Editor's Notes

  • #3 Brainstorming is such a effective tool that can be implemented in many aspects of our lives. Many good ideas have been very clever and sudden. Throughout our lives we brainstorm weather we realize it or not. Understanding how and when to brainstorm will increase the chances of a positive outcome.
  • #4 By beginning with individual brainstorming you will not have to worry about what other individuals might think about what your off the wall ideas are. You can be totally free like as a child’s imagination no boundaries. In a group brainstorming session you will have many more ideas generated and be able to really focus in on a particular issue and pick it apart to come up with many different alternatives to conquer the issue being discussed. Thinking outside the box will help to bring out repetitiveness and routine that could disallow effectiveness to take place.
  • #7 Having the issue thought of and presented before the brainstorming session begins gives the participants time to think about issue prior to the session. While in the session the use of time will be effective, because the issue is the focal point. Which in turn allows the problem to be thought about instead of thought of.
  • #8 Looking for new ways to come up with a new idea or cure a problem can be hard when only a high level executive or vice president is trying to do on their own. Bringing other people in form all levels within the organization will allow many ideas to start flowing. Will also help to create synergism for a company by making all the people involved to feel that their opinion is valued.
