@web20classroom
Steven W. Anderson is an educator and an advocate for use of many different types
of technology in the classroom. He has even won Edublogs twitterer of the year. I
found his twitter to be infectiously positive. It seems like every other day or so he
was tweeting something about “Be awesome today”. Many of his tweets were also
sharing different real life examples of technology not only being used in the
classroom but being used successfully. He also uses his twitter to share new and
different technologies that can be used. Some of the time he shows a new way to use
an old technology to get more people to use it. Another thing that he uses his twitter
for is promoting edchats to get more people therefore ideas and discussions
involved.
@cybraryman1
Jerry Blumengarten has claimed to be taking on the daunting task of cataloging the
internet for teachers as well as students. From what I can tell he seems to be doing a
pretty good job. He is very active on his twitter, tweeting multiple times a day. Many
of his tweets contain links to other educational websites. Others are promoting
edchats, of which he happens to be a moderator. He also takes the time to promote
his website that is dedicated to furthering education. This twitter feed is also full of
teaching tips that are very simple but might be overlooked easily in the busyness of
a real classroom. He also seems to be very friendly and willing to help. In the brief
time I have followed him he has replied to and tweeted at many different people.
@kylepace
Kyle Pace is seemingly passionate about making sure that students are not the only
ones that are learning. Teachers must learn too for the classroom to progress. Most
of his tweets recently have been promoting edcampKC. He tweets frequently about
new technology coming to schools, such as new computers or software programs.
He also regularly shares different articles about teaching practices. He is constantly
promoting sharing of different methods of teaching. Nearly all of the information on
his page is geared to helping the teacher help the student instead of the student
directly. He encourages teacher to be lifelong learners. That is one of the best ways
to help students. He also encourages teachers to give students a voice through
technology. Although most of his posts are based on education, occasionally he
tweets something personal that has little to do with the classroom. This makes him
seem more relatable and plays in his favor in my opinion.
@tomaltepeter
Tom Altepeter is currently a principal at a middle school. His twitter is full of
different inspiring and eye opening quotes mostly. Some of his posts are you tube
videos. Others are links to articles. The majority of his tweets are based on or about
morality. He seems to be especially passionate about everyone being treated
equally. All I could think of reading all of his tweets is that he is a large supporter
and promoter of character education. He also seems to use his twitter for personal
use instead of just promoting education.
