Put the title of the document in bold so I will know which documents you read. For example, you might have read selections from the

. Relate the document to the events in the chapter.
I also encourage you to write about pictures, maps, or other features you find in the reading.
You do not have to write about every chapter. Usually you get the best results if you take on one or two topics each time you turn in the journal. It helps if you label the topics. You may use any style, but please divide your writing into paragraphs.
You can earn 50 points for two and a half solid pages (double spaced) of quality writing. You are welcome to write more and you can earn up to 60 points for each time it is assigned. I mainly consider how much you have thought about topics in the reading and how you use the documents or other evidence available in the chapters.

There are 20 students in the 4th grade class with a variety of backgrounds. The teacher will teach students about the differences between the Modern and Ancient Olympics over the course of a day using various methods to accommodate different learning styles. Students will create PowerPoints, read blogs, and use QR codes and websites to research and learn. They will be assessed through class discussions, group presentations, and peer evaluations of each group's PowerPoint. The teacher will circulate and ask questions to check understanding during the lesson.

Students will create posters in Photoshop combining images of the symbols and complete a webquest on Olympic symbols while the teacher assesses their understanding.

This reflection discusses a desktop publishing assignment using wikispaces. The student found creating a wikispaces page to be simple but found the overall assignment difficult. They enjoyed learning how to present information on wikispaces and seeing how students could use wikis to express their ideas in an engaging way, rather than using traditional book and pencil methods. The student sees potential in using wikis to present health lessons to students and allow them to contribute their own wikis.

- 1. Zachary Sissel CI 350 WebQuest Word Assignment Title: Which Olympic Ring are you?! Description: 5 Groups of students. Each group are assigned one of the five different Olympic Rings. Grade Level: 3rd to 5th Curriculum: Social Studies Introduction: It is important to understand Olympic Symbols to help understand the meaning behind the Olympics and what they mean to each individual country and as 5 regions represented by the Olympic Rings. The Olympic Rings are a great example of unity of all cultures as each of the five rings represent one of the five participating Regions in the Olympic Games. There are many countries represented within these 5 regions. It will be up to you and your group to decide which ones you would like to explore!! Task: For this web quest, I will be assigning each group one of the Olympic Rings. Each group will then do research on the ring assigned. Find out the different cultures represented within that continent represented by your Olympic ring assigned. Find out the different countries represented within that continent and their certain Olympic culture. You will then take that information and create a visual display of their choice (posters, powerpoint, etc.) Process: I will assign each group a ring. Each ring will represent one of the 5 regions of Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania. You then will look up information about each of these regions and pick 2 countries to select a flag for visual representation.
