I gave this presentation on February 29, 2012 for my fourth year eBranding seminar at Queen's University Film and Media Department. In this presentation I look at how celebrities are using social media to manage their personal brand and connect with fans. I broke my presentation up into three parts: celebrity branding, promoting social causes and a case study on President Barack Obama. Enjoy!

2. "We have been seeing the trend lately of celebs using
social media, especially Twitter, as a way to control
their exposure to fans and the public. Social media
has given them a voice to say anything they want at
any time, and posting personal photos is a large part of
that."

9. “Social media can be a handful to manage. It’s instant, provides a
wide reach and you can’t take back what you say. If you made a
mistake, review all the facts and apologize quickly, honestly and to
the right people”.

get as much positive exposure as possible. When you
become more and more well known, the stakes are higher
and everything you do will be exposed to a greater
