Cause And Effect Essay Format
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Cause and Effect Essay Format" presents a unique set of
challenges that demands a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. The intricacies lie
not only in the need for a profound comprehension of the cause-and-effect relationship but also
in the skillful application of a structured and coherent format.
To begin with, one must delve into the complexities of causation, analyzing various factors and
their interplay in a given scenario. This involves extensive research to unearth relevant
information, statistics, and real-life examples that effectively illustrate the cause-and-effect
dynamics. The meticulous gathering of data is a time-consuming process, requiring a discerning
eye to filter out pertinent details amidst a sea of information.
Once armed with a trove of data, the challenge shifts to the organization and structuring of the
essay. The cause-and-effect relationship demands a logical flow that is both easy to follow and
compelling. This necessitates a keen sense of coherence, ensuring that each paragraph seamlessly
transitions into the next, guiding the reader through a clear and comprehensible narrative.
Furthermore, striking the right balance between causation and correlation poses another hurdle. It
requires a nuanced approach to avoid oversimplification or overcomplication of the relationship
between various factors. The writer must tread carefully, navigating the fine line between depth
of analysis and accessibility for the audience.
In addition to these challenges, adherence to a specific essay format adds an additional layer of
complexity. Meeting the expectations of proper introduction, body, and conclusion while
effectively weaving the cause-and-effect narrative throughout demands a mastery of
organizational skills.
In summary, composing an essay on the intricacies of cause and effect, while adhering to a
structured format, is a demanding task that requires a deep understanding of the topic, rigorous
research, and skillful organization. It is an undertaking that challenges the writer to navigate the
complexities of causation while maintaining a compelling and coherent narrative.
For those finding themselves grappling with such challenges, seeking assistance becomes a
viable option. Services like HelpWriting.net offer a solution by providing access to a plethora

Plato vs Isocrates Essay
Plato encouraged in his writings that the view that sophists were concerned with was
the manipulative aspects of how humans acquire knowledge. (Lecture) Sophists
believed that only provisional or probable knowledge was available to humans but
both Plato and Isocrates did not agree with a lot of what the Sophists had to say.
They both believed in wisdom and having a connection with rhetoricbut vary in
defining wisdom in itself. Wisdom for Socratesand Platois having an understanding
of speech, knowledge of truth and being able to question the speaker in order to seek
and reveal truth. Isocrates defined wisdom as having a sense of integrity and
character along with the ambition and ability to speak well with others.

(167) One who knows knowledge, more so, one who loves wisdom, delivers their
wisdom, knowledge and understanding to others. Since wisdom is the understanding
of speech, knowing truth and questioning credibility, rhetoric does not produce
knowledge. It delivers the knowledge to others. Being wise is being able to recognize
and acknowledge the hidden truth of speech and creating a sense of understanding
with that knowledge.
Socrates and Plato differ from Isocrates by believing that rhetoric, which distributes
wisdom, comes from the soul. The man whose rhetorical teaching is a real art will
explain accurately the nature of that to which his words are to be addressed, and that
is the soul. (163) Ones soul is affected by decisions made by the human form and
also by those interacting with the soul. The wise man s soul contains wisdom, truth
and intelligence. Thus, by interacting with a bad soul or a soul with bad intent lowers
to soul of a just and wise man. Since rhetoric is distributing knowledge to others, the
soul should be used when making hard and uncertain decisions. The soul of a wise
person holds ultimate truth and its human form knows how to seek out knowledge
and understanding to find ultimate truth by ways of questioning.
To the contrary, Isocrates believes that wisdom has nothing to do with the soul and
the heavens, for he claims that the gods in the heavens have disputes.
Induction By David Hume
Induction is a form of reasoning in which the premises of an argument support the
conclusion, David Hume (1711 1776), in his book A Treatise of Human Nature of
induction, wrote; instances of which we have had no experience resemble those of
which we have had experience (pp. 89) [1]. Adamson (1999) wrote that evidence
shows that induction was first scrutinised in the late 17th and early 18th century,
when contemporary views of the world were questioned, near the end of the
scientific revolution [2]. Chalmers (1999), continues, stating that the recognition of
the problem of induction was the starting point for a sceptical attack of a large
domain of accepted beliefs and opinions that are ordinarily taken to be knowledge ,
showing the impact philosophical questioning had on a diverse range of belief
systems [3]. David Hume is recognised as one of the first philosophers to question the
validity of induction, and the father of The Problem of Induction , a lasting
philosophical question. He began by doubting the ability and validity of a posteriori
knowledge to demonstrate causality. Hume speculated whether induction provides
reliable evidence, and whether it is rational for us to believe inductive knowledge if
the basis is not objective, and whether we can rationally justify beliefs that stem from
the unobserved (Hume, pp. 193 4) [4], a rational being would not trust conclusions
drawn from the uncertain. Hume acknowledges that humans instinctively use
induction, through

ABSTRACT
Corporate social responsibility is a concept whereby companies integrate social and
environmental concerns in their business activities and in interaction with their
stakeholders on a voluntary basis. In this global context, voluntary social and
environmental practices of business, going beyond companies existing legal
obligations, can play a major role in filling the governance gap in an innovative way.
The sector is characterized by controls across the entire value chain of sugar
production and sale, which not only hampers its efficiency but also exacerbates the
cyclicality in sugar and sugarcane production. The growth and development in sugar
sector in the country in general and in the state of Uttar Pradesh in particular has
multiple linkages with social, economic and environmental issues. The purpose of
this study is to conduct a triple bottom line assessment of sugarcane value chain and
suggest alternatives that could improve the current sustainable practices of CSR
across various stakeholders.

Mental Health Intake Form Of The Intake
I currently work at an SMI clinic for TERROS and I selected an intake form off of
the internet instead of the intake for my work because our intake is a template that
generates into a document once signed by all appropriate parties. I must say this
random mental health intake form I found is extremely similar. I think these forms
are now somewhat standardized and having just recently started filling out
assessments of this nature and doing service plans with behavioral health
recipients. I must confess it is difficult to get all of these answers out of clients and
to keep their attention long enough to complete this paperwork. I feel often times
we must resort to generic answers that do not give us a full understanding f who
these people are and what their needs are, but it is a good resource to have a basic
understanding of a client and when sharing information with other people on the
clinical team good note taking skills and complete forms makes communication and
client service much more efficient. Does the intake form ask all of the necessary
questions to determine what the client s presenting problem is? I think this form
does an adequate asking what the presenting problem is by up front asking what the
problems are that the individual is seeking help for and giving the client space to
say in their own words what their problem is. I also like that after the open ended
questionof the presenting problem there is a checklist of symptoms for the client to

Disadvantages Of Laparoscopy
Introduction
Laparoscopy has revolutionized surgery during the last three decades; however, the
roots of minimally invasive surgery can be traced back much earlier, to ancient
times. The first description of endoscopic procedures came from Hippocrates, who
inserted different instruments into various body orifices, in order to observe
anatomy and pathological processes. The first celioscopies were described in the
early 20th century by the German surgeon Kelling, who used a cystoscope inserted
through an abdominal wall incision in dogs to insufflate the abdomen with filtered
air. Bernheim described his experience with
organoscopies in his series of 17 live human subjects in 1911.

Once the surgeon gains sufficient laparoscopic skills, the hand can be left outside the
abdominal cavity and the benefits of laparoscopy can be conferred upon the patient.
Single incision laparoscopic surgery
Some of the proven major advantages of conventional multiport laparoscopy (CML)
over the open approach are reductions in pain, length of stay, wound complications,
and improved cosmesis.
Single port laparoscopic surgery (SILS) may further enhance the advantages of CML
by performing the entire procedure through a single incision in the abdominal wall,
thus minimizing surgical trauma. SILS represents the next evolutionary step in
minimally invasive surgery, towards a totally scar free procedure; however, in this
technique, the laparoscopic working ports are all introduced through the single
incision, which contradicts the basic triangulation rule of laparoscopy.
This method requires advanced laparoscopic skills when compared with CML,
added complexity, and poorer ergonomics, while early studies have also reported a
longer operating time than with CML.
SILS has introduced several new, inherent, technical

Not Celebrating Christopher Columbus Essay
Christopher Columbus should not be considered a hero because he took advantage of
the generosity of the natives to achieve his greedy ambition.
Even though he is celebrated in the United States, Christopher Columbus should not
be considered a hero. He took advantage of the generosity of the American natives he
found. His greedy ambition had horrible results that most Americans do not even
realize.
Christopher Columbus was born in about 1451 in the Italian city of Genoa. He was
the son of a wool merchant, and spent most of his childhood working as a part time
weaver. (Zinn) During his teenage years, Columbus got job on a merchant ship and
stayed mostly at sea until 1470, when French privateers attacked his boat.

personalities. Their culture was so intricate and multifaceted, and the Taino fed
millions of people. In addition to feeding everyone, the Taino also maintained a
spirituality that encompassed the respect of their animal and other natural food
sources. (Barreiro) The Tanios all lived together in little villages and had a
developed agriculture of corn, yams, and cassava. They could spin and weave, but
they had no horses or other work animals. They had no iron, but they wore tiny gold
ornaments in their ears. The word Taino in the Arawaklanguage meant men of the
good, and based on what the historians have seen these Taino people seem to be
inherently good. (Barreiro) Well known for their remarkable hospitality, their belief in
sharing, the native people were open, friendly, and welcoming to Columbus and his
crew from the moment they stepped foot on the Taino s island.
To the Taino people, Christopher Columbus and his crew were complete strangers
who arrived carrying swords and speaking an unfamiliar language. Yet the Taino men,
women, and children quickly emerged from their villages and ran onto the island s
beaches to welcome these unwanted guests with food, water, and gifts. (Zinn)
Medical Marijuana Legalization
Global Impact of the Legalization of Medical Marijuana
Medical marijuana has become an extreme controversy for many different countries
around the world. According to the National Conference of State Legislation, twenty
nine states in the United States have legalized medical marijuana, (State) along with
select countries around the world. Different regions of the world have varying views
and laws for medical cannabis. Medical marijuana can drastically improve the
quality of ill people s lives, and ease pain that otherwise make daily life miserable.
According to two well known professors at University of Salerno, cannabis has been
used to relieve chronic pain, muscular cramps and neurological or spinal pains
(Bifulco and Pisanti). Although medical marijuana s purpose would be to alleviate
pain, some are concerned that it could be a gateway drug, which means it could
potentially lead people to become addicted to stronger substances.
California was the first state in the United States to pass laws making medical
marijuana legal. As of 2017, thirty three American states or territories have passed
similar laws regarding cannabis, leaving twenty three states with the illegalization of
medical marijuana (State). Other countries within North America have also made
medical marijuana legal, including Canada. According to Canada s government
website, medical marijuana has been legal since 2001 (Marihuana). Rob Nikolewski,
a writer for the San Diego Union Tribune, explains that

In this segment an analysis of the two articles has been presented. The significance
and inevitability of organizational culture is made prominent in both of the research
study. The investigation of one study revolves around the corporate culture
exclusively in the fitness organization in Canada while in the other study corporate
culture in the private and public higher education institutions has been highlighted.
Both the papers conclude that organizational culture is like corporate norms which
impacts customer perception and need to be followed by employees.

Indian Marriage Vs American Marriage
Which such close knit families in India how is marriage conducted and how does
that differ from American marriages? There are various differences between
American and Indian marriage customs. For example: in America, the ceremony is
one day, with corsages presented to the guests of honor, and the couple exchanges
ring; afterwards, birdseed is thrown. In India, it is a multi day ceremony with
garlands presented to the guests of honor; instead of rings, a mangala sutra cord
with gold pendants is tied around the bride s neck in three knots by the groom, and
rose petals are thrown for luck ( Indian WeddingTraditions and Customs , n.d.).

tradition called the mangal pheras, where the couple circles the ritual fire four times
and run back to their seats the first one to get back rules the household ( Indian

Persuasive Essay On My Trip To Houston
I ve been a huge football fan for nearly my entire life. It has always been a dream of
mine to go and watch the super bowl, the biggest game of the year in the NFL.
Next year, in 2017, I know it is possible for me to fund my own trip to Houston,
where the big game will be held. This would be the experience of a lifetime for me
and would honestly be something id never forget. I have a personal money budget
of 3600 dollars and funding coming in from relatives as a result of my 18th
birthday being only 5 months previous to the super bowl. That money is plenty and
as long as I save smart I can easily fund my own trip to Houston on February 2nd,
2017 through February 6th. Traveling is a beneficial activity for your own personal
growth and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Given the trip is to take place next year there are no flights scheduled that far into
the future however using the prices of flights to Houston currently, it would cost
approximately $700 (kayak.com). The Plane would land thursday night, February
2nd, 2017, and that night I d reach my hotel and unpack. The hotel, actually being a
hostel rather than a hotel, would cost $56 dollars a night, with all 4 nights
amounting up to $224 (tripadvisor.com). Friday morning I d go to rent a vehicle
and according to Kayak.com, a Nissan Versa is available the 3 days it would be
needed for only $109 including tax. With the car I d drive 4 hours north to
Arlington Texas to see the Dallas Cowboys AT T Stadium. It s always been a
dream of mine to see AT T Stadium, and with this trip, it would be close enough to
make a drive, albeit a very long drive, up there to see it. Though this does go
against the ideal of living among the locals and getting that kind of advantage from
travel, this is a different kind of advantage, the advantage of accomplishing a lifelong
dream. Saturday however, I d spend the entire day in Houston, living amongst the
people of Houston and doing activities the people do. Granted Houston is a fairly
similar culture to where i am from and living among them isn t going to change my
perspective on life as it did with Neil Shea in Paris and John Lancaster in Hawaii,
but I d do my best with connecting with the culture of Houston and connect as
deeply with the environment as possible. Things like horseback riding or possibly
even local museums, symphonic orchestra showings, or the Aquarium. All this
leads into Sunday where the entire day is dedicated to Super Bowl 51 which will
also be the bulk of the cost of the trip. Tickets are estimated currently to be around
$1500 which considering it s only March of 2016, that number is very liquid and
could rise or fall
Natural Resources In Cuba
Cuba is a country located in the Northern Caribbean. It is south of the United States
and the Bahamas. Cuba is very diverse and is considered to be multiethnic. The
population is approximately 11.2 million people. A few of Cuba s natural resources
are beans, coffee, sugar, tobacco, fish and fruit. The history of Cubais very interesting
due to the one party system and the wars and actions under the leadership of Fidel
Castro. The United Statesimposed an embargo on Cuba in October 1960. This was
the beginning of one of the longest sanctions against a county. Currently the U. S. has
relaxed some of the restrictions for travel and in 2016 the government allowed two

Fixing Animals
A question that plagues pet owners new and old is whether they should fix their
animals which is the process of removing the reproductive organs of an animal.
Though in the end it is a tough decision to make when considering both side to the
problem. On the side that is for the spaying and neutering of their animals, research
suggests that it helps keep animals healthy is certain ways that not fixing an animal
does. It also contributes to the control of the animal population in not just in America.
But, on the other side of the issue there are studies showing that even though fixing
an animal has many health and population benefits for animals it can also cause
problems for them, as well as brush up against moral boundaries that many people...

For instance, in an article called Spaying and Neutering Pets by the college of
Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Texas A M states that the

animal. Which is also corroborated by other articles by the ASPCA called Spay

staggering number of homeless animals is because of pet owners not fixing their

The Bystander Effect In Chronicle Of A Death Foretold
The bystander effect, is a social psychological phenomenon that refers to cases in
which individuals do not offer any means of help to a victim when other people are
present (Weiten). Such reactions usually occur when individuals do not want to risk
getting involved in the situation. In Chronicles of a Death Foretold, even though the
townspeople do not desire the murder of Santiago Nasar, their unwillingness or lack of
courage to take action in preventing this foretold murder consequently allows for the
murder to happen. The idea of disturbing the status quo and risk of involvement
overshadows the SucrГ© citizens moral values. Even though a scale of individual
willingness to avert the crime is presented such as Colonel Lazaro Aponte s fulfilling
his duty ,Clotilde Armenta s multiple attempts and Father Armando s total

Ursula Dubosarsky s The Red Shoe
The Red Shoe is a charming novel composed by the astounding author, Ursula
Dubosarsky. The events and happenings in this novel date back to the 1950s. It
describes the wars, the diseases of the citizens back then, and detailed descriptions
of what it was like in those days and how people lived differently from how we do
today. It shows a kind of slice of life story style directing to the three sisters in the
story. The book suggests war and spies and the effect of the both of them on
individuals and families, threats of the diseases and the sexist attitudes dealing with
the fact that men had more rights than women back then.

It takes a while to understand the concept. The newspaper articles were a great add

seems to have a dark side. It is quite difficult to comprehend the book s affairs as it
does not have a storyline. The chapters make me feel like they were written
arbitrarily and would need a long time to think about the book in order to know its
true meaning. The author is trying to convey the idea of the 50s for the readers
but has made it extremely hard to perceive, always adding in random and
unnecessary lines for the characters that have no effect on the rest of the book. E.g
when they kept referring back to the red shoe even though its not significant in the

Adversarial System Cooperation
The court component of the justice system does have an adversarial relationship, but
cooperation is a big part of the functionality of our court system. Adversarial
relationships are those that has each group on opposing sides, like the prosecution
and the defense in the court component of the criminal justice system. I agree with
the research on criminal courts that cooperation in necessary in order for the court
component to function. Although this is an adversarial system cooperation is seen
among the prosecution and defense to a point in different aspects of the court
component out of necessity. The adversarial nature of the relationship among these
two particular court room actors (Prosecution and Defense) is shown in during the

Discovery is a sign of this cooperation. Discovery in criminal court proceedings is
where the prosecution gives the defense any known evidence that may clear the

own lawyer, tend to be co opted to become agent mediators who help the accused
redefine his situation and restructure his perceptions concomitant with a plea of
guilty. (Cole Gertz, Module 4, page 297). The adversarial role of both parties during
trial is to protect the client. The trial is fought among the defense and prosecution to
present all the facts of a case and to show why the defendant is guilty in the eyes of
the prosecution and why the defendant is not guilty in the eyes of the

This competition was proven successful with the revenue for the first year, with a
gain on sales of $30 million for Best Buy and $38 million for Future Shop.
3. How does the Best Buy situation in China differ from its situation in Canada?
The buying situation differs in Canada from china, by several reasons. Best Buy
Company had an entry strategy for each country, but the environment in china didn t
was as they were expecting. The Chinese were not familiar to the concept of credit, as
in United States and Canada, this fact made the paying system more complex than
what they were expecting.
Also the consumer behavior in china was very different than in Canada. In china the
saving rates per family were much higher than in Canada and Usa. Families were
accustomed to save a considerable amount of money for other future issues rather
than in electronic products as in Canada and Usa, which are higher consumer
societies.
The situation for new entrants was very complex in china; acquisition of cities took
much longer than in developed countries. Starting a new business in china was not a
rapid process. Making relationships between channels was a slow process, because
manufacturers, distributors, and other actors preferred to negotiate with people who
they knew before, in china personal relationships are quite important in businesses.
Some factors that influenced this process were
Tina Fey s Mean Girls
Mean Girls has produced a fan cult like following. It also fully portrays the real
struggles of High School. This pure classic can be fully understood by all age
groups. Tina Fey used Queen Bees and Wannabes by Rosalind Wiseman as the basis
for this outrageous comedy. Not only has it become a social icon that fully
represents literally archetype such as, the queen bee, loss of innocence, and the
outcast. The Settings played a huge part in the close to home factor and the two
major locations were the high schooland the dance.
To begin with, the queen bee, Regina George, was the main reason for the story. In a
fairy tale, the queen bee would be the evil witch or queen that everyone bows down
to. From the outside looking in, everyone
Investigation of Tissues Essay
Investigation of Tissues
Tissues are defined as a group of associated, similarly structured cells that with their
ground substance act together in the performance of a specialised function for the
survival of the multicellular organism. The tissues are classified into four main
groups which are epithelial, connective, muscle and nervous.
(http://encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia accessed 08 October 2004)
Epithelial Tissues
Epithelial tissues form the covering of all body surfaces with the functions being to
provide protective covering, absorption, secretion, diffusion, sensation and
contractility. They are tightly packed together with little intercellular matrix and can

Connective tissue examples are; adipose (fatty tissues), loose connective tissue, dense
fibrous connective tissue, elastic connective tissue, cartilage, osseous tissue (bone),
tendons and ligaments.
I have chosen to look more at adipose (fatty tissue):
Adipose is a specialised type of connective tissue which stores lipids. It collects in
large numbers and is shaped to be large round or oval cells. Adipose has a similar
function to that of fibrous tissue, which throughout the body connects by irregular
network of strands to form a cushion layer to support blood vessels, nerves and other
organs.
Adipose is essential for insulation due to its low thermal capacity which allows the
body to retain heat, thus functioning normally. Its other vital function is that of
protection of delicate organs such as the eyes and kidneys. Fat cells offer this by
forming liquid and being excellent at absorbing pressure as they cannot be flattened.
Adipose tissue is needed for the body to turn to in times of need due to it being
able to form a food reserve. Excess carbohydrates are made into glycogen and turned
into fat and stored within adipose tissue which when energy is required by the body
converts back.
Adipose tissue is normally localised to certain depots within the body such
The Four Elements Of Earth Bending
IВґve always believed that the pillars of planet Earth are the four main elements. Of
course I am referring to Air, Water, Fire and Earth. Imagine having the ability to
harness and bend each of these four elements into anything you desire. Each one of
these elements has their own different but unique characteristic. They all have
endless possibilities depending on how you decide to use each one of them.
Let us start with the simplest one, the Air element. This element is really basic.
Although Air bending sounds really simple there are a lot of things you are able to
do with it. You can create air rushes, tornadoes and other kind of aerial disruptions.
However, the most interesting characteristic of being an Air bender is that you have

your own wounds. But my favorite use of water bending is blood bending. This
ability as the name implies consists of you having the ability to control the blood of
any being either being an animal or a human being. You can manipulate all of their
actions; they are basically puppets to the grand puppet master that you

accomplishments, Mandela was greatly influenced through his reading and

Though I have read small amounts of it, the struggles Mandela went through to
become the great leader he is today is inspiring. I would also read War and Peace
simply because it was Mandela s favorite book. The Kite Runner by Khaled

Dealing with the importance of combating injustice, To Kill a Mockingbird by
Harper Lee seems to be a straightforward lesson. The Age of Innocence by Edith
Wharton, as I have heard, is a book that would make you angry. The moral lesson is
that one should have courage to be themselves and not follow the status quo.
Gulliver s Travels by Jonathan Swift is just a staple piece every human being must
read. It is a satire on the nature of humans spiced with tales of travelers. Being the
science fiction nerd I am, The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien seems to be well
suited for me along with The Hobbit as the two combine adventure and unnatural

My Life I Have Been Exposed With Little Diversity Essay
Throughout my life I have been exposed to little diversity. I grew up in what is
considered to be the whitest city in America , in schools that were even less
diverse. In fact, I went to the third richest public high school per capita in the
country with a student body that was 98% white. It may seem like I am flaunting
myself, however, it is the opposite. Growing up in a city neighborhood where I was
rarely exposed to outside affliction, I never truly grasped the true meaning of
freedom . Of course, like in most schools, my professors would discuss it in class,
but it is impossible to comprehend a concept without experiencing, witnessing or
reading about it in depth. Throughout high school, freedom to me was refusing a
curfew and staying up late with friends, aware, but rarely caring about went on
outside my bubble. Despite not accepting it at the time, I was what most upper
middle class white kids are. Ignorant.
Fortunately, I decided to branch out and travel more than 3,000 miles to come to a
small liberal arts college (little did I know that one class would change my
perspective on freedom entirely). Throughout the term nearly all the books had a
theme of freedom, however, five stood out in particular Democracy and Its Global
Roots by Amartya Sen, On Liberty by John Stuart Mill and The Republic by Plato,
The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Frederick Engels and Omelas by Ursula
le Guin. Throughout the semester Human Experience gave me the opportunity to

Heart Rate Anticipatory Response
Heart rate anticipatory response this is where the heart rate starts to automatically
increase before you start to exercise. The heart rate is able to increase automatically
by chemical hormones, the hormones are adrenaline and noradrenaline. These
hormones are found inside the brain. The reason the heartrate increase before exercise
is because it prepares the muscles for exercise, the reason it prepares the muscles
for exercise is because by the heart rate increase the more oxygen is getting to the
muscles there fore they will not be needing a such a large oxygen supply all at
once. It doesn t only supply oxygen it supply s nutrients, the supply of nutrients also
provides energy and helps to repair the muscles after exercise. By the heart rate
starting to increase gives the heart a head to start pumping hard this enables the heart
to not have as much stress on it.
Activity response activity response is when your brain can start to sense
cardiovascular activity. The brain is able to make changes in the heart rate, the
change includes heart rate increase and the strength of the heart pumping blood
around the body. The red blood cells can also be altered to if they need more oxygen

Vasoconstriction is when the working muscles are not getting the oxygen they
need because the veins and vessels are stopping the blood flow. In this process of
vasoconstriction the diameter of the vessels get smaller therefore the blood that is
able to flow out of the blood vessels gets decreased. Blood vessels constrict together
instead of being relaxed. This happens during exercise because that s when the
working muscles need oxygen. The other muscles don t need as much oxygen there
for when the blood gets there it gets redirected to the other muscles that are working
and that require more oxygen. Therefore when exercising the legs the stomach
wouldn t get as much blood to use as the legs

How Did Socrates Corrupt Youth
Socrates was a wise philosophical man that was in search of the truth about
wisdom. However, his answers of true wisdom and his opinions lead Socrates to be
brought up on charges. Many viewed him as a corrupting influence on other people
accused him of forcing his ideas upon others. Socrates was charged with two charges,
the first one was impiety and the second one was the corrupting of the youth.
Socrates responded to these charges by denying the fact that his wisdom and
philosophical activities had caused no harm to the society he lives in. Socrates
defense against the charge that he does not believe in the gods is honest and
sufficient. Socrates states that the accusers are in the wrong for accusing Socrates

Socrates questions Meletus, one of the men that accused him of corrupting the
youth. During this trial, he says that Meletus only pretends to care and be serious
of things he has never cared about before. Socrates asks him, do you not regard it as
most important how the youth will be the best possible? (24 d), and Meletus does
not respond at first but then says that the judges and the laws are what shapes the
youth to make them better. Socrates defends himself by saying that the only reason
they brought him to trial is because they did not like Socrates ignorance and find him
irritating. Socrates was the only one who cared about teaching the youth because he
understood that they were important and they were the future. For it would be a great
happiness for the young if one alone corrupts them, while the others benefit them. But
in fact, Meletus, you have sufficiently displayed that you never yet gave any thought

Disadvantages of Mexico s Economy
The Disadvantages of Mexico s Economy
The United States of America has many advantages such as natural resources, a stable
government, and advanced technology. Its southern neighbor, Mexico, has not had as
much luck. Mexico s unfortunate terrain and unstable government has hindered its
ability to gain any significant amount of wealth as a nation. In his novel, All the
Pretty Horses, Cormac McCarthy shows us the difference in the wealth of these two
nations through the travels of John Grady Cole and Lacy Rawlins. McCarthy gives
readers an example of Mexico s economic status when he writes,

Similarly, an article from the Economist, shows readers that the justice system
remains corrupt when it claims that, in Mexico, a recent study by CIDAC, a think
tank, found that 96% of crimes went unpunished... As a result, many Latin
Americans do not bother to report crimes (Economist). The article also states that,
police [are seen] as part of the problem... police are too often abusive, corrupt and
incompetent or even criminal (Economist). By stating high statistics, such as 96% of
crime [go] unpunished and 75% of crimes go unrecorded , the article makes the lack
or crime control clear. McCarthy and the article from the Economist makes the
corrupt status of the Mexican justice system obvious to readers and helps to show
that tainted justice is another factor leading to Mexico s poor economic status.
A lack of natural resources, leading to barren land, is another contributing factor to
Mexico s struggling economy. McCarthy gives readers an example of Mexico s
empty terrain when he writes about John Grady and Rawlins crossing the border.
McCarthy writes:

as the Rio Grande and beyond that all was white.
It dont show nothin down there, does it? Said Rawlins.

Ancient Greek Government
My essay will be about the Greek civilization about 4000 years ago. I will be
explaining the government and how it affects the modern day. These paragraphs will
be involving the explanation of the three organization to make the Greek
government. The three will be including Ekklesia, Boule, and Dikasteria. All three
will have their own paragraph explaining how they work on their own and how they

The method of the ancient Greeks government were that the Greeks were a

all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives. The
years 507 B.C, a leader of Athens, Cleishenes, made known that a new system were

establishments; the first being The Ekklesia known for writing laws and dealing
with foreigners involving the Sovereign governing body of Athens. The meetings
were held about 40 times a year on a hillside in in an Acropolis of one called Pnyx.

Essay on Ford Competition
In a present day of global warming, environmental issues, labor unions, and other
impacts, the automobile industry is in an era of instability and change. Ford
Motor Company has been traditionally considered one of the Big Three in the auto
industry, but they are not adapting as well as hoped to the changing industry, and
will have to strategize to survive in a struggling industry. There are many different
risk factors for Ford and its competitors. In this paper we will look at two
competitors for Ford that are also considered to be members of the Big Three and
coincidently, are not adapting to changes in the auto industry as quickly as other
competitors. These other companies are General Motors (GM) and Daimler Chrysler.

Ford feels that although steps have been taken to lower their health care expenses,
the cost to the company will continue to rise for the foreseeable future. Foreign car
manufacturers have on average lower health care and employee costs, giving them
an advantage over Ford, GM, and Daimler Chrysler. Ford Motor Co is hoping to
take steps to offset the costs of employee benefits; however, this could also lead to
negative publicity for the company. Foreign auto makers are able to maintain lower
costs with non unionized and on average, younger employees. The next risk factor
for the auto industry is commodity and energy price increases. Steel and resin
(plastic) are the two most used commodities for auto manufacturers, and they are
products in high demand for many industries. Rising awareness of sustainability and
rising demand for these products has lead to recent price increases, and it is
estimated to continue this trend. This factor targets all of the auto industry, but again
hits the big three and other auto manufacturers harder then it does some of the
foreign car manufacturers. Japanese auto makers have long been seen as efficient
smaller car manufacturers, where the big three have moved to the larger SUV type
vehicle. By building smaller vehicles, Japanese auto makers reduce their dependency
and therefore their costs on steel and resin. The second risk coming from the
comparative sizes of vehicles being manufactured by the auto makers is the cost

Turpin s standards in her eyes. The readers can see through Mrs. Turpins thoughts

grandmother remembers that the house was somewhere else however; she decided

How Does the Play Macbeth Follow What Is Expected in a...
The Shakespearean play Macbeth follows what is expected in a Shakespearean
tragedy by containing characteristics similar to all Shakespearean tragedies. These
are the fatal flaws in Macbeth, the fall of noble, respectable man with great qualities,
Macbeth, and Macbeth s terrible murder of the King in order to obtain the crown,
which causes absolute chaos.
Macbeth s character contains fatal flaws that cause him to do evil. These fatal
flaws are a limitation to Macbeth s otherwise worthy character, and they include
over ambition, greed, a power hungry nature and a weak will. For example, in Act
1, Scene 7, lines 25 28, Macbeth admits that the only reason he has to kill the king is
ambition, which isn t a good enough reason. I have ... Show more content on

This follows what is expected in a Shakespearean tragedy, as the play tells of the fall
of a great man, who had wonderful qualities but by the end is no longer held in
esteem.
Macbeth s terrible murder of the King in order to obtain the crown causes absolute
chaos and disturbs the Natural Order, or balance of the universe, and so he is
punished for this. By murdering the king, Macbeth causes Duncan s sons to flee
Scotland, allowing Macbeth to obtain the throne. This disturbs the Natural Order,
as the rightful heir isn t on the throne, and slowly Macbeth pays for his evil deeds
through his descent into evil. Macbeth is soon punished for all his cruel and
wicked deeds, and his punishment is death by Macduff. Afterwards, the Natural
Order is re established as Duncan s son Malcolm rightfully obtains the throne, but
many lives have been lost along the way. For example, after Duncan s murder, his
sons fear for their own lives, and flee to other countries. Let s not consort with

their lives, distrusting all those around them. Their flight leaves the throne free for
Macbeth, who is given the title without question. The

the female model is standing vs. the male model is standing; the female is
performing a medico task while the male is simply reading. Contrasting this of the
1950s artist Edward Steichen, who was known for his contributes to fashion
photography; his models would wear the gowns designed by the fashion designer
Paul Poiret and his style highlighted the model, using traditional portrait style and soft
lighting to give a sophisticated look revealing to his time. (___) In comparison you
can see that throughout history the expectations of photography have changed
drastically and the objectification of women has only gotten worse. In order to sell
products sex has been the most used subject and its still existing today.
Another designer that has directly influenced fashion photography in a more sexual
way is Helmet Newton. He was referred to the King of Kink , this influential fashion
photographer made his name by shooting models in noticeable, provocative black and
white images for vogue, (_____). Assuming he could get away with this imagery
because he was a well known artist, the nudes where argued to be artistic more then
objectifying. But in making a statement as such the expression of the women in his
photos speak another story. He captures the convincing, unclothed, white, big breasted
women in compromising locations in which the

This was a time period during the industrial era where machines have become more
prominent. The east coast of the United States had been becoming very
modernized while the west was slowly catching up. The game Red Dead
Redemption shows how historically accurate life was like back in the early
nineteen hundreds. The year is nineteen eleven and you are first introduced to
rough and rugged protagonist john Marston a former outlaw who escaped his
gang and is trying to hunt down his former gang in order to live his life with
family. Although John Marston is trying to hunt down his former gang, he finds
out that he is going to embark in a great adventure that takes him in to the unsettled
territory of the American Frontier. John will face many trials and tribulations when
he goes head first into the Wild West. The game starts off of John Marston in a
train leaving a city known as Black water. The town of Black water is portrayed as
the most developed and civilized city in the game. The buildings are well
constructed, the people are well dressed and polite, and there is law and order in
the city. But after you get on train headed west you end up in a small town know as
Armadillo. As soon as you get of the train John has to avoid a drunken person who
stumbled out of the saloon (Gamespot, 2017). As the player in the game you quickly
pick up the difference between the city of Black water and the frontier town of
Armadillo. The own of Armadillo is some what developed.
Graphic Novel Conventions
I used five different conventions in my Graphic Novel. I used different lengths
panels to symbolize how long the time in the panel is and also to emphasize the
moods in them. For example, when Ursula tells Sylvie how she feels about
remembering events from her previous life. Also I used facial expressions in order
to help the reader sympathize with the characters and to help further, show the
emotions of the characters. Hand actions also helped with showing the expressions
and it helps the ready to know in which tone the character is saying their line. In
order to show a memory, I used blurred edges of the panel to symbolize that it is
unclear as it is not happening right this moment. Also I used the dotted box in order
to symbolize whisper and to extenuate that it is not a common belief that some people
have a second sight.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
EVERYTHING FAMILIAR SOMEHOW was the first thing Ursula said in this
chapter, so I decided to keep it as it gets the entire scene going. I kept it in all
capital letter, in order to keep it as close as possible to original text. Also I used the
yelling bubble to further emphasize Ursula s frustration that will be evident later on
in this scene. Words and phrases echoed themselves, strangers seemed like old
acquaintances. It is like things had happened many times before Ursula says this
when Sylvie does not believe her and says that she has dГ©jГ vu. I used a facial
expression, which shows worrisome, in order to emphasize that Ursula is saying
this because Sylvie does not believe her. I constantly have the terrible fear, fearful
terror that I carry around inside me. The dark landscape within. I think this is an
important quote because it shows how Ursula is feeling about having these
memories. I emphasized it by her facial expression and her hands to show that she is
scared. Also in this scene Sylvie s expression shows concern for
The Tasman Glacier And Its Impact On The World
Introduction
The Tasman glacier is located in the heart of the Southern Alps, in the South Island
of New Zealand. Tasman Glacier is New Zealand s biggest glacier and therefore is
an attraction. however, the Glacier has been retreating due to a number of processes
which are operating. The retreat is evident in the years between 2000 2006, for
example the Glacier had retreated at approximately 54 metres per year (Robert C.
Dykes, Brook, Winkler, 2010). The aim of this research was to gain an understanding
as to why and how the Tasman Glacier is retreating, in relation to the processes that
are operating in the environment. The use of a range of aerial images and the aid
of a stereoscope helped to achieve the aim, by allowing a close examination of the
area, and giving a visual representation. Consequently, this allowed for the natural
landform features to be identified and provide evidence as to why and how the
Glacier is retreating. The importance of understanding the changing Glacier is
paramount. This is because constant retreat can affect the surrounding landscape, for
example if the Tasman Glacier continues to retreat it could lead to more ice melt will
fill the Tasman Lake. Thus, resulting in a lake rise. Therefore, if we understand how
and why the glacier is changing, measures can be taken to help prevent further,
extreme retreat. Methods
To obtain results to be able to identify changes to the Tasman Glacier and process
that may be causing this, a series of images
Theme Of Death And The Miser
The theme we created for Death and the Miser is Forgiveness overrules your
mistakes. Everyone in life makes mistakes but it s the forgiveness you get
afterwards that counts. This theme applies to my groups story of Death and the
Miser in many ways. An example would be when the Miser steals the indulgences
and sells them for his own profit; the church later on forgives him for what he had
done. I chose the movie Magnolia directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and the novel
The Last Song written by Nicholas Sparks to demonstrate my theme for my version
of Death and the Miser. My first genre that I have chosen is a movie. The movie that
applies to my theme is Magnolia directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. I found this
movie on the website InspiredGroup.com.
Motivations For Beowulf
The epic of Beowulf, the most precious relic of Old English, and, indeed, of all
early Germanic literature... ( While reading Beowulf, many have a series of
questions throughout the epic poem. On of the many questions is about what
motivates the epic hero of the tale to danger his life. Beowulf lives in Geatland and
shows up in the land of the Danes and asks to fight a monster to help them. He ends
up fighting the monster s mother as well as a deadly dragon. What motivates Beowulf
to go after these three monsters? Beowulf goes after the monsters because of Anglo
Saxon codes, for vengeance, and fame. To begin, when Beowulf gets to the land of
the Danes he is only there because of his duty. In Anglo Saxon culture, if you were
able to do something to help someone else it was your... Show more content on

Beowulf knows he will be injured trying to kill the beast but wants to do it
anyways. Beowulf brings a whole group of warriors to come watch him kill the
dragon and help him if he becomes too injured to continue. Beowulf says this before
the fight, ...I will fight again, seek fame still... (626). He knows how difficult the
battle will be, he knows how old he is, yet he knows that he would protect his people
and gain fame from killing the monstrous beast. As Peter Leithart says about the
actions of Beowulf, The hero acts out of devotion to his lord or to his people, but
dragon acts out of malice. (Leithart). He says here that the reason that Beowulf goes
to kill the dragon is out of devotion to his people and to become more famous.
Beowulf makes the ultimate sacrifice to save his people. To conclude, Beowulf s
motivations are fame, obligation, and vengeance. Without the ideals of the Anglo
Saxon times, Beowulf would have almost no reason to fight Grendel. However,
because of the codes that they had in their culture, Beowulf was created to show
other people how to act and what to do about duty and
Theme Between The Great Gatsby And The Truman Dream
The American Dream, a concept of which every American is granted equal
opportunity allowing the highest aspirations to be achieved and every person to live
a better, richer and fuller life. Throughout films The Great Gatsby and The Truman
Show directors Baz Luhrman and Peter Weir both depict a message to society
presenting the unfulfilling reality of this pursuit. Both directors present this idea
through the use of stylistic features, film techniques and conventions including
setting, costuming, characterisation, structure, style, camera angles, sound and
lighting.
When comparing settings between The Great Gatsby and The Truman Show both
films are very different however both communicate the same idea of the perfect
lifestyle of the American dream. Luhrman uses a wealthy 1920 s lifestyle set in
Long Island, New York City, dividing the island into two areas known as the west
egg and the east egg which can also be represented as old money and new money.
In the 1920 s and still to this day Long Island was home of the rich and famous
upper class citizens. Early in the film the audience is presented with an
establishing shot of Gatsby s mansion. Nick describes Gatsby s mansion by saying,
The one on my right was a colossal affair by any standard it was a factual imitation
of some Hotel de Ville in Normandy, with a tower on one side, spanking new under
a thin beard of raw ivy, and a marble swimming pool, and more than forty acres of
lawn and garden. Gatsby s mansion

Macbeth Research Paper When studying literature or reading a play, our attention is
drawn to the protagonist or antagonist. Shakespeare directs our attention onto
heroism, which can be seen across all of his plays like Macbeth or Julius Caesar. The
protagonists Macbeth and Banquo conquer the evils that face them throughout the
plot. However, the nature of violence that takes place throughout Shakespeare s
plays is in relation to the source of the killing of the soul (Macbeth and the Nature
of Evil). In Macbeth, Macbeth is known as a superhuman warrior, the characteristics
of being brave and having ambition. The main reason evil stirs up violence can be
seen as examples in Macbeth and Julius Caesar, which is caused by evil being
incompatible with humanity (Shakespeare s Play Themes). The murders in
Macbeth and Julius Caesar are both examples of the rotation of the natural order.
The killing of King Duncan in Macbeth is a prime example how evil and violence
is shown into a comparison into Julius Caesar. Shakespeare uses a common theme
in all plays that all relates back to reality (The Killing of King Duncan).
Shakespeare also uses the literary device of repetition to create a theme (The
Killing of King Duncan). In Macbeth the word blood is repeated due to creating the
theme and the word blood allows the readers to remember that evil is a result to
violence and anger. Blood is also
Breastfeeding Research For Infant Feeding Decision Making
Breastfeeding research is primarily focused on outcomes, such as: conclusions of
health for mothers and babies, measuring terms of success standards within the
breastfeeding dyad of exclusivity or duration, identifying groups who have more
success with breastfeeding intention. However the current literature does not
thoroughly explain why women choose to breastfeed or choose not to breastfeed, and
the point in time in which they decide.
This chapter proposes that the methodological framework that would best support
viewing such a wide range of data across many disciplines is crystallization, which
helps present findings in a multifaceted and innovative way without losing possible
outliers. This methodology allows for the inclusive of both positivism and
interpretivism research with creative outcomes and solutions. Further, while the
overriding aim of this research is to define the variables associated with infant feeding
decision making, there is an opportunity to use this information to support
breastfeeding research, interventions, education, and ultimately individual satisfaction
with personal decisions.
Thus, first we will explore the way data was collected for review within this project,
and the participants being studied, using what types of instrumentation. In this way
we can fully discuss crystallization methodology as a way to analyze the given
research. There are precedents for mixed method studies and crystallization in
breastfeeding research as well as

Cause And Effect Essay Format. How To Write A Cause And Effect Essay Essay Writing

  • 1. Cause And Effect Essay Format Crafting an essay on the topic of "Cause and Effect Essay Format" presents a unique set of challenges that demands a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. The intricacies lie not only in the need for a profound comprehension of the cause-and-effect relationship but also in the skillful application of a structured and coherent format. To begin with, one must delve into the complexities of causation, analyzing various factors and their interplay in a given scenario. This involves extensive research to unearth relevant information, statistics, and real-life examples that effectively illustrate the cause-and-effect dynamics. The meticulous gathering of data is a time-consuming process, requiring a discerning eye to filter out pertinent details amidst a sea of information. Once armed with a trove of data, the challenge shifts to the organization and structuring of the essay. The cause-and-effect relationship demands a logical flow that is both easy to follow and compelling. This necessitates a keen sense of coherence, ensuring that each paragraph seamlessly transitions into the next, guiding the reader through a clear and comprehensible narrative. Furthermore, striking the right balance between causation and correlation poses another hurdle. It requires a nuanced approach to avoid oversimplification or overcomplication of the relationship between various factors. The writer must tread carefully, navigating the fine line between depth of analysis and accessibility for the audience. In addition to these challenges, adherence to a specific essay format adds an additional layer of complexity. Meeting the expectations of proper introduction, body, and conclusion while effectively weaving the cause-and-effect narrative throughout demands a mastery of organizational skills. In summary, composing an essay on the intricacies of cause and effect, while adhering to a structured format, is a demanding task that requires a deep understanding of the topic, rigorous research, and skillful organization. • 3. Plato vs Isocrates Essay Plato encouraged in his writings that the view that sophists were concerned with was the manipulative aspects of how humans acquire knowledge. (Lecture) Sophists believed that only provisional or probable knowledge was available to humans but both Plato and Isocrates did not agree with a lot of what the Sophists had to say. They both believed in wisdom and having a connection with rhetoricbut vary in defining wisdom in itself. Wisdom for Socratesand Platois having an understanding of speech, knowledge of truth and being able to question the speaker in order to seek and reveal truth. Isocrates defined wisdom as having a sense of integrity and character along with the ambition and ability to speak well with others. Socrates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (167) One who knows knowledge, more so, one who loves wisdom, delivers their wisdom, knowledge and understanding to others. Since wisdom is the understanding of speech, knowing truth and questioning credibility, rhetoric does not produce knowledge. It delivers the knowledge to others. Being wise is being able to recognize and acknowledge the hidden truth of speech and creating a sense of understanding with that knowledge. Socrates and Plato differ from Isocrates by believing that rhetoric, which distributes wisdom, comes from the soul. The man whose rhetorical teaching is a real art will explain accurately the nature of that to which his words are to be addressed, and that is the soul. (163) Ones soul is affected by decisions made by the human form and also by those interacting with the soul. The wise man s soul contains wisdom, truth and intelligence. Thus, by interacting with a bad soul or a soul with bad intent lowers to soul of a just and wise man. Since rhetoric is distributing knowledge to others, the soul should be used when making hard and uncertain decisions. The soul of a wise person holds ultimate truth and its human form knows how to seek out knowledge and understanding to find ultimate truth by ways of questioning. To the contrary, Isocrates believes that wisdom has nothing to do with the soul and the heavens, for he claims that the gods in the heavens have disputes.
  • 4. Induction By David Hume Induction is a form of reasoning in which the premises of an argument support the conclusion, David Hume (1711 1776), in his book A Treatise of Human Nature of induction, wrote; instances of which we have had no experience resemble those of which we have had experience (pp. 89) [1]. Adamson (1999) wrote that evidence shows that induction was first scrutinised in the late 17th and early 18th century, when contemporary views of the world were questioned, near the end of the scientific revolution [2]. Chalmers (1999), continues, stating that the recognition of the problem of induction was the starting point for a sceptical attack of a large domain of accepted beliefs and opinions that are ordinarily taken to be knowledge , showing the impact philosophical questioning had on a diverse range of belief systems [3]. David Hume is recognised as one of the first philosophers to question the validity of induction, and the father of The Problem of Induction , a lasting philosophical question. He began by doubting the ability and validity of a posteriori knowledge to demonstrate causality. Hume speculated whether induction provides reliable evidence, and whether it is rational for us to believe inductive knowledge if the basis is not objective, and whether we can rationally justify beliefs that stem from the unobserved (Hume, pp. 193 4) [4], a rational being would not trust conclusions drawn from the uncertain. Hume acknowledges that humans instinctively use induction, through

In this global context, voluntary social and environmental practices of business, going beyond companies existing legal obligations, can play a major role in filling the governance gap in an innovative way. The sector is characterized by controls across the entire value chain of sugar production and sale, which not only hampers its efficiency but also exacerbates the cyclicality in sugar and sugarcane production. The growth and development in sugar sector in the country in general and in the state of Uttar Pradesh in particular has multiple linkages with social, economic and environmental issues. The purpose of this study is to conduct a triple bottom line assessment of sugarcane value chain and suggest alternatives that could improve the current sustainable practices of CSR across various stakeholders. • 6. Mental Health Intake Form Of The Intake I currently work at an SMI clinic for TERROS and I selected an intake form off of the internet instead of the intake for my work because our intake is a template that generates into a document once signed by all appropriate parties. I must say this random mental health intake form I found is extremely similar. I think these forms are now somewhat standardized and having just recently started filling out assessments of this nature and doing service plans with behavioral health recipients. I must confess it is difficult to get all of these answers out of clients and to keep their attention long enough to complete this paperwork. I feel often times we must resort to generic answers that do not give us a full understanding f who these people are and what their needs are, but it is a good resource to have a basic understanding of a client and when sharing information with other people on the clinical team good note taking skills and complete forms makes communication and client service much more efficient. Does the intake form ask all of the necessary questions to determine what the client s presenting problem is? I think this form does an adequate asking what the presenting problem is by up front asking what the problems are that the individual is seeking help for and giving the client space to say in their own words what their problem is. I also like that after the open ended questionof the presenting problem there is a checklist of symptoms for the client to prompt
  • 7. Disadvantages Of Laparoscopy Introduction Laparoscopy has revolutionized surgery during the last three decades; however, the roots of minimally invasive surgery can be traced back much earlier, to ancient times. The first description of endoscopic procedures came from Hippocrates, who inserted different instruments into various body orifices, in order to observe anatomy and pathological processes. The first celioscopies were described in the early 20th century by the German surgeon Kelling, who used a cystoscope inserted through an abdominal wall incision in dogs to insufflate the abdomen with filtered air. Bernheim described his experience with organoscopies in his series of 17 live human subjects in 1911. The major breakthroughs in the field of laparoscopic surgery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once the surgeon gains sufficient laparoscopic skills, the hand can be left outside the abdominal cavity and the benefits of laparoscopy can be conferred upon the patient. Single incision laparoscopic surgery Some of the proven major advantages of conventional multiport laparoscopy (CML) over the open approach are reductions in pain, length of stay, wound complications, and improved cosmesis. Single port laparoscopic surgery (SILS) may further enhance the advantages of CML by performing the entire procedure through a single incision in the abdominal wall, thus minimizing surgical trauma. SILS represents the next evolutionary step in minimally invasive surgery, towards a totally scar free procedure; however, in this technique, the laparoscopic working ports are all introduced through the single incision, which contradicts the basic triangulation rule of laparoscopy. This method requires advanced laparoscopic skills when compared with CML, added complexity, and poorer ergonomics, while early studies have also reported a longer operating time than with CML. SILS has introduced several new, inherent, technical

Even though he is celebrated in the United States, Christopher Columbus should not be considered a hero. He took advantage of the generosity of the American natives he found. His greedy ambition had horrible results that most Americans do not even realize. Christopher Columbus was born in about 1451 in the Italian city of Genoa. In addition to feeding everyone, the Taino also maintained a spirituality that encompassed the respect of their animal and other natural food sources. They had no iron, but they wore tiny gold ornaments in their ears. The word Taino in the Arawaklanguage meant men of the good, and based on what the historians have seen these Taino people seem to be inherently good. (Barreiro) Well known for their remarkable hospitality, their belief in sharing, the native people were open, friendly, and welcoming to Columbus and his crew from the moment they stepped foot on the Taino s island. To the Taino people, Christopher Columbus and his crew were complete strangers who arrived carrying swords and speaking an unfamiliar language. Yet the Taino men, women, and children quickly emerged from their villages and ran onto the island s beaches to welcome these unwanted guests with food, water, and gifts. (Zinn)
  • 10. Medical Marijuana Legalization Global Impact of the Legalization of Medical Marijuana Medical marijuana has become an extreme controversy for many different countries around the world. According to the National Conference of State Legislation, twenty nine states in the United States have legalized medical marijuana, (State) along with select countries around the world. Different regions of the world have varying views and laws for medical cannabis. Medical marijuana can drastically improve the quality of ill people s lives, and ease pain that otherwise make daily life miserable. According to two well known professors at University of Salerno, cannabis has been used to relieve chronic pain, muscular cramps and neurological or spinal pains (Bifulco and Pisanti). Although medical marijuana s purpose would be to alleviate pain, some are concerned that it could be a gateway drug, which means it could potentially lead people to become addicted to stronger substances. California was the first state in the United States to pass laws making medical marijuana legal. As of 2017, thirty three American states or territories have passed similar laws regarding cannabis, leaving twenty three states with the illegalization of medical marijuana (State). Other countries within North America have also made medical marijuana legal, including Canada. According to Canada s government website, medical marijuana has been legal since 2001 (Marihuana). There are various differences between American and Indian marriage customs. It has always been a dream of mine to go and watch the super bowl, the biggest game of the year in the NFL. Next year, in 2017, I know it is possible for me to fund my own trip to Houston, where the big game will be held. This would be the experience of a lifetime for me and would honestly be something id never forget. I have a personal money budget of 3600 dollars and funding coming in from relatives as a result of my 18th birthday being only 5 months previous to the super bowl. That money is plenty and as long as I save smart I can easily fund my own trip to Houston on February 2nd, 2017 through February 6th. Given the trip is to take place next year there are no flights scheduled that far into the future however using the prices of flights to Houston currently, it would cost approximately $700 (kayak.com). The Plane would land thursday night, February 2nd, 2017, and that night I d reach my hotel and unpack. The hotel, actually being a hostel rather than a hotel, would cost $56 dollars a night, with all 4 nights amounting up to $224 (tripadvisor.com). Friday morning I d go to rent a vehicle and according to Kayak.com, a Nissan Versa is available the 3 days it would be needed for only $109 including tax. With the car I d drive 4 hours north to Arlington Texas to see the Dallas Cowboys AT T Stadium. It s always been a dream of mine to see AT T Stadium, and with this trip, it would be close enough to make a drive, albeit a very long drive, up there to see it. Though this does go against the ideal of living among the locals and getting that kind of advantage from travel, this is a different kind of advantage, the advantage of accomplishing a lifelong dream. Saturday however, I d spend the entire day in Houston, living amongst the people of Houston and doing activities the people do. Granted Houston is a fairly similar culture to where i am from and living among them isn t going to change my perspective on life as it did with Neil Shea in Paris and John Lancaster in Hawaii, but I d do my best with connecting with the culture of Houston and connect as deeply with the environment as possible. Things like horseback riding or possibly even local museums, symphonic orchestra showings, or the Aquarium. All this leads into Sunday where the entire day is dedicated to Super Bowl 51 which will also be the bulk of the cost of the trip. Tickets are estimated currently to be around $1500 which considering it s only March of 2016, that number is very liquid and could rise or fall

The Bystander Effect In Chronicle Of A Death Foretold The bystander effect, is a social psychological phenomenon that refers to cases in which individuals do not offer any means of help to a victim when other people are present (Weiten). Such reactions usually occur when individuals do not want to risk getting involved in the situation. In Chronicles of a Death Foretold, even though the townspeople do not desire the murder of Santiago Nasar, their unwillingness or lack of courage to take action in preventing this foretold murder consequently allows for the murder to happen. The idea of disturbing the status quo and risk of involvement overshadows the SucrГ© citizens moral values. • 19. Ursula Dubosarsky s The Red Shoe The Red Shoe is a charming novel composed by the astounding author, Ursula Dubosarsky. The events and happenings in this novel date back to the 1950s. It describes the wars, the diseases of the citizens back then, and detailed descriptions of what it was like in those days and how people lived differently from how we do today. It shows a kind of slice of life story style directing to the three sisters in the story. The book suggests war and spies and the effect of the both of them on individuals and families, threats of the diseases and the sexist attitudes dealing with the fact that men had more rights than women back then. Best Buy Company had an entry strategy for each country, but the environment in china didn t was as they were expecting. The Chinese were not familiar to the concept of credit, as in United States and Canada, this fact made the paying system more complex than what they were expecting. Also the consumer behavior in china was very different than in Canada. In china the saving rates per family were much higher than in Canada and Usa. Families were accustomed to save a considerable amount of money for other future issues rather than in electronic products as in Canada and Usa, which are higher consumer societies. The situation for new entrants was very complex in china; acquisition of cities took much longer than in developed countries. Starting a new business in china was not a rapid process. It collects in large numbers and is shaped to be large round or oval cells. Adipose has a similar function to that of fibrous tissue, which throughout the body connects by irregular network of strands to form a cushion layer to support blood vessels, nerves and other organs. Adipose is essential for insulation due to its low thermal capacity which allows the body to retain heat, thus functioning normally. Its other vital function is that of protection of delicate organs such as the eyes and kidneys. Fat cells offer this by forming liquid and being excellent at absorbing pressure as they cannot be flattened. Adipose tissue is needed for the body to turn to in times of need due to it being able to form a food reserve. Excess carbohydrates are made into glycogen and turned into fat and stored within adipose tissue which when energy is required by the body converts back. Adipose tissue is normally localised to certain depots within the body such

Foreign car manufacturers have on average lower health care and employee costs, giving them an advantage over Ford, GM, and Daimler Chrysler. Ford Motor Co is hoping to take steps to offset the costs of employee benefits; however, this could also lead to negative publicity for the company. Foreign auto makers are able to maintain lower costs with non unionized and on average, younger employees. The next risk factor for the auto industry is commodity and energy price increases. Steel and resin (plastic) are the two most used commodities for auto manufacturers, and they are products in high demand for many industries. Rising awareness of sustainability and rising demand for these products has lead to recent price increases, and it is estimated to continue this trend. This follows what is expected in a Shakespearean tragedy, as the play tells of the fall of a great man, who had wonderful qualities but by the end is no longer held in esteem. Macbeth s terrible murder of the King in order to obtain the crown causes absolute chaos and disturbs the Natural Order, or balance of the universe, and so he is punished for this. By murdering the king, Macbeth causes Duncan s sons to flee Scotland, allowing Macbeth to obtain the throne. This disturbs the Natural Order, as the rightful heir isn t on the throne, and slowly Macbeth pays for his evil deeds through his descent into evil. Macbeth is soon punished for all his cruel and wicked deeds, and his punishment is death by Macduff. Afterwards, the Natural Order is re established as Duncan s son Malcolm rightfully obtains the throne, but many lives have been lost along the way. For example, after Duncan s murder, his sons fear for their own lives, and flee to other countries. Let s not consort with themВ… I ll to England (2, 3, 131 133). To Ireland, I. Shakespeare uses a metaphor here ( daggers in men s smiles ) to show the fear and distrust felt by Duncan s sons fear for their lives, distrusting all those around them. Their flight leaves the throne free for Macbeth, who is given the title without question. The

I used different lengths panels to symbolize how long the time in the panel is and also to emphasize the moods in them. For example, when Ursula tells Sylvie how she feels about remembering events from her previous life. Also I used facial expressions in order to help the reader sympathize with the characters and to help further, show the emotions of the characters. Hand actions also helped with showing the expressions and it helps the ready to know in which tone the character is saying their line. In order to show a memory, I used blurred edges of the panel to symbolize that it is unclear as it is not happening right this moment. EVERYTHING FAMILIAR SOMEHOW was the first thing Ursula said in this chapter, so I decided to keep it as it gets the entire scene going. I kept it in all capital letter, in order to keep it as close as possible to original text. Also I used the yelling bubble to further emphasize Ursula s frustration that will be evident later on in this scene. Words and phrases echoed themselves, strangers seemed like old acquaintances. It is like things had happened many times before Ursula says this when Sylvie does not believe her and says that she has dГ©jГ vu. I used a facial expression, which shows worrisome, in order to emphasize that Ursula is saying this because Sylvie does not believe her. I constantly have the terrible fear, fearful terror that I carry around inside me. The dark landscape within. I think this is an important quote because it shows how Ursula is feeling about having these memories. I emphasized it by her facial expression and her hands to show that she is scared. Also in this scene Sylvie s expression shows concern for
  • 43. The Tasman Glacier And Its Impact On The World Introduction The Tasman glacier is located in the heart of the Southern Alps, in the South Island of New Zealand. Tasman Glacier is New Zealand s biggest glacier and therefore is an attraction. however, the Glacier has been retreating due to a number of processes which are operating. The retreat is evident in the years between 2000 2006, for example the Glacier had retreated at approximately 54 metres per year (Robert C. Dykes, Brook, Winkler, 2010). The aim of this research was to gain an understanding as to why and how the Tasman Glacier is retreating, in relation to the processes that are operating in the environment. The use of a range of aerial images and the aid of a stereoscope helped to achieve the aim, by allowing a close examination of the area, and giving a visual representation. Consequently, this allowed for the natural landform features to be identified and provide evidence as to why and how the Glacier is retreating. The importance of understanding the changing Glacier is paramount. This is because constant retreat can affect the surrounding landscape, for example if the Tasman Glacier continues to retreat it could lead to more ice melt will fill the Tasman Lake. Thus, resulting in a lake rise. Therefore, if we understand how and why the glacier is changing, measures can be taken to help prevent further, extreme retreat. Methods To obtain results to be able to identify changes to the Tasman Glacier and process that may be causing this, a series of images

I chose the movie Magnolia directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and the novel The Last Song written by Nicholas Sparks to demonstrate my theme for my version of Death and the Miser. • 45. Motivations For Beowulf The epic of Beowulf, the most precious relic of Old English, and, indeed, of all early Germanic literature... ( While reading Beowulf, many have a series of questions throughout the epic poem. On of the many questions is about what motivates the epic hero of the tale to danger his life. Beowulf lives in Geatland and shows up in the land of the Danes and asks to fight a monster to help them. He ends up fighting the monster s mother as well as a deadly dragon. What motivates Beowulf to go after these three monsters? Beowulf goes after the monsters because of Anglo Saxon codes, for vengeance, and fame. To begin, when Beowulf gets to the land of the Danes he is only there because of his duty. In Anglo Saxon culture, if you were able to do something to help someone else it was your... Beowulf brings a whole group of warriors to come watch him kill the dragon and help him if he becomes too injured to continue. Beowulf says this before the fight, ...I will fight again, seek fame still... (626). He knows how difficult the battle will be, he knows how old he is, yet he knows that he would protect his people and gain fame from killing the monstrous beast. As Peter Leithart says about the actions of Beowulf, The hero acts out of devotion to his lord or to his people, but dragon acts out of malice. (Leithart). He says here that the reason that Beowulf goes to kill the dragon is out of devotion to his people and to become more famous. Beowulf makes the ultimate sacrifice to save his people. To conclude, Beowulf s motivations are fame, obligation, and vengeance. Without the ideals of the Anglo Saxon times, Beowulf would have almost no reason to fight Grendel. However, because of the codes that they had in their culture, Beowulf was created to show other people how to act and what to do about duty and

Theme Between The Great Gatsby And The Truman Dream The American Dream, a concept of which every American is granted equal opportunity allowing the highest aspirations to be achieved and every person to live a better, richer and fuller life. Throughout films The Great Gatsby and The Truman Show directors Baz Luhrman and Peter Weir both depict a message to society presenting the unfulfilling reality of this pursuit. Both directors present this idea through the use of stylistic features, film techniques and conventions including setting, costuming, characterisation, structure, style, camera angles, sound and lighting. When comparing settings between The Great Gatsby and The Truman Show both films are very different however both communicate the same idea of the perfect lifestyle of the American dream. Luhrman uses a wealthy 1920 s lifestyle set in Long Island, New York City, dividing the island into two areas known as the west egg and the east egg which can also be represented as old money and new money. In the 1920 s and still to this day Long Island was home of the rich and famous upper class citizens. Early in the film the audience is presented with an establishing shot of Gatsby s mansion. Nick describes Gatsby s mansion by saying, The one on my right was a colossal affair by any standard it was a factual imitation of some Hotel de Ville in Normandy, with a tower on one side, spanking new under a thin beard of raw ivy, and a marble swimming pool, and more than forty acres of lawn and garden. • 47. William Shakespeare s Macbeth Essay Irene Pantazis Mr. Dudley Pr Ap English III 4 December, 2015 Macbeth Research Paper When studying literature or reading a play, our attention is drawn to the protagonist or antagonist. Shakespeare directs our attention onto heroism, which can be seen across all of his plays like Macbeth or Julius Caesar. The protagonists Macbeth and Banquo conquer the evils that face them throughout the plot. However, the nature of violence that takes place throughout Shakespeare s plays is in relation to the source of the killing of the soul (Macbeth and the Nature of Evil). In Macbeth, Macbeth is known as a superhuman warrior, the characteristics of being brave and having ambition. The main reason evil stirs up violence can be seen as examples in Macbeth and Julius Caesar, which is caused by evil being incompatible with humanity (Shakespeare s Play Themes). The murders in Macbeth and Julius Caesar are both examples of the rotation of the natural order. The killing of King Duncan in Macbeth is a prime example how evil and violence is shown into a comparison into Julius Caesar. Shakespeare uses a common theme in all plays that all relates back to reality (The Killing of King Duncan). Shakespeare also uses the literary device of repetition to create a theme (The Killing of King Duncan). In Macbeth the word blood is repeated due to creating the theme and the word blood allows the readers to remember that evil is a result to violence and anger. Blood is also

Breastfeeding Research For Infant Feeding Decision Making Breastfeeding research is primarily focused on outcomes, such as: conclusions of health for mothers and babies, measuring terms of success standards within the breastfeeding dyad of exclusivity or duration, identifying groups who have more success with breastfeeding intention. However the current literature does not thoroughly explain why women choose to breastfeed or choose not to breastfeed, and the point in time in which they decide. This chapter proposes that the methodological framework that would best support viewing such a wide range of data across many disciplines is crystallization, which helps present findings in a multifaceted and innovative way without losing possible outliers. This methodology allows for the inclusive of both positivism and interpretivism research with creative outcomes and solutions. Further, while the overriding aim of this research is to define the variables associated with infant feeding decision making, there is an opportunity to use this information to support breastfeeding research, interventions, education, and ultimately individual satisfaction with personal decisions. Thus, first we will explore the way data was collected for review within this project, and the participants being studied, using what types of instrumentation. In this way we can fully discuss crystallization methodology as a way to analyze the given research. There are precedents for mixed method studies and crystallization in breastfeeding research as well as
