Although it is practical from a literary and historical standpoint, object driven
analyses of Shakespeare s First Folio fail to account for, as Brown says, the story
of the object asserting itself as a thing. By treating the First Folio as only a book
meant to be read for information these analyses let it stagnate in a subject object
binary which leads us to falsely believe that the subject creates knowledge from the
object. Or as Brown says, we are stuck viewing the object as a code by which our
interpretive attention makes them meaningful (Brown 4). This line of thinking is
problematic because the object then lacks agency. When the object transitions to a
thing, the binary no longer applies and we can see that it has knowledge with or
without a subject involved. Additionally, this shift out of the binary allows for the
thing to become its own subject. If, as Baudrillard believes it is the subject that
totalizes the world (qtd in Brown) then this implies that the thing is not merely
passively impacted by the world but actively impacts the world with its presence.
However, only viewing the First Folio as a thing in opposition to an object also limits
our study of it. Instead, I propose that we should examine the story of an object
becoming a thing. Before I further my argument I want to take a moment to fully
examine the difference between an object and a thing and why current scholarship
has failed to acknowledge the importance of the First Folio becoming a thing.

My Community College
Growing up I was always told college was a must and it was very important for my
career. Both of my parents have multiple master s degrees and my mom has her
doctorate. So college was always in the back of my mind. I was not the most
studious student growing up. After graduation I tried community college and it just
was not for me. I got married at 19 and had children right after that. I had 4 children
within 5 years. I worked a full time at a decent job, but school never really was
brought up. I moved to Idaho in 2009 and started a job at the Emmett Libraryin 2011.
Schooling again was really never brought up, even though I knew a job in libraries
did usually require some type of schooling. I went for a 2nd job at the Middleton
Library in 2015. The director there told me she would like to see all of her employees
who do not have a degree enrolled in some type of classes. I started CSI fall of 2015
and graduated with an AA in Library Sciencein Spring of 2017. I decided if I wanted
my bachelor s degree I better continue now or else who knows if I would go back. I

bromoalkane using hydrobromic acid. The reaction was done under reflux and then
distilled to obtain a product of higher purity. The degree of the alkyl halide obtained
from the experiment was tested with silver nitrate and sodium iodide. An infrared
(IR) spectra and the weight of the product were obtained for further analysis. The IR
gave information on the present functional groups and product weight was used to

Felicite, as explained at the very beginning of the story, was known for her

Residents at these two care homes have learning difficulties and physical disabilities.
They were sent to the rooms against their will, as a form of punishment. The rooms
were unfurnished with no heating and no toilet facilities. The rooms were known as
the quiet room or the garden room residents were held in these bare rooms for hours
or even overnight.
One resident giving evidence said he was sent to the rooms 195 times with 13
overnight stays. His mother and sister said the family felt tormented listening to the

I chose to discuss the difference between the Modern American music of Charles Ives
and Aaron Copland. The first difference that I noticed while listening to both pieces
was that in Charles Ives pieces Variations on America the main instrument was the
organ, and it was used frequently throughout. In Aaron Copland s, Appalachian spring
pieces he used violins, flutes, and the trumpets to have clear tones throughout his

2.1 Design
There are seven components to a biosand filter design. These are; the lid, diffuser,
sand layer, outlet tube, filter body, gravel layer and the separated gravel layer

diffuser is a plastic sheet with holes drilled into it and protects the biolayer while
