A leader is one who is committed to taking individuals along towards the fruition of a certain mission and creates an environment in which people can be actively involved. There is no magic in the way in which inspirational leaders operate. However an inspirational leader is considered more effective and efficient than a good leader. So, who is an inspirational leader? What are the qualities that set a good leader apart from an inspirational leader? How can a good leader be transformed into an inspirational leader? Here is presentation that answers all these questions.

Preparing the team to work together
Train the members on how to work together as a team
Design activities that will bring the team members together and help them know each other.
Build good relationship and trust among the team members.
Teach the team members about different styles of working together and conflict resolution skills.
Every team goes through a series of developmental stages as they set out to accomplish a particular task. Working in a team needs good planning and a lot of preparation in order to successfully accomplish a particular project or task . As a team leader, it is very important to prepare the team to work together before they embark on a particular task. The first thing I will do is to train the team members on the importance of teamwork and how to work together as a group. I will start by explaining the task ahead of them and make it clear to each team member that they are expected to work together to successfully finish the task. I will design and put in place activities that will help them to get to know each other so that they can learn to accommodate each other before they start working. I will build trust and good relationship among the team members by organizing in-person meetings and activities which will bring the members together and warm up their relationships. I will coach the team members about the various work styles that applies to team work and how resolve any conflicts that may arise in the course of work so as to prepare them to work and face any challenge together as a team (Maginn, 2004).
2
Training and development activities that build trust and productivity
Encourage open communication among the team members.
Hold trust building exercises to enhance team spirit.
Ensure the team has a shared goal and commitment.
Encourage regular interaction among the members.
Institute training programs to build competence of the members.
Trust is a driving force for the cooperation of members of any given team and therefore building trust between the team members is the first step to ensuring good performance the team. In order to ensure there is trust among the team members, I will encourage them to communicate openly and be willing to share ideas and information amongst themselves so that they can empower each other to work together as a team. I will hold trust building exercises to enhance team spirit which is a very important ingredient for the good performance of a team. I will make sure that every team member shares the common goal of the team and establish total commitment towards achievement of the goal. I will ensure that everybody in the team understands what is expected of them and what needs to be done at both team and personal levels. I will also encourage regular interaction between the members which will encourage them to share their experiences and have respect fo ...

Introduction
Team Development Model
From a personal perspective, I will use the forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning model of team development. Wright (2013) indicates that Bruce Tuckman developed this team development model and maintained that the five stages were important for team growth. Also, the phases can enable teams to face up to problems, to tackle and solve problems, to plan work, as well as to deliver results. During the forming stage, members get acquainted with one another and understand the scope of a project. They establish ground rules by finding out acceptable behaviors with respect to interpersonal relations and the project. The storming phase is marked with high level of internal conflict while the norming stage is characterized by close relationship development and group cohesiveness. Performing stage is associated with fully functional and acceptable team that aims to accomplish project goals. During adjourning phase, a team prepares for its disbandment.

Models of Team Development
5 Stages of Team Development
Forming
Storming
Norming
Performing
Adjourning
The Forming Phase, this is the initial phase. Teammates are introduced and take the time to understand the scope of the project they are undertaking. During this phase, ground rules are established, and acceptable behaviors are found. The Storming Phase, the second phase is known as the Storming Phase. This phase marks when defined roles are established for each team members. This phase is marked with a high level of internal conflict. The Norming Phase, the third phase in series is called the Norming Phase. During the Norming phase, the team is characterized by developing close relationships and working towards group cohesiveness. The Performing Phase, the fourth phase is the Performing Phase. The Performing phase is associated with the team being fully acceptable and functional to accomplish any goals within the project. The Adjourning Phase, the final stage in this model is the Adjourning Phase. In this final phase, a team prepares for adjourning or disbandment. If a team is able to form, storm, norm, and perform in the ways identified above, they are sure to benefit immensely and grow as a unit.
2
Preparation for the Team
First, I will establish ground rules for the team’s operations. To be effective, team members must be clear about how they work together. A team must have a common identity, share same values, goals, plus objectives. Great communication skills are required to instill that each member of the team is well informed. Ground rules will provide guidance for needed behaviors and expectations. Once the ground rules have been established and agreed upon, a team will define each member’s roles and responsibilities. Decision making is also an important aspect of teamwork. With this in mind, team members will determine decision making process and conflict resolution approach. Moreover, I will outline the tea ...

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. INTRODUCTION
When working in a team, each individual brings something different to the project. Collaboration allows for members
to bounce ideas off of each other, share life experiences, and get more out of an assignment together than individually.
Members of the team learn to value each others ideas, provide constructive criticism and lend guidance where needed.
Team collaboration is an essential and very rewarding experience as it not only helps with academic success but social
interactions.
3. THE VALUE OF TEAM COLLABORATION FOR ACADEMIC
SUCCESS
Strategies we can use to ensure that all team members are
contributing and collaboration appropriately is by:
Setting goals and ground rules
Finding and laying ground rules in the beginning can
help detour a team away from conflicts
Work on the same goals
Good communication
4. STRATEGIES IN USING CONFLICT RESOLUTION AS
OPPORTUNITIES FOR LEARNING
A communication strategy we could use if a team member is
not contributing and collaborating is by making sure the
team members reach out to them. We can use written
communication through our learning group discussions or
email to ensure they are getting the information they need in
order to contribute.
There are times we may have to deal with team conflict
between team members. One of the best ways to deal with
team conflict is head-on.
One way we can help our team members when there is
conflict is by asking them if they need help with something.
They may just be confused on something. If that is the case,
we could share what we know and help them out.
In order for us to have an effective and successful team, we
all need to communicate and contribute equally.
5. UTILIZING EACH TEAM MEMBER'S LEARNING STYLE AS AN
OPPORTUNITY TO STRENGTHEN THE TEAM DYNAMIC
There are seven learning styles that are indicative to people’s characteristics
Visual – spatial, images, pictures
Aural - auditory-musical, sound, rhythm
Verbal - linguistic, speech, writing
Physical - kinesthetic, touch, sensations
Logical - mathematical, logic, reasoning
Social – interpersonal, groups, work with others
Solitary – intrapersonal, work alone, drive yourself
Many people learn and retain information in different ways. Recognizing one’s
style can possibly increase their range of learning. The team dynamic can be
strengthened when a team member has knowledge of how they learn best. This
information can contribute to new ideas and effective team collaboration.
(Lepi, K. (2012). The 7 Styles of Learning: Which works for you? Edudemic.)
6. CRUCIAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS FOR AN EFFECTIVE
LEARNING TEAM
Working within a learning team shows that communication skills are crucial
to the productivity of the group. Some categories for communication may
include:
Listening – listening to ideas and team instruction to ensure accuracy
Feedback/Follow through - offering suggestions and responding to team
questions or concerns
Constructive Criticism – being able to offer respectful suggestions to
enhance quality of work
Writing – concise correspondence for clear understanding
7. THE PURPOSE OF USING THE LEARNING TEAM CHARTER AS A TOOL
TO REINFORCE TEAM COLLABORATION WHILE CONTRIBUTING TO
TEAM SUCCESS
The team charter is a great place for group discussions and
many types of outlines. Utilizing the team charter helps to
alleviate misunderstandings and confusion amongst the team.
Being able to revisit information that was shared with the
group on an earlier date, helps keep the group aware of the
proper deadlines. All of these areas help with the success of
the team. Collaborative/Cooperative Learning exists and is
achievable when groups come together and show an interest
in completing a particular task.
(Carpenter & Hanson, 2011, p. 270: Magney, 1996, p.565)
8. THE PURPOSE OF USING THE LEARNING TEAM CHARTER AS A TOOL
TO REINFORCE TEAM COLLABORATION WHILE CONTRIBUTING TO
TEAM SUCCESS
Effective strategies that contribute to team success:
Cooperation/Collaboration: Establishing a mutual
support system among group members to meet the
criteria of the projected assignment.
Agendas and Tasks: Forming a clear
understanding of the project deadlines and the
tasks of all team members should be
recognized at the start of the assignment.
9. THE PURPOSE OF USING THE LEARNING TEAM CHARTER AS A TOOL
TO REINFORCE TEAM COLLABORATION WHILE CONTRIBUTING TO
TEAM SUCCESS
Collaborative/Cooperative Learning Results:
• Develop leadership skills and increase comfort level with working in teams
• Share ideas and seek information in an open forum
• Create collaboration and consensus in making decisions as a group
• Develop critical thinking skills
(Goings, & Johnson, 2011, p. 78: Magney, 1996, p. 567)
10. EFFECTIVE COMPONENTS NECESSARY FOR TEAM SUCCESS
There are several components teams may use for their team to be successful. According to Janet Snow and
Christopher Mulrooney there are five strategies for success: 1) Establish a clear, compelling direction 2) Create an
appropriate structure 3) Select the right people 4) Support the team 5) Provide opportunities for development.
11. EFFECTIVE COMPONENTS NECESSARY FOR TEAM SUCCESS
When establishing a clear compelling direction,
everyone needs to decide which direction the group
will go. It may be easier for some teams to appoint a
“team leader”. If the direction is not clear, a
“leadership vacuum” is created.
When in a virtual group, it is important to set
deadlines before the actual project deadline. This is to
ensure balance in the project, check on spelling and
grammatical errors. Updates via phone conference
and email also work well. “When you commit to
something for the group, always deliver”.
12. EFFECTIVE COMPONENTS NECESSARY FOR TEAM SUCCESS
Select team members, if possible, based on their
strengths, expertise or skill set .
Supporting the team may include lending guidance to
a team member who may be misunderstanding an
assignment. Calling, emailing or face to face
interaction if the team member stays close.
There are several ways to provide opportunities for
development. Team members may switch the roles of
the assignment. Everyone gets a chance to experience
different areas in the assignment. Encourage and
compliment team members on how well their portion
of the project is going.
13. MOTIVATIONAL STRATEGIES TO INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY
There are many different motivational strategies to increase
productivity within a group. Being a team player is very
essential to productivity. According to Leadership Management
Australasia, there are 5 key motivational components to
increasing team productivity. Each component is set in place to
help each team member achieve one optimum goal successfully.
The five motivational components listed by the LMA are as follows:
1. Trusting each other
2. Creating a effective reward system
3. Giving positive recognition
4. Offering career advancement
5. Exhibiting happiness
14. CONCLUSION
In conclusion, successful collaboration and team dynamics are very important to achieving success within a team.
There are a variety of different things that each team member can bring to the learning team. The key is combining
each team members strengths and incorporating it into the group work. Open communication and trusting each other
to do their part will increase productivity to create a power team. Incorporating each strategy and dynamic will make
the learning team stronger.

Editor's Notes
In this slide we discuss the value of team collaboration for academic success. One strategy we can use to ensure that all team members are contributing and collaboration appropriately is by setting goals and ground rules. The "Guide to Completing the University of Phoenix Learning Team Charter" reminds us that finding and laying ground rules in the beginning can help detour a team away from conflicts. This strategy could be helpful in many areas. Once we are working toward the same goals and are on the same page, we can be more effective as a team. We also need to make sure we include all team members in our communication. It seems like good communication is the key to working together.
In this slide we discuss the strategies in using conflict resolution as opportunities for learning. A communication strategy we could use if a team member is not contributing and collaborating is by making sure the team members reach out to them. We can use written communication through our learning group discussions or email to ensure they are getting the information they need in order to contribute. One way we could do that is by asking them if they need help with something. They may just be confused on something. If that is the case, we could share what we know and help them out. We can let them know that we feel they can offer more than what they are offering. I think that there are positive ways to address lack of contributing.
Understanding the seven styles of learning can be used as an opportunity to strengthen the team dynamic. Each style has it’s own unique characteristics that allow the team to view the task from a different prospective. Some team members maybe visual learners where they look at the physical aspects of the assignment and another member can be verbal, looking at the assignment as it relates to the wording and text. Utilizing and identifying your style can help with team collaboration. Do you know what your style of learning is?
Crucial communication skills within a learning team are vital to the group’s productivity. Making sure that you exercise your ability to listen, provide feedback, constructive criticism and offer clear concise writing can help produce an effective outcome. Learning how to communicate with your team should be a task that is established in the beginning, prior to completing any assignment. This will ensure that the project is conducted one time and in a productive manner.
Section five discusses the purpose of utilizing the Learning Team charter as a tool to reinforce team collaboration/cooperation while contributing to team success. One strategy we can use to ensure that all team members are contributing and collaborating appropriately is by setting goals and ground rules. Cooperative learning is achievable by promoting group and individual responsibility, interdependence, having an interest in the coursework, and by having the motivation to complete the task (Carpenter & Hanson, 2011; Magney, 1996).
Team cooperation/collaboration are necessary in moving any team forward successfully.
Within the utilization of the Team Charter, it is important that each team member is given a clear representation of the expectations of team collaboration and when it comes to contributing to the team’s success. The following must be discussed:
Cooperation: the team will need to have cooperation/collaboration among group members to meet the criteria of the projected assignment. Utilizing a team charter will enhance the effectiveness of cooperative measures to fulfill the expected duties.
Agendas and Tasks: Having a clear understanding of the project deadlines should be established at the start of the assignment. As well as the role of the team members to successful complete the tasks in a timely manner.
When you understand Collaborative/Cooperative learning, you communicate the vision and identify the goals and objectives, Promote team collaboration, and perpetuate the teams paradigm that acknowledges the teams capacity to achieve the set goals.
The results that comes from understanding Cooperative learning will help develop leadership skills and increase the comfort level while working in teams. You will be able to share ideas and seek information in an open forum setting and create collaboration and a consensus when making decisions as a team. You will also be able to develop critical thinking skills, which are very well needed when working as a team (Goings, & Johnson, 2011, p. 78: Magney, 1996, p. 567).
“A leadership vacuum is when one member rush to fill the project with their own individual priorities and goals.” (Mulrooney, Snow 2002). When this vacuum occurs it causes conflict of interest within the group and causes the assignment to be unorganized.
Communicating with your group and getting updates about the project really helps, especially when you set a deadline before the deadline. It gives you and your team members time to analyze each others work, correct any errors, add or take away any information.
When supporting your team members and lending guidance, it is important to understand what your team member doesn’t understand. Look for ways to not only help your team member with the current assignment but future assignments as well. Challenge team members to think out side of the box when working on assignments and go beyond the expectations.
