very difficult t to meat this demand with only indigenous natural gas. About 80% of the power generation in
the country is now gas based. Therefore diversification of fuel has become indispensible it has been
envision 2021 that 53% of the power generation will be coal based by year 2021. The worldwide scenario
shows that, Coal is the ultimate fuel for future. Bangladesh is very lucky that it has got significant but
almost untapped high quality coal resource. Five coal fields in the country contain 3.3 billion metric tons
coal. Recently rate of coal production from Barapukuria are increased significantly due to application of
modern coal extracting method, LTCC. Coal to Synthesis gas conversion, is an emerging technology to
wide the application area of coal and commercially proved technology worldwide. The paper gives an
overview of the current state of coal scenario and natural gas scenario in Bangladesh. Here we discuss the
principles of coal to syngas conversion technology and aside from a brief introduction to 5 process
methods for conversion of coal to Synthesis Natural Gas (SNG). The Steam-Oxygen Gasification,
Hydrogasification, Catalytic Steam Gasification, Underground Steam-Oxygen Gasification, Underground
Hydrogasification processes are discussed with the help of process flow diagram. This paper also
summaries the present scenario of Syngas production worldwide. Finally we propose a coal based syngas
infrastructure, where coal is converted to syngas, then processed to make Synthesis Natural Gas (SNG),
then it transmitted via dedicated pipeline or injected into existing natural gas pipeline to the different types
of user like Household, Thermal Power Plant, Brick Field, Ceramics & Glass Industry and any kind of
thermal process industry. This proposed technology is design to reduce the dependency on natural gas.

Electrical power is the most widely used form of power in the industrialized countries. In Nigeria the epileptic pattern of electricity supply has affected every aspect of our economy and therefore required a strong political will and commitment on the part of Government to tackle. The solution to this problem lies in identifying and harnessing the abundant reserve energy resources available in various locations all over the country. This paper thus dwelt on identifying various sources of reserve energy potentials that abound in Nigeria which when harnessed and deployed appropriately will be sufficient to provide for both immediate and future electric power need of the country. The approach deployed in the study include the review of available statistical data of Nigeria reserve energy resources; identify the scale of its availability, location and the realizable amount of electric power from such reserve. The results show that the proven and estimated reserved energy resources of coal, natural gas and new hydro potentials could contribute a total of 96,079.40MW to the grid system, and when added to the existing installed electric power generation capacity of 12,066MW will give a total of 108,145.40MW.

Saudi Arabia has proven reserves equivalent to 78.6 times its annual consumption. This means it has about 79 years of gas left (at current consumption levels and excluding unproven reserves).
- Saudi Arabia consumes 3,858,868 million cubic feet (MMcf) of natural gas per year as of the year 2017.
- Saudi Arabia ranks 7th in the world for natural gas consumption, accounting for about 2.9% of the world's total consumption of 132,290,211 MMcf.
- Saudi Arabia consumes 116,578 cubic feet of natural gas per capita every year (based on the 2017 population of 33,101,179 people), or 319 cubic feet per capita per day.
- Saudi Arabia produces 4,231,796.45 million cubic feet (MMcf) of natural gas per year (as of 2015) ranking 9th in the world.
- Natural Gas Storage Capacity in Saudi Arabia:
1- In the high natural gas production case: The transport limits of gas are constraining for the power system over the years in the summer. Thus, we do see investment in renewable power, even when gas is inexpensive. For this reason, natural gas storage facilities store up to 37 trillion BTU (36 Bcf) of natural gas in the early to mid-2020s; these facilities are built in the western and southern regions of the country, which do not have mature gas infrastructure.
2- In the low natural gas production case: The model results show that storage in the low production case is primarily built in the eastern, central, and western regions of Saudi Arabia. The levels of gas storage translate to a capacity of about 1900 trillion BTU (1832 Bcf) nationally by 2022.

We study the link between the evolving age structure of the working population and unemployment. We build a large new Keynesian OLG model with a realistic age structure, labor market frictions, sticky prices, and aggregate shocks. Once calibrated to the European economy, we quantify the extent to which demographic changes over the last three decades have contributed to the decline of the unemployment rate. Our findings yield important implications for the future evolution of unemployment given the anticipated further aging of the working population in Europe. We also quantify the implications for optimal monetary policy: lowering inflation volatility becomes less costly in terms of GDP and unemployment volatility, which hints that optimal monetary policy may be more hawkish in an aging society. Finally, our results also propose a partial reversal of the European-US unemployment puzzle due to the fact that the share of young workers is expected to remain robust in the US.
