following is a research paper on managing team conflicts. In writing the research paper, I will read the class course text, and other scholarly sources which will act as the secondary sources of information.
What is a Group Conflict?
Conflict is defined as the process through which, we perceive other people to have acted in a manner that does not safeguard our self-interests. Group conflict refers to such a disagreement when it arises amidst the group members. Formed in order to achieve similar goals, a group refers to an association of typically more than two people, brought together by the need to see a project reach completion, or to achieve certain things which are called goals, and which are the common unifying factor for all the team members.
In order to attain group goals, it is important to have clearly defined objectives, and to have a well-defined means for managing the wrangles that may arise in the group for one reason or another. These wrangles are then called the group conflicts, and they can be dangerous if they are not handled soon enough.
Types of Conflicts
In a group setting, and in typically any other kind of a setting where a conflict can occur, there can be two kinds of conflicts. These are; healthy or unhealthy conflicts (Münster, 2007). These groups of conflicts become an important tool later on, when we are interested in finding a solution for the conflict beign faced. Caused by different reasons, the two kinds of conflicts are different. The healthy kind of conflicts is caused by different approaches to tasks by the team member (Floyd, 2000). This is a healthy conflict since, its solution typically ends up beign beneficial to the team members. It ends up bringing them closer, as they attempt to find solutions to the problem at hand.
On the other hand, an unhealthy conflict is one that arises from personal sources, and which is typically a little bit more dangerous and more difficult to address as compared to the healthy kind of a conflict. With an unhealthy conflict, it is more difficult to contain it since, it requires addressing issues to do with the personal nature of the people, and motivating them to be more trusting in the other people (Simons, 2000). A problem is a dilemma with no apparent solution, an undesirable situation without a way out, a question that cannot currently be answered, the difference between the current situation and a desired state, or a situation team members must manage effectively (Pokras, 1995). The problem can come from the environment or arise from the team. Problems often first surface for a team as symptoms that cause undesirable effects.
In a work environment, a problem for many teams is simply how to complete their tasks or assignments. A team’s assignment contains two primary problems: (1) determining the nature of the assignments and how to complete them, and (2) managing problems and obstacles encountered when performing them. These obstacles may be technical issues, conflicting viewpoints, or interpersonal conflicts.
The perfect way to solve a problem is to define it and then decide how to solve it. This may seem obvious, but the biggest problem teams have is generating solutions without first understanding the problem. Defining and evaluating the problem is the most difficult step for teams to perform.
The first step in problem solving is to discuss and document individual views until everyone agrees on the nature of the problem (Pokras, 1995). Teams are often given ill-defined problems and undeveloped criteria for evaluating them. Teams need to challenge the definitions of the problems,.

Creativity is paramount to innovation, and, with the exponentially increasing pace and complexity of the world,

The purpose of this qualitative study was to understand the group dynamic in PBL task delegation and technology skill fluency through the language of its participants. The researcher collected themes, experiences, and decisions depicted in the language of high school students as they negotiated a final project using computer technology tools to create mobile applications for their high school community.
Often in groups, teachers are not always part of the exchange of learning and necessary communication between students to complete tasks and negotiate ideas. This research assists teachers in developing strategies to better organize and guide groups in a PBL curriculum with technology so students can more effectively address the needs of projects independently.
In this research, the PBL curriculum promoted conversation and communication for delegated tasks amongst students and developing a sense of familiarity and cohesiveness in student centered groups. Scenarios which required the management of group members to complete the tasks required in the project were also prevalent. Group members shared critical vocabulary related to technology and the process of the project. Additional benefits included group approaches with the consideration of continually improving the project and also an increased awareness and appreciation for the technology used in the project.
The final mobile applications of the groups represent the combination of group process, technology, and addressing the authentic question in the PBL curriculum. Students were able to develop authentic projects which were the results of a variety of technology based skills, project management and conceptualization.

The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!

In precedenza ha lavorato a migrazioni e corsi di formazione su LibreOffice per diverse amministrazioni pubbliche e privati. - 2. Module 4 Assignment 1 2 I feel that the collaboration approach is the conflict resolution approach in a variety of situations. The collaboration approach includes a “Preference for ideally balancing people and task concerns during conflict”.( Zalabak, P. S. ,2006) I feel as this approach would allow me to understand the dynamics and context of the conflict in my organization. Often I feel that conflict in the organization begins with unclear communication betweens different employees and organizational leaders. “Conflict tactics can be described as communication behaviors that attempt to move the conflict toward escalation, reduction, maintenance at the present level, or avoidance. ( Zalabak, P. S. ,2006) Using the collaborative approach I feel that the tactic of bringing indivuals together and sorting out issues in a open communicative ways helps to repress more escalaltion of an issue and creates a new dialogue which builds listening skills and a feeling of understanding. I believe a win win situation can usually be reached in one format or another. I feel that this communication style best suits me because I feel as though I can be a good listener who will look at each scenario as fairly as possible and try to resolve issues. I believe this approach is also more effective than avoidance or compromise in that it looks to make decisions based on a collective effort of those involved in the conflict. I feel as though the avoidance style is not assertive enough for me. “The goal is to delay. It is appropriate to use this style when there are issues of low importance, to reduce tensions, or to buy time.”( Collaboration Toolbox ,2001) This approach may be good when tensions are running high and things need to settled down more before a direct approach is taken.
- 3. Module 4 Assignment 1 3 The approach which I believe could next serve my needs is the accommodating approach. This approach is similiar to the collaborative but “is low assertiveness and high cooperativeness; the goal is to yield” ( Collaboration Toolbox ,2001). This approach would probbly be a back up solution to my original goal of the collaborative approach. The option to yield may be the only one.
