Introducing question showers using #foschat as an exemplarSue Beckingham
A Twitter Question Shower is a virtual meeting or gathering on Twitter to discuss a common topic. The upside down tweetchat lasts one hour and will be formed by participants showering each other with questions and responding to each other's. It is chaotic and messy but also great fun and enables connected thinking with others.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

Ci350 twitter assignment
1. For CI350, we had to pick four Twitter accounts from a video that we were interested in
and follow them. All of the accounts that were mentioned in the video were educationally based
in some way or another. The four that I chose were David Truss, Eric Sheninger, Tom Altepeter,
and Jerry Blumengarten. The first of these, Truss, is a high school principal that implements days
that he calls ‘#nooffice days’. These are days that he is out of his office for the entire day,
visiting classrooms and being active in the school. Sheninger is another principal. He questions a
lot of current educational practices, which is a good thing. Altepeter is an assistant principal that
tweets about social justice and just mind opening things in general. Most of the stuff that he
tweets tends to be revolving around quotes about social justice. Blumengarten is a retired
educator that answers questions on Twitter. Anything that you may have questions about you can
get his opinion on. I included some screen shots of tweets from the accounts that I liked in order
to give the reader a better idea of what they tweet about.
David Truss is my favorite of the accounts so far. The tweets that he sends out are great.
The one that I posted a picture of is a picture of a pencil with different parts featuring different
kind of educators. The lead is the ‘leaders’, which are described as peoples that are open to
mastering new forms of education so that their students will benefit as much as they can. The last
label are the ‘erasers’, which do everything that they can in order to not only keep new
technology out of schools, but take away technology that has been there for years. I thought that
this animation really fit with a few of the discussions that we had in class about teachers and the
educational tools that we learned about. Another thing that I really like about Truss are his days
that he stays out of his office for the entire day. The visibility is great for him, not only because it
gives him an opportunity to see how the faculty are doing, but also because it gives students
2. more of a chance to get to know their principal, which is something that is missing from modern
schools in my opinion.
Eric Sheninger is another principal that is highly visible on Twitter. Most of the tweets
that he sends out are links to articles about technology that can be used in the classroom or new
classroom strategies. He is really on top of anything modern for classroom use, which is great.
The tweets that I included on the Wiki interested me, but the one that really interested me was
the one about QR codes. I just thought that it was really cool to see something that we had talked
about in class being talked about someone that is thought so highly of in education.
Tom Altepeter is an assistant principal in a middle school. First of all, I would like to
point out that his Twitter account has the best picture out of all of them, hands down. Just look at
how epic that hair is. The majority of his tweets are about social justice, which I gave an example
of on the Twitter page of my Wiki. I like that he is as passionate about equality. I think the world
would be a much better place if more people took a stand like this man is doing.
Finally, there is Jerry Blumengarten. He is an educator that spends most of his time on
Twitter just trying to keep people informed. Out of the accounts that I followed from the video,
this one was my least favorite. It isn’t that he does not tweet useful information, because he does.
His feed just seemed to be a little harder to get through than the other three. Like I said,
everything he tweets is quite useful and applicable in the classroom.
The thing that I noticed about all of these accounts is that the majority of the tweets that
they produce are links to articles. I think this is the real potential in education for Twitter. If a
teacher finds an article that they really like that brings a new idea to the table or sees something
about a new type of technology or anything like that, they can simply post the link in a tweet
3. with a couple of words saying what it is. Then, any colleague that follows them can access this
article as soon as they see it. This will make the spreading of ideas much faster and way less
painless, which will only improve the education that kids are getting.
