Parason High Consistency Disc Filter (HCDF) is developed for effecive pulp thickening in wide range of flow
applications. The HCDF is adaptable to higher feed consistencies and supports operations of variable grades of
pulp and recycled paper.
The pulp is fed into the vat through the inlet located on the side of the filter. The mat formation starts under
gravity ensuring optimal dewatering. As the rotor rotates, the filtrate is drained through the channels into the outer
rotor pipe under a vacuum.
The fiber mat is knocked off at the top which causes the pulp to fall into the pulp discharge screw that is located at the center. The rotor channels have a connected valve for separating the cloudy and clear filtrate.
The filtrate can be further separated into the clear and super clear filtrate.

Parason newly developed Offset Pulper is designed with a combination of double coned bottom and baffle where the baffle guides the pulp towards the rotor for achieving efficient and extensive slushing.
Intensive turbulence is generated on the part of the rotor, whereas low level turbulence is generated at the baffle which causes the stock to rotate repeatedly thus obtaining excellent quality pulp The troublefree ragger operation provides reliable operating conditions across large throughput.
The combination of double cone bottom & baffle pushes the
core contaminants towards reject discharge.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

When selecting your nozzles it is important to consider your nozzles Tier design. Tier I & II nozzles
with flat bottoms create water turbulence and lose energy. Tier III Fluid Mechanics smoothly
redirects water flow with minimal turbulence and energy loss. Tier III nozzles have three time the
power over Tier I and a greater cleaning and pulling power.
Basics of Tier Design
• Basic Nozzle
• Disposable
• Drilled Orifices
• Poor Fluid Mechanics

Chain Cutters
Chain cutters have the flexibility to handle the removal of the heaviest obstructions, while
being gentle on pipe walls. They are ideal for customers with root infiltration, grease,
concrete, protruding taps, and scaling problems.
Advantages: Easily configured for multiple jobs, high speed, high torque, rottar
chain is forgiven on pipe walls
7. jjei.com
Penetrating Nozzles are designed to “break up the stoppage” fast. When the toughest clogs and
obstructions are encountered in a sewer line, high performance penetrating nozzles should be used
for the task at hand. Deformed pipes, sand, mud, roots, trash, or other blockages inevitably yield to
these high performance nozzles.
Penetrating Nozzles
Tier ONE: Good Thrust, Forward Jets Tier TWO: Best Thrust, Forward Jets, Drill PointTier One: Better Thrust, Drill Point
8. jjei.com
Penetrating Nozzles
Tier THREE: Heavy Debris removal, Gentle on Pipe Walls, Ability to Separate Water Coming Into the Nozzle
and Water Coming From the Nozzle
Ideal for small and medium storm drain or sewer
cleaning applications where pipes are heavily
exposed to debris, or where pipes are heavily
damaged or weakened. The Stallion nozzle is ideal
for flushing corrugated metal, concrete, clay, or
plastic pipe.
Ideal for larger storm drain or
sewer cleaning applications
where pipe walls may be
compromised and pressure on
the pipe wall is not desired
9. jjei.com
Floor Cleaners
Floor cleaners are ideal for removing sludge, mud, and other compacted materials and heavy
debris (rocks, bricks, broken concrete, etc.) from storm lines, detention systems, culverts, and
large sanitary lines.
Advantages: Reduced operating costs , high efficiency cleaning
10. jjei.com
Cleaning Nozzles
Ideal for routine pipe cleaning and maintenance applications. Cleaning Nozzles come in
unique sizes and shapes with a variety of jet angles, jet quantities, and jet locations.
Tier ONE: Lower Efficiency, Shorter Life Span Tier TWO: Better Efficiency, Longer Life Span
Tier THREE: Most Efficient & Most Powerful
Fluid Mechanics, Longest Life Span

Finishing Family
When contractors or municipalities "finish" a pipe cleaning job, they often view streaks on the pipe
walls during their video inspection. These "streaks" are actually grease residue that has not been
removed by the other cleaning processes. This free spinning Rotor will remove those last grease
deposits, along with tender roots and other vegetation, to "ensure perfectly cleaned pipe and a
finished job", hence our finishing label.
Advantages: Ease of maintenance, high efficiency cleaning
