Who produced the Guide? • FEANTSA, the European Federation of National Organisations working with the Homeless coordinated the production of the Guide • Funding from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation • An Advisory Board of experts from different disciplines and countries supported the creation of written and audio-visual materials. • The Guide was discussed by additional experts in a range of focus groups involving practitioners and service users.

- 6. What’s the Guide? • The Guide is a resource about Housing First in Europe. • The Guide is the first European resource of its kind. As Housing First has taken off in Europe, a growing demand has emerged for knowledge and expertise. • Until now, much of the available material has come from North America. • There was a need for practical guidance bringing together existing knowledge and experience on doing Housing First in European contexts.

Sustainability • Idea of an Institute to support future actions using the guide as a basis for building a European learning community on Housing First in Europe • Last proposal on the table is the Housing First Hub Europe expanding beyond training and coaching • 3 strands: Practice, Research and Policy • Funding: Y-Foundation, SNF mainly but with collaboration of the members of the Advisory Board • Activities – Starting with the transformation of the guide into a practical training course, the development and launch of a master class on advocacy around Housing First and the development of Housing First Faculty. – Multiannual work programme

- 1) It has been designed to explain what Housing First is and how it actually works in a range of European contexts. It sets out the core principles of Housing First and shows how these are implemented in different settings. 3) It complements similar manuals developed in the US (Tsemberis 2010) and Canada (Canadian Housing First Toolkit).
- 3) It can also be relevant for other people working in related sectors such as health and housing; national and local policy-makers; researchers; people with experience of homelessness and other stakeholders.

Read: a chapter of the Guide 6 chapters, one for very unit (written by Nicholas Pleace based on the comments of the Advisory Board) Watch videos, presentations and other materials We have also have been filming in 6 different cities in Europe (Newcastle and Glasgow -Changing Lives and Turning Point Scotland-) One introductory video, one or two clips in every unit, other materials like individual project fiches One test for every unit

Belgian platform, for example, called housing first network: Using the core principles of the Guide to develop their work Feantsa organizing study visits for them to Copenhaguen/ Odense (Denmark) for exchange learning
