The Church Of The Holy Cross Lutheran Church
On Saturday 7, 2015, Alex, Michael and I drove to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church located in
11515 Ashcake Road Ashland, Virginia (about a 5 minute drive away from campus). The first
thing that caught my attention was the external structure of the church. The architecture of the
church is old school and it looks like a wooden house. Inside the church we could immediately
tell that there were at least two floors. The top floor was where the altar was located and where
the congregation took place. As soon as we stepped into the top floor, a really nice lady
approached us and told us to sign a book of guests that everyone that attends the service had to
sign. After we signed in, the pastor approached us and we told him that we were attending the
service for a research project and that we were students from Randolph Macon College, he
seemed thrilled to be able to help us. The service itself was much laid back and relatively small.
There were 25 people at the church on that Saturday, and they were all very friendly. The pastor
was very enthusiastic and welcoming to us. At the beginning of the service, he introduced us to

The art of leadership... consists in consolidating the attention of the people against a single
adversary and taking care that nothing will split up that attention (Adolf Hitler). Although Adolf
Hitler may have been one of the worst men in history, he had a similar rise to power as the Geatish
warrior Beowulf did. He gained his leadership by showing up to Germany in their time of need and
telling them that he can fix their economic depression after WWII. Throughout the epic poem,
Beowulf demonstrates a leadership style that is very effective; however, it has failed many leaders
and their cultures in the past, and it is often carried on today. This also ties into Beowulf s hero
model, which shows us how drastically the idea of heros have changed throughout history.
Beowulf s charismatic leadership style is adequate for him to achieve the role he deserves over
the Danes, although it comes along with several drawbacks. Beowulf comes to power by being

The origin of fuzzy systems can be traced to the first introduction of formal logic by Aristotle.
Logic introduced by Aristotle was considered to be bilevel logic of either true or false, and is
acknowledged to be the foundation of most of the growth of the sciences which are known
today.[1] However, it was Plato who is accredited with laying the actual foundations for fuzzy logic
when he proposed that there exists a third area beyond true and false where things were not always
true or always false.[3]
Digital computers in use today are based upon the ideas of Aristotle, where a single bit of
