2. I have chosen to use this image as the main
image on my front cover. It is a close up
shot of the artist that I have written my
main article on. The model, Claudia is half
Jamaican and therefore I though I would
use her ethnic traits to the advantage of the
photo. I ensured that her hair was down as
it has a huge amount of volume and is
wavy, which connotes a messy, indie look
which will work well with the target
audience. The clothing also relates to the
Indie music genre as the flowers on her top
connote peace and nature. I feel that the
closeness of the shot and the direct eye
contact would draw the reader in. The dark
red lipstick would also do this as it portrays
an image of seductiveness.

3. These are the chosen images for my Contents Page. I chose
to include them to offer the audience a variety of different
features and demonstrate the wide range of artists and
bands included in the magazine. My main artist, Claudia, is
featured on the Contents Page as she is the focus of that
issue. I have also included other artists as it targets a wider
audience and allows readers to have other options of what
to read about. I also used a photo that I took at a Mumford
& Sons gig because it demonstrates the industry side of my
magazine. I feel that the images of the artists are very
professional and match the genre of my magazine well.

4. I chose this image to introduce my article as a double page spread. I feel that it
is an effective photo as Claudia is looking directly into the camera, creating a
personal relationship with the reader. The image has a very modest and timid
vibe to it as Claudia is covering herself with the guitar, demonstrating the purity
and innocence of her music. It also suggests that music makes her feel more
comfortable, secure and protected. Her clothing was chosen specifically to
match well with the Indie genre.

5. I chose to use this image in my main
feature on a full page. In this image,
Claudia continues to portray an
innocent look which captivates the
reader and makes them want to find
out more about her. Her bright red
lips connote an element of
seductiveness which further entices
the reader to read about her. Her
clothing is very Indie and this would
make my target audience feel like
they can relate to her. She is looking
directly at the camera, drawing the
audience in.

6. I have chosen to display
these images as a collage
on a page included in my
main article. I felt that
doing this would be
effective as it varies the
layout of the pages and
illustrates the different
looks that Claudia portrays,
highlighting her versatility
as an artist. In all of the
images Claudia is looking
directly at the camera,
enticing in the readers and
making them want to find
out more about her. She
displays an Indie look in all
the images which appeals
to my target audience.

7. I am going to use these images on the final double page spread of my
main article. I feel that these images portray Claudia’s musical talent and
illustrates to the readers that she is extremely gifted in her work. The
use of the guitar highlights her ability to play a musical instrument,
which is very popular in the Indie genre. The image of her singing
demonstrates her passion for music, capturing the attention of the
readers.
