Climate is defined as the pattern of weather in an area over many years. It is determined by factors like latitude, proximity to large bodies of water, ocean currents, mountains, and urbanization. Climate types are classified using Koppen's system which examines temperature, precipitation, and vegetation. Organisms adapt both structurally and behaviorally to survive in different climates. Climate can change over both short and long periods due to seasonal changes, phenomena like El Niño, variations in atmospheric composition, solar radiation levels, and shifts in Earth's orbit and axis. Current climate change is attributed to increased greenhouse gases from human activities like burning fossil fuels and deforestation.
