Child labour continues to be a problem in India due to issues like poverty, lack of education, and natural calamities. Several laws have been enacted to address the problem, including the Factories Act of 1948, Mines Act of 1952, and Right to Education Act of 2009. Surveys show that many children still work instead of attending school. To overcome this issue, awareness must be raised about education, child labour laws must be strictly enforced, and education must be made freely available to all. With awareness, enforcement of laws, and universal education, it is hoped that child labour in India can be stopped.
