when the parents , teacher and classmates are abusing about him:
 About Ishaan Awasthi:
Ishaan Awasthi is an 8 years old. Who is criticized by his parents for his poor
academic performance and is sent away to a boarding school. Ram an art
teacher, however realizes he has Dyslexia and helps him uncover his potential.
 Discussion Between Parents and his teacher during meetings:
These kids are very disorderly or instinctively orderly, and some of them suffer
from ADHD. These kids are extremely bad at time management and school is
the most stressful time for them. In studies these children remain confused as
to, ―What to do or what not to do?‖ These kids are sometimes called trouble
maker, class clowns, etc. They do not have many friends, sometimes no friend
at all. They are emotionally sensitive. In Taare Zameen Par, we 104 observe
that Ishaan is an extremely disorderly hyperactive child. He is very poor at
time management and in school; he is called clumsy and careless by his
teachers. When Ishaan parents go to meet the principal and teachers complain
about him:
Maths teacher:
Class work and homework, there is no improvement. Exactly like last year.
Books are still his enemies. Reading and writing is like a punishment. Sometime
his English handwriting looks like Russian. He keeps making the same
mistake. Does not pay any attention whatsoever.
English teacher:
All the time asking for permission to go toilet. ―I am thirsty, I want to go
susu. Thirsty…susu. He disturbs the whole class with his silly pranks.
Entering the Aamir Khan as an Art teacher :
Discussion Between Aamir Khan as a teacher and Parents:
In the film when Ram Shankar Nikumbh meets Ishaan„s father and asks to know
the reason why he sent him away. He says:
Ram Shankar Nikumbh: Why did you send him away? Hmm..? Why?
Ishaan„s father : We had no other option. Last year he failed in Grade3. Can you
believe it? Grade 3… and no sign of improvement. My elder son comes first in
every subject in every class but that fellow…. Ram Shankar Nikumbh: What do
you think his problem is?
Ishaan„s father : Problem? His attitude. What else? Towards his studies, towards
everything in life. He is mischievous, disobedient, rebellious. Does not
understand a word….
Ram Shankar Nikumbh: I am asking you his problem. You are telling me his
symptoms. You are telling me that the child has fever but that fever must have a
cause. What is that cause?
Ram Shankar Nikumbh explains the problem with Ishaan that he cannot fulfill
basic requirements of learning, such as he cannot read words, cannot understand
108 sounds of letters, their shapes, meaning of words. All these basic needs to be
understood which Ishaan cannot fulfill. But, his father says that these are all
rubbish excuses to avoid studies as some parents are reluctant to accept that their
child could be dyslexic. It is not only important for every parent to know the
problem of their child and also to provide them emotional support and care:
Ram Nikumbh: Caring. It is very important,
Mr.Awasthi. It has the power to heal. Like balm that soothes pain. The child
feels reassured that someone cares for him. An occasional hug, loving kiss…
just to show that I really care. ―My child, I love you. If you have any troubles, come to
me. So what if you slipped, messed up? I am there for you.„„ That assurance,
caring.
Describing the Disease:
Dyslexia Disease also known as reading disorder , is characterized trouble
with reading unrelated to problems with overall intelligence. Different people
are affected to varying degrees. Problems may include difficulties in spelling
words , reading quickly , writing words , sound out words in the head,
pronouncing words when reading aloud and understanding what one reads.
Often these difficulties are first noticed at school. The difficulties are
involuntary and people with this disorder have an unaffected desire to learn.
We can compile and make these entire features more concrete. Please look at the

Ishaan is an eight-year- old child. He is poor at reading, writing and
spelling. His gross motor skills are also very poor. But his teachers and parents
think that he is a clumsy and carefree child who does not take interest in studies.
He looks lost in school. He has problems in doing up his tie, and his shoe laces.
He cannot wear his dress properly. Thus, Taare Zameen Par presents Ishaan as a
dyslexic child. But the film does not end here. The film also talks about the
solution and discusses the role of parents and teachers.
Dyslexia is curable disorder and parents and teachers can make big
change in refining the abilities of a dyslexic child. Both teachers and parents are
best aware of the strong points and weaknesses of the child. The first and
important step for parents and teachers is to fulfill the emotional needs of the
child. In our country most of the parents are not aware of the learning disability
and that„s why they think that their child is sluggish, clumsy and careless, who
does not pay attention to studies.
Role of an Aamir Khan as an art teacher bring Ishaan Awasthi to bring up
to a normal:
Ishaan's new art teacher (Aamir Khan) suspects that he is dyslexic, and
helps him to overcome his disability.
Summary:
The film “Taare Zameen Par” has undoubtedly attracted the attention of
educationists, teachers, parents, administrators and others interested in
education. A film can change the thinking, attitudes, behaviours, and practice of
people much faster than any other technique.
Conclusion:
An eye opener for both parents and children , this movie clearly gives out
the message that children must not to be pressurized to be academically sound.
Instead , if they are encouraged to pursue their dreams and interests , happiness
and success will naturally unfold.
Achieved when we has done case study and moral of these movie:
Many children like Ishaan, who faced such kind of abnormalities and had
just a big question (?) started feeling secure that like Ishaan they can also
get a solution.
