Claim Your Voice - Presentation of the results of the campign for VET students

  • 1. Evaluation of the campaign OBESSU Council of Members – December, 8th 2013 – Brussels, Belgium 1
  • 2. Timeline Dec 11 • Internal launch of the campaign at the COMEM/7thESSC «New Skills for new Schools», Oslo Jan 12 •Survey among members: «What is VET really like?» May 12 • Presenting the campaign for the EU Commission’s Unit on VET 2
  • 3. 3 10th May 12 •The campaign website www.obessu.org/VET goes viral! 16th May 12 • External launch of the campaign at YOFEST in front at the European parliament 14th July 12 •The participants of the OBESSU conference in Copenaghen Claimed their Voice 14-16th Sep 12 •The first meeting of the VET working group meeting in Lisbon, Portugal
  • 4. 4 Oct 12 •The project for YOUVET training is accepted 1-3th Dec 12 • VET working group meets in Rome to set YOUVET agenda 11.02 – 6.03 2013 •YOUVET online Training! 7.03 – 12.03 2013 •YOUVET onsite training in Brussels
  • 5. 5 14-17.06 2013 • The WG VET meeting in Amsterdam to evaluate the progress after YOUVET 2-3.07 2013 • OBESSU takes part as an observer to the Advisory Commettee of Vocational training (ACVT) Fall 2013 • The WG runs a survey for the Member organisations to map their involvement in VET field. 3-6.12 2013 • Last evaluation meeting of the WG in London
  • 6. Evaluation of each outcome 6 Based on the objectives of the initial concept paper of the campaign: 1. Encourage Member organisations to work on VET 2. Raise awareness and respect of VET 3. Value VET as a valid educational path/option 4. Make VET more attractive 5. Making OBESSU a VET stakeholder in Europe

  • 9. 1.2) Outcomes Improved knowledge on national and European policies Concrete campaigning and lobbying tools More member organisations working on VET 9

  • 12. 2.2) Outcomes Very hard to notice Increased awareness of Member organisations in the fields of VET 12
  • 13. 3) Value VET as a valid educational path/option 13
  • 14. 3.1) Outcomes Considerable loss of prejudice in OBESSU VET students and student unions bring additional value to the internal discussions National campaign and actions on the topic 14
