Cheating Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of cheating presents a unique challenge, as it requires a delicate
balance between addressing the ethical implications of cheating while also analyzing its various
forms, causes, and consequences. Exploring this topic involves navigating through a myriad of
perspectives, ranging from the psychological factors driving individuals to cheat to the broader
societal implications of academic dishonesty.
One of the difficulties in crafting such an essay lies in maintaining objectivity while discussing a
subject that can evoke strong emotions and personal experiences. It's crucial to present a
comprehensive overview of the topic without being overly judgmental or dismissive of differing
viewpoints. Additionally, synthesizing relevant research findings, case studies, and real-world
examples to support arguments adds complexity to the writing process.
Furthermore, addressing the topic of cheating requires a nuanced understanding of its
manifestations across different contexts, such as academic settings, professional environments,
and personal relationships. Each context may present unique challenges and ethical
considerations that need to be explored and analyzed thoroughly.
Moreover, crafting a compelling essay on cheating necessitates a thoughtful reflection on
potential solutions and preventative measures to mitigate its prevalence. This involves critically
evaluating the effectiveness of existing policies, educational interventions, and ethical
frameworks aimed at discouraging cheating behavior.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of cheating demands a careful balance of empathy,
critical analysis, and ethical consideration. It requires navigating through various perspectives,
synthesizing research findings, and proposing meaningful solutions to address the complex issue
of cheating in its multifaceted forms.

The Legacy Of Daniel Libeskind
Daniel Libeskind was born in Lodz, Poland on May 12, 1946, to Polish Jewish
parents the year after World War II ended. His parents were Holocaust survivors, but
living in postwar Eastern Europe they found that the formal end of the Holocaust did
not bring an end to Anti Semitism violence. As Libeskind told Stanley Meisler of the
Smithsonian, Anti Semitism is the only memory I still have of Poland. In school. On
the streets. It wasn t what most people think happened after the war was over. It was
horrible. As a child, his parents wanted him to learn an instrument but felt that
bringing a piano into the house would draw too much attention. Thus, they bought
him an accordion, an instrument that could easily be concealed. With this learned
skill, Libeskind reached a small amount of fame at a young age. Libeskind and his
family led a nomadic life: at eleven, he moved with his family to Israel. Here, he
switched to the piano and eventually won an American Israel Cultural Foundation
scholarship, which enabled the family to move to the United States. Consequently,
at thirteen years old, they moved to New York. As Libeskind recalls: I arrived by
ship to New York as a teenager, an immigrant, and like millions of others before me,
my first sight was the Statue of Liberty and the amazing skyline of Manhattan. I have
never forgotten that sight or what it stands for. Although Libeskind continued to
study music and the performing arts, as he grew older he found it to be less and

Whilst you are going about your daily life, do you ever wonder if anyone else is
struggling for their last breath? At this very point, there could be one person with
unfulfilled dreams who would be at a hospital being operated on. Imagine if you
were the unlucky one, your family would be devastated and crying. Well, you are a
fortunate one, being able to study and learn something new each day. As for me, I
would like to give to kids who are less fortunate, who struggle with everyday tasks. I
want to give them something positive in their lives: support.

With busy lives, it can be hard to find time to volunteer. It may also be difficult to
donate since all of you does not have a stable income, but if you would just save up
your Christmas presents and some of your money, you can make a difference to the
children. The benefits of volunteering are huge to you, and your community. Unpaid
volunteers are often the glue that pull a community together. Volunteering allows you
to associate with your community and make it a better place. Even if you help out
with the smallest tasks, it can make a real difference to them and the organizations in
need.
Doing volunteer is very meaningful and interesting, and it can be an energizing
escape from your daily routine. You can finally loosened up from your excessive
amount of work in this city and do a good cause in the meantime. Volunteering also
provides you with improved creativity and vision that can motivate you and carry
over into your personal and professional life.

Macular Degeneration (MD)
As humans, we don t always see with our eyes, but often with our imagination
(Grunwald, 2016). Often times as people we never realize how useful our vision
really is to us. You really don t think about something like that until it would actual
happen to you. Throughout this essay, you will learn how the body is affected by
Macular Degeneration(MD). Different signs and symptoms, as well as the etiology
of MD, will be discussed. In the following, diagnosis tests and treatments may also
be listed in order to help others who would like to know more about MD. Not to
mention, you will learn the incidence and progression of MD. Furthermore,
information though agencies and associations, as well as new research about MD
will be given. Macular Degeneration... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Did Margery Happened In William Shakespeare s
Romeo...
Margery was sitting alone in her deck chair overlooking the pebbled beaches of
Westward Ho! Where she moved after her and her husband retired. She was
reading Romeo and Juliet to herself for comfort, and she thought back to the time
she read the book to the love of her life. She reminisced about her time in the RAF
hospital during World War two. It all started on a cold, dark and gloomy night,
where all you could see in the sky was planes being blown up over the Northfork
coastline . Margery was looking up at the sky imagining everything that was going
on. She suddenly heard a siren going off, and instantly knew what it meant, a plane
had gone down and there was men who needed help. Margery rushed to the front to
help out in anyway possible, she was there and that was when she saw him lying
there on a stretcher being rushed into surgery, he was screaming in agony because
the pain was too much for him to bear. Margery knew that the screaming was a
good thing because it meant that his burns were not that deep and he could be
saved. Margery rushed into the infirmary to help care for the rest of the men that
were taken down in the bombings by the Luftwaffe, a swarm of the Messerschmitt

Herod The Great Influence
Herod the Great was the consummate politician. He obtained his power to rule
from Rome through political alliances, friendships and marriage. He was the son
of Antipater, an Arab who converted to and practiced Judaism. Herod married
Mariamne, a princess of the Hasmonean dynasty, in part to bring about a cessation
of hostilities between himself and the Hasmoneans. The Hasmoneans formed the
Hasmonean Dynasty and were known as a group of priestly Jewish leaders. Herod
s Temple was another political move, an effort to further ingratiate himself the
Jewish people he sought to rule through Rome s authority. Herod hoped his rule
would be easier and his reign secured by keeping order and peace in Palestine and
appeasing his subjects was part of his plan. In spite of his political motives for
refurbishing the Temple, Herod did show some measure of good faith towards the
Jews in the construction and administration of the Temple. He ensured the
construction was completed by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Originally built by Solomon, the Temple s basic layout was similar to the
Tabernacle first constructed during the Exodus period under the leadership of
Moses. It was there that the Glory of the LORD resided signifying the special
relationship between the one true God and Israel, His chosen people. The presence
of the glory of the LORD was also manifest in the Temple built by Solomon. Herod
sought to make his temple grander than the one constructed under the rule of
Solomon. He started by constructing walls around the peak of the temple mount and
backfilling these walls to create a large plateau or platform on which to build the
temple. Part of this wall exists today and is known as the Western Wall or Wailing
Wall. Muslims currently control the temple mount and entry to this area is highly
restricted. The Western Wall is one of the few places where Jews and others can

Universities Are Better Than Medieval Universities
Medieval universities were mostly located in Italy, France,Spain,Portugal and
England during the late 11th to 13th. Comparing Medieval universities to nowadays
colleges and universities, there are a lot of difference. To know the difference, we
have to trace back to the time period and to know the history background which is
the Middle age . After the collapse of the western Roman Empire, the population of
Europeincreased as technological. The middle age itself can be divided into three
main parts which are Early, the High, and the Late Middle Ages. The rising of the
population makes education becomes more popular. People at that time started to
aquire knowledge. A group of people gather together and learn is called university.

Although most of those were liturgy and prayer, some of those were boast true
intellectuals. Monasteries were one kind of learning place during that time period.
Compare to nowadays universities, initally medieval universities did not have
physical facilities such as main campus. The classes were mostly been taught at
place that avaliable. Some of them even learned at home or churches. A university
was not just a physical space but a collection of individuals gathered together as a
universitas. Nowadays universities all have their own buildings and campus. Some
of them even have yards, playing ground and many other facilities. We can say that
the medieval universities are more simple but nowaday universities are more
complicated . However, medieval universities are slowly began to rent or construct
buildings for the purpose of teaching. There were three main types which depends on
who was paying the teachers. In Bologna, students hired and paid for the teachers. In
the other hand, in Paris, churches were responsible to pay for the teachers.
monasteries were very common in England and some of those were really focus on
studying knowledge. There were also something interesting difference between these

The Great Train Robbery By Michael Crichton
The reason why a person wants to go through with a plan or certain action is called
motive. There are many different examples of motives and the people who had
those motives. The person may or may not follow through with an action
depending on how much the motive drives the person. In The Great Train Robbery
by Michael Crichton, Edward Pierce has a motive for committing a very difficult
crime. Pierce s motive for committing this crime is to seek more power for himself.
Even though he is already well off, Pierce wants more power so he commits the
train robbery. Pierce seeks power because he has already gotten a taste for it. Pierce
is described as a gentleman because of his speech and manner (Crichton 5). The way

sheets that cover or line the body. Connective tissue provides structural and functional
support. Muscle tissue contracts tissue to produce movement. The Nervous tissue
senses, conducts, and processes information.
Epithelial tissue is packed close together with little or no interstitial fluid or other
matrix between them to form a continuous sheet that lines the body. Epithelial tissue
gets its oxygen and nutrients from nearby blood vessels in the connective tissue.
Connective tissue is the most widely distributed tissue in the body. Connective tissue

Purpose:
How do different concentrations of Hydrochloric Acid (0.1 M, 0.5 M, 1.0 M, 2.0 M)
affect the rate of reaction when reacting with Magnesium ribbon strips?
Hypothesis:
If the hydrochloric acid has a greater concentration (2.0 M), there will be a greater
reaction rate than with a lower concentration (1.0 M, 0.5 M, 0.1 M). This is because
if there is a greater concentration, the chance of the reactants colliding is greater, thus
leading to a faster reaction and therefore a faster reaction rate. (Clark, Jim)

Since there are pros and cons to each and everything there are a few disadvantages as
well.
There are capacity balancing problems. The way that you carried your supplier
manufacturer relation previously gets disturbed and therefore working with the same
supplier under the same environment gets a little difficult.
There is a decreased flexibility. The same problem that we mentioned above is that
working or carrying out two different functions under the same roof creates a higher
level of difficulty for them.
Creates a barrier to market entry. As we saw before as well that whenever there is
a vertical merger the firm becomes stronger and it creates a market barrier for the
other firms to enter. This perfectly gets associated with the acquisition that we have
in this case because turning out to be a market leader after a second largest
acquisition in this case makes it a market leader of a perfect sort.
EFFECTS OF THE ACQUISITION:
REVENUE:
The revenue for ZF TRW automotive initially after the merger was $ 4442 Million.
Three months after the merger the revenue increased to $ 4593 Million. This was
mainly because of the stature of the acquisition perceived in the automobile market

Analysis
Problem based learning (PBL), is the using of real world patient problems as the
educational context for teaching medical students basic and clinical sciences, as
well as clinical reasoning and problem solving processes . This week s reading
revealed varied positive effects of the PBL on academic performance, clinical
performance, and levels of satisfaction in learning.
Problem based learning is used in many medical schools is found to have several
advantages, including promotes deeper learning, self directed, learner centered,
improves team working skills, and facilitates lifelong learning, on the other hand, the
PBL approach has a number of disadvantages, such as individual learning needs may
over ridden by group learning needs, and this approach may not suit the learning
styles of some students.
Application
As a student, I found peer teaching is enjoyable for students and peer teachers.
Allowing a students to take turns between being the teacher and the learner, will
achieve benefit from explaining their own personal understanding of the material to
another, and from hearing the same material from the others understanding or
viewpoint. In this model, students spend time summarizing information, assessing the
work or ideas of a peer, and explaining rationales. All of these meaningful activities
promote critical thinking and long term retention

It is usually imposed by a crown court. A magistrate s court can also impose this
order however this can only be done after a person has been convicted of an offense
that is deemed to be punishable with a prison sentence. If the magistrates court can
be satisfied that the offender has committed the offence in question they can impose
the hospital order without the need to record a conviction. The court must listen to
the evidence received by two doctors and their evidence must satisfy the court that
the offender is suffering from a mental illness as described under the definition

They must also assert the court that appropriate medical treatment is available for

The Fuel Of Diesel Cars
Diesel Cars have never been able to take a proportional share of the Automotive
market (in the US anyway). 2 Litre TDI Volkswagen Passenger Cars did the
impossible for quite a while; until it came to light that they were cheating on
emissions tests; likely killing diesel s future as a fuel. A year before Charles and
Frank made their first car, Rudolf Diesel patented the design for diesel powered
combustion engine. He believed that this would revolutionize the industry, because
diesel fuel harbored a higher concentration of energy per gallon (132Г—106 vs
155Г—106 joules, gasoline and diesel respectively; in terms of energy density).
The problem is that the exhaust is typically dirtier due to the much oilier nature of
the fuel. Diesel however, has a potential to be just as clean as gasoline is, but the
trade off is the added efficiency; Volkswagen Passenger cars cheated and lied about
the former to pad the latter, effectively killing the fuel s future. VW AG was
installing a Robert Bosch made defeat device, despite Bosch not condoning the way
it was used. The software within had an advanced algorithm that would figure out
when the TDI engine was being tested (is the car on a dyno i.e. not moving etc.).
During testing times, the engine would optimize for clean emissions, at all other
times 2 Litre TDI Volkswagen Passenger Cars were maximizing mileage to the
detriment of the environment. Traditionally diesel cars are heavier and costlier than
their petrol powered counterparts. Not
Oedipus The King Teiresias Analysis
In the play, Oedipus the King by Sophocles, Oedipus spends all his life trying to
prevent a prophecy he had heard from coming true. To prevent it, Oedipus goes to
Thebes and on his way, Oedipus kills a man who turns out to the king of Thebes,
Laius. Thebes is under a curse and the control of a Sphinx, and if Oedipusanswers the
riddle of the Sphinx then he can free Thebes and become the king. Oedipus
answers the riddle correctly and becomes the savior of Thebes and marries the
queen, Jocasta, who was the wife of Laius. Because he marries Jocasta and killed
Laius, the prophecy comes true; however, Oedipus does not know that the
prophecy is true until later in the play. Teiresias is a blind prophet, who Oedipus
asks to come to Thebes to see who the killer of Laius is. After Teiresias comes to
visit Oedipus, he then spends the rest of his life in denial of what really happened. In
Oedipus the King, Teiresias plays the role of showing Oedipus arrogance and
ignorance through foreshadowing and dramatic irony.
In the scene where Oedipus forces Teiresias to visit him, Teiresias proves Oedipus
arrogance when Teiresias declares, You are the cursed polluter of this land (353).
Teiresias reveals how arrogant and ignorant Oedipus actually turns out to be when
he says this to Oedipus. Oedipus acts surprised and exclaims, Have you no shame at
all? (354), which reveals how Oedipus believes Teiresias is wrong and that he is not
the reason for why Thebes is cursed. However, through

Reflection Essay I would describe my writing process as a fairly simple one. First I
would choose a topic that appealed to me. Secondly, I would just sit down and start
writing. Lastly, I usually wrote my paper in parts. I d skip the introduction and
conclusion till the very last tasks, so I always wrote my body paragraphs first. A
challenge I faced would be that I had writer s block for a few of my projects because
I did the writing structure out of order; specifically in The Texas Chain Saw
Massacre and Language and Power essays. The struggle was that I didn t create a
thesis before writing the body paragraphs, so I had no idea what I was writing.
Most of the time I came up with my points on the spot, which was quite
challenging. Sometimes I couldn t express what I wanted on paper clearly. The
ideas were in my head, but I didn t know how to form a sentence for them. I got
through the writer s block by looking through the readings and doing research if
needed. Doing this helped my papers reach the requirements for completion. The
benefit of writing my body paragraphs for these essays was that I had a few ideas
on what I could form my thesis on. Another challenge I encountered would be that
I often started a paper late or I didn t give myself enough time to finish a writing.
This was applicable to my satirical piece and rhetorical analysis. I m pretty sure I
came up with my idea a few days before my first

Being the primary users of this report, the three of you want Carruthers Poultry
Products Inc. (CPP) to grow as a business. CPP falls under the distribution segment of
the Canadian poultry industry and has much potential. Because you want to make
sound business investments that will help you expand as a business and receive
more dividends, performance evaluation is a key objective. Also, after having looked
over the financial statementsand finding the cash value to be in the negatives and
equity to be comparatively lower than liabilities, I understand that net income
maximization is crucial at this point in time. Bruce being the oldest out of the
owners, is potentially looking forward to retire soon and will be in favour of business
decisions that deliver in the short term. Marcus is interested in this entrepreneurial
venture only for the lifestyle aspect of it. This means that he wants the company to
expand and be successful. Samantha will be interested in business propositions that
will not only benefit in the short term, but will also benefit in the long term as she
sees herself working as the owner of CPP in the future. Canada Revenue Agency
(CRA) is a secondary user of your financial statements for tax purposes. CRA wants to
ensure that the information provided is audited. As CPP is looking to make an
investment in other poultry businesses in the potential future, I recommend that it

Country Snapshots--China
Nowadays, China, the emerging market in Asia, contains huge business opportunities.
At the same time, because of the different culture and history, the characteristics of
Chinese society including its source of power, social order, and solidarity, is actually
very different from the West. The big difference is that Chinais a relationship oriented
society. For this reason, how can Westerner adapt the ways of doing business in
China? Here are three recommendations for the entrepreneurs that want to enter the
Chinese market.

Dealing your business with key person is important for growing the relationship in
China. Building up good relations with government officials is not always wrong.
This is indeed the key to the success during a short period of time.
пЃ¬Indirect Communication Style
The communication style in China is indirect. For Chinese people, the conversation
is one way to build relationships, while in the West, it is to exchange information
effectively in order to get things done as soon as possible. It is uncommon that the
company gets the business done in the first time (Wang).
Very few Chinese who do business directly cut to the chase; they often talk a few
pleasantries with number of disparate topics at first. An example is asking a
government officer Zhang, How is your son? Do his college things all go well? Even
so someone may think that pleasantries are unnecessary, it is a perfect time to work
on your relationship with others. Do not underestimate this part, you need to fully
prepare before you start conversation with the trivial things seemingly insignificant to
the other party. Take the prior conversation for example, in the first place
George F. Handel s Piangero La Sorta
On March 29th, 2017, I attended the Junior recital of LeAnna Fleming singing
soprano. My favorite piece in the recital was Piangero la sorta mia written by
George F. Handel. The soloist well sang this piece. Piangero la sorta mia is an
opera seria meaning that it is a very serious piece and it is also a ternary piece. The
melody of this piece had very large and disjunct leaps. The soloist had a large range
to work with throughout this piece as well. With the harmony, I found that the A
part of the piece was in a major key and the B part was in a minor key. The texture
of this piece was homophonic because the soloist had the accompaniment of a piano.
With the rhythm, the A part was slow and drawn out while the B part of more

The city of Omelas holds a procession whose happiness and prosperity is based
from the abuse of a child. In every way do they try to justify their reasons for
continuing to allow that child to be imprisoned in a basement for years with it
providing a sense of happiness, prosperity life. For the people who reside in that
town, no one seems to want to challenge it, to physically attempt to do something
because the simple thought of throwing away their entire happiness and worth for
a single being is nearly irrational. Where most stay to be raised under this corrupt
society, I refuse to do so I would leave. I would leave this town simply in search for
answers: to find a person or something that hasn t been raised in the same way of
the city of Omelas and its corrupted structure to hopefully awaken and reveal an
unknown perspective, side truth. Everyone who remains in the city of Omelas is
subject to the same view one way or another. Despite the one time in their lives, as
adolescents especially, where they were filled with guilt, anger any type of remorse

They raise their kids off the idea that they have to better their lives apart from the
child who s being locked up in the basement. Their kid s life should and will reflect
the opposite. Yet, I want to find answers to challenge it. I would want to find
someone who hasn t been raised in that view where everyone came to accept it and
their every being was influenced by it. These answers have to lie somewhere beyond
this city, where it hasn t been touched by the mentality of this town, by how their
happiness and prosperity is derived from, where it hasn t been deceived or subjected
to that standard way, and most importantly, isn t being clouded from delivering the

Serial Killer Sociology
The idea of serial killers has intrigued us all. today s society profits off them with new
television series and biographies of our most infamous killers. Psychologists and
sociologists alike want answers as to what makes a serial killer kill. Scientists may
explore serial killing through a sociological lens to see if there have been any
findings to predispositions of serial killersdue to social circumstances. This way, they
may have an advantage to preventing serial killers from developing. While exploring
this, it will be necessary to determine the issues with defining serial killing and
exploring different models that pertain to the research. In the end, the goal is to
clarify findings, compart test results, and determine if a sociological... Show more

The first lens a sociologist will look through is the mass media and its relations to
society. A growing population with unlimited access to meeting strangers become
the norm. After the industrial revolution there was less of a need for farm workers
and more of a need for factory workers. As society began to urbanized, people were
forced to create and live in a population where one did not know the name of the
person living next to them. Kevin Haggerty And Ariane Ellerbrok believed that this
rushed movement of strangers ...proved to be a key precondition for the emergence
of serial murder, given that a defining attribute of serial killers is that they prey on
strangers... ( Haggerty,Ellerbrok 1). As time went on and technology began to
develop into more complex networks, the Internet paved the way in enabling you
to meet strangers through chat rooms and social media. The Internet became a
tool of serial killers as a way of meeting victims and having a disguise. The World
Wide Web also made serial killing a famous act. T.V shows, books, and movies all
get money by glorifying serial killers. Actresses like charlize theron, who played
wuornos in the movie monster, earn ( Keya, M.A., 25) and popular movies and
books such as Silence Of The Lambs, Kiss The Girl, and Taking Lives (Krueger 3)
have dramatically over idolized serial killers and their actions. Dexter Morgan, a
charming yet twisted young character from a T.V. series has been admired for being
a vigilante killer... who (is), taking out the trash of society ( Keya, M.A., 9). Killers
such as Jeffrey Dahmer, who committed the rape, murder, and dismemberment of
seventeen men and boys between 1978 and 1991, and Jack The Ripper, who killed
and mutilated prostitutes in East London in 1888 , have become common household
names. That is the next lens they look through, the household. We will often look to a

Institutions In American Government
The institutions have very important roles in the American government. Each
institution such as Congress, Executive, Judiciary, and Bureaucracy have a wide
range of responsibilities ultimately depending on how they function to serve the
country. Congress is a very crucial piece that ties in with the U.S. government, it s
considered the most important representative institution in American government.
The three main functions of Congress include representing Americans, lawmaking,
and impeachment. Representing the citizens of America, members of Congress work
to serve their constituents. With bicameral legislature that the Constitution has
granted them consists of the House of Representatives and the Senate. Throughout

Military power, the Cabinet, White House Staff, and the Executive Office of the
President all contribute to the function of this institution. One of the noteworthy
duties the president is granted from the Constitution is to serve as commander in
chief when it comes to the armed forces, giving the president control of the
establishment of defense. Filling the role of commander in chief, the president has
the highest authority of the several international and domestic security agencies,
allowing him to direct the agencies actions as he sees fit. The Cabinet and the White
House Staff advise the president as to what action he should take regarding the issues
that affect the United States. Depending on the issues being discussed with the
president, the Cabinet contains fifteen departments that work to serve different
aspects of America ranging from agriculture to veteran affairs. Meanwhile the White
House Staff, gives advice to the president on a wider range of things regarding
politics. Furthermore, the Executive Office of the President is a key factor in the
institutional presidency. The EOP agencies execute management tasks for the
president at his discretion. Although there are several agencies in the EOP, they all
vary in importance depending on the president s desires. Even though the authority of
the agencies vary, the Office of Management and Budget stays the most powerful. The
tasks the OMB handle intertwine with presidential responsibilities such as: preparing
national budget, designing the president s program and reporting on agency
activities. Every factor that undergoes the institutional presidency creates a properly
functioning executive portion of the four
How Does Anderson Use Auteur Theory In The Movie
Magnolia
After viewing and an examination of one of Paul Thomas Anderson success film
Magnolia , I have analysed that Anderson uses multiple themes involving regret and
loneliness in the film which is connected to auteur theory. What I am going to
examine is: How were the themes and the characters are related? How did Anderson
s filmtechniques effect in the film? And why did Anderson use his similar style
within the film? These questions are to give an understanding that focuses mainly on
auteur theory in the film.
The film takes place in San Fernando Valley where it revolves around eleven
characters about their stories in one particular day. These stories have a little
connection with each other as it involves dealing with their past and having ... Show

According to Sarris, The second premise of the auteur theory is the distinguishable
personality of the director as a criterion of value. Over a group of films, a director
must exhibit certain recurrent characteristics of style, which serves as his
signature. The way a film looks and moves should have some relationship to the
way a director thinks and feels. (Sarris, 1962). Anderson uses his similar style in
other films, including Magnolia because as an auteur director creates films with
their unique signature, it makes the audiences to naturally recognize their work.
His unique signature acts as his personality to focus on recurring themes within his
work. The theme he usually used in most of his films deals with regret and
loneliness, this includes Magnolia as well as his other films like Hard Eight ,
Boogie Nights and There Will Be Blood . Another style in his films is his film
techniques such as the symmetry shot, Steadicam, the whip pan and the use of
music. For example, the whip pan was used in Magnolia , Boogie Nights and Hard
Eight . Therefore, Anderson s style used in his films to show his unique signature for
the audience to recognize his

at a relatively affordable price, many Canadians are finding themselves taking trips

However, the ability to travel in a given destination of choice will require the
ability to drive a car. This has created a large demand for cars that can be rented,

The Kennett Delta Parade
Parade A parade is a public possession causing some of these to be celebrate for a
special day or event. People can even win prizes for being in them. I attended the
Kennett Delta Parade on September 29th. I really enjoyed watching it! I thought it
was the longest parade, but it had so much entertainment. In summary, the parade
included the police department, tractors, modern cars, floats, marching units,
school bands, school clubs, and sport teams from different areas. The parade even
carried the delta fair queen and maids. My favorite section of the parade were the
floats considering some people get so creative decorating. The floats were
awarded. First place won $1000, second place won $600, third place won $450,
fourth place won $350, and fifth place won $250. Some people bring in their
competitive side, which makes it really amusing to watch. At the same time, I felt
like I was part of the community when I attended the Kennett Delta Parade.
Parades combine some of my favorite things: community, faith, family, patriotism,
and simply being involved. Events like these bring everyone together. However, I
chose this specific event because I show up every year and really enjoy coming to
watch. Not only is it thrilling, but it also keeps me from staying home. I will
continue to attend to this event in the future because every year it is different. I
surely do not plan on missing any of it. The sensation of the Kennett Delta Fair
Parade is something I look forward to every year.

Descriptive Essay On Lynyrd Skynynd
I have not been to many concerts in my life, so I did not know what to expect
when I went to see Lynyrd Skynyrd in concert last month. A few years ago, I saw
Celine Dion in concert and was very impressed by her beautiful stage, the infallible
theatrics of her performers, and the wardrobe changes. I expected the Lynyrd Skynyrd
concert to be similar, but it was nothing like that at all. Concerts can vary in
considerable ways; everything from the stage set up, performance, and the audience
can completely change the concert goers experience.
The Celine Dion concert had a very elaborate stage with beautiful props and
decorations. Each seemed to magically change to match every new song she sang. I
was expecting a comparable lay out at the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert. Their concert,
however, was just the opposite. While waiting for Lynyrd Skynyrd to perform, I
noticed that the stage was sparse and unimpressive. The only thing that really caught
my eye was a baby grand piano on the left side of the stage. The other items on stage
were just typical musical instruments that you would expect to see at any rock
concert. The only thing that changed throughout the concert was a cheap backdrop
that would occasionally change to fit the song.
As Celine came out on stage and started to perform her first song, everything was
choreographed perfectly. Celine, her band, and her backup dancers, impeccably
executed each song. The Las Vegas style influence on her show was undeniable.

closely following the signing of the treaty dividing Ireland into sections and features
the resulting conflict between the diehards who want a united, free Ireland, and the
free staters, who support the treaty, with this conflict representing the clash of
fanatical nationalism and practicality, of idealism and a recognition that what the
people truly wanted was peace. The play also explores some of the... Show more

However, the converse of this is also true. When, in the second act, the Boyles
become apparently more affluent, we can see a greater degree of affection come
to the fore of the relationship. The windfall of the will causes Juno to treat Boyle
less as a child who must be nagged and scolded to perform any useful, or at least
less detrimental, role in the family she holds so dear, and more as the head of his
family, a role she previously fulfilled. This change in attitude is regarded by Boyle
as him merely him finally getting the respect he believes he deserves.
I m masther now, an I m goin to remain masther This period of happiness is quickly
dispelled when it is revealed that Boyle has deceived the family, allowing them to
continue to spend money that he knows they do not have and are never going to
get. This demonstrates to us his inability to accept any form of responsibility and
signals the end of the period of good luck for the Boyles and the culmination of the
intertwining storylines of the play. In the third act the affection that marks Boyle and
Juno s relationship I the second act is dispelled entirely, only to be replaced by bitter
conflict and the eventual dissolution of their entire family. Throughout the play, Juno
s main purpose is to support and hold together her family but in this final act all her
efforts are worthless as the actions and attitudes of the other members of
The Defendants Eugene Wong And Mary Wong
The Defendants Eugene Wong and Mary Wong had been hired to care for 3 month
old infant, Kwok Wei by the infant s parents, The Jiangs, due to heavy 12 hour per
day workdays. Because of their workload, the infant s parents felt 24 hour care was
needed for their child, and therefore responded to a newspaper ad for care
(advertised by the Defendants). Upon entering a legal, binding contract for care, The
Jiangs were told that DefendantMary Wong would be providing much of their baby s
care and that her husband, Eugene Wong, would also be tending to Kwok Wei s
needs as well. The agreement was that the infantwould sleep in a crib located directly
next to the Defendant s bed. The Defendants were to provide care in their one
bedroom apartment, located in Manhattan, New York (New York Times, 1993). On
the evening of July 3, 1988 The Jiangs visited their child for the first time (NY
Times). Four days later (July, 7, 1988) about 6:30 am, Defendant Mary Wong placed
a call to the infant s father to inform him that his baby could not be awaken and that
the baby was dead. At that time explained she that the baby had been crying the
previous night continuously from about 12 midnight until 2:00 am, the baby had
been given gripe water (a Chinese remedy), and eventually everyone went to sleep.
Defendant Mary Wong also stated that when she and her husband awoke the next
morning they found the baby unconscious and stated he had turned black . According

Studying shamanism from the perspective of the insider is legitimate and valuable

The Proposition That Different Personalities Contribute...
The purpose of this assignment is to explore the Proposition that Different
Personalities contribute to Effective Teams . Learning styles is defined as the
process that learners use to sort and process information (Cano, Garton Raven, 1992).
Eysenck (1978) who developed the personality theories of Extraversion (E),
Neuroticism (N) and Psychoticism (P), noted that personality and learningare closely
related. Furthermore it was also found that there is a large overlap between
personality and learning styles(Jackson Lawty Jones, 1996) and Duff, Boyle,
Dunleavy and Ferguson (2004) state that an individuals learning orientation and
approach to learning, is partially determined by their personality. There is a lot of
research (Duff Duffy, 2002; Lhori Posey, 2003; Coffield et al., 2004; Reynold
Vince, 2007; Welsh et al., 2007; Hornyak et al., 2007; Herbert Stenfors, 2007;
Sievers, 2007; Hyde, 2007; Kayes, 2007; Garcia et al., 2007; Demirbas Demirkan,
2007; Armstrong Mahmud, 2008; Li et al., 2008) that shows people have a
dominant learning style but can also have a mixture of others. In this assignment I
will provide evidence off different theories which support learning styles and
investigate different learning models such as Kolbs (1984) and Honey and
Mumford (1986). Different personalities can depict suitable team roles but in order
to decide if these contribute to effective teams I will examine team theories such as

C. Action Planning Steve Reider
The goal for Poplar Springs Hospital is that we keep moving forward as a facility
and become more action oriented and less discussion oriented. There are many
priorities that each Sr. Leadership member has that sometimes creates struggles and
prevents the team from staying on track. In order to help accomplish our goals is
to bring discussion to our Sr. Leadership team to help define action items that need
to be completed as a team. This will help define roles of each team member, and it
also creates accountability and responsibility. Each week action items will be
defined and weekly past action items will also be reviewed. Action items will be
public and placed on a flip chart.
Each action item will be assigned a team member who will be responsible, a start
date, target date, and updates will be given weekly until completed. Steve started the
process by stating his action items. Items were written on the flip chart by Tina.

ways in which both the Conventional thinking style and Affiliative thinking style
manifest in my life and work, none of which were all that evident until I explored my

Part II: Impact on Management Style In relation to the four functions of management:
planning, organizing, leading, and controlling, it is evident how my personal
thinking styles impact the way in which I manage. First and foremost, I think that my
Conventional Style of thinking impacts my management styles the most. Although I
am conventional in my practices, I am not dogmatic. I understand the importance in
not remaining steadfast with something if it is continually not working, and I also
understand the importance of being able to adapt to what does work. When it
comes to planning and organizing I do like to stick to the rules before anything
else. But as mentioned before, I often deviate from those rules if they do not appear
to be producing adequate results. I will have to admit that my Conventional Style of
thinking does give me comfort in times of great stress, but I do not see that as a
negative practice, but more of a practical application to individual differences.
Another one of my thinking styles that I feel highly impacts my managing style in
relation to planning and organizing is my Achievement Oriented Style. Although
this style was not identified as either my primary or back up thinking styles, I do
believe it plays a large role in my effectiveness as a manager. In

In the state of Oklahoma, 24.7% of the adult population (aged 18+ years) over

cigarette smoking among adult s ranges from 9.3% to 26.5%. Oklahoma ranks 47th
among the states (State Highlights Oklahoma 2011). Tulsa s smoking community has
a 24.6 percentage for smoking making the city relative to the state of Oklahoma s
current smoking percentage (Health on the Horizon Tulsa County 2014).
Approximately 16% of the annual revenue generated from Oklahoma excise taxes

A Summary Of The Abolitionists And The Polaris Project
To what degree is labor humane? As a whole, the members of our society have
never questioned if the way we live life is unjust. In 1830, a group of people
recognized these wrongful ways. They spoke up and voiced their opinions on the
way Americans were treating black individuals. But was slavery really wrong?
According to many members of society in the 1830 s, no, slaverywasn t wrong. It was
a way of life. After Lincoln abolished slavery in 1865 slavery has only been thought
about as a moment in history. Now in 2017, we live in a free country, where no one
is a slave. Or so we thought. Human traffickingis a growing issue in the world today.
There are approximately 20 to 30 million slaves worldwide, of which 80% are
women and children. The Polaris Project is one of the many organizations that is
helping get rid of human trafficking today. The abolitionists and the Polaris Project
have similar movements, as they both fight against forced human labor. The Polaris
Project is more successful in using rhetorical appeals as they are making a substantial
difference in ways the abolitionists did not.
Although both movements had differences, they also had many similarities. One of
the main comparisons were the goals of each organization. Both organizations (the
abolitionists and the Polaris Project) fight for all men, women, and children to be
free, instead of being forced into slavery. During the time of the Abolitionist
Movement, there were 2,000,000 4,000,000 slaves working on

The first real thing that stood up against the rest of the marches/peaceful riots
happened in May of 1989. During this time the annual elections for government
were being held. In the days that worked up to the voting, word had spread to vote
no to the Soviets. Most of the Germans did so, and when the votes came up that
98.5 % of the Germans had sided with the Soviets, It was known that the elections
had been messed with. Then on September 4, 1989 people started to protest against
the government with the confidence that the Church they had been preaching too in
Leipzig, were supporting them. After the first rally, it became a weekly thing known
as the Monday Night Demonstrations. A month afterwards, the few hundreds had
changed to over 70,000 people that were taking the street. A week later, there was
120,000, and then 320,000 the next week. Then on November 4, only one month
later, there were more than a million people in the streets, asking for an end to the
soviets reign. 5 days later on November 9, the East German government announced
the opening of the border, allowing the East Germans to have their right of travel
back. This also held true for everything else that the East German government and
Russia were restricting from the East Germans. The two sides of Germany were
united once more, and communism was shut out. Democracy was the new form of
government in East Germany. East Germans could now practice any religion they
wanted, and
Social Inequality In The Dance Industry
Everyone experiences social inequality at least once in their lifetime, whether it is
something small or something big it is still social inequality. Personally, I have
experienced social inequality in the dance studio due to my physical appearance.
About 3 years ago I experienced social inequality due to my physical appearance. I
was quite short 3 years ago and this other girl was taller than me. We were at the
same dancelevel and had about the same muscle mass as me, however, she was
always placed in the front center of the stage and I was always placed at the back
dark corner where no one is able to see me. This made me feel like I was a bad
dancer because this has happened in every single dance we were in together which
was about five. She was, also, a lot prettier than me and she knew it. Since she was
always placed in the front she was quite stuck up and as a result, not many people at
the dance studio liked her. This is an example of social inequalitydue to my physical
appearance compared to others in the dance studio.... Show more content on

I am now placed in the front center and everyone else is either on the side or behind
me. This makes me feel bad because I feel like they should have time to shine too,
however, I like being in the front center because I was always in the back. I went
from being on the disadvantaged side to the advantaged side of social inequality
and in some ways, it feels great but in other ways, I feel sorry for those still
experiencing social inequality at the dance studio. I try not to be stuck up like that
girl three years ago because I do not want people to hate me for being a good
dancer. I cannot help that I am always placed in the front and I am too shy to speak
up and say something about it and personally, I like being front and center now that I
know what it feels
Cave Paintings Essay
Creating art is one of the single defining factors that set humans apart from animal
species. Through art, humans are able to express their innermost ideas and feelings,
without having the difficulty of trying to find the correct words to accurately
describe their thought processes. Works of art can help us to understand the people
who have come before us. This is evidenced by the knowledge humans have
discovered of prehistoric men and their symbolic cave paintings. The expression,
style, and meaning vary and archaeologists put in much effort to uncover these
works. The first evidence of cave art appeared in Western Europe (Berenguer 67).
Early cave paintings were characteristic of Western art. They were supported by an

It is often found to be extremely animalistic. The animals most commonly depicted
are horses, deer, reindeer, bison, ipex, aurochs, woolly rhinoceroses, and
mammoths. Sometimes lions and bears are also created, but rarely fish or birds.
Humans were also commonly represented (Berenguer 73). Prehistoric men also
created abstract designs that have proven hard to identify. They are referred to as
signs and a special nomenclature has been developed to better understand their
meaning. Tectiforms are generally quadrangular shapes, with crossing vertical lines
inside forming a trellis or mesh design. Tectiforms often appear near naturalistic
figures of animals. Scutiforms have been thought to represent the female vulva.
They are formed by red patches, often in the form of a comma or a key. Other types
of signs are penniforms, ramiforms, and claviforms. The exact meanings of most of
these signs remain unknown (Berenguer 82). The French scholar Leroi Gourhan
formed a theory regarding the animalistic and abstract art representations. He
believed all depictions revolved around the law of sex, noting that the philosophy of
the prehistoric men concentrated all explanations on sex and sexual relations. Cave
art depictions of animals are divided into male and female. The male animals are
horses, she goats, and deer. Bison, bovidae, and mammoths are female. The signs are
also divided into gender categories. Triangles, rectangles, ramiforms, tectiforms, and
scutiforms are
How Does Mills Define Happiness
Mills main purpose for this essay was to base it on a principle: Actions are right in
proportion as they tend to promote happiness, wrong as they tend to produce the
absence of pain. He explains that some pleasures are higher than others. Mill
means when he says It is better to be Socrates dissatisfied than a swine satisfied
that a person must choose higher pleasures to be happy, I can say that I do agree
with his claim based on my own personal experiences. Mill defines the Greatest
Happiness Principle to be the presence of pleasure and the absence of pain. He then
goes on to say that pleasures are a qualitative distinction and not all pleasures are
equal. Examples of higher pleasures can be wealth, religion, and education. These
The Han-Chinese Conflict
There are many conflicts that exist around the world today. One of these conflicts
includes the conflict between the Uighurs and Han Chinese. This conflict has been
occurring within the Xinjiang region for many years now. The Xinjiang region is
located within China in the upper west side of the state. In 1775 the Qing dynastyhad
a region of various Turkic, Mongol, and Chinese groups under control. The Xinjiang
Province became the first establishment of the Chinese Imperial in 1884. After the
fall of the Qing Dynasty in 1912 the Xinjiang province was ruled by the Uighur
group known as the East Turkestan Islamic Group. The Uighurs is a Muslim and
ethnically Turkic population that regard themselves as culturally and ethnically close
to Central Asian nations. East Turkestan lies in the heart of Asia and is the homeland
of the Turkic speaking Uighurs and central Asia people such as Kazaks, Kyrgyz,
Tatars, Uzbeks, and Tajiks.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The region of Xinjiang was under the rule of the Chinese government in the 18th
century. An East Turkestan state was declared in 1949 but their independence was
short lived and became part of the Communist China. Xinjiang is a region is home of
the ethnic Muslim minority called Uighurs who chafed under Chinese rule and
protested the steady influx of ethnic Chinese into the region. There was tension
between he Uighur population and Han Chinese ethnic western China that resulted in
violence and terrorism. For many years, many Uighurs and other Muslim minorities
in Xinjiang have agitated against China authoritarian government. The Uighurs
protest to oppressive official policies, religious restrictions and widespread
discrimination. At any rate, there are multitude of reasons for the conflict that exists
between the Uighurs and the Han Chinese, such as conflicts over political religion
and natural resources (mainly oil), as well as the struggle for regional
Literary Analysis Of In The Lake Of The Woods
The Monster Inside the Man. No matter how well people think they are at keeping
secrets, the truth will always come out. In the book In the Lake of the Woods by
Tim O Brien with John Wade is an ambitious man who, since childhood, has been
seeking acceptance and appreciation from others. Many tragic events from his life
are what shaped him and what led him to great heights to achieve this. Until he
loses his wife Kathy is when he realizes that the only acceptance and appreciation
that he needed was from her. O Brien s creation of John s character demonstrates
the way the revelation of an abhorrent secret can make one a monster in the eyes of
many despite attempts to prove otherwise. As a child, John Wade lived with his
mother and father. His father was a charming and outgoing man. He was the kind
of person people liked to be around. I wish he was my father , (O Brien 67) a kid
from John s class said once. However, people did not know John s father the way
he did. Mr. Wade was an alcoholic, and all little John wanted from him was his
rarely shown affection. During his childhood John was husky and very interested in
magic. His father constantly teased him about it, which affected John s self esteem.
When Mr. Wade died, John s wish for his father to be more affectionate to him was
buried in the same grave. In consequence, John developed an obsession with magic
that helped him cope with the grief that overcame him. It gave him a sense of control
over the uncontrollable. He
Essay about Book Report on the Perfect Storm
Book Report on The Perfect Storm by Sebastian Junger
The fishing port of Gloucester, Massachusetts, just north of Boston, is one of the
oldest fishing ports in the United States and can trace its history to around 1623.
Since that time, around ten thousand men have lost their lives fishing the Atlantic
Ocean. Not only did the fishing port feel the full brunt of the storm but that fateful
day in October 1991 was to add another six men to that tally when the fishing boat
Andrea Gail was caught in the full fury of the storm out on the fishing grounds,
heading back to port with a hold full of swordfish. The Perfect Storm is the story of
that fateful trip of October 1991 when the Andrea Gail headed out to sea for one last
shot at a major ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The environment influences the characters quite a bit. Everybody in that community
does something that involves the fish industry or supplying alcohol for the
fishermen. The lifestyles of the people are basically fish for a month out on the
open sea, come home for a week, get a drunk as you can, give your wife and family
all the money made and not spent on alcohol, and then leave to fish for another
month or two. The main characters in the story are all crew members of the same
fishing skipper so they act just as one would expect crew members to act towards one
another. The availability of food and water are very good. The story takes place on
the coast so obviously there is a lot of water and the entire story is based around
fishing to supply the food industry with swordfish. Fishing for swordfish is very
profitable so all of these crew members are well to do.
The characters are involved in travel for work. They travel up and down the coast
in pursuit of swordfish. Therefore the goods that are being sold and traded are the
swordfish. These swordfish are coming from the Atlantic Ocean to be sent to be
served in sea food restaurants. The cause for the movement is the need of a job and
money and food.
The physical region described in this story would basically be the coastal region. The
part played by this region is basically the location of a job and
Time To Kill Themes
Very rarely is a film like A Time To Kill (1996) made, containing such extremely
profound and overt discussions on race relations, especially when you consider it
within the context of the decade it was made. However, its themes of morality and
race, although heavy, are palatable because the main characters are likable and
complex, and the audience feels very connected to the mission they are pursuing.
The movie has a runtime of about two and a half hours, and although lengthy, the
audience stays riveted through its entirety in suspense of what the verdict of Carl
Lee s trial will be. I felt connected to Carl Lee and his family and I hurt for them
because of their immense struggle, and I found myself empathizing and engaging my
morals much more with this filmin comparison to most other movies. Morality plays
an interesting role throughout the film, with the question arising: Is murder ever
justified? Such a dividing question engages the audience to dig into their own beliefs.
But the film layers on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The audience is unsure which characters possibly carries a hidden racial prejudice
with them and motives are constantly questioned, especially with the role of the
Judge Noose, whose name alone alludes to a dark hidden side. However, gauging
the outcome of the trial proves extremely difficult, and the eventual innocent
verdict given to Carl Lee comes with great relief and a good deal of surprise,
because, by that point of the film, it seems as if the main characters have hit every
possible blockade and hardship along the way. I was glad for that aspect of the
film because it catalyzed empathy for Carl Lee to be free and home with his
family. Racism is certainly not dead, even in 2018, so begging the audience to
empathize with a black character could potentially be a very powerful facet of the
film to an audience viewer that carries racial
Gun Laws Reduce Gun Violence
Tighter gun laws will reduce gun violence because it would be harder to access
guns. According to the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and
Explosives), Thirty percent of guns involved in federal illegal gun trafficking
investigations are connected in some way to gun shows ( Gun Show Loopholes
Should be Closed ). This shows that a high number of crimes and violence done by
guns are done by illegal guns bought at gunshows. All this crimecan be stopped if we
put a ban on gun shows. In addition, the article also contained a experiment they
used to test the credibility of these sellers, they used undercover agents as buyers,
and went to Ohio, Nevada, and Tennessee. Out of 47 sellers, both licensed dealers
and private sellers, 63%
School Dress Code
School dress code is possibly one of the most enforced rules in today s school system.
Despite the issues of drugs, alcohol, or dangerous weapons on campus, the dress code
system is clearly the most important issue in schools today. Who cares about the
fighting, the bullying, or the education of students? A teenage girl s shoulder being
shown is obviously much more distracting and dangerous to the school environment
than kids throwing punches left and right.
Everyday girls express themselves in new ways through the way they dress. Pants
started as being ripped once at the knee, then all over the leg, but now they go as
far as ripping holes straight through the back pockets! A girl s pants always send a
certain message, such as I don t care ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of a teenage boy s lack of control of their sexual impulses, the girls
educations are compromised. Girls whose clothes are seen as distracting to the
boys learning environment have had to go home and change their clothes, or in
many cases change their shirt or shorts with unwashed, smelly, hand me down PE
clothes found left in the locker rooms year after year. The school dress code is said
to enforce cleanliness ; making a girl change into a disgusting, pit stained rag just
because it her straps are half an inch smaller than required measures is perfectly

Jose De San Martin s Declaration Of Independence
Jose de San Martin was a well loved army general, and liberator extraordinaire. So
well loved, in fact, that when he arrived in Lima, Peru in July, 1821, a lady walked
up to him, swooned, fell into his arms, and repeatedly said Mi General! Mi
General! San Martin was humbled, and when she tried to leave his arms, he helped
her up, and gave her an affectionate salute. This woman loved San Martin, but did
all Peruvians? The country of Peru gained independence from Spain in 1824, but
before that, independence was proclaimed on July 28th, 1821 by Jose de San
Martin, the Argentine leader of the independence army. San Martin fought against
the Royalist army led by Jose de la Serna in a series of battles, the declaration of
independence was signed by the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to William Spence Robertson, the first professor of Latin American
history at the University of Illinois, everyone in Lima was overjoyed by the idea of
independence. After the declaration San Martin held a ball, and the city was filled
with celebration. Timothy E. Anna, professor emeritus at the University of
Manitoba, provides a stark contrast to Robertson s view. He claims that the
declaration was faked, and the only reason Peruvians signed it was because they
were afraid of San Martin s foreign army. Carleton Beals, a prominent journalist on
Latin American issues in the mid 1990s, introduces yet another argument on
independence. He claims that independence ideals were a grassroots idea spread
throughout the military. The signing of the declaration of independence was a key
moment in the independence process, and can show evidence of the real mindset of
the Peruvian people. Because Jose de San Martin s army shut down trade,
intimidated the people of Lima, and destroyed various cities off of the coast, the
people of Peru didn t actually want the independence they were forced
Children In North Korea Essay
Kindergarten. The age of innocence where we learn and sing the alphabet.
Children all over the world learn their ABC s and nursery rhymes well almost
everybody. In North Korea, children as early as Kindergarten are being
brainwashed with information about the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Il. The so
called genuine faith in their leadership is not just from being brainwashed but also
from fear of the government. During an interview with Jeon Geum ju by Anna
Fifield from The Washington Post, she recalls her time during her elementary years
in North Korea before she snuck across the border to China. One of the songs she
remembers contained the lyrics, Kim Jong Il, how hard he works, he works so hard
that he sleeps in the car and just eats... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One night while he was in the Army, he took a train to the river, where he swam to
China. Comparing North Korea to China, he realized that they had been brainwashed.
When describing his education, he said that 30 percent of their studies was about the
leader and 20 percent was about the enemy aka people who were living in paradise
because they had money and land. He recalls many time when people would be
sent to prison because of saying a wrong word. A common saying, there is an ear,
even on the wall If the people know that there is a punishment by the government
for their wrongful actions, they most likely will not commit that act as a common
saying amongst the people was there is an ear, even on the wall. Because of this
fear and the brainwashing at a young age, it is common sense for North Koreans to
have genuine faith in the great leader. Some people might say that it s not fear or
brainwashing rather that the brainwashing is just North Korea s unique way of
teaching. Brainwashing no matter the country should not occur. Yes, they should
learn about their leader, but it should not be forced upon them and take up almost
the majority of what they learn let alone at such a young age. One might say it s fear
and not brainwashing but in order to have fear, you have to have some brainwashing
or some ideas/thoughts

  • 2. The Legacy Of Daniel Libeskind Daniel Libeskind was born in Lodz, Poland on May 12, 1946, to Polish Jewish parents the year after World War II ended. His parents were Holocaust survivors, but living in postwar Eastern Europe they found that the formal end of the Holocaust did not bring an end to Anti Semitism violence. As Libeskind told Stanley Meisler of the Smithsonian, Anti Semitism is the only memory I still have of Poland. In school. On the streets. It wasn t what most people think happened after the war was over. It was horrible. As a child, his parents wanted him to learn an instrument but felt that bringing a piano into the house would draw too much attention. Thus, they bought him an accordion, an instrument that could easily be concealed. With this learned skill, Libeskind reached a small amount of fame at a young age. Libeskind and his family led a nomadic life: at eleven, he moved with his family to Israel. Here, he switched to the piano and eventually won an American Israel Cultural Foundation scholarship, which enabled the family to move to the United States. Consequently, at thirteen years old, they moved to New York. As Libeskind recalls: I arrived by ship to New York as a teenager, an immigrant, and like millions of others before me, my first sight was the Statue of Liberty and the amazing skyline of Manhattan. I have never forgotten that sight or what it stands for. Although Libeskind continued to study music and the performing arts, as he grew older he found it to be less and

Reaction Rate Lab; Concentration (Mg + 2HCl H2+ MgCl2) Purpose: How do different concentrations of Hydrochloric Acid (0.1 M, 0.5 M, 1.0 M, 2.0 M) affect the rate of reaction when reacting with Magnesium ribbon strips? Hypothesis: If the hydrochloric acid has a greater concentration (2.0 M), there will be a greater reaction rate than with a lower concentration (1.0 M, 0.5 M, 0.1 M). This is because if there is a greater concentration, the chance of the reactants colliding is greater, thus leading to a faster reaction and therefore a faster reaction rate. Application As a student, I found peer teaching is enjoyable for students and peer teachers. Allowing a students to take turns between being the teacher and the learner, will achieve benefit from explaining their own personal understanding of the material to another, and from hearing the same material from the others understanding or viewpoint. In this model, students spend time summarizing information, assessing the work or ideas of a peer, and explaining rationales. • 17. The Fuel Of Diesel Cars Diesel Cars have never been able to take a proportional share of the Automotive market (in the US anyway). 2 Litre TDI Volkswagen Passenger Cars did the impossible for quite a while; until it came to light that they were cheating on emissions tests; likely killing diesel s future as a fuel. A year before Charles and Frank made their first car, Rudolf Diesel patented the design for diesel powered combustion engine. He believed that this would revolutionize the industry, because diesel fuel harbored a higher concentration of energy per gallon (132Г—106 vs 155Г—106 joules, gasoline and diesel respectively; in terms of energy density). The problem is that the exhaust is typically dirtier due to the much oilier nature of the fuel. Diesel however, has a potential to be just as clean as gasoline is, but the trade off is the added efficiency; Volkswagen Passenger cars cheated and lied about the former to pad the latter, effectively killing the fuel s future. VW AG was installing a Robert Bosch made defeat device, despite Bosch not condoning the way it was used. The software within had an advanced algorithm that would figure out when the TDI engine was being tested (is the car on a dyno i.e. not moving etc.). During testing times, the engine would optimize for clean emissions, at all other times 2 Litre TDI Volkswagen Passenger Cars were maximizing mileage to the detriment of the environment. Traditionally diesel cars are heavier and costlier than their petrol powered counterparts. Not
  • 18. Oedipus The King Teiresias Analysis In the play, Oedipus the King by Sophocles, Oedipus spends all his life trying to prevent a prophecy he had heard from coming true. To prevent it, Oedipus goes to Thebes and on his way, Oedipus kills a man who turns out to the king of Thebes, Laius. Thebes is under a curse and the control of a Sphinx, and if Oedipusanswers the riddle of the Sphinx then he can free Thebes and become the king. Oedipus answers the riddle correctly and becomes the savior of Thebes and marries the queen, Jocasta, who was the wife of Laius. Because he marries Jocasta and killed Laius, the prophecy comes true; however, Oedipus does not know that the prophecy is true until later in the play. Teiresias is a blind prophet, who Oedipus asks to come to Thebes to see who the killer of Laius is. After Teiresias comes to visit Oedipus, he then spends the rest of his life in denial of what really happened. In Oedipus the King, Teiresias plays the role of showing Oedipus arrogance and ignorance through foreshadowing and dramatic irony. In the scene where Oedipus forces Teiresias to visit him, Teiresias proves Oedipus arrogance when Teiresias declares, You are the cursed polluter of this land (353). Teiresias reveals how arrogant and ignorant Oedipus actually turns out to be when he says this to Oedipus. Oedipus acts surprised and exclaims, Have you no shame at all? (354), which reveals how Oedipus believes Teiresias is wrong and that he is not the reason for why Thebes is cursed. However, through

The Challenges Of A Reflection In Writing A Writing Process Emily Sichanthongthip Ryan Clark Comp l 4 December 2017 Reflection Essay I would describe my writing process as a fairly simple one. First I would choose a topic that appealed to me. Secondly, I would just sit down and start writing. Lastly, I usually wrote my paper in parts. I d skip the introduction and conclusion till the very last tasks, so I always wrote my body paragraphs first. A challenge I faced would be that I had writer s block for a few of my projects because I did the writing structure out of order; specifically in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Language and Power essays. The struggle was that I didn t create a thesis before writing the body paragraphs, so I had no idea what I was writing. Most of the time I came up with my points on the spot, which was quite challenging. Sometimes I couldn t express what I wanted on paper clearly. The ideas were in my head, but I didn t know how to form a sentence for them. I got through the writer s block by looking through the readings and doing research if needed. Doing this helped my papers reach the requirements for completion. The benefit of writing my body paragraphs for these essays was that I had a few ideas on what I could form my thesis on. Another challenge I encountered would be that I often started a paper late or I didn t give myself enough time to finish a writing. This was applicable to my satirical piece and rhetorical analysis. I m pretty sure I came up with my idea a few days before my first

Furthermore it was also found that there is a large overlap between personality and learning styles(Jackson Lawty Jones, 1996) and Duff, Boyle, Dunleavy and Ferguson (2004) state that an individuals learning orientation and approach to learning, is partially determined by their personality. There is a lot of research (Duff Duffy, 2002; Lhori Posey, 2003; Coffield et al., 2004; Reynold Vince, 2007; Welsh et al., 2007; Hornyak et al., 2007; Herbert Stenfors, 2007; Sievers, 2007; Hyde, 2007; Kayes, 2007; Garcia et al., 2007; Demirbas Demirkan, 2007; Armstrong Mahmud, 2008; Li et al., 2008) that shows people have a dominant learning style but can also have a mixture of others. In this assignment I will provide evidence off different theories which support learning styles and investigate different learning models such as Kolbs (1984) and Honey and Mumford (1986). Different personalities can depict suitable team roles but in order to decide if these contribute to effective teams I will examine team theories such as Meredith Belbins Team roles (1981, 1993) and

Life Styles Inventory Paper Life Styles Inventory Results Paper Part I: Personal Thinking Styles As revealed by my personal Life Styles Inventory (Figure 1), my primary thinking style and back up thinking style were Conventional (4 o clock position) and Affiliative (2 o clock position) respectively. There are many ways in which both the Conventional thinking style and Affiliative thinking style manifest in my life and work, none of which were all that evident until I explored my personal Life Styles Inventory. Part II: Impact on Management Style In relation to the four functions of management: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling, it is evident how my personal thinking styles impact the way in which I manage. First and foremost, I think that my Conventional Style of thinking impacts my management styles the most. Although I am conventional in my practices, I am not dogmatic. I understand the importance in not remaining steadfast with something if it is continually not working, and I also understand the importance of being able to adapt to what does work. When it comes to planning and organizing I do like to stick to the rules before anything else. But as mentioned before, I often deviate from those rules if they do not appear to be producing adequate results. I will have to admit that my Conventional Style of thinking does give me comfort in times of great stress, but I do not see that as a negative practice, but more of a practical application to individual differences. Another one of my thinking styles that I feel highly impacts my managing style in relation to planning and organizing is my Achievement Oriented Style. Although this style was not identified as either my primary or back up thinking styles, I do believe it plays a large role in my effectiveness as a manager. In

  • 40. A Summary Of The Abolitionists And The Polaris Project To what degree is labor humane? As a whole, the members of our society have never questioned if the way we live life is unjust. In 1830, a group of people recognized these wrongful ways. They spoke up and voiced their opinions on the way Americans were treating black individuals. But was slavery really wrong? According to many members of society in the 1830 s, no, slaverywasn t wrong. It was a way of life. After Lincoln abolished slavery in 1865 slavery has only been thought about as a moment in history. Now in 2017, we live in a free country, where no one is a slave. Or so we thought. Human traffickingis a growing issue in the world today. There are approximately 20 to 30 million slaves worldwide, of which 80% are women and children. The Polaris Project is one of the many organizations that is helping get rid of human trafficking today. The abolitionists and the Polaris Project have similar movements, as they both fight against forced human labor. The Polaris Project is more successful in using rhetorical appeals as they are making a substantial difference in ways the abolitionists did not. Although both movements had differences, they also had many similarities. One of the main comparisons were the goals of each organization. Both organizations (the abolitionists and the Polaris Project) fight for all men, women, and children to be free, instead of being forced into slavery. During the time of the Abolitionist Movement, there were 2,000,000 4,000,000 slaves working on

Most of the Germans did so, and when the votes came up that 98.5 % of the Germans had sided with the Soviets, It was known that the elections had been messed with. Then on September 4, 1989 people started to protest against the government with the confidence that the Church they had been preaching too in Leipzig, were supporting them. Personally, I have experienced social inequality in the dance studio due to my physical appearance. About 3 years ago I experienced social inequality due to my physical appearance. I was quite short 3 years ago and this other girl was taller than me. We were at the same dancelevel and had about the same muscle mass as me, however, she was always placed in the front center of the stage and I was always placed at the back dark corner where no one is able to see me. This made me feel like I was a bad dancer because this has happened in every single dance we were in together which was about five. She was, also, a lot prettier than me and she knew it. Through art, humans are able to express their innermost ideas and feelings, without having the difficulty of trying to find the correct words to accurately describe their thought processes. Works of art can help us to understand the people who have come before us. This is evidenced by the knowledge humans have discovered of prehistoric men and their symbolic cave paintings. The expression, style, and meaning vary and archaeologists put in much effort to uncover these works. The first evidence of cave art appeared in Western Europe (Berenguer 67). The animals most commonly depicted are horses, deer, reindeer, bison, ipex, aurochs, woolly rhinoceroses, and mammoths. Sometimes lions and bears are also created, but rarely fish or birds. Humans were also commonly represented (Berenguer 73). Prehistoric men also created abstract designs that have proven hard to identify. They are referred to as signs and a special nomenclature has been developed to better understand their meaning. Tectiforms are generally quadrangular shapes, with crossing vertical lines inside forming a trellis or mesh design. Tectiforms often appear near naturalistic figures of animals. Scutiforms have been thought to represent the female vulva. They are formed by red patches, often in the form of a comma or a key. Other types of signs are penniforms, ramiforms, and claviforms. The exact meanings of most of these signs remain unknown (Berenguer 82). The French scholar Leroi Gourhan formed a theory regarding the animalistic and abstract art representations. He believed all depictions revolved around the law of sex, noting that the philosophy of the prehistoric men concentrated all explanations on sex and sexual relations. Cave art depictions of animals are divided into male and female. The male animals are horses, she goats, and deer. Bison, bovidae, and mammoths are female. The signs are also divided into gender categories. Triangles, rectangles, ramiforms, tectiforms, and scutiforms are

Many tragic events from his life are what shaped him and what led him to great heights to achieve this. Until he loses his wife Kathy is when he realizes that the only acceptance and appreciation that he needed was from her. O Brien s creation of John s character demonstrates the way the revelation of an abhorrent secret can make one a monster in the eyes of many despite attempts to prove otherwise. As a child, John Wade lived with his mother and father. His father was a charming and outgoing man. He was the kind of person people liked to be around. I wish he was my father , (O Brien 67) a kid from John s class said once. However, people did not know John s father the way he did. Mr. Wade was an alcoholic, and all little John wanted from him was his rarely shown affection. During his childhood John was husky and very interested in magic. His father constantly teased him about it, which affected John s self esteem. When Mr. Wade died, John s wish for his father to be more affectionate to him was buried in the same grave. In consequence, John developed an obsession with magic that helped him cope with the grief that overcame him. It gave him a sense of control over the uncontrollable. He

Time To Kill Themes Very rarely is a film like A Time To Kill (1996) made, containing such extremely profound and overt discussions on race relations, especially when you consider it within the context of the decade it was made. However, its themes of morality and race, although heavy, are palatable because the main characters are likable and complex, and the audience feels very connected to the mission they are pursuing. The movie has a runtime of about two and a half hours, and although lengthy, the audience stays riveted through its entirety in suspense of what the verdict of Carl Lee s trial will be. I felt connected to Carl Lee and his family and I hurt for them because of their immense struggle, and I found myself empathizing and engaging my morals much more with this filmin comparison to most other movies. I was glad for that aspect of the film because it catalyzed empathy for Carl Lee to be free and home with his family. A common saying, there is an ear, even on the wall If the people know that there is a punishment by the government for their wrongful actions, they most likely will not commit that act as a common saying amongst the people was there is an ear, even on the wall. Because of this fear and the brainwashing at a young age, it is common sense for North Koreans to have genuine faith in the great leader. Some people might say that it s not fear or brainwashing rather that the brainwashing is just North Korea s unique way of teaching. Brainwashing no matter the country should not occur. Yes, they should learn about their leader, but it should not be forced upon them and take up almost the majority of what they learn let alone at such a young age.
