NETWORKING &
COLLABORATING ON A
GLOBAL SCALE
My PLN of Choice: Twitter
 Here is a screenshot of my Twitter which I use for my

Personal Learning Network!
 I had never used Twitter before EDU 210 so it has
been a new experience for me!

Follow me on
Twitter @akkbeard
My PLN Progress:
 At the beginning of the semester I started with zero

followers and I wasn’t following anyone yet either.
 As time went on I started following more people who
were education-oriented and gained a few followers
myself!
 Check out the next slide for some screenshots that
illustrate my involvement on twitter, my PLN
platform!

Overall Thoughts on PLNs:
 At first, the concept of a PLN confused me and I was getting bogged

down in the many definitions. After utilizing my Twitter and getting
more involved in the education community online I have realized
there are so many benefits to a having a PLN and keeping it and
regularly updated.
 My Twitter is now filled with educationally minded individuals and
organizations that provide access to all types of information
pertaining to k-12 learning
 Twitter now provides me with an endless amount of educational
support, news, trends and ideas and I can personally connect with
the people who are providing me with all of this great information
through tweets, re-tweets and replies.
 I am now more connected than ever with education-oriented people
and even have international contacts which helps me understand
education on a more global scale!
