Ethical Issues In The Madoff Case
What is right or wrong? People base their values of right and wrong on what they have
learned from their experiences (Ferrell, Fraedrich, Ferrell, 2018). What one person
sees as wrong, may be a normal for another. Most people are taught to work hard, save
money, and invest for a future retirement. However, when it comes to money, some
people lose all principles and standards of behavior. There were several ethical issues
in the Madoff case. They include: stealing, cheating, lying, misrepresentation, and
deliberate deception. Madoff used the Ponzi scheme or the money pyramid to make his
money. In the Ponzi scheme, money was taken from new investors and given to
existing customers as earning without being invested. Was this right or wrong?
Throughout this case study ethical concerns can be seen on both sides, the investors
and Madoff s. Madoff required a $100,000 minimum to invest, was by invitation only,
and made each client feel like they were his only client (Ferrell, Fraedrich, Ferrell,
2018). He was a highly successful business man who was respected and trusted for his
knowledge of investments. Madoff had clients begging him to invest their money. The
reason, he claimed he could make 10 to 12 percent on returns for investors no... Show

All family members denied knowing about Madoff s money scam. The negative
effects on the family were horrendous. One of his sons killed himself, and the other
changed his name due to his damaged reputation. Madoff s wife gave her assets to
federal prosecutors, leaving her broke. Madoff went to prison for 150 years in prison,
and his entire family was left fighting a $200 million lawsuit filed by Irving Picard, his
bankruptcy trustee. Madoff admitted that when he started committing the fraud, he was
desperate for money and thought he could get back on track, but things quickly spun out
of control (Ferrell, Fraedrich, Ferrell,
Was Macbeth Responsible For Duncan s Death
Who out of the Macbeths is more responsible of Duncan s Death?
Duncan was a great and noble king to all people. Killing him would have made no
sense to anyone if he was such a good guy, unless it was for something they wanted out
of it, like the throne. This is what Macbeth was urging and wishing to get being told by
three witches that he would take the throne and be crowned king. But Duncan was
already king, and the only thing he could do was end his royal highness s life. Macbeth
wasn t alone, his dear wife was always there from the start, supporting him too heavily.
But who is more at fault? an action or the mentality? I believe the mentality of Lady
Macbeth is more to blame but it seems an action is always more at fault, so I m going to
Life In Ancient China
One of the biggest ethnic group of immigrants was the Chinese. The Chinese flocked to
America. They would often borrow money to make the trip to America and pay the
money back through hard work. The most common jobs for Chinese immigrants were
farming, mining and building railroads. The most common being mining. The Chinese
were considered very hardworking and trust worthy. The Chinese were very family
orientated often sending money back home to their family in china. However, the Chinese
had a common problem. Many of them were addicted to opiates and other drugs. A large
percent of them also had a gambling problem. The average Chinaman, the police will tell
you, would rather gamble than eat any day, and they have ample experience to back them.

They were considered hard working and nice people. In the slums he is welcomed as a
tenant who makes less trouble than the contentious Irishman or the order loving German.
One problem the Italian often had was their unwillingness the learn English forcing them
to hire a middleman to communicate with others. The Italian male immigrants in the
Little Italies were most often employed in manual labor, heavily involved in public
works, such as the construction of roads, sewers, subways and bridges being carried out
at the time in the northeastern cities. The women mainly worked as seamstresses in their
homes. Many established small businesses in the Little
The State Of Public Schools Essay
In Kansas, the dispute between the branches for power began when the judiciary noticed
the disparity in the funding of Kansas school education. The Kansas judiciary came to
the conclusion that the disparity in funding was a violation of Kansas constitution. In an
effort to fix this, the Kansas judiciary ordered the legislative to make a solution.
However, rather than addressing the school funding issue, the Kansas legislative branch
passed a law that removed the Supreme Courts right to appoint local chief judges and
the ability to set district court budgets. Then, the Kansas Governor Sam Brownback,
who is in the executive branch, signed a law that would remove the funding of the
judicial branch if the Kansas Supreme Court ruled against him in the court case
concerning the funding of public schools. The actions of both the legislative and
executive branch of Kansas government disregard the system of checks and balances
because the judicial branch is being punished for doing their job. Therefore, judicial
reviewis vital for a judge in maintaining a consistent balance of power in the government.
In 1789, the Constitution of the United States of America was created and serves as the
law of the land. In the Constitution, there was an establishment of the different branches
of government: the legislative, executive, and the judiciary. In each branch, there are
jurisdictional rights that is given and serves as a guideline for the branches to adhere to.

Ambition In The Time Of The Butterflies
Ambition is the desire and determination to achieve success. It is something that every
person should have to live fulfilling lives, but too much of it can be dangerous. People
would interpret someone s ambition as positive or as negative depending on what it is
they want to achieve. Some people would say that having ambitions that are big will
lead that person to a life of success and happiness. However others might say that those
big ambitions can only lead someone to a life full of misery and disappointments when
they either don t happen or they fail entirely. In both the tragedy Macbeth by William
Shakespeare and the novel In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez, a character is
shown having a negative effect on others and on themselves. According both stories, what
can be determined is that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the tragedy Macbeth, William Shakespeare shows his character Macbeth as a man
with an ambition to become king of Scotland. The reason why Macbeth had
discovered this ambition is because three bearded witches had told him so and he
chose to believe them. His ambition to become king had led to his own downfall at the
end because he changed his image as an honest man into one of a selfish murderer. At
the beginning of the story Macbeth s friends would describe him as an incredibly good
man. He spoke to everyone with respect and a good attitude. Macbeth says, As happy
prologues to the swelling act of the imperial theme I thank you, gentlemen. (1.3.141 142).
However this happy attitude would not stay there for long. Towards the end of the story,
Macbeth had changed completely compared to the first quote. With help from his wife,

Roman Ruins Of Spain Essay
Essay by Kentrell Hardemon Pace
Would you like to see amazing broken down buildings from hundreds of years ago?
Then Spain is the best place to go. I say this because, Spain was under the Roman
Empire s influence for more than 700 years. The Romans helped the Spanish build many
amazing structures and cities, what are now considered Roman ruins. Spain is the place to
visit to see Roman ruins because the Roman Empire s lasting influence/ the history and

its life in this role was not very long an eventually the site was largely abandoned and

Bullying Is The Main Cause Of Suicide
Many may argue that bullying is not directly correlated with the amount of increase in
suicide. They say that depression is the main cause that an individual will commit
suicide. Statistics claim that, Over 50 percent of all people who die by suicide suffer
from major depression (The Over Night). Depression is a contributor to suicide, but teens
can experience depression from bullying. Bullying does in fact cause depression,
Researchers have also discovered a strong link between bullying and depression...
depression is closely related with bullying (No Bully). In this article, it suggests that
bullying greatly impacts the victim to have depression. Depression can cause the victim
to have a low self esteem, anxiety, or miss school because
Causes Of Calcium Uptake From Foliar Application
Calcium Uptake from Foliar Application
Foliar Ca2+ application has been suggested to increase the fruit Ca2+ supply that may,
in turn, reduce fruit Ca2+ deficiency disorders. Spraying with Ca2+ solution reduces
Ca2+ deficiency injury in plants (Kleemann 2000b) e.g. foliar Ca2+ spray reduces
BER incidence of tomato (Schmitz Eiberger, Haefs, and Noga 2002) ; spraying of 0.5%
solution of Calciogreen in glasshouse completely prevents BER incidence of bell pepper
variety Cecil though the fruit mass was reduced(Parađiković et al. 2004) ; spraying of
young tomato with CaCl2 limits the development BER (Schmitz Eiberger, Haefs, and
Noga 2002); spraying of celery with CaCl2 or Ca(NO3)2 completely control blackheart
(Geraldson 1952, 1954). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, direct application of Ca2+ can reduce the symptoms of Ca2+ deficiency
disorder but does not remove them completely (Ferguson and Watkins 1989) and
exogenous Ca2+ may not bound with the cell structure tightly that leads to easy leakage
of it (Ferguson and Watkins 1983).
Calcium Translocation within Plant
Soil solution Ca2+ enters the root apoplast with mass flow of water (Barber 1995) and
is transported to the xylem via apoplastic or symplastic pathways (White and Broadley
2003). Apoplastic pathway consists of cell wall and intercellular spaces where Ca2+
moves with water passively across the gradient of water potential (Karley and White
2009; White 2001). Symplastic pathway consists of cytoplasm where Ca2+ moves from
cell to cell through plasmodesmata (Karley and White 2009; White 2001). Tight
regulation of cytosolic Ca2+ at a very low concentration (0.1 0.2 ОјM) implies that
apoplastic pathway is the main route of Ca2+ translocation across the root cortex
(White and Broadley 2003; Taylor and Locascio 2004; Karley and White 2009).
However, presence of Casparian strip at the root endodermal cells prevents further
movement of Ca2+ towards the xylem. The Casparian strip prevents apoplastic
movement of solutes (Clarkson 1993; White 2001) and suberization restricts the
movement of Ca2+ into the endodermal cells(Moore et
Analysis Of The Man To Send Rain Clouds
The short story The Man to Send Rain Clouds by Leslie Marmon Silko is a
deceptively simple narrative about the death and funeral of an old man of the Laguna
Pueblo tribe of Native Americans. Set in the desert southwest of the United States, the
story is narrated from an omniscient point of view, and describes the discovery of the
old man s body, the preparation of the body for burial, and the interaction between the
family of the dead man and the Catholic priest who lives on the reservation. The author
uses very simple language and unsophisticated descriptions to describe an intricate and
complex relationship between the Christian culture of the priest and the religious culture
of the Pueblo culture. Descriptions of the bleak landscape... Show more content on

As they are wrapping up Teofilo s corpse, Leon ties a gray feather in the old man s hair
with a piece of twine. Ken hands him paint and he decorates the old man s face with
stripes of white, blue, yellow and green stripes. Leon tosses pinches of cornmeal and
pollen into the air. The narrator does not describe the significance of these actions, but
it is obvious that these are ritualistic activities that have to do with funeral rites. The
men wrap the corpse in a red blanket and carry it up to their truck. At this point the
reader becomes aware that the men must have anticipated that Teofilo was dead when
they went out to the sheep encampment. Why else would they have brought the paint,
cornmeal, pollen, and red blanket? The men appear to be filling their parts in a
predetermined drama. Before placing the blanket wrapped body in the back of the truck,
Leon addresses Teofilo s corpse: Bring us rain clouds, Grandfather. (Silko, p. 358).
On their way home, the men encounter the local priest, Father Paul. The priest asks them
if they have located Teofilo, and they demur, telling him only that everything is fine at
the camp. The priest interprets this to mean that Teofilio is well, and he tells them that
the old man is too frail to be left at the sheep camp alone. The men assure him that they
won t be doing that again, and the priest and the men part. The priest believes that they

My Best Friend is Dead Essay
My Best Friend is Dead
I first met Chipper Gleason when I was 5 or 6, when my mother was working with
Chipper s mother Sue teaching music lessons in town. The He Man connection must
have been what initially tipped our parents off that we would be good friends. I
remember my mom asking me if I wanted to play with this kid who had Castle
Greyskull, a large green molded castle that He Man lived inside of with the other
Masters of the Universe. The answer was, of course, Yes! and we met one afternoon
while both my mom and Sue taught lessons at the Church.
We played that first afternoon on the sloping hill in front of the church, on the opposite
side of Main Street from the library. Chipper was a small, wirey boy with bright ... Show

I could not see Chipper every day, in part because he lived the next town over. But
whenever I could convince my parents to drive me, we were off, down the long hill out
of town to the west in the family car, over the river in West Groton, and along the
winding, rising and falling road to his house that always seemed to drag on forever.
Chipper s house, on Squannacook Road in Shirley, was a place that was both
fascinating and at times repulsive. The small, white, New England farmhouse was
crowded up to the side of the road, with almost no space between the front door and
the street. It always seemed to sneak up on me as we came around the last curve in the
car, as if I had been waiting and waiting and then all of a sudden, there it was.
The house made up for its tiny front yard with an expansive back yard that wrapped
around the back of the house. Beyond the mowed back yard a large unkempt field
stretched back to a line of trees in the distance. My favorite part of his yard was a big
old willow tree that sent protective, fuzzy green branches down to the lawn.
When we pulled into his house, we usually parked at the top of a short gravel driveway
that led to a large single car garage, the first garage that I had ever seen. The back of the
garage was converted into a dog pen for two large, noisy wolfhounds that I seldom saw
but
Similarities Between The Hobbit And The Screwtape Letter
The two stories that I related to and learned the most from were The Hobbit by J.R.R
Tolkien and The Screwtape Letters by C.S Lewis. Both revealed things in myself that
in some cases I already saw and pushed away, or that I never knew and helped me
understand myself better. I will begin with The Hobbit. The character that I identified
with was Bilbo. At the beginning of the story, Bilbo is cozy and comfortable with
where he is. He doesn t want adventure even though there is a longing for it inside of
him. Part of me thinks he did not know how to pursue adventure. I liken this part of the
story to the change that has to happen in everyone s life. Whether we like it or not life
changes constantly. We often, like Bilbo, don t see the treasure
Benedictine Values
In general, which of these Benedictine values do you see as being helpful to the process
of doing academic work in a small group? Why?
Respect for the person, listening, and hospitality seem helpful to the process of doing
academic work in a small group. Respect for the person leads to the idea of being open
minded of people regardless of the differences. This would be helpful in an academic
setting because this allows people to hear others. Listening respectful to people around
us. Listening for Benedictine values bring the idea that Listening works best in a class
group because often time some people would want to shut out anyone who expresses a
different idea.
Do you see any of these Benedictine values as irrelevant or not particularly helpful to
academic work in a small group why?
I think Justice would be irrelevant for the academic work in small groups. The reason I
find justice to be irrelevant is because of the lack of help this would make in a groups.
Especially, if someone was not Christian.
In particular did you see any of the Benedictine values at work in your ... Show more

I m usually uncomfortable in group discussions but a person in my group would always
try to bring me into discussions. This person showed interested in everyone s thoughts by
asking questions or involving everyone. This person was always excited to hear everyone
no matter what the circumstance were in class.
Which values do you think you group did not always do implemented?
Luckily, our group all gave most of the Benedictine value. Listening lacks to the people
who would not listen to those with different opinions because of their own set of ideas.
So, if there was a person who gave a different opinion in our group people would have
probably given an uncomfortable environment for the person.
How might a student who is not Christian approach Benedictine values? Can any of the
values be valuable or relevant for a non Christian? Why or why
Persuasive Essay On Pit Bulls
Because there are no witnesses how Goochland, Virginia, resident Bethany Lynn
Stephens died, her two dogs are the suspects in her death. At a news conference on
Friday, investigators disclosed that when Bethany s father searched for her in an area she
often goes, he found her two dogs guarding something.
He thought it was an animal carcass, but he found out it was his daughter s body.
Goochland County Sheriff Jim Agnew said that Bethany was apparently mauled by her
two pit bulls whose combined weight was two times that of Bethany who was just about
100 pounds and stood at 5 foot and 1 inch.
Grisly mauling
Even if a friend of Bethany doubted the police theory, Agnew said that the dogs have
something to do with her death. It placed once more a stigma on the dog breed after other
cases involved Pit Bull attacks on people, including their owners.
Among the evidence that the investigators cited why they believe that it was the two
dogs that mauled the woman were defensive wounds on the hands and arms of 22 year
old Bethany. Agnew said that it indicated she was attacked while alive. He said she
apparently fell to the ground after the attack, lost consciousness, and the Pit Bulls mauled
her to death.
Agnew pointed out that there were no strangulation marks on Bethany, but she had
puncture wounds in the skull. The evidence made the probers rule out homicide.
However, Barbara Norris, a friend of Bethany, questioned the police theory because the
victims raised the two dogs as
Opposing Views On The Issue Of Fast Food
There are various different perspectives on the issue of fast food. Some people believe
that this kind of food has a positive role to play in the world because of its convenience
and low cost; however, I would argue that it is harmful both to the people who eat it and
to society at large.
There are two main reasons for this
Firstly, it is a well known fact that eating too much fast food is extremely unhealthy.
Foods such as fried chicken, hamburgers and chips contain a great deal of fat and salt,
which cause major health problems like high blood pressure, obesity and heart disease,
although I certainly agree that fast food is both cheap and convenient, the illnesses it
causes when we get older are very expensive and it is the taxpayer

candidate is many of his ideas are common sense. Compared to other candidates, a
multitude of Sanders ideas are logical and would help fix countless issues in America.

Formal Vs Informal Onboarding
The formal and informal onboarding program both send a distinct message to the new
hire so it is important to understand the advantages and disadvantages of both. First,
informal plans are unstructured and without an explicit plan. An advantage of the
informal plan is your company will be able to see right away if the new employee can
adjust and learn quickly on their own. It is a sink or swim tactic that puts pressure on
the employee to learn quickly without devoting any money or resources to training the
new hire. Disadvantages of this approach is that the onboarding is very loose without
any support or direction. It does not consider their needs and the process can vary for
every new hire because there is not a system that has the steps... Show more content on

how I understand that he is disappointed that his older manager left that was very close

From as long as I can remember I have always used the internet to do my book reports

online research it only takes a minimum amount of time to find what you are looking

The problem with being able to easily obtain information is not knowing if it is true or

The Importance Of Intercultural Relationship
Intercultural Essay
This intercultural relationship took place this year. it was with one of my co workers.
We have a friendship relationship and clicked pretty well together and rather fast.
When we work together we are very happy to see each other, as this is the only time we
really see each other. Outside of work, we are both busy. This friendshipis great, and is
very balanced. We don t always agree with each other and talk it out, but we also agree
and feels good. With Kate our intercultural relationship changed within stages over time,
developed feelings and situations through the relationship, and key concepts.
Kate and I right away had some differences and were aware of them rather quickly. The
first stage which is racial/cultural awareness. We mostly agree, but they re times were
we don t look eye to eye on something. It s very different, as we do to better ourselves
and learn from each other. The second stage which is, coping stage which develops
proactive and reactive acts to achieve past their challenges. This was a bad stage for
our intercultural relationship was when I was doing proactive acts. It made me push
her away, as it was an ongoing process. I just wanted to understand why we didn t
hangout outside of work. I still don t know to this day, but we dropped it. Our reactive
strategies which only occur once the behavior occurs, is good as we overcome these
well. The third stage which is identity emergence is taking charge of the images of

The Earth s 4.6 Billion Years Of Existence
Throughout the Earth s 4.6 billion years of existence, there have been multiple events
that mark geographical changes as well as biological changes. Each massive event,
(such as a mass extinction) marks the beginning of an eon. An example of an eon is the
Hadean eon and the Archean eon. Next are eras, which represents smaller events such
as the Paleozoic era. Next are periods which are even smaller such as the Cambrian
period. Finally the epochs are the smallest time classifications which subdivide a period
such as the Oligocene epoch.
The Archean eon (the second eon chronologically) spanned from 4 to 2.5 billion years

the mantle, and the core (Lutgens and Tarbuck).
After several millions of years, the atmosphere started to cool down and provided the

about 3.96 billion years ago, and the cooling down of the atmosphere marks the

became larger land masses and later became the foundations for a continent (Lutgens and
Tarbuck).
Another aspect of the Archean Eon that is important was the formation of Earth s
atmosphere and oceans (Lutgens and Tarbuck). Earth s oceans formed from volcanic
discharges of water vapor (Lutgens and Tarbuck). Due to the cooling of the Earth, the
water vapor condensed at the surface and then formed into liquid water (Lutgens and
Tarbuck). The salts that are found in the seawater today are from eroded sediments and
An Avalanche Narrative
DAY 11 I got up, ate my cold mushy oatmeal and prepared for my day s trek. I spent
time looking back on my trip thus far which happens when you re all alone on the world
s largest mountain. I realized that I might not be the sole survivor. When my team
members ran into their tents, they might have been getting their avalanche packs. An
avalanche packis basically the climbing equivalent to an airbag. If you get caught in an
avalanche, you deploy it and it can prevent you from sinking into the avalanche. My
mom told me to buy one before I left for Everest, but those packs can be over a
thousand dollars, there was no way I was going to spend that kind of money on
something I probably wouldn t use. Clearly my mom was right because if I had a pack
I wouldn t have been trapped in the avalanche in the first place which could have been
the case for my team who all probably think I m dead right now. After my little
reflection on how my unpreparedness almost killed me and could still end up killing
me, I began the day s hike. At around 7:00 at night I decided to camp for the night. I
setup my tent and went to sleep.
DAY 12 Oh my God I think this might be it I don t see how in God s name I am
supposed to get out of this. How was I such an idiot why didn t I think about this? All I
had to do was set up camp thirty feet further up on the flat land, but I just had be lazy
and not think about it. First, I didn t buy the pack and now I m gonna die because I
decided to set up camp on an
Communicative Participation And Its Participation
Communicative Participation Communicative participation can be defined as how
individuals participate in a range of discourse activities in contextually situated ways that,
in turn, reflect on the manner of their involvement in culture (Kovarsky, 2003).
Communicative participation varies dramatically based on whom the individual is that is
attempting communication, and what the purpose of the communication is. There are an
extraordinary amount of contexts that can affect the communicative participation as well.
Communicative participation is such a broad term that covers so much, that it is divided
into many layers. These layers are overlapping and construct the whole of communicative
participation. The five layers that work to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first is the example from an article written by Laura Polich, that examines deafness
in Nicaragua. In Nicaragua, deafness is considered a disease that affects more than
just your ability to hear. This religious worldview has influenced how deaf children,
who are so communicatively shut out of an oral world, were (and are) seen by
society: most likely the result of God s wrath brought on by some sin (Polich, 2005, p.
225 226). Being deaf in Nicaragua does not only affect one s ability to hear but also
their ability to participate in society. Deaf individuals in Nicaragua are outcasts, their
disability is thought to be because someone in their family committed a strong enough
sin that God wanted to place deafness on them. For this reasoning, deaf children used
to be hidden from society, it is less common now, however it does still occur. This all
results from the fact that deaf individuals in Nicaragua can not communicate very much
orally. Lacking the ability to speak is considered a serious detriment, because very few
people in Nicaragua had embraced sign language up until recently. In this respect, the
community of Nicaragua had almost no way to communicate with those around them
and were extremely culturally dis valued. Because of this lack of communication, in
Polich s survey (1998) (as cited in Polish, 2005) 40% of people responded to the
question with which [hearing] person living in your
Electronic Dance Music Annotated Bibliography

Kant’s Aesthetic Theory and the Problem of
Particularity...
Kant s Aesthetic Theory and the Problem of Particularity
ABSTRACT: In moving away from the objective, property based theories of earlier
periods to a subject based aesthetic, Kant did not intend to give up the idea that
judgments of beauty are universalizable. Accordingly, the Deduction of Judgments of
Taste (KU, В§ 38) aims to show how reflective aesthetic judgments can be imputed a
priori to all human subjects. The Deduction is not successful: Kant manages only to
justify the imputation of the same form of aesthetic experience to everyone; he does not
show that this experience will universally occur in response to the same objects. This is
what I call Kant s Problem of Particularity. After critiquing Anthony Savile s attempt to...

In moving away from the objective property based or perfectionist theories of the
medieval and early modern periods to this sort of subject based aesthetic, Kant did not
intend to give up the idea that judgments of beauty are universalizable. Accordingly,
much of the first part of the Critique is given to showing how one person s reflective
aesthetic judgments can be legitimately imputed to or expected from all properly situated
human subjects.(3) The famous Deduction of Judgments of Taste (В§ 38) provides a
sketch of this argument. Very briefly, Kant argues that since the faculties under
consideration are required for possible cognition as such, it follows that all who (through
communicating with others reveal their ability to) cognize anything are susceptible to the
same experience of faculties in free harmony, and to the concomitant aesthetic pleasure.
As long as the subject takes himself to be conscientiously beholding the object under
appropriate circumstances (e.g. without interest, prejudice, etc.) he can take his judgment
of taste to imply in an a priori fashion that under similar circumstances other well
functioning human beings likewise will be pleased by it.(4)
Whether or not this Deduction is successful in any regard, it certainly does not achieve
all of the aims that Kant sets for it. For, as Paul Guyer argues, the fact that everyone is
possessed of faculties which make them capable of unifying manifolds under
The Unity Temple By Frank Lloyd Wright
1st Artwork Unity Temple, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, completed in 1908
Frank Lloyd Wright s career was just beginning to take off in Oak Park, Illinois. One
of the most significant projects from his early career is Unity Temple near his home
and studio in Oak Park. Unity Temple was a replacement church for Unitarian
Universalist Church that had burned down in 1905. Unity Temple was not just an
ordinary commission for Wright since he was a parishioner of the Unitarian Church in
Oak Park. When Unity Church burned to the ground in June 1905, Wright was awarded
the commission. He wanted a modern building that would embody the principles of
unity, truth, beauty, simplicity, freedom and reason. For Wright, the church was meant
to be a temple for man to worship god, which coincided with Wright s decision to
abandon the typical New England Unitarian, white steeple, architectural style for a more
modern concrete aesthetic. Also the church s budget was relatively low for a project of
this scale, approximately $40,000. In harmony with Wright s philosophy of organic
architecture, the concrete was left uncovered by plaster, brick, or stone. Wright s
sensitive handling of materials was a defining feature of his architecture from early in his
career. Bring out the nature of the materials, Wright insisted, let their nature intimately
into your scheme. Reveal the nature of wood, plaster, brick, or stone in your designs,
they are all by nature friendly and beautiful. No
The Day Of A Cold And Wet Spring
At the time of responding to this question it is perfectly timed, as finally we have
some lovely weather after the extended winter caused by a cold and wet spring. So
sunshine, blue skies and starry nights along with higher temperatures are finally with
us in the south west. Some Brits will have already made plans to seek warmer weather
and the almost guaranteed sun with warm breezes that come with booking a holiday
in hot spots. Over the years I have had some pretty fabulous holidays overseas and in
the UK and have a few photo s and fond memories to draw upon. These days with a
combination of a husband with a dislike of flying and dogs who we don t wish to put
into kennels, our holidays tend to revolve around our homeland and what treasures we
have found too. From child friendly and latterly teen friendly holidays, to romantic
getaways and action packed outings we have covered a huge array of accommodations,
activities and explored some fantastic places. I can relate to all of the suggestions that
precede the Ciao! Question: where will you be going and which products will you take
with you?

We Love the West:
This year, I turned to Airbnb for inspiration and to find suitable accommodation. From
my shortlist we chose to stay on a boat in Brixham Marina and we have already had our
main holiday which we enjoyed at the end of June anticipating almost guaranteed
sunshine and generous temperatures. Whilst the British weather did not live up to our
expectations our
Dred Scott Case
Dred Scott was born a slave in the state of Virginia around the 1900s or the nineteenth
century. Dred Scott spent his whole childhood has a save. He served the family of
Peter Blow and then as a young adult moved with them to Louis, Missouri. Then, in
the early 1830s, he was sold to Dr. John Emerson. Dr. John was an army surgeon. Due
to his profession, Emerson had to travel frequently and was appointed to various
military posts. Well, Emerson took Scott with him to Fort Armstrong, Illinois in 1833
and Fort Snelling in Wisconsin in the year 1836. To emphasize, both of these forts
were on free soil or slavery was prohibited. To add, Illinois was free under the Northwest
Ordinance of 1787 and Wisconsin was free under the Missouri Compromise... Show more

Lastly, the last way left for them to get back their freedom was to take their case to the
U.S. Supreme Court. So, Dred Scott and his wife took their case to the U.S. Supreme
Court. Then, the nine justices of the Supreme Court heard the case in the month of
February 1856.Well, as the beginning, the chances of winning the case were little or
no. To add, some of the justices (seven) were appointed by pro slavery presidents and
the rest (five) of them were from slave owning families. Well, Dred Scott s lawyers
argued their clients or (Dred Scott and his wife) have lived in a free state or territory
and they should be considered to be permanently free. Well, on the other hand, the
opposition side threw a new tactic or said that the Scotts will never be considered to be
free because the Northwest Ordinance and the Missouri Compromise were declared
unconstitutional. Also, they mentioned that the congress didn t have the power to
completely abolish or put an end to slavery. In the end, the decision of the court was
made on March 6, 1857. Well, seven of the nine judges ruled against Dred Scott. The
chief justice, Roger B, Taney explained that the Scotts, first of all, didn t have the right to
petition because they were African Americans (the African Americans were no

In today s world there is great focus on human resource management (HRM) and its
contribution to the business environment. Humans are the greatest asset to any
organization; the basis on which they exist and are able to perform their daily
operations. HRM is said to be one of the most resourceful benefits of an organization
but at the same time, it s the easiest to get rid of. With this in mind, this paper will
focus on the key points that will be used in making a presentation to a meeting of lime

The HR professional contributes to the organization by continuously evaluating the
effectiveness of the HR function. He and/or she also support change in other departments
and in job practices. To promote the overall success of the organization, one champions
the recognition of the organizational mission, vision, values, goals and objectives.
Finally, the HR professional also assists with determining the measures that will inform
the organization about how well it is succeeding in all of this. Values of an organization
assist in shaping the culture which can be referred to as that s the way we do things
round here as defined by Charles Handy (1987); letting the employees know what the
organization expects from them. One may wonder where this statement came from, but
not only do the HR professionals help in the implementation of these things. As line
managers, they also have a great role to play as they help contribute to the organization
overall mission, vision, values etcetera by ensuring that the culture within their
departments help motivates the employees to give their best and keep in line with the
objectives.
Thus far we have looked at human resource, human resource management and some of its
roles in the organization. It has been said that Human Resource Management can also be
performed by line managers, but who are they. As mentioned above, line managers have a
huge part to play within the organization, ensuring that their department conforms to

  • 2. Ethical Issues In The Madoff Case What is right or wrong? People base their values of right and wrong on what they have learned from their experiences (Ferrell, Fraedrich, Ferrell, 2018). What one person sees as wrong, may be a normal for another. Most people are taught to work hard, save money, and invest for a future retirement. However, when it comes to money, some people lose all principles and standards of behavior. There were several ethical issues in the Madoff case. They include: stealing, cheating, lying, misrepresentation, and deliberate deception. Madoff used the Ponzi scheme or the money pyramid to make his money. In the Ponzi scheme, money was taken from new investors and given to existing customers as earning without being invested. Was this right or wrong? Throughout this case study ethical concerns can be seen on both sides, the investors and Madoff s. Madoff required a $100,000 minimum to invest, was by invitation only, and made each client feel like they were his only client (Ferrell, Fraedrich, Ferrell, 2018). Madoff admitted that when he started committing the fraud, he was desperate for money and thought he could get back on track, but things quickly spun out of control (Ferrell, Fraedrich, Ferrell,
  • 3. Was Macbeth Responsible For Duncan s Death Who out of the Macbeths is more responsible of Duncan s Death? Duncan was a great and noble king to all people. Killing him would have made no sense to anyone if he was such a good guy, unless it was for something they wanted out of it, like the throne. This is what Macbeth was urging and wishing to get being told by three witches that he would take the throne and be crowned king. But Duncan was already king, and the only thing he could do was end his royal highness s life. Macbeth wasn t alone, his dear wife was always there from the start, supporting him too heavily. But who is more at fault? an action or the mentality? I believe the mentality of Lady Macbeth is more to blame but it seems an action is always more at fault, so I m going to

They would often borrow money to make the trip to America and pay the money back through hard work. The most common jobs for Chinese immigrants were farming, mining and building railroads. • 5. The State Of Public Schools Essay In Kansas, the dispute between the branches for power began when the judiciary noticed the disparity in the funding of Kansas school education. The Kansas judiciary came to the conclusion that the disparity in funding was a violation of Kansas constitution. In an effort to fix this, the Kansas judiciary ordered the legislative to make a solution. However, rather than addressing the school funding issue, the Kansas legislative branch passed a law that removed the Supreme Courts right to appoint local chief judges and the ability to set district court budgets. Then, the Kansas Governor Sam Brownback, who is in the executive branch, signed a law that would remove the funding of the judicial branch if the Kansas Supreme Court ruled against him in the court case concerning the funding of public schools. The actions of both the legislative and executive branch of Kansas government disregard the system of checks and balances because the judicial branch is being punished for doing their job. Therefore, judicial reviewis vital for a judge in maintaining a consistent balance of power in the government. In 1789, the Constitution of the United States of America was created and serves as the law of the land. In the Constitution, there was an establishment of the different branches of government: the legislative, executive, and the judiciary. In each branch, there are jurisdictional rights that is given and serves as a guideline for the branches to adhere to. For the judicial

It is something that every person should have to live fulfilling lives, but too much of it can be dangerous. People would interpret someone s ambition as positive or as negative depending on what it is they want to achieve. Some people would say that having ambitions that are big will lead that person to a life of success and happiness. However others might say that those big ambitions can only lead someone to a life full of misery and disappointments when they either don t happen or they fail entirely. The reason why Macbeth had discovered this ambition is because three bearded witches had told him so and he chose to believe them. At the beginning of the story Macbeth s friends would describe him as an incredibly good man. He spoke to everyone with respect and a good attitude. Macbeth says, As happy prologues to the swelling act of the imperial theme I thank you, gentlemen. (1.3.141 142). However this happy attitude would not stay there for long. • 9. Causes Of Calcium Uptake From Foliar Application Calcium Uptake from Foliar Application Foliar Ca2+ application has been suggested to increase the fruit Ca2+ supply that may, in turn, reduce fruit Ca2+ deficiency disorders. Spraying with Ca2+ solution reduces Ca2+ deficiency injury in plants (Kleemann 2000b) e.g. foliar Ca2+ spray reduces BER incidence of tomato (Schmitz Eiberger, Haefs, and Noga 2002) ; spraying of 0.5% solution of Calciogreen in glasshouse completely prevents BER incidence of bell pepper variety Cecil though the fruit mass was reduced(ParaД‘ikoviД‡ et al. 2004) ; spraying of young tomato with CaCl2 limits the development BER (Schmitz Eiberger, Haefs, and Noga 2002); spraying of celery with CaCl2 or Ca(NO3)2 completely control blackheart (Geraldson 1952, 1954). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, direct application of Ca2+ can reduce the symptoms of Ca2+ deficiency disorder but does not remove them completely (Ferguson and Watkins 1989) and exogenous Ca2+ may not bound with the cell structure tightly that leads to easy leakage of it (Ferguson and Watkins 1983). Calcium Translocation within Plant Soil solution Ca2+ enters the root apoplast with mass flow of water (Barber 1995) and is transported to the xylem via apoplastic or symplastic pathways (White and Broadley 2003). Apoplastic pathway consists of cell wall and intercellular spaces where Ca2+ moves with water passively across the gradient of water potential (Karley and White 2009; White 2001). Symplastic pathway consists of cytoplasm where Ca2+ moves from cell to cell through plasmodesmata (Karley and White 2009; White 2001). Tight regulation of cytosolic Ca2+ at a very low concentration (0.1 0.2 ОјM) implies that apoplastic pathway is the main route of Ca2+ translocation across the root cortex (White and Broadley 2003; Taylor and Locascio 2004; Karley and White 2009). However, presence of Casparian strip at the root endodermal cells prevents further movement of Ca2+ towards the xylem. The Casparian strip prevents apoplastic movement of solutes (Clarkson 1993; White 2001) and suberization restricts the movement of Ca2+ into the endodermal cells(Moore et
  • 10. Analysis Of The Man To Send Rain Clouds The short story The Man to Send Rain Clouds by Leslie Marmon Silko is a deceptively simple narrative about the death and funeral of an old man of the Laguna Pueblo tribe of Native Americans. Set in the desert southwest of the United States, the story is narrated from an omniscient point of view, and describes the discovery of the old man s body, the preparation of the body for burial, and the interaction between the family of the dead man and the Catholic priest who lives on the reservation. Ken hands him paint and he decorates the old man s face with stripes of white, blue, yellow and green stripes. Leon tosses pinches of cornmeal and pollen into the air. The narrator does not describe the significance of these actions, but it is obvious that these are ritualistic activities that have to do with funeral rites. The men wrap the corpse in a red blanket and carry it up to their truck. At this point the reader becomes aware that the men must have anticipated that Teofilo was dead when they went out to the sheep encampment. Why else would they have brought the paint, cornmeal, pollen, and red blanket? The men appear to be filling their parts in a predetermined drama. Before placing the blanket wrapped body in the back of the truck, Leon addresses Teofilo s corpse: Bring us rain clouds, Grandfather. (Silko, p. 358). On their way home, the men encounter the local priest, Father Paul. The priest asks them if they have located Teofilo, and they demur, telling him only that everything is fine at the camp. The priest interprets this to mean that Teofilio is well, and he tells them that the old man is too frail to be left at the sheep camp alone. The men assure him that they won t be doing that again, and the priest and the men part. The priest believes that they have
  • 11. My Best Friend is Dead Essay My Best Friend is Dead I first met Chipper Gleason when I was 5 or 6, when my mother was working with Chipper s mother Sue teaching music lessons in town. The He Man connection must have been what initially tipped our parents off that we would be good friends. I remember my mom asking me if I wanted to play with this kid who had Castle Greyskull, a large green molded castle that He Man lived inside of with the other Masters of the Universe. The answer was, of course, Yes! and we met one afternoon while both my mom and Sue taught lessons at the Church. But whenever I could convince my parents to drive me, we were off, down the long hill out of town to the west in the family car, over the river in West Groton, and along the winding, rising and falling road to his house that always seemed to drag on forever. Chipper s house, on Squannacook Road in Shirley, was a place that was both fascinating and at times repulsive. The small, white, New England farmhouse was crowded up to the side of the road, with almost no space between the front door and the street. It always seemed to sneak up on me as we came around the last curve in the car, as if I had been waiting and waiting and then all of a sudden, there it was. The house made up for its tiny front yard with an expansive back yard that wrapped around the back of the house. Beyond the mowed back yard a large unkempt field stretched back to a line of trees in the distance. My favorite part of his yard was a big old willow tree that sent protective, fuzzy green branches down to the lawn. When we pulled into his house, we usually parked at the top of a short gravel driveway that led to a large single car garage, the first garage that I had ever seen. The back of the garage was converted into a dog pen for two large, noisy wolfhounds that I seldom saw but

Both revealed things in myself that in some cases I already saw and pushed away, or that I never knew and helped me understand myself better. I will begin with The Hobbit. The character that I identified with was Bilbo. At the beginning of the story, Bilbo is cozy and comfortable with where he is. He doesn t want adventure even though there is a longing for it inside of him. Part of me thinks he did not know how to pursue adventure. I liken this part of the story to the change that has to happen in everyone s life. Whether we like it or not life changes constantly. We often, like Bilbo, don t see the treasure

  • 14. Persuasive Essay On Pit Bulls Because there are no witnesses how Goochland, Virginia, resident Bethany Lynn Stephens died, her two dogs are the suspects in her death. At a news conference on Friday, investigators disclosed that when Bethany s father searched for her in an area she often goes, he found her two dogs guarding something. He thought it was an animal carcass, but he found out it was his daughter s body. Goochland County Sheriff Jim Agnew said that Bethany was apparently mauled by her two pit bulls whose combined weight was two times that of Bethany who was just about 100 pounds and stood at 5 foot and 1 inch. Grisly mauling Even if a friend of Bethany doubted the police theory, Agnew said that the dogs have something to do with her death. It placed once more a stigma on the dog breed after other cases involved Pit Bull attacks on people, including their owners. Among the evidence that the investigators cited why they believe that it was the two dogs that mauled the woman were defensive wounds on the hands and arms of 22 year old Bethany. Agnew said that it indicated she was attacked while alive. He said she apparently fell to the ground after the attack, lost consciousness, and the Pit Bulls mauled her to death. Agnew pointed out that there were no strangulation marks on Bethany, but she had puncture wounds in the skull. The evidence made the probers rule out homicide. However, Barbara Norris, a friend of Bethany, questioned the police theory because the victims raised the two dogs as

Some people believe that this kind of food has a positive role to play in the world because of its convenience and low cost; however, I would argue that it is harmful both to the people who eat it and to society at large. There are two main reasons for this Firstly, it is a well known fact that eating too much fast food is extremely unhealthy. Foods such as fried chicken, hamburgers and chips contain a great deal of fat and salt, which cause major health problems like high blood pressure, obesity and heart disease, although I certainly agree that fast food is both cheap and convenient, the illnesses it causes when we get older are very expensive and it is the taxpayer

First, informal plans are unstructured and without an explicit plan. An advantage of the informal plan is your company will be able to see right away if the new employee can adjust and learn quickly on their own. It is a sink or swim tactic that puts pressure on the employee to learn quickly without devoting any money or resources to training the new hire. The problem with being able to easily obtain information is not knowing if it is true or not and being able to separate opinion from fact that it has a credible resource to it, that is a disadvantage. Outside of work, we are both busy. This friendshipis great, and is very balanced. We don t always agree with each other and talk it out, but we also agree and feels good. Kate and I right away had some differences and were aware of them rather quickly. The first stage which is racial/cultural awareness. We mostly agree, but they re times were we don t look eye to eye on something. It s very different, as we do to better ourselves and learn from each other. The second stage which is, coping stage which develops proactive and reactive acts to achieve past their challenges. This was a bad stage for our intercultural relationship was when I was doing proactive acts. It made me push her away, as it was an ongoing process. I just wanted to understand why we didn t hangout outside of work. I still don t know to this day, but we dropped it. Our reactive strategies which only occur once the behavior occurs, is good as we overcome these well. The third stage which is identity emergence is taking charge of the images of themselves

Each massive event, (such as a mass extinction) marks the beginning of an eon. An example of an eon is the Hadean eon and the Archean eon. Next are eras, which represents smaller events such as the Paleozoic era. Next are periods which are even smaller such as the Cambrian period. Finally the epochs are the smallest time classifications which subdivide a period such as the Oligocene epoch. The Archean eon (the second eon chronologically) spanned from 4 to 2.5 billion years ago, and is known as ancient life (The Hadean Eon) Also, the eon is subdivided up into four separate eras: Eoarchean, ... The atmosphere was mostly built on hydrogen and helium (Lutgens and Tarbuck). It was at this time that the earth began to separate into its know known layers: the crust, the mantle, and the core (Lutgens and Tarbuck). After several millions of years, the atmosphere started to cool down and provided the production of the first continental crust (Lutgens and Tarbuck). This event took place about 3.96 billion years ago, and the cooling down of the atmosphere marks the beginning of the Eoarchean era (Lutgens and Tarbuck). During this timeline, island arcs started to form, and after a long period of time these islands collided with each other because of subduction (Lutgens and Tarbuck). Due to these collisions, the smaller islands became larger land masses and later became the foundations for a continent (Lutgens and Tarbuck). Another aspect of the Archean Eon that is important was the formation of Earth s atmosphere and oceans (Lutgens and Tarbuck). Earth s oceans formed from volcanic discharges of water vapor (Lutgens and Tarbuck). Due to the cooling of the Earth, the water vapor condensed at the surface and then formed into liquid water (Lutgens and Tarbuck). The salts that are found in the seawater today are from eroded sediments and

I spent time looking back on my trip thus far which happens when you re all alone on the world s largest mountain. I realized that I might not be the sole survivor. When my team members ran into their tents, they might have been getting their avalanche packs. An avalanche packis basically the climbing equivalent to an airbag. If you get caught in an avalanche, you deploy it and it can prevent you from sinking into the avalanche. My mom told me to buy one before I left for Everest, but those packs can be over a thousand dollars, there was no way I was going to spend that kind of money on something I probably wouldn t use. Clearly my mom was right because if I had a pack I wouldn t have been trapped in the avalanche in the first place which could have been the case for my team who all probably think I m dead right now. After my little reflection on how my unpreparedness almost killed me and could still end up killing me, I began the day s hike. At around 7:00 at night I decided to camp for the night. I setup my tent and went to sleep. DAY 12 Oh my God I think this might be it I don t see how in God s name I am supposed to get out of this. How was I such an idiot why didn t I think about this? All I had to do was set up camp thirty feet further up on the flat land, but I just had be lazy and not think about it. First, I didn t buy the pack and now I m gonna die because I decided to set up camp on an

Communicative Participation And Its Participation Communicative Participation Communicative participation can be defined as how individuals participate in a range of discourse activities in contextually situated ways that, in turn, reflect on the manner of their involvement in culture (Kovarsky, 2003). Communicative participation varies dramatically based on whom the individual is that is attempting communication, and what the purpose of the communication is. There are an extraordinary amount of contexts that can affect the communicative participation as well. Communicative participation is such a broad term that covers so much, that it is divided into many layers. These layers are overlapping and construct the whole of communicative participation. The five layers that work to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first is the example from an article written by Laura Polich, that examines deafness in Nicaragua. In Nicaragua, deafness is considered a disease that affects more than just your ability to hear. This religious worldview has influenced how deaf children, who are so communicatively shut out of an oral world, were (and are) seen by society: most likely the result of God s wrath brought on by some sin (Polich, 2005, p. 225 226). Being deaf in Nicaragua does not only affect one s ability to hear but also their ability to participate in society. Deaf individuals in Nicaragua are outcasts, their disability is thought to be because someone in their family committed a strong enough sin that God wanted to place deafness on them. For this reasoning, deaf children used to be hidden from society, it is less common now, however it does still occur. This all results from the fact that deaf individuals in Nicaragua can not communicate very much orally. Lacking the ability to speak is considered a serious detriment, because very few people in Nicaragua had embraced sign language up until recently. In this respect, the community of Nicaragua had almost no way to communicate with those around them and were extremely culturally dis valued. Because of this lack of communication, in Polich s survey (1998) (as cited in Polish, 2005) 40% of people responded to the question with which [hearing] person living in your

Kant s Aesthetic Theory and the Problem of Particularity ABSTRACT: In moving away from the objective, property based theories of earlier periods to a subject based aesthetic, Kant did not intend to give up the idea that judgments of beauty are universalizable. Accordingly, the Deduction of Judgments of Taste (KU, В§ 38) aims to show how reflective aesthetic judgments can be imputed a priori to all human subjects. The Deduction is not successful: Kant manages only to justify the imputation of the same form of aesthetic experience to everyone; he does not show that this experience will universally occur in response to the same objects. This is what I call Kant s Problem of Particularity. After critiquing Anthony Savile s attempt to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In moving away from the objective property based or perfectionist theories of the medieval and early modern periods to this sort of subject based aesthetic, Kant did not intend to give up the idea that judgments of beauty are universalizable. Accordingly, much of the first part of the Critique is given to showing how one person s reflective aesthetic judgments can be legitimately imputed to or expected from all properly situated human subjects.(3) The famous Deduction of Judgments of Taste (В§ 38) provides a sketch of this argument. Very briefly, Kant argues that since the faculties under consideration are required for possible cognition as such, it follows that all who (through communicating with others reveal their ability to) cognize anything are susceptible to the same experience of faculties in free harmony, and to the concomitant aesthetic pleasure. As long as the subject takes himself to be conscientiously beholding the object under appropriate circumstances (e.g. without interest, prejudice, etc.) he can take his judgment of taste to imply in an a priori fashion that under similar circumstances other well functioning human beings likewise will be pleased by it.(4) Whether or not this Deduction is successful in any regard, it certainly does not achieve all of the aims that Kant sets for it. For, as Paul Guyer argues, the fact that everyone is possessed of faculties which make them capable of unifying manifolds under

The Unity Temple By Frank Lloyd Wright 1st Artwork Unity Temple, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, completed in 1908 Frank Lloyd Wright s career was just beginning to take off in Oak Park, Illinois. One of the most significant projects from his early career is Unity Temple near his home and studio in Oak Park. Unity Temple was a replacement church for Unitarian Universalist Church that had burned down in 1905. Unity Temple was not just an ordinary commission for Wright since he was a parishioner of the Unitarian Church in Oak Park. When Unity Church burned to the ground in June 1905, Wright was awarded the commission. He wanted a modern building that would embody the principles of unity, truth, beauty, simplicity, freedom and reason. For Wright, the church was meant to be a temple for man to worship god, which coincided with Wright s decision to abandon the typical New England Unitarian, white steeple, architectural style for a more modern concrete aesthetic. Also the church s budget was relatively low for a project of this scale, approximately $40,000. In harmony with Wright s philosophy of organic architecture, the concrete was left uncovered by plaster, brick, or stone. Wright s sensitive handling of materials was a defining feature of his architecture from early in his career. Bring out the nature of the materials, Wright insisted, let their nature intimately into your scheme. Reveal the nature of wood, plaster, brick, or stone in your designs, they are all by nature friendly and beautiful. No

The Day Of A Cold And Wet Spring At the time of responding to this question it is perfectly timed, as finally we have some lovely weather after the extended winter caused by a cold and wet spring. So sunshine, blue skies and starry nights along with higher temperatures are finally with us in the south west. Some Brits will have already made plans to seek warmer weather and the almost guaranteed sun with warm breezes that come with booking a holiday in hot spots. Over the years I have had some pretty fabulous holidays overseas and in the UK and have a few photo s and fond memories to draw upon. These days with a combination of a husband with a dislike of flying and dogs who we don t wish to put into kennels, our holidays tend to revolve around our homeland and what treasures we have found too. From child friendly and latterly teen friendly holidays, to romantic getaways and action packed outings we have covered a huge array of accommodations, activities and explored some fantastic places. Due to his profession, Emerson had to travel frequently and was appointed to various military posts. Well, Emerson took Scott with him to Fort Armstrong, Illinois in 1833 and Fort Snelling in Wisconsin in the year 1836. To emphasize, both of these forts were on free soil or slavery was prohibited. Then, the nine justices of the Supreme Court heard the case in the month of February 1856.Well, as the beginning, the chances of winning the case were little or no. To add, some of the justices (seven) were appointed by pro slavery presidents and the rest (five) of them were from slave owning families. Well, Dred Scott s lawyers argued their clients or (Dred Scott and his wife) have lived in a free state or territory and they should be considered to be permanently free. Well, on the other hand, the opposition side threw a new tactic or said that the Scotts will never be considered to be free because the Northwest Ordinance and the Missouri Compromise were declared unconstitutional. Also, they mentioned that the congress didn t have the power to completely abolish or put an end to slavery. In the end, the decision of the court was made on March 6, 1857. Finally, the HR professional also assists with determining the measures that will inform the organization about how well it is succeeding in all of this. Values of an organization assist in shaping the culture which can be referred to as that s the way we do things round here as defined by Charles Handy (1987); letting the employees know what the organization expects from them. One may wonder where this statement came from, but not only do the HR professionals help in the implementation of these things.
