I-75 Express Lanes Police Report
Good morning Ms. Crawford: Before I begin, I would first like to thank you again for your inquiry
and interest in the I 75 Express Lanes Project. As previously discussed, your concerns were forwarded
to my project team for review. Please be advised, the I 75 Express Lanes Project currently implements
a number of procedures to ensure motorist safety during construction. The Department s contractors
are responsible for providing work zone acceleration and deceleration lanes to allow construction
vehicles to safely enter and exit work areas. These work zones access areas are constructed to meet the
Department s guidelines. To ensure safety within the construction zone, the Florida Department of
Transportation (FDOT) has hired additional Florida ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though left lane closures are implemented along the corridor, Florida does not have a Statue
mandating left lane restrictions of any kind (i.e. truck/18 wheeler lane restrictions) at this time. These
types of restrictions can be requested and are evaluated on a case by case basis. Also, each restriction
requires an Engineering Study to include closeness of interchanges, percentage of truck traffic, etc., in
order to determine if the restriction will or will not be implemented. Additionally, establishing truck
lane restrictions in a construction zone is not ideal and would be difficult to enforce. With that being
said, please be advised that commercial trucks, such as 18 wheelers and dump trucks, will not be
permitted to travel/utilize the I 75 Express Lanes upon its

Analysis Of The News Article Blending Market Research
The news article Blending Market Research and User Research Activities is written by the author
Pallavi Kutty director of the user research team at Move Inc., a subsidiary of News Corp. The given
article describes in what various ways the user research and market research activities are carried out
for a particular product. She also explains in depth the significance of carrying out both the market
and the use research activities. The misconceptions related to both the types of the research activities,
the objective of carrying these research activities. To validate her evidence on the misconceptions on
the market and the user research activity she has provided proper examples. It also explains the
similarities between both the user and market research activities. The author has covered almost all the
questions which are required to do the user research activities. She has tried to explain that none of the
activities are competing or better than the other. These two research activities were blended at Move
Inc. due to the limitation of time and budget. The benefits that occurred after combining these two
activities at move Inc. has been explained in detail by the author. Significance: The main aim of the
author is to combine the two research activities and create a complete story for the product. Doing
only one kind of research whether the user research or market research is not sufficient to develop a
good product for the audiences. The problem of doing only one

Reformation Of Public Education In The Age Of Reform
One of the many changes in the Age of Reform was the reformation of public education. The first
schools were built for religious purposes, but during this reformation period, the reformers wanted
better schools to make sure that the future voters would be informed. Also, these schools would help
immigrants become part of the culture of American society. Massachusetts was the first state to set up
public schools, schools paid by taxes, and this was also the first state to have compulsory education.
This is where children had to go to school until a certain age. Reformers like Horace Mann changed
many aspects to the schools in Massachusetts. He created colleges to train teachers, raised the salaries
of the teachers, and he lengthened the school

Strategic Fit
STRATEGIC FIT A STRATEGY TO ALIGN ORGANIZATION AND ENVIRONMENT
Abstract This paper analyzes the term strategic fit exactly means, types of strategic fit, necessities to
focus on strategic fit, and most importantly how well an organization can align its resources
capabilities with the opportunities that exist in the external environment so as to achieve peak
performance in the business. Strategy of Nestlé as an example to discuss how far it is true that
effective strategic fit ensures organization s resources capabilities and what the environment exactly
needs from it.

intangible resources.
Capabilities
Capabilities are what a firm does, and represents the firm s capacity to deploy resources that have
been purposely integrated to achieve the desired end state. Capabilities become important when they
are combined in unique combinations which create core competencies which have strategic value and
can lead to competitive advantage. Capabilities needed for strategic fit are
1. Coordination
2. Commitment
3. Competence (technology, management and leadership)
4. Communication
5. Creativity
6. Capacity management (allocation of resources)
Benefits of Strategic Fit
The extent to which the activities of a single organization or of organizations working in partnership
complement each other in such a way as to contribute to competitive advantage. The benefits of good
strategic fit include cost reduction, due to economies of scale, and the transfer of knowledge and skills
(technological expertise, managerial know how), use of common brand name. The success of a
merger, joint venture, or strategic alliance may be affected by the degree of strategic fit between the
organizations involved. Similarly, the strategic fit of one organization with another is often a factor in
decisions about acquisitions, mergers, diversification, or divestment.

Battles That Changed the Outcome of the American...
Battles that Changed the Outcome The Americans started out as a bunch of uncivilized colonies, but
after the revolutionary war, they become a strong country that beat Britain for freedom. On Christmas
night General George Washington makes a bold decision to cross the Delaware and ambushed the
Hessians. Although risky, Washington brought new life to his rag tag army. General Burgoyne decides
that in order to win this war, he needs to cut off New England from the rest of the colonies. Burgoyne
s plan sounded like a good idea to the British, but this action could be argued to be the reason why
Britain did not win this war. Nearing the end of the war, the British were scarce on man and supplies.

Getting across the Delaware was slow due to bad conditions. Temperature were constantly changing,
which makes at different times rain and other times sleet. Washington knew that a strong boat would
be needed to travel through ice. That is why General Washington chooses the Durbam boat. Durbam
boats were the boats used to cross the Delaware River (Washington s Crossing Historic Park). It was
Ideal for transporting goods, which made it good to bring troops and supplies across the Delaware. Ice
chunks and storms delayed the army. Having completed the crossing around 3:00 AM, they began
their march south towards Trenton. Both columns approached the outskirts of Trenton shortly before
8:00 AM on December 26. Getting across the Delaware was only half the battle; the other part was
physically fighting the Hessians. The Hessians, men hired by British to fight, were under complete
surprise from the attack on Christmas by Washington. Commander John Rall ignored hints that
showed that they might be under attack. Americans fought from behind trees and in houses, while
cannons and other weapons took down two major streets in the town. The Battle of Trenton lasted
about 40 minutes; thirty Hessians are killed including commander Rall, one thousand were taken as
prisoners, while only four Americans were wounded. The American Army were down in the war, and

Corning Museum Of Glass Essay
In 1951, the Corning Museum of Glass was built. It was an L shaped building that composed of the
non for profit Corning Museum of Glass, the for profit Corning Glass Center, and the Steuben Glass
factory. The Corning Museum of Glass is an institution whose mission is to tell the world about glass
by engaging, educating, and inspiring visitors and the community through the art, history, and science
of glass. Thanks to resources like the Juliette K. and Leonard S. Rakow Research Library, this
museum is able to spread knowledge about the art, history, and science of glassmaking.
The museum was founded in 1951 by Corning Glass Works as an educational institution. It is a non
profit institution that preserves the world s glass and teaches about it. The initial building included a
Hall of Science that showcased the technology of glass. The Scientific Research Department of the
museum was established in order to study glassmaking and its history. According to their website, The
findings of this research have been shared in more than 190 publications on archaeology, chemistry,
and conservation of glass. The museum provides a searchable database for the public to use in order to
view these publications.
In June, 1972, flood waters caused by Hurricane Agnes caused $750 million in property damage to

The Light Energy Absorbed By Colored Compounds
Spectrophotometry is the process by which the light energy absorbed by colored compounds, is
determined and used for quantitative and qualitative analyses. We use this process to often produce a
standard curve, and use that to compare absorbance with different factors. In Experiment 3.1 3.4,
spectrophotometry is used to produce the absorbance spectrums for the basic and acidic forms of PNP,
to determine the pKa of PNP, and to develop standard curves for determination of unknown
concentration and pH of unknown samples.
Quantification of proteins is needed to determine the progress of protein purification. As the protein
becomes more purified, its specific activity will increase as well. In Experiment 4.1, dilutions of PNP
are prepared, and the Bradford Method was used to measure protein concentration.
There are different types of chromatography, and we would be using gel filtration and affinity.
Chromatography is defined as the separation of molecules based on properties such as molecular
mass, charges or solubility. In Experiment 5.1, gel filtration chromatography was used to separate
molecules based on their molecular mass. The stationary phase in the column contains tiny pores,
those that are unable to fit into the pores are eluded first; thus, the small molecules are eluded last. We
are able to witness a visual demonstration of gel filtration chromatography, the separation of three
different colored compounds: blue dextran, cytochrome c, and potassium chromate. In

Charles Darwin s Radical New Book On The Origin Of Species
The coalescence of the publication of Charles Darwin s radical new book On The Origin of Species by
Means of Natural Selection (1859) and the American Civil War (1861 1865) brought about a dramatic
end to transcendentalism and the American Romanticism period that dominated the late 18th and early
19th Centuries. American intellectuals began to apply the knowledge gained from Origin of Species to
more fields than just biology. This dynamic understanding (evolution) of life ushered in a period of
Naturalism. Naturalist literature was based on the following four basic assumptions : The origin of
man is brute matter caught in a struggle for survival; Individual strengths and weaknesses are the

Norris offers a very pessimistic view of humans and society and that that humans are naturally evil to
the reader early on. The fact that Norris described his main character in such a painfully honest tone at
the onset of his story not only removes the veil of goodness, but reveals a man struggling to survive,
instead of thriving, in his environment.
A running theme in this story, congruent with the first naturalistic assumption of the struggle for
survival, is the desire for wealth and the eventual greed spawned from this consuming desire. Mac s
girlfriend at the time, and later his wife, Trina, won $5000 in a lottery, but was very frugal with her
winnings. Mac, who was never accustomed to wealth or high society, found this very frustrating and
after the loss of his business, every hour the question of money came up (Norris, 127). He was
unrelenting in his search for money. To McTeague, wealth equaled power and success. Norris
exemplifies the dangers of greed and how it can get the best of you when McTeague s anger and
frustration at Trina with his financial situation boils over, Miser, nasty little old miser. You re worse
than old Zerkow, always nagging about money, money, and you got five thousand dollars. You got
more, an you live in that stinking hole of a room, and you won t drink any decent beer (Norris, 135).

Compare And Contrast Han China And Rome
Two empires from two different time periods are different, but are also similar at the same time. These
two power house empires are the Roman Empire of the west and the Han Dynasty in China to the east.
Both the Empires of China and Rome were ruled by an emperor who maintained imperial control,
however, the Chinese instituted a system of scholar bureaucrats that gained their position through
merit, while the Romans never achieved such an elaborate bureaucracy. The Hans were also more
technologically advanced and culturally creative, and had a different treatment of their emperors.
In Han China, anyone could have been in a government position if they passed an exam which tests
their intelligence. At the center of Han government was Confucianism, which were essentially the
rules all the rulers followed and looked to. For Roman government positions, it was hereditary, and the
emperors were generally the best generals. Imperial Rome also didn t have a specific set of guiding
values like Confucianism, it was more the emperor s word is law. ... Show more content on

The Romans took much of their culture from the Greeks, such as their religion, artwork and
architecture. While the Romans had aqueducts, roads and other great works, much of this was taken
from others and improved upon. The Han on the other hand came up with the seismometer, a device
used to provide instant alert to authorities in the capital Luoyang that an earthquake had occurred in a
location indicated by a specific directions. The Romans relied on slavery for their source of labor,
while the Chinese relied upon free peasants. This led to technological stagnation on the part of the
Romans, while the Chinese were able to allow free thinking throughout the nation instead of

Emma And Emma In Jane Knightley By Jane Austen
Emma is reluctant to marry because she fears that she will lose the independence that she has.
However, Emma only agrees to marry with Mr. Knightley, as he shows signs that she can still be in
Hartfield with him, which is one of the reasons why Emma doesn t want to marry. There are also
many other reasons why she doesn t want to marry. Emma s destiny ensures her of independence and
security. Why does Emma want to stay in Hartfield after marrying Mr. Knightley? Emma s opinion on
marriage?
Towards the beginning of the novel, Emma is opposed to the idea of marrying, when she is talking
with Harriet, and when Harriet asks about marriage, Emma says, Fortune I do not want; employment I
do not want; consequence I do not want: I believe few married women are half as much mistress of
their husband s house as I am of Hartfield; and never, never could I expect to be so truly beloved and
important; so always first and always right in any man s eyes as I am in my father s. (Austen 73). Mr.
Knightley and Emma, who are lifelong friends and are well suited to one another. They both are born
into well respected families of wealth, in the beginning, neither of them shows the interest to marry,
however, as the novel progresses, they begin their relationship. Mr. Knightley is in the mid thirties and
has never been paired with anyone, also Emma sees marriage as a way to get what she has no need of.
Even though Emma is opposed to marriage, Mr. Knightley is a good match.

Influence Of Aerodynamics On Subaru Sports Sedan Race Car
When a body moves with high velocity at that moment aerodynamics forces such as drag, lift (or
down force) are the primary concern that are caused by the airflow over the body. In engineering
aerodynamics principles are applied in every kind of design or structures such as automobiles,
aeroplanes, tall buildings and bridges. However, largely the aerodynamics principles are applied on
aeroplanes and automobiles. This project involves the influence of aerodynamics principles over the

Mesothelioma: The Silent Killer
By Nick Johnson
Oct 10, 2007
There have been 126 deaths in Texas attributed to mesothelioma according to a study completed in
1999 by The National Center for Health Statistics. This ranks Texas 7th in the country for
mesothelioma cases. Texas has a crude mortality rank of 42 but, although this is not statistically high,
if you are the widow/widower or children of one of the deceased, the rank is absolutely too high.
It has been known for years that asbestos is harmful to humans and mesothelioma is preventable.
Despite this knowledge, thousands of Americans have suffered from the damaging effects of asbestos

This settlement can go a long ways in helping a family pay for treatments for the disease as well as

A mesothelioma diagnosis is made when a cancerous tumor has invaded the mosothelial cells of an
organ. This type of tumor is most commonly found in lungs, heart and/or abdominal cells and is
caused by direct exposure to asbestos and asbestos related products. The most predominant form of
mesothelioma is pleural mesothelioma which is an extraordinarily rare, vicious kind of lung cancer.
There are two classes of pleural mesothelioma diffuse and malignant (cancerous) and benign (not
cancerous).
Statistics indicate that malignant mesothelioma is a serious form of the disease and accounts for about
75% of all instances of mesothelioma. Malignant mesothelioma is so aggressive it requires
uncompromising treatment not only because of the type of cancer it is but, a forceful response to
treatment is required because, by the time this form of mesothelioma is diagnosed, the disease has
progressed into an advanced form of cancer. Mesothelioma diagnosis is made through biopsy and a

Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (Nafld), Is A Form Of
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), is a form of chronic liver disease ranging in severity from
simple fat infiltration (steatosis) to an advanced form, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH, steatosis
with liver inflammation) with subsequent progression to fibrosis.1 The relationship between gut flora
and the development of NAFLD have been under study for almost the last decade. Uncontrolled
growth of gut bacteria and translocation of gut microorganisms from the intestinal lumen predispose
patients to multiple bacterial infections. 2

liver damage and mitochondrial dysfunction will follow which contribute to fat accumulation and
development of NAFLD.9
Therefore, the liver gut interaction is central to understand the pathophysiology of liver diseases,
including non alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and hepatic encephalopathy. Current knowledge
on the association between gut microbial composition and NASH is incomplete. Liver malfunction
leads to altered genetic composition of gut microbial, and in the meantime specific bacterial species
are present during liver pathogenesis, and the abundance of some bacteria is correlates with grade of
liver disease, implying the term gut liver axis .
Toll like receptors (TLRs) constitute very important players in this microbiome balance. TLRs are
trans membrane non catalytic receptor proteins that prompt activation of innate and adaptive immune
responses to microorganisms through recognition of conserved molecular patterns of organisms. In
order to maintain immune tolerance to the luminal microorganisms the expression of TLRs by
intestinal epithelial cells is normallyat its minimal.

Mask Ventilation Essay
Although ventilation is not usually provided during the apnoeic period, some anaesthetists will give a
single breath, or several gentle breaths, to both confirm that mask ventilation is possible and reduce
the development of hypercapnia, acidaemia, and hypoxia. Some guidelines advocate use of mask
ventilation for this reason in patients at elevated risk of hypoxia, for example, the pregnant patient.4,5
Apnoeic oxygenation is increasingly used, especially in critically unwell patients, to provide an
oxygen rich environment in the oropharynx to minimise hypoxia during the apnoeic period of RSI.6

New Zealand Women s Rights
INTRODUCTION New Zealand women in the 19th century became part of an international
movement to achieve equal rights. Women campaigners, and the men who helped them to achieve
their goal, were raising the point of inequalities in marriage, education, paid employment and politics.
Most of those who didn t support in favour for women s rights, strongly valued the differences
between men and woman. A woman s place was seen a mainly domestic one. As they were seen as the
mother and homemaker, the source of love and moral guidance. Whereas men were seen to be more in
charge of the public world of business and politics. It was considered the task of men to start building
the new colony. At the same time, a large percentage of women strongly believed that if they had
access to education and training men received. They could achieve as much as men did. Both beliefs
became apparent, especially when women campaigned for change. Their argument was that their
positive moral influence on general public life was needed to ensure the protection of women, children
and home life, and they also asserted their right to have access to the privileges of citizenship that men
enjoyed. BACKGROUND Starting in the 1870s, Large numbers of women started to join
organisations. They were motivated by the desire for a secure home, and to acknowledge their concern
about the damage done by men, caused by alcohol abuse. Many members of these organisations either

Similarities And Differences Between Football And Soccer
Arguments about football and soccer have been ongoing since both sports gained popularity over a

question over the name of the sports has been viewed as a major issue since football and soccer
became widely known. I experienced this issue first hand when I traveled to Germany and Sweden last
summer for a soccer tournament and instantly noticed the difference from the moment I arrived. All of

In order to score, the team with the ball must cross the end zone without having an illegal play,
otherwise known as a flag. The team is awarded 6 points and the kicker must either kick a Point After
Touchdown (PAT) for an additional point or the team can attempt to score two points by attempting to
again cross the end zone, but this time starting from the two yard line. The rules of soccer, however,
completely differ from those of American football. Like football there are 11 players on the field with
specific positions, but the object of soccer is for a player to get the ball into the other team s goal by
using any part of the body except the player s hands and arms. The goalie is the only player allowed to
touch the ball with the hands and arms and then only while he is located in his own penalty area

Economy During The Enlightenment
The Enlightenment brought about ideas that united a revolution with human reason, progress, and
perfectibility. The economy during the Enlightenment improved due to bigger and better ships, more
canals, and roads for better forms of transports of good and services. Their was a fall in price when it
came to transportation, with this decline transportation prices allowed most individuals to purchase
coaches which paved the way for tourism. This brought about realistic thinking of the opportunity of
traveling which also created the idea that attitudes varied with individuals and environments. Other
signs of progress were in agriculture. The abundance in good allowed more people to survive thus
allowing population to grow. Healthy agriculture meant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Philosophers during that time reveled in the concept of living the natural life happily. French social
reformer Jean Jacque Rousseau speculated on how and why human differences occurred over time. He
believed that though men were born free they were always seen in chains. He was an advocate of
happiness, and believed that to achieve this Utopian idea of self happiness one must become
advantageous. His belief was that individuals and society could become genuine and live genuinely
which explains why he is referred to as the hippie genius . He wanted society to return to nature and
with this he created a radical change in which society didn t refer to nature as a nuisance but as a view
to be appreciated for its beauty. His philosophy was dreamy and private which influenced the
Romantics. Romantics during the Enlightenment were the polar opposites of the reasonable, skeptical,
yet pragmatic philosophers of the time. They focused on the sentiments of human nature. The idea
behind self discovery . That the mysterious forces such as freedom, dreams/nightmares, imagination,

Compromise Dbq
Americans in the early nineteenth century had been, or atleast seemed to be very desent at solving
their political problems with compromise. Compromise had been less and less effective at settling
these politcal disputes the closer to 1900 it became. It seemed to be revativly impossible by 1860. This
impossibity arouse from the North and the South adpoting impervious opinions about politics and
slavery that heavily opposed each other. Senator Henry Clay, the Father of Compromise clearly stated
and believed that it was utterly impractical that South Carolina ever wated to suceceed from the
United States(Document A). However, in reality they did due to Abraham Lincoln s message stating

Social Ramifications Of Genetic Research
When considering social ramifications of genetic research positive effects outweigh the negative. The
outcome of such research is our understanding of human anatomy, which can be used in various
aspects of scientific discoveries. Information that is gathered from genetical research is very valuable
to human society as it can point out and define problems in genetics of a person, which in turn can
have an outstanding influence on progress of the process of curing them. Nevertheless, such
information could be very dangerous being available to public display. That is why privacy is very
important issue to acknowledge when talking about this topic. The results received from research

Raging Bull Vs. The Social Network
Raging Bull is a 1980 biographical sports film about boxer Jake LaMotta, directed by Martin
Scorsese. The Social Network is a 2010 biographical film about Mark Zuckerberg and the creation of
Facebook, directed by David Fincher. This essay will be an analysis and a comparison of the two films
that seeks to answer the questions: How do the films communicate messages to the viewer? What
messages do the communicate? And finally should films of the biopic genre be viewed as
biographical, or should they be viewed as creative works that are not reflective of the people that they
portray?
Before beginning the analytical portion, first a more philosophical discussion about film as an art
form. Film is an art form that is experienced by its receiver over its duration, in that way it is similar to
music, and is different from a static art form like paintings. This matters because it alters the way in
which its effect is had on its receiver the audience. The film is a sequence of shots usually coupled
with audio, and the narrative film tells a story. The story may be delivered sequentially or not, and this
choice has implications on how viewers will react. These choices are considered as a part of film
form, choices can also be made about the individual scenes, frames, and sounds as well which are ...

The Arab Spring And The Middle East And North Africa
The Arab Spring is the revolutionary wave of protests and demonstrations in the Arab World, in both
the Middle East and North Africa. These waves and protests were done both in peace and violence,
and up to this day with the exception of Tunisia there is no clear sign if the Arab Spring is successful
or not. The Arab Spring were caused by many different factors, differing from the way the Arab world
was split in the end of the Cold War disregarding the different factions in the region, to the injustice in
government, coincidentally, resulting the war all to seemingly happen simultaneously.
The Arab Spring sparked at the end of 2010 to much of 2011 and overflowing to the beginning of
2012. It all ignited quite literally in an incident in Tunisia when a policewoman harrases, confiscates
his cart and spits on Mohamed Bouazizi. Fed up with the way his country is being run and hopeless he
sets himself on fire, his actions then caused commotions and protest throughout his country
(Telegraph). Due to this anti government uprisings Maummar al Gaddafi and the rulers at the country
at the time fled as revolts took place. After Tunisia numerous other states took part in the Arab Spring,
revolting and protesting to overthrow their respective Authoritarian and Dictatorship regimes. The list
of countries include: Libya, Egypt, Yemen, Syria, Bahrain, Algeria, Jordan, and Oman. In Libya on 11
February, 2011 the people organized an anti government demonstration spread to Tripoli and

Experiment to Study the Effects of Fear and Anger on...
Summary 1 Lerner, Gonzalez, Small and Fischhoff (2003) undertook an experiment to study the
effects of fear and anger on perceived threats of terrorism. The design of the experiment was a
national field study. To acquire a nationally representative sample of American s, the researchers drew
a random sample of 1786 people, aged 13 88, from Knowledge Networks nationally representative
panel. These people were randomly assigned to complete a survey and numerous psychosocial scales.
The two psychosocial scales that the subjects had to complete were the five item anxiety subscale
(Stanford Acute Stress Reaction Questionnaire) and a four item face valid Desire for Vengeance Scale.
An example of a statement in the Desire for Vengeance test is I felt a need to punish those responsible
for the recent terrorist attacks. Subjects had to rate these statements on a scale of 1(disagree) to 2
(agree.) An example statement from the anxiety test is I had difficulty falling or staying asleep.
Participants had to rate this statement from 0 (not experienced) to 5 (very often experienced). Of these
1786 participants, 927 of them completed an additional survey and psychosocial tests. 143 were
adolescents and the remainder was adults. Each of these subsamples included 49% males, and the
demographics roughly matched the census statistics. Each person was randomly assigned to one of
three emotion conditions. The emotion conditions were angry, sad and afraid. The participants had to

Cubama Inaugural Speech Analysis
It is, now time for us to leave the past behind , which was one of the many things President Obama,

Obama main reason was to talk to the people of Cuba, and to forget about the past and look to the

The Cause And Causes Of The Second World War
In 1939, the Second World War began as Germany attacked Poland. Britain and France declared war
on Germany in response to Germany s invasion of Poland. The Second World War was composed of
two main powers. One was the Axis Powers which included Germany, Italy, and Japan. The other was
the Allied Powers which included Britain, France, the United States, the Soviet Union and etc.
Germany s attack on Soviet Union and Japan s invasion of Pearl Harbor escalated the war and the war
became more intensified on a world scale. Because of the Second World War, a lot of countries and
people were sacrificed. In addition, all the things concerning politics, economy, society, culture , etc
changed due to this war. Historians always argue about historical events, especially argue about the
cause and effect. In the case of the Second World War, most of the historians blame for the war on
Hitler. They agree that the Second World War occurred on account of Hitler s ambition of ruling the

Music Class Under The Instruction And Supervision Of Mr....
We learned several things in Music class under the instruction and supervision of Mr. Gonzales. We
started in a timeline beginning at the very first instrument ever, the heart. The heart was the very first
beat and clave was formed based on this beat . Clave is the foundation of almost every Latin song and
most songs found around the world. Developed in Africa as one the earliest beats, clave was played on
one of the first instruments, the Bongo drums. All drums are based after this drum which is still widely
used in Africa for celebrations among tribes. The Bongo drums were made, originally, from wood and

can also be a percussion through beat boxing, making noise that resembles that of drums and other
instruments. There are also many string instruments. The Clavichord instrument is one of the oldest
string instruments and is only capable of producing a small sound. The ones used, mainly, in an
orchestra are as follow: Violin (fiddle), Viola, Cello, and the Double Bass. A violin can also be called a
fiddle as it is usually called in folk music. The viola is a fretless instrument and, thus, harder to play.
Other popular string instruments are the acoustic guitar whose origin dates back thousands of years in
Greek, Sanskrit, and Arabic cultures. Some examples of guitar like instruments are the Dotar (two
strings), the Setar (three strings), the Qithara (four strings), the Panchtar (five strings), and the Tamber,
which is the ancestor of the modern day guitar. Acoustic instruments don t generally have a need for

An Example Of An Immigrant As A Refugee
To be considered a refugee, one must be forcefully removed from their homeland through a fear of
violent persecution or driven away by some form of armed conflict (UNHCR, 2016). Examples of this
would be people being displaced by violent warfare or other political conflict in which their lives or
well being may be at stake. In addition to this, such conditions may make it difficult, or even
impossible, for these people to return to their home. On the other hand, migrants are defined as people
who leave their homeland by choice without any threat of violence. Often, migrants hope to find a
better life for their families by seeking out economic opportunity in a foreign land, and are not
necessarily at risk if they were to return (UNHCR, 2016).

Commentary On Short Cut On Nirvana
Through this assignment we where told to watch a documentary Short Cut to Nirvana. I found this
interesting because is based on the belief on another religion or better said based on an event that takes
place in another country and how people and individuals from all over the place meet here to bring
their belief to action. As I watch the video I began noticing things that I found very interesting because
it is not only different to my own faith but spark my interest to gain more insight in what is it that they
do what they do.
When I began there was a man talking about how he felt something leading to leave everything he
knows, such as his everyday life, family, wife, kids, work to be part of the this religion. He understood
this took priority to everything he had even his family and as I kept watching the same story was share
from different individuals some left their house as young as 14 yrs of age. This I found disturbing
because in Christianity we are though that family comes after God and it is important to maintain a
connection with them to lead into Christ as well. In Christianity a child leaving the house in a young
age to practice the faith is not very common it all comes together in life to maintain peace and find
God as a family.
The way they perceive to find their God and their peace intakes from what I was able to gather is a lot
of smoke and also seems very disturbing that they are open to dirt and worship in a messy place. I can

Ambition And Murderous Intent In Macbeth By William...
Macbeth is a tragic play written by Shakespeare that dramatizes tragic flaw of ambition and
murderous intent in Macbeth, which is manipulated by his equally ambitious wife and the inherently
evil witches. This leads him to murder King Duncan.
The first impression of Macbeth portrays him as a war hero who, ironically, has a strong distaste in
traitors and disloyalty in the dialogue spoken by Captain For brave Macbeth well he deserves that

violent and graphic actions which shows his allegiance to the king, ironically, also shows the readers
that he is merciless and bloodthirsty when he is ambitious. This reveals a latent murderous aspect to
his personality.
When Macbeth says in Act 1, Scene 7 I have no spur to prick the sides of my intent, but only vaulting

Basically, creating a positive atmosphere for the other side making willingness to engage in a
negotiation in the first place more likely in setting a foundation for a positive experience expectation
for future negotiations.
In my opinion, the results in different relationship context would have been interesting to study. For
example, looking at the influences of perspective taking and empathy approaches in intimate
relationships.
I would guess that empathy would be rated higher for the success of negotiation in intimate
relationships.
Perspective taking can be motivated by trying to get the upper hand where as empathy is motivated by
a perspective of equality. Perspective taking only perhaps can be misleading in that it may give the
person the impression that their concern is important to the other person because their concerns are
valued which I think essentially means that they are valued. It would be conflicting if someone valued
another but had no regard for another s values regardless if they held the same values.
Empathy, I think, is sincere, genuine honest approach that fosters trust and effects the ability to have
closer relationships. You can t fake empathy. The other person can sense that fakeness. It is that
genuineness that leads to trust that is a base of intimacy. When we are emotionally

  • 2. I-75 Express Lanes Police Report Good morning Ms. Crawford: Before I begin, I would first like to thank you again for your inquiry and interest in the I 75 Express Lanes Project. As previously discussed, your concerns were forwarded to my project team for review. Please be advised, the I 75 Express Lanes Project currently implements a number of procedures to ensure motorist safety during construction. The Department s contractors are responsible for providing work zone acceleration and deceleration lanes to allow construction vehicles to safely enter and exit work areas. These work zones access areas are constructed to meet the Department s guidelines. To ensure safety within the construction zone, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has hired additional Florida ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though left lane closures are implemented along the corridor, Florida does not have a Statue mandating left lane restrictions of any kind (i.e. truck/18 wheeler lane restrictions) at this time. These types of restrictions can be requested and are evaluated on a case by case basis. Also, each restriction requires an Engineering Study to include closeness of interchanges, percentage of truck traffic, etc., in order to determine if the restriction will or will not be implemented. Additionally, establishing truck lane restrictions in a construction zone is not ideal and would be difficult to enforce. With that being said, please be advised that commercial trucks, such as 18 wheelers and dump trucks, will not be permitted to travel/utilize the I 75 Express Lanes upon its ... The first schools were built for religious purposes, but during this reformation period, the reformers wanted better schools to make sure that the future voters would be informed. Also, these schools would help immigrants become part of the culture of American society. Massachusetts was the first state to set up public schools, schools paid by taxes, and this was also the first state to have compulsory education. This is where children had to go to school until a certain age. Reformers like Horace Mann changed many aspects to the schools in Massachusetts. Battles that Changed the Outcome The Americans started out as a bunch of uncivilized colonies, but after the revolutionary war, they become a strong country that beat Britain for freedom. On Christmas night General George Washington makes a bold decision to cross the Delaware and ambushed the Hessians. Although risky, Washington brought new life to his rag tag army. General Burgoyne decides that in order to win this war, he needs to cut off New England from the rest of the colonies. Burgoyne s plan sounded like a good idea to the British, but this action could be argued to be the reason why Britain did not win this war. Nearing the end of the war, the British were scarce on man and supplies. Washington took his army and his French ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Washington knew that a strong boat would be needed to travel through ice. That is why General Washington chooses the Durbam boat. Durbam boats were the boats used to cross the Delaware River (Washington s Crossing Historic Park). It was Ideal for transporting goods, which made it good to bring troops and supplies across the Delaware. Ice chunks and storms delayed the army. Having completed the crossing around 3:00 AM, they began their march south towards Trenton. Both columns approached the outskirts of Trenton shortly before 8:00 AM on December 26. Getting across the Delaware was only half the battle; the other part was physically fighting the Hessians. The Hessians, men hired by British to fight, were under complete surprise from the attack on Christmas by Washington. Commander John Rall ignored hints that showed that they might be under attack. Americans fought from behind trees and in houses, while cannons and other weapons took down two major streets in the town. The Battle of Trenton lasted about 40 minutes; thirty Hessians are killed including commander Rall, one thousand were taken as prisoners, while only four Americans were wounded. • 9. The Light Energy Absorbed By Colored Compounds Spectrophotometry is the process by which the light energy absorbed by colored compounds, is determined and used for quantitative and qualitative analyses. We use this process to often produce a standard curve, and use that to compare absorbance with different factors. In Experiment 3.1 3.4, spectrophotometry is used to produce the absorbance spectrums for the basic and acidic forms of PNP, to determine the pKa of PNP, and to develop standard curves for determination of unknown concentration and pH of unknown samples. Quantification of proteins is needed to determine the progress of protein purification. As the protein becomes more purified, its specific activity will increase as well. In Experiment 4.1, dilutions of PNP are prepared, and the Bradford Method was used to measure protein concentration. There are different types of chromatography, and we would be using gel filtration and affinity. Chromatography is defined as the separation of molecules based on properties such as molecular mass, charges or solubility. In Experiment 5.1, gel filtration chromatography was used to separate molecules based on their molecular mass. The stationary phase in the column contains tiny pores, those that are unable to fit into the pores are eluded first; thus, the small molecules are eluded last. We are able to witness a visual demonstration of gel filtration chromatography, the separation of three different colored compounds: blue dextran, cytochrome c, and potassium chromate. In ... Charles Darwin s Radical New Book On The Origin Of Species The coalescence of the publication of Charles Darwin s radical new book On The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection (1859) and the American Civil War (1861 1865) brought about a dramatic end to transcendentalism and the American Romanticism period that dominated the late 18th and early 19th Centuries. American intellectuals began to apply the knowledge gained from Origin of Species to more fields than just biology. This dynamic understanding (evolution) of life ushered in a period of Naturalism. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Norris offers a very pessimistic view of humans and society and that that humans are naturally evil to the reader early on. The fact that Norris described his main character in such a painfully honest tone at the onset of his story not only removes the veil of goodness, but reveals a man struggling to survive, instead of thriving, in his environment. A running theme in this story, congruent with the first naturalistic assumption of the struggle for survival, is the desire for wealth and the eventual greed spawned from this consuming desire. Mac s girlfriend at the time, and later his wife, Trina, won $5000 in a lottery, but was very frugal with her winnings. Mac, who was never accustomed to wealth or high society, found this very frustrating and after the loss of his business, every hour the question of money came up (Norris, 127). He was unrelenting in his search for money. To McTeague, wealth equaled power and success. Norris exemplifies the dangers of greed and how it can get the best of you when McTeague s anger and frustration at Trina with his financial situation boils over, Miser, nasty little old miser. You re worse than old Zerkow, always nagging about money, money, and you got five thousand dollars. These two power house empires are the Roman Empire of the west and the Han Dynasty in China to the east. Both the Empires of China and Rome were ruled by an emperor who maintained imperial control, however, the Chinese instituted a system of scholar bureaucrats that gained their position through merit, while the Romans never achieved such an elaborate bureaucracy. The Hans were also more technologically advanced and culturally creative, and had a different treatment of their emperors. In Han China, anyone could have been in a government position if they passed an exam which tests their intelligence. Texas has a crude mortality rank of 42 but, although this is not statistically high, if you are the widow/widower or children of one of the deceased, the rank is absolutely too high. The most predominant form of mesothelioma is pleural mesothelioma which is an extraordinarily rare, vicious kind of lung cancer. There are two classes of pleural mesothelioma diffuse and malignant (cancerous) and benign (not cancerous). Statistics indicate that malignant mesothelioma is a serious form of the disease and accounts for about 75% of all instances of mesothelioma. Most of those who didn t support in favour for women s rights, strongly valued the differences between men and woman. A woman s place was seen a mainly domestic one. As they were seen as the mother and homemaker, the source of love and moral guidance. Whereas men were seen to be more in charge of the public world of business and politics. It was considered the task of men to start building the new colony. At the same time, a large percentage of women strongly believed that if they had access to education and training men received. They could achieve as much as men did. Both beliefs became apparent, especially when women campaigned for change. Their argument was that their positive moral influence on general public life was needed to ensure the protection of women, children and home life, and they also asserted their right to have access to the privileges of citizenship that men enjoyed. The team is awarded 6 points and the kicker must either kick a Point After Touchdown (PAT) for an additional point or the team can attempt to score two points by attempting to again cross the end zone, but this time starting from the two yard line. The rules of soccer, however, completely differ from those of American football. Like football there are 11 players on the field with specific positions, but the object of soccer is for a player to get the ball into the other team s goal by using any part of the body except the player s hands and arms. The goalie is the only player allowed to touch the ball with the hands and arms and then only while he is located in his own penalty area (upperdublinsoccerclub.org). If any of these rules are broken by the players, the referee gives the player either a yellow card as a warning or a red card for an automatic ejection from the game. So, as you can see, whereas football primarily utilizes your hands, soccer leverages everything but your hands. In addition to this, all soccer players are required to wear shin guards and soccer cleats, but if it is organized soccer, a team jersey, team shorts, and long socks are also required. Some methods are too costly such as Trans esophageal echocardiogram (TEE). Fluoroscopy can also be used for placement confirmation but leads to additional costs as well as delays in total insertion time.
