Does Medea Deserve Sympathy Essay
In Euripides Medea, there are moments when a specific character is deserving of sympathy, and
instances when they don t deserve any sympathy at all. In the beginning, Medea deserves sympathy
due to her husband leaving her for royalty and another woman. However, neither characters deserve
sympathy when Medea s tells of her plans of killing her children, and Jason s want for Medea to
become an exile. Towards the end, Jason deserves sympathy for trying to do what s best for his family
and the death of his children, but Medea deserves no sympathy for the killing of Glauce, Creon and
her children.
In the beginning of the play, Medea is deserving of sympathy due to her husband s betrayal towards
her. Characters, like the Nurse and Chorus feel the sorrow that Medea ... Show more content on

Medea s hurt and anger turns into rage when she plans to make corpses of three of [her] enemies,
which shows her ambition of creating catastrophe around her to make Jason suffer the
consequences. The plan of Medea wanting to kill Glauce and her children shows the audience that
Medea is plotting for revenge and will do anything to make Jason suffer. Jason also doesn t deserve
sympathy as his want for power and his strive for ambition is the main issue in this play. Jason left his
wife to marry Glauce, the princess of Corinth, to make his life more powerful. Jason doesn t want
Medea ruining his chances of staying in Corinth and one day becoming king. When he finds out
Medea is making plans, he makes sure that Medea knows that Corinth cannot be a home for [Medea]
anymore, which shows that Medea must become an exile again, in Jason s eyes, so that he can one day
be king. Both Medea and Jason are in no need of sympathy from the audience, but once Medea
commits the murders of Glauce and the children, Jason deserves sympathy from the audience while

Computer Literacy Is The Level Of Proficiency And Fluency
1. Explain computer literacy.
Computer literacy is the level of proficiency and fluency someone possesses amid computers.
Nevertheless, computer literacy commonly implies to the capability to manipulate applications rather
than to program. Entities who are vastly computer literate are from time to time identified as power
users (Computer Literacy , n.d.). Computers have affected each of our lives: the manner by how we
work, the manner of how we learn, the manner in which we live, yet even the means we play. It
virtually is unfeasible to progress complete a single day without coming upon a computer, an
apparatus reliant on a computer, information created by a computer, or a word that was established or
whose implication has transformed with the introduction of computers. However, because of the
importance of computers in today s world, it is essential to be computer literate.
2. Explain computer algorithms and its significance.
A computer algorithm is a method or formula for deciphering a problem, based on accomplishing a
sequence of quantified actions. A computer program can be regarded as an intricate algorithm. In
mathematics and computer science, an algorithm ordinarily entails a lesser technique that answers an
intermittent question. Algorithms are commonly managed thru every area of information technology.
A search engine algorithm, selects search strings of keywords and functions as input, explores its
linked database for applicable web pages, and returns findings. An

Comparing Paul Laurence Dunbar, And Emily Dickinson s...
Success is the accomplishment of aim or purpose , Success is something everbody want but don t have
the opporunitty of getting. If you tell people where to go but not how to get there, you will be amazed
at the results. Success requires you to put in work; it never comes to you. Freedom could be looked at
as success. Freedom is never volunitary given by the oppressed. Martin Luther King Jr. The cost of
freedom is always high but could be paid in various ways. Paul Laurence Dunbar and Emily
Dickinson show different techniques of success throughout the poems.
In the poems Success is counted sweetest by Emily Dickinson and Not They Who Soar by Paul
Laurence Dunbar. Both authors shows their attitude towards success. Emily Dickinson shows a
effortless attitude thoughtout the poem about the purple host and not seeing clear to victory. Emily

Dave Eggers Ted Lessons
A life well lived is like an intricate frosted sugar cookie; a simple, yet easily mistaken recipe, but
when done right results in layers and depth of flavor and wonderfulness. A life well lived means that
you had an adventurous, fulfilling, and worthwhile time on earth, with family and friends that
supported you and you have no regrets. A common regret most people have as they age is that they
lost time, doing things they did not truly want to do. As a young person, I do not have much
experience, but I do know that at this time I would much rather be traveling and enjoying time with
family and friends over struggling in school and taking three tests a week. At the end of my life, I
want to be able to say that I had fun and that I travelled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the TED Talk by Dave Eggers, Eggers shares his story about opening a pirate themed tutoring
organization for young students. He had a rough time in the beginning, but he never gave up, and
eventually the tutoring organization at 826 Valencia became a well known and resource for young
kids. Through Eggers individuality and innovation of this themed tutoring center, students have
improved their writing and editing skills. Even though Eggers had a rough time in the beginning, he
never gave up on his idea to help students find their passion in their school work. Similarly, Jobs gives
meaningful advice about how his life was shaped and that how his dots fell into place, like going to
college and finding his passion for calligraphy, and putting his passion to work on a new, innovative
company. Jobs said it best when he explained the concept of connecting the dots, and that you must
trust your gut when those dots begin to connect. Both Jobs and Eggers had a pretty rough time in their
companies and they actually failed, but instead of dwelling on failure, they made something great out
of it, and they have become even more successful. By not looking back on failure and letting it defeat
them, they put it in the past and pushed forward. Another great point that Jobs added in his speech was
to stay hungry; what he meant by this is that you must look for new things to do and try to go outside
of your comfort zone this relates to Leon Stokesbury s poem, Unsent Message to My Brother in His
Pain, in that Stoskebury s advice was to not give up and find a better purpose of life. Eggers, Jobs, and
Stokesbury had similar ideas of not giving up just because life is getting hard fight through those hard
times and come out on top. Pushing through the rough patches will only make you stronger, and in the
long run, make you

Rhetorical Analysis Of Waiting For Superman
As a parent, you want the best for your child in life. What would you do if their entire future was
decided on one lottery that was out of your control? Waiting for Superman is a documentary that was
made in 2010 and created controversy among educators and parents everywhere. The director focuses
on 5 students that go through the process of trying to find a better education. In Waiting for Superman,
Davis Guggenheim (the director) investigates and uncovers the downfall of American education over
the years informing people the truth of what is truly going on. Guggenheim appeals to ethos by
including a concerned mother, such as Nakia, who can share values with the audience. Nakia does
everything she can to afford a good education for her daughter, Bianca. Knowing that if her daughter
goes to her zone public school she will fail to be prepared to go on to college and get the degree she
needs Nakia gets money any way she can, but still is unable to pay her child s school bills. By
incorporating this mother into the documentary the director expands the audience to mothers that
know what it is like to worry about their child s future. Guggenheim strengthens his movie by using
this rhetoric device throughout this piece. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He mentions a charter school called Kipp saying that, Kipp students will have doubled their math and
science scores by the time they graduate. Using this rhetoric device persuades the audience to agree
with the speaker s point because it states irrefutable facts that support his argument. Another example
of logos occurred when the author states that there is a direct correlation between students dropping
out of high school and students that go to prison. This appeals to logos because it gives facts to
emphasize the fact that going to a good high school has a big impact on your

Propaganda technique and its influences
Generally, we don t like advertisements and tend to avoid them when we are watching TV, enjoy a
music video on YouTube, or surfing on the Internet; but unfortunately, those advisements have
affected really much on our decisions. Do you believe it? The truth is that we see over 200 ads a day
following the Consumer Reports Website. Additionally, Tony Marlow, the director of strategic insights
at Yahoo claimed that: Ninety five percent of the decisions we make are made at an unconscious level.
As the result, we unconscious store a hundred of advertisements in our brains through the newspaper,

Hence, the Contrex Water Company has successfully connected the sex appeal, which gets our
attention, the exercising action and the bottle of water which are the product they want to sell.
Card Stacking is also a useful propaganda technique in making us believe in the advertisement. This
technique affects us by telling the half truth, using the statistics or the candidates to make we think
that the product is reliable. In one Air Conditional Samsung ad, appeal to housewife woman who is
standing in the dining room with a gun on her hands, and there one air conditioner behind her. Then,
in the middle of the ads, the marketer claimed that: Samsung AC s virus doctor protects you again all
kinds of virus, including H1N1. Below that claim are a small paragraph talk about the AC s features,
and that they have gotten a certificate from seven health associations. They also have the seven
symbols of those associations on the ad. On the right corner of the ad is the word Virus Doctor, and
the phrases Eliminate 99, 99% Viruses, Including H1N1 are highlighted. Finally, the company s slogan
printed in bold and placed in the most easy to see point is written: Make your home virus free. In this
printing ad, they include all of the strategies which can make us believe in their product such as the
doctor, certificate giving by seven associations, and the candidate who is the housewife. They target

Kat s Life
The back door slid shut behind her, just as silently as usual. Streaming in through large windows and
the spotless glass wall in the living room, sunlight warmed the house. The house was silent, the
lingering smell of fresh coffee beans and scrambled eggs. Walking across the smooth, pine, hardwood
floors and up the cream colored, just steamed carpets brought back memories, but Phillipa wouldn t
allow herself to reminisce now. Kat had called her here for a reason, though she d sounded
unbelievably distant due to her raging fever, and Phillipa had to fulfill her duty as a best friend; they

hangings was the old wall, painted, repainted, and still unfinished; a great unrestrained mish mash of
colors that represented Kat s mood. Phillipa was proud to see the many still odorous, bright streaks of
sunsets, and less oceanic, moody splotches. There had been so many of the depressed hues casting
unhealthy opalescent reflections onto Kat s pale, unhealthy skin last year. The rest of the room was a
multitudinous arrangement of various furniture; chairs, modern and antique, gifts from friends and

I do think Lucy Donavan violated the UHD Honesty Policy because she obtained and used
unauthorized material to prepare for her Intro to Politics midterm exam and was not honest in her

Lucy obtained the midterm exam from the photocopying machine. The definition of obtain in the
Merriam Webster Online Dictionary means to hold on to, or possess. In the case of Lucy she had
possession of the test when she picked it up from the photocopy machine. This fact shows that Lucy
did obtain the exam. The UHD Academic Honesty Section 2.2 labeled Academic Honesty Violations,

The Diary Of A Young Girl
Annelies Maie Frank was a writer and a diarist. She was one of the most discussed Jewish victims of
the Holocaust. Frank had an impact on the world by providing future generations with a direct
testimony from a seemingly ordinary girl who became one of millions to be pointlessly murdered
because of their ethnicity. In 1947 the diary and thoughts of an innocent thirteen year old female were
published; but the thoughts weren t so every day, they were the thoughts of Anne Frank. Frank s diary
the diary of a Young Girl, documents her experiences hiding during time Germany occupied the
Netherlands in WWII. Despite the circumstances for Jewish people in the Netherlands, Anne s interest
are quiet typical for a young adolescent girl. One of Frank s first diary entries starts off with her sating
that she hopes that she can reveal everything in it, because she feels she never had someone to confide
in. In writing her diary, Anne Frank was in a unique position to make the world understand what it was
like to live a life of hiding. Having to hide her existence in exchange for a slight chance for survival
during the Nazi regime.
For Anne s thirteenth birthday she received an autographed book from her father Otto, which she then
turned into her world famous diary. Although many of her early entries relate to the mundane aspects
of her life, Frank also discusses some of the changes that had taken place in the Netherlands since the
German occupation. Anne, like every other Jew, was living

The Destruction Of Jerusalem And The Temple
Point #2 The destruction of Jerusalem and the temple in A.D. 70 fulfills Christ s prophecy of perilous
times.
13:
With v. 15 we come to a critical juncture in the discourse. To this point Jesus has referred to general
signs that would characterize the period preceding Israel s collapse. Here in v. 15, though, he refers to
one sign that unmistakably signals that the prophesied destruction is at hand. It would serve to alert
the people of that generation as to the proximity of Jerusalem s ruin. In response to the question,
When will these things be? Jesus now answers When you see . . . (v. 15).
Abomination of Desolation is literally, the abomination that causes desolation. In the OT, abomination
= an object of disgust, hatred, something that causes revulsion; an idolatrous offense or affront to the
true worship of God.
The Abomination of Desolation is referred to 4x in Daniel 8:13; 9:27; 11:31; 12:11. The first and
immediate reference was to the Syrian king Antiochus who ruled over Palestine in 175 65 b.c. He
called himself Theos Epiphanes ( manifest God ) but his enemies called him Epimanes ( madman; the
insane one ).
In 168 b.c. Antiochus Epiphanes slaughtered 40,000 Jews and plundered the temple. He sacrificed a
pig on the altar of burnt offering, sprinkled broth from the unclean flesh all over the holy grounds as
an act of deliberate defilement. He then erected an image of Zeus above the altar. It was a sacrilege of
indescribable proportions indelibly imprinted

The Development Of Ancient Rome And The Roman Empire
The Roman Empire was a powerful one. Each culture contributed something, Ancient Rome included.
In the beginning of the eighth century, Rome grew from the town alongside the Tiber River to a
frankly large and famous empire. In that large empire the people of ancient Rome took their education
very seriously. This large empire which they called rome also had a lot of different religions mostly
centered around Gods. The Roman Empire is definitely a fascinating one.
One important factor that both started and kept together the roman empire was its great geography. It
started as a small village near the Tiber River, it had great soil, a water source, and a defensive barrier
out of hills. The Roman Empire was a sustainable place to live. It grew fast concerning the wealthy
abundance of food, water, and protection. Because of the geographic area, the Roman Empire was
powerful. The Roman Empire was the most comprehensive political and social structure in 117 C.E. in
the western civilization. Because the empire was growing so great, it had to be split in two.
The Tiber River is a historic river in Europe, famous for the city of Rome that is located on its banks.

Compare And Contrast The Views Of Hamilton Vs. Jefferson
In the late 1700 s till early 1800 s, Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson were the two of major
people in the government. Hamilton was the Secretary of Treasury and Jefferson was the Secretary of
State. Hamilton belonged to the Federalist party while Jefferson was a member of the Democratic
republican party. Hamilton wanted to enlarge the power of the government. However, Jefferson s view
was the opposite. Hamilton s view of the ideal economy, foreign affairs, and constitution played a role
on shaping the early Republic greater than Jefferson s.

The company can split up the project into a series of rollout phases, which will extend the project
timelines, but reduce the workload pressure being placed on the current engineering staff. This would
save the company money in the short term, but could potentially impact their competitive edge in the
long term if the competition develops a similar product first. The other option is to act on Director of
Marketing proposal to hire contractors in order to take on the increased workload. The company
would have a dedicated resource for the project while at the same time allowing the engineering staff
to continue to provide a high level of quality service to existing customers. The company would have
to make a short term budget sacrifice, exacerbating the current budget crisis; however the new product
would launch before the end of the year and give AcuScan the competitive edge it needs to increase
sales over the long term.
It is proposed that AcuScan align budgeting goals to accommodate the current project timelines and
making a small sacrifice in costs to aid in the development by hiring outside contractors.
In order to encourage collaboration between departments, the Director of Marketing must allow that
the contractors are selected and managed by the Senior Engineer, who will be the most knowledgeable
as to the minimal extra man power needed and the skill set required to accomplish the tasks.

increases dexterity, offers a wider range of motion, and allows improved access to obstructed organs.
The da Vinci Robot is a revised, upgraded and an enhanced machine from its predecessors and its
original design made by Leonardo da Vinci. A company in California was able to evolve the design of
the da Vinci robotic system. Four models were made by Intuitive Surgical, the standard original
model, model S, model Si, and the most recent one, model Xi. The da Vinci Surgical System is now a

The dVSS was FDA approved in the year 2000. The da Vinci has 2,250+ patents and additional 1,550
pending. The system is available in 6 continents, 64 countries, and 50 states (Intuitive Surgical 2017).
The surgical system is capable of operating in many different categories such as Cardiac, Colorectal,
Gynecologic, Head Neck, Thoracic, Urologic, and General surgeries. Unfortunately, the surgical
system does not complete the required tasks on its own, it s controlled by an onsite/offsite surgeon
whilst the patient is monitored by a surgical team onsite in case of data communication failure. The da
Vinci Surgical System (dVSS) functions as a telemanipulator, meaning any motion the surgeon
performs with their hand, the robot will replicate. The system works as a slave for and copies its
master s movement. In most cases, the dVSS is utilized at onsite surgeries; however, the dVSS is
capable of accomplishing full off site surgeries. For instance, a patient may be located at a hospital in
Houston, and the surgeon could be working at a hospital in Seattle. The dVSS s new model (XI)
consists of four main components, Surgeon Console, Patient Side Cart, Endowrist Instruments, and the
Vision System.

American Diet Needs To Change Essay
America, a nice place to just stop at a McDonalds, a Burger King or any other fast food place and
order a nice juicy burger, but did you even know what was just in that burger? Some think that
America eats plenty of good choices of foods while others think that we are out of control when it
comes to food. It s clear that overall the American diet is out of control and needs to change. The
reason why it needs to change is because processed foods are addictive and can cause people to
overeat, because the nutrition standards are not being met, and because the high obesity rate is
partially blamed by the fast food industry.
One reason that the American diet needs to change is that most of the processed foods that are served

USDA recommends 8.5 grams of added fat for every 1,000 calories. Americans eat more than 18.5
grams of added fat. Thats over 10,000 calories!
The last reason that the American diet needs to change is that America has the highest obesity rate in
the world. For example Dan Mangan of CNBC argues 67% of people believe they need to only lose a
median of 27 pounds of body weight . Americans need to eat a little less than they are right now.
When most people see a food that they are craving they often take one helping but most take 2, 3, or
even sometimes 4 helpings of that food. While some may argue that its too difficult to change when
the food is processed it is more true that the food industries produce more fresh fruit than processed
fruit. Some evidence from a USA TODAY writer Nanci Hellmich argues that fast food industries
produce mostly fresh fruit and are also making organic milk come with meals . Yes some may say that
they produce organic milk and fresh food but most of the fruit are not fresh but are

Socrates Views On Thrasymachus Definition Of Justice
Cephalus and his son Polemarchus defined justice in various ways. Cephalus defines justice as the
legal obligation to do what is right. According to him, a person will have done justice by honoring his
legal obligation even if by honoring those obligations will jeopardize the lives of others. However,
Socrates does not agree with this definition. He believes that, justice does not only involve doing just
to others.
Socrates argues that by doing a just deed that would affect others negatively does not add up to justice.
Polemarchus agrees with this definition but in his view, he defines justice as paying a man his dues in
the sense that the good to friends and enemy should get their share of evil. Therefore on this instance,
both Polemarchus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Polemarchus ends up defining justice as what is in the interest of the majority party.
Q2. Thrasymachus argues that justice is simply what is the interest of the stronger. What does he mean
by this statement? What arguments does Socrates present in order to refute Thrasymachus s position?
The statement by Thrasymachus implies that justice is the wishes of the strong persons in the society.
The weak, poor and destitute have cannot get justice unless what they believe to be justice is the
perceived interest of the strong, rich and affluent persons. However, this does not imply that what the
strong party perceives as his interest is exactly his real interest.
It is therefore possible that the strong might not be the beneficially of the perceived justice. It thus
means justice is not meant for people who behave just but what is in the preference of the strong such
that the strong party in any conflict will have his way. This definition delegitimizes justice and hence
it is not rewarding to be

The Characters Of Education In Atticus Finch And Bob Ewell
During the Great Depression in the 1930 s over twelve million people were unemployed causing
people to become poor and homeless. The Great Depression affected those who had education and
worsened the living conditions for those who were less educated. In the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird,
Harper Lee compares two completely different people, Atticus Finch and Bob Ewell to display how
education affected different social castes in society. In the 1930 s the Great Depression came along as
a tragic era making education forgotten as America faced other issues. At this time, Atticus, a white
man and a father of two kids strives to portray an example of how important education is in a time of
struggle. On the other hand the character Bob Ewell is, a white man, is poor and extremely ignorant to
the value education and believes it has no effect on society. Atticus and Bob are men of different
beliefs and values. [Through the characterization of Atticus Finch and Bob Ewell the readers can
believe compassion is reached through education, which a man with compassion and education for
their community can lead to humanity.] Atticus is a well educated man as he demonstrates outstanding
habits through his actions. After, Scout asks why Atticus is defending Tom Robinson he say, For a
number of reasons, the main one is, if I didn t I couldn t hold up my head in town, I couldn t represent
this county in the legislature, I couldn t even tell you or Jem not to do something again. [...] Scout,
simply by the nature of the work, every lawyer gets at least one case in his lifetime that affects him
personally. This one s mine, I guess (Lee 56). Atticus, a man of great knowledge proves how respected
he is in Maycomb County. He points out that only men with knowledge and education are able to take
on a big responsible such as the one he is given. The purpose of this quote is to signify the importance
of education and how it lead him to such a high position in society. Compared to Bob Ewell, Atticus
contains the sification of how to action in times of importance. This affects the way people view
Atticus because now he s accepted and known as The Lawyer for Tom Robinson. For example, after
scout tells Atticus she doesn t want

Waning Moon Research Paper
Waning Moon Spells A Spell To Bind Bullies You Need: 3 black candles black thread one black pen a
piece of paper an empty glass jar This spell will not hurt your bully, it will just make them leave you
alone. Do this spell at midnight on a Saturday of a waning moon (a period of time between a full
moon and a new moon, the light is decreasing. The opposite is the waxing moon, when the moon is
moving from a new moon to a full). Set the candles in a big triangle shape, big enough so that you can
sit in the middle. Light the candles. Write the bully s name on the paper, and draw an X over it. Fold it
three times. Say: I bind you (say their name) so that you cannot hurt me anymore, both physically, and
emotionally. Get out of my life, leave me alone. I bind you (say name) I bind you. Then tie the thread
around the folded paper, and pop it in the jar. Screw on the lid. Snuff out the candles (never, NEVER

Political Differences Between Football And Football
Politics doesn t belong in football is what I heard my Dad say as a Jeremy Corbyn banner was raised
in the kop. I watch football to get away from Politics is a comment I saw in /r/soccer and that got me
thinking, isn t football the worst place to come to get away from politics.
I want to start with my overall point. Politics and Football are intricately intertwined. Politics often
manifests itself through Football, whilst Football has also been used for political propaganda. One of
the ways this is achieved is through local and national identities becoming associated and represented
by Football clubs. This brings us to the first example of politics being intertwined with Football with
FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The club not only has become enriched with a political background, but in fact their biggest rivalry
and possibly the biggest rivalry in the world has its political roots. El Clasico is a rivalry defined by
distance, the distance between what the two clubs stand for and represent. With Madrid representing
Spanish nationalism and Barcelona representing Catalan nationalism.
During the Franco regime Catalans saw Madrid as a tool Franco would use to humiliate the city in
another domain. The example most cited in the book Barça was the 1943 Copa Del Rey. Barça held a
3 0 lead going into the second leg, with a few controversial decisions. The home fans who would boo
the officials would be labeled in the media as enemies of the Spanish stat . Rumoured in this book

Shattered Glass Essay
Shattered Glass by Billy Ray Have you ever wondered how it would feel to lose your career?
Shattered Glass is a true story of a young journalist who fell from grace when it was found he had
fabricated over half of his articles. He was a staff writer at The New Republic for three years who rose
to meteoric heights as a young writer in Washington, D.C. Looking for a short cut to fame, Glass
combined sources, quotes, and even entire stories. He did everything in his power to make sure that
everyone is pleased by him so that they do not figure him out. In the movie Shattered Glass, director
Billy Ray adroitly shows how Stephen Glass is willing to lie just to further his career as a journalist.

The movie also introduces his co workers and show how much they adore Stephen. Stephen writes a
paper on Spring Breakdown which he describes to the journalists classroom. Editor Michael Kelly
questions Glass about some of the facts in this story. In particular, the fact that the hotel had a mini bar
is questioned. Kelly requests Glass s notes so that it can be fact checked again. Glass then claims to
have consulted his notes and realized that he made a mistake in his story. He corrects himself stating
that the minibar was not part of the hotel room, it was a rental. He offers to resign but Kelly dismisses
the mistake as trivial and refuses Glass s resignation. Even so, Kelly makes a phone call to the hotel to
confirm that mini bar rentals are available. Glass gets away with another one of his fabrications.
Towards the end of the movie, Glass makes up a story completely. He thinks he can get away with
another one, but does not realize that an online magazine found some of his facts as interesting as not
being real. They found out that his sources are fake. All of his notes and descriptions of the people
neither the company are imaginations. Glass makes it so believable for the audience to think that the
story exists that he takes over the audience s imagination. Stephen Glass gets fact checked over and

The Destruction Of Food Production
The prehistoric ancestors of humanity spent most of their time in the pursuit of food. Civilization
sprung up as food harvesting and farming became more optimized and specialized. The procurement
of food declined as the greatest usage of human time. The efficiency of food production has allowed
humanity to thrive on the different industrial and technological revolutions, and create a better
standard of living for many people. Lizzie Widdicombe in the End of Food writes about Soylent, a
overall food substitute that aims to replace regular food. According to its creator, Soylent has a lower
cost, and is more efficient than regular food products and aims to progressive the advancement of food
efficiency started by our ancestors. This new product and the market category it represents has the
potential to eradicate hunger, and the time usage in producing and prepping food. Nevertheless,
Soylent and its counterparts can have potentially catastrophic consequences for humanity. The quest
for food, is one of the most important defining characteristics of life and nature. Food has thus shaped
much of human history. The ancient civilization of Mesopotamia for example was fueled by the first
agricultural revolution which introduced innovations in food production such as the domestication of
plants and animals. The sedentary living that most people enjoy today is a benefit of the greater
efficiencies created by the first agricultural revolution. While the first agricultural

Identification Of Unknown Inorganic Ions
Qualitative Analysis
Identification of Unknown Inorganic Ions
Introduction:
Qualitative analysis helps us to find out the certain amount of specie in a sample. During qualitative
analysis we do not know the type of specie present in the sample. We identify the type of specie in the
sample by precipitating out the specie. The spot test method is used to observe the results. Solubility
rules are used to find out the type of ions coming out of solution. The law of Conservation of Mass
will help us to determine the true quantity of substances in the reaction.
We know that when we dissolve an ionic compound in water the water molecules surround the ionic
compound. Surrounding of molecules causes the dissociation. For some compounds the separation ...

Edm On A Global Scale
EDM on a Global Scale
One of the benefits and reasons why people are so interested with EDM is that it is widely available
on the internet. YouTube channels, Facebook pages, websites, and every digital medium available is or
has been a location for popular EDM to be socially active with viewers. This allows songs to gain
prevalence in different areas of the world with out the geographic locations impeding their connection.
Each geographic location also has their own cultural signature to EDM, influences usually point to
past cultural movements or famous music that came out of the area. For example Avicii, a Swedish
electronic musician, DJ, and producer, created a song, Malo which contained Spanish lyrics and
created a large listener base that was in the country of Spain. EDM has the ability to be produced with
an audience in mind. This is mainly because artists have the means of customizing a sound or song for
a group of people just by recreating the ideas and music of movements within that geographical
location. By using similar sounds and rhythms, EDM artists are able to capture the true nature of a
country s signature. EDM is a global and social community that is unlike a music genre ever seen

Building A Sustainable Plan For A Business Model
Built to make profit, businesses/firms believed making money was their sole purpose and their
business model made everything subservient to money and corporate greed. Only now, have we begun
to see and understand how irresponsible we have become and those business models may make money
but they are killing the environment. Here we will look at four businesses and their different models
that center around sustainability, caring about mother earth, and still able to make money. The
framework we will evaluate these organizations is through the triple bottom line method, process
improvement, economic development, and giving back (altruism), as well as, build a sustainable plan
for a company that had not implemented one in the past and is failing to accept any environmental
responsibility. Beginning with the triple bottom line approach, we see this phenomenon discards the
notion of top line revenue/bottom line profit and loss, we see companies are responsible for three
bottom lines: people, planet and profit. Triple bottom line companies are responsibly sustainable; they
benefit the communities, facilitate the development of better products and services, and contribute to
society. The question now becomes why not every company is adjusting their business model to the
triple bottom line. Companies like Patagonia are onboard with this idea and they have been very
profitable and highly regarded on Wall Street. Companies like BASF and DuPont developed well
defined that

Revolutionary War Tactics
In every major military operation, terrain, troops and weapons often dictate the way the war is fought.
The American Revolutionary War was a prime example of this military strategy. It is often said that
the Patriots use of guerrilla warfare was the reason why the Americans were successful in defeating
the British. However, the Americans employed various tactics both on and off the battlefield that led
to the ultimate defeat of the British. The American Patriots won the Revolutionary War not through the
sole use of guerrilla warfare, but rather through an amalgamation of guerrilla warfare, linear battle
tactics, and the employment of espionage.

The small arms that the army did have were often defective and gunpowder was scarce. The standard
musket used by the militia was inefficient in terms of fighting on the larger scale battle fields. Not
only were the bullets completely inaccurate at 300 yards but they were also no longer lethal at that
distance. Additionally, the rifles the militia used were their own and not available to the Continental
Army as a whole. Therefore, the Continental Army began using the Brown Bess , the musket with
bayonet attachment that the British Army used. They became available as the Patriots would capture
British troops and were also shipped in from European manufacturers. Although it was highly
inaccurate and was very time consuming in terms of reloading, considering it was used in mass in the
linear formation of the ranks and file of the standing armies, it was highly effective in terms of the
volleying of the rounds. At fifty yards, the Brown Bess would have an eighteen inch variance.
However, in linear formations, this variance could be overcome and injury could still be imposed as
soldiers were closely filed together. The musket weighed approximately 13 pounds and released a
large amount of smoke after it was fired. Therefore, the linear tactics had to be employed to allow for
repeated volleys, firing rank by rank, and thus unleashing more damage at approximately nine rounds
per volley. Furthermore, the Brown Bess had the capability of attaching bayonets, which were also
necessary on the battlefield. The bayonet was inserted down the barrel of the musket, which was
imperative for close quarter hand to hand combat when time did not allow to reload the musket and
the enemy was too close. Linear tactics also allowed Washington s use of artillery, although it was
limited. Washington utilized light, mobile cannons and field artillery to push back the

Mother Daughter Conflict In Everyday Use By Alice Walker
In Alice Walker s short story, Everyday Use , the mother daughter conflict theme is portrayed in the
entire story. The oldest daughter Dee constantly believes that she is better than then everyone else in
the family. This has caused a family feud about who gets the quilt. The quilt was very cherished
because it was a family heirloom. Dee has always had a lot of power over her family and she soon
finds out that it is going to end soon. The biggest problem lies between Mama and Dee. This is clearly
illustrated by Dee s selfish behavior, high standards, and her her ignorance about her family s heritage.
Dee s superiority stems from the fact that she sets high standards for Mama, which in turn causes
Mama to feel inferior to Dee. Dee demands Mama to act a certain way, which is reminiscent of a
television show. On TV mother and child embrace and smile in each other s faces. Sometimes the
mother and father weep, the child wraps them in her arms and leans across the table and tell how she
would have made it without her help (paragraph 3). This description is the polar oppositeness of how
Dee acts towards her mother; Mama is well aware of the fact that her own daughter will never
embrace her like the people in the TV shows. Another major flaw of Dee s is that she acts ashamed of
both Mama and her family s background. Dee s impossibly high standards drive the ones who should
be closest to her, her family, away. She is constantly nagging and is persistent at finding things she
thinks need to be fixed, even going so far as being hypocritical about these various fixings. Mama says
she pins on my dress a large orchid, even though she has told me once that she thinks orchids are
tacky flowers (paragraph 4). Dee needs everything to be luxurious and elegant in her life. But even the
first glimpse of leg out of the car tells me it is Dee. Her feet were always near looking, as if God
himself had shaped them with a certain style (paragraph 19). As seen through this excerpt, Mama puts
Dee on a high pedestal and even relates her daughters foot to God. Dee s selfishness is also portrayed
through her verbal skills. She is often manipulating others through her speech and can talk her way
through just about anything. A

  • 2. Does Medea Deserve Sympathy Essay In Euripides Medea, there are moments when a specific character is deserving of sympathy, and instances when they don t deserve any sympathy at all. In the beginning, Medea deserves sympathy due to her husband leaving her for royalty and another woman. However, neither characters deserve sympathy when Medea s tells of her plans of killing her children, and Jason s want for Medea to become an exile. Towards the end, Jason deserves sympathy for trying to do what s best for his family and the death of his children, but Medea deserves no sympathy for the killing of Glauce, Creon and her children. In the beginning of the play, Medea is deserving of sympathy due to her husband s betrayal towards her. Characters, like the Nurse and Chorus feel the sorrow that Medea ... Medea s hurt and anger turns into rage when she plans to make corpses of three of [her] enemies, which shows her ambition of creating catastrophe around her to make Jason suffer the consequences. The plan of Medea wanting to kill Glauce and her children shows the audience that Medea is plotting for revenge and will do anything to make Jason suffer. Jason also doesn t deserve sympathy as his want for power and his strive for ambition is the main issue in this play. Jason left his wife to marry Glauce, the princess of Corinth, to make his life more powerful. Jason doesn t want Medea ruining his chances of staying in Corinth and one day becoming king. When he finds out Medea is making plans, he makes sure that Medea knows that Corinth cannot be a home for [Medea] anymore, which shows that Medea must become an exile again, in Jason s eyes, so that he can one day be king. Both Medea and Jason are in no need of sympathy from the audience, but once Medea commits the murders of Glauce and the children, Jason deserves sympathy from the audience while Medea deserves no ... • 3. Computer Literacy Is The Level Of Proficiency And Fluency 1. Explain computer literacy. Computer literacy is the level of proficiency and fluency someone possesses amid computers. Nevertheless, computer literacy commonly implies to the capability to manipulate applications rather than to program. Entities who are vastly computer literate are from time to time identified as power users (Computer Literacy , n.d.). Computers have affected each of our lives: the manner by how we work, the manner of how we learn, the manner in which we live, yet even the means we play. It virtually is unfeasible to progress complete a single day without coming upon a computer, an apparatus reliant on a computer, information created by a computer, or a word that was established or whose implication has transformed with the introduction of computers. However, because of the importance of computers in today s world, it is essential to be computer literate. 2. Explain computer algorithms and its significance. A computer algorithm is a method or formula for deciphering a problem, based on accomplishing a sequence of quantified actions. A computer program can be regarded as an intricate algorithm. In mathematics and computer science, an algorithm ordinarily entails a lesser technique that answers an intermittent question. Algorithms are commonly managed thru every area of information technology. A search engine algorithm, selects search strings of keywords and functions as input, explores its linked database for applicable web pages, and returns findings. An ... If you tell people where to go but not how to get there, you will be amazed at the results. Success requires you to put in work; it never comes to you. Freedom could be looked at as success. Freedom is never volunitary given by the oppressed. Martin Luther King Jr. The cost of freedom is always high but could be paid in various ways. Paul Laurence Dunbar and Emily Dickinson show different techniques of success throughout the poems. • 5. Dave Eggers Ted Lessons A life well lived is like an intricate frosted sugar cookie; a simple, yet easily mistaken recipe, but when done right results in layers and depth of flavor and wonderfulness. A life well lived means that you had an adventurous, fulfilling, and worthwhile time on earth, with family and friends that supported you and you have no regrets. A common regret most people have as they age is that they lost time, doing things they did not truly want to do. As a young person, I do not have much experience, but I do know that at this time I would much rather be traveling and enjoying time with family and friends over struggling in school and taking three tests a week. At the end of my life, I want to be able to say that I had fun and that I travelled ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the TED Talk by Dave Eggers, Eggers shares his story about opening a pirate themed tutoring organization for young students. He had a rough time in the beginning, but he never gave up, and eventually the tutoring organization at 826 Valencia became a well known and resource for young kids. Through Eggers individuality and innovation of this themed tutoring center, students have improved their writing and editing skills. Even though Eggers had a rough time in the beginning, he never gave up on his idea to help students find their passion in their school work. Similarly, Jobs gives meaningful advice about how his life was shaped and that how his dots fell into place, like going to college and finding his passion for calligraphy, and putting his passion to work on a new, innovative company. Jobs said it best when he explained the concept of connecting the dots, and that you must trust your gut when those dots begin to connect. Both Jobs and Eggers had a pretty rough time in their companies and they actually failed, but instead of dwelling on failure, they made something great out of it, and they have become even more successful. By not looking back on failure and letting it defeat them, they put it in the past and pushed forward. Another great point that Jobs added in his speech was to stay hungry; what he meant by this is that you must look for new things to do and try to go outside of your comfort zone this relates to Leon Stokesbury s poem, Unsent Message to My Brother in His Pain, in that Stoskebury s advice was to not give up and find a better purpose of life. Eggers, Jobs, and Stokesbury had similar ideas of not giving up just because life is getting hard fight through those hard times and come out on top. Pushing through the rough patches will only make you stronger, and in the long run, make you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Rhetorical Analysis Of Waiting For Superman As a parent, you want the best for your child in life. What would you do if their entire future was decided on one lottery that was out of your control? Waiting for Superman is a documentary that was made in 2010 and created controversy among educators and parents everywhere. He mentions a charter school called Kipp saying that, Kipp students will have doubled their math and science scores by the time they graduate. Using this rhetoric device persuades the audience to agree with the speaker s point because it states irrefutable facts that support his argument. The house was silent, the lingering smell of fresh coffee beans and scrambled eggs. Walking across the smooth, pine, hardwood floors and up the cream colored, just steamed carpets brought back memories, but Phillipa wouldn t allow herself to reminisce now. Kat had called her here for a reason, though she d sounded unbelievably distant due to her raging fever, and Phillipa had to fulfill her duty as a best friend; they take care of each other when they re at their best, and their worst. Phillipa was proud to see the many still odorous, bright streaks of sunsets, and less oceanic, moody splotches. There had been so many of the depressed hues casting unhealthy opalescent reflections onto Kat s pale, unhealthy skin last year. The rest of the room was a multitudinous arrangement of various furniture; chairs, modern and antique, gifts from friends and family, holding memories from years past and present, oak shelves full of creaking leather bound scientific journals from aspiring botanists who d given up on their hobby, torn books of copious varieties, ranging from journals people had kept and sold, wanting to forget their contents, to fairytale books with crayon pictures scribbled in margins that smelt like decades old wax, all worn from exposure to mildew, giving off the aroma of dewy basement. Others may argue the fact that Lucy did turn herself in which showed that she did have a little honesty in her however, she did cheat and did not tell anyone about it until after she had did it. • 13. The Diary Of A Young Girl Annelies Maie Frank was a writer and a diarist. She was one of the most discussed Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Frank had an impact on the world by providing future generations with a direct testimony from a seemingly ordinary girl who became one of millions to be pointlessly murdered because of their ethnicity. In 1947 the diary and thoughts of an innocent thirteen year old female were published; but the thoughts weren t so every day, they were the thoughts of Anne Frank. Frank s diary the diary of a Young Girl, documents her experiences hiding during time Germany occupied the Netherlands in WWII. Despite the circumstances for Jewish people in the Netherlands, Anne s interest are quiet typical for a young adolescent girl. One of Frank s first diary entries starts off with her sating that she hopes that she can reveal everything in it, because she feels she never had someone to confide in. The Destruction Of Jerusalem And The Temple Point #2 The destruction of Jerusalem and the temple in A.D. 70 fulfills Christ s prophecy of perilous times. 13: With v. 15 we come to a critical juncture in the discourse. To this point Jesus has referred to general signs that would characterize the period preceding Israel s collapse. Here in v. 15, though, he refers to one sign that unmistakably signals that the prophesied destruction is at hand. It would serve to alert the people of that generation as to the proximity of Jerusalem s ruin. In response to the question, When will these things be? Jesus now answers When you see . . . (v. 15). In the OT, abomination = an object of disgust, hatred, something that causes revulsion; an idolatrous offense or affront to the true worship of God. The Abomination of Desolation is referred to 4x in Daniel 8:13; 9:27; 11:31; 12:11. The first and immediate reference was to the Syrian king Antiochus who ruled over Palestine in 175 65 b.c. He called himself Theos Epiphanes ( manifest God ) but his enemies called him Epimanes ( madman; the insane one ). In 168 b.c. Antiochus Epiphanes slaughtered 40,000 Jews and plundered the temple. He sacrificed a pig on the altar of burnt offering, sprinkled broth from the unclean flesh all over the holy grounds as an act of deliberate defilement. On the other hand, my mom when she first graduated from Emporia State with a teaching career, she really struggled to find a teaching job, because no school districts were looking for teacher in fact they were letting teachers go. In comparing, to the early struggles Buck moved from place to place. In The Call of the Wild Buck transfers from owner to owner and really gets worn out and struggles to do all his work. Similar to Buck my mom moved from being a teacher to going back to college to get a degree in medical technology which she started to use time management, because she was doing a lot stuff and didn t want to get caught up in the moment. Above all, Buck and my mom both got through their struggle and got rewarded both with happier lives. John Thornton saved Buck from his owners that didn t have a clue what they were doing and helped him get healthy by letting Buck just rest which is a thing Buck didn t know that much about, due to the fact he was always on the move. My mom got through college graduating with a degree in medical technology and got a job right away. My mom started making money and soon bought her first car and house with my dad. At the end of the day Buck s and my mom s struggled weren t exactly the same but they both had to persevere, and both got rewarded after persevering through their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Revolutionary War Tactics In every major military operation, terrain, troops and weapons often dictate the way the war is fought. The American Revolutionary War was a prime example of this military strategy. It is often said that the Patriots use of guerrilla warfare was the reason why the Americans were successful in defeating the British. However, the Americans employed various tactics both on and off the battlefield that led to the ultimate defeat of the British. The American Patriots won the Revolutionary War not through the sole use of guerrilla warfare, but rather through an amalgamation of guerrilla warfare, linear battle tactics, and the employment of espionage. There is no doubt that guerrilla warfare played a significant part in the American victory over ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The small arms that the army did have were often defective and gunpowder was scarce. The standard musket used by the militia was inefficient in terms of fighting on the larger scale battle fields. Not only were the bullets completely inaccurate at 300 yards but they were also no longer lethal at that distance. Additionally, the rifles the militia used were their own and not available to the Continental Army as a whole. Therefore, the Continental Army began using the Brown Bess , the musket with bayonet attachment that the British Army used. They became available as the Patriots would capture British troops and were also shipped in from European manufacturers. Although it was highly inaccurate and was very time consuming in terms of reloading, considering it was used in mass in the linear formation of the ranks and file of the standing armies, it was highly effective in terms of the volleying of the rounds. At fifty yards, the Brown Bess would have an eighteen inch variance. However, in linear formations, this variance could be overcome and injury could still be imposed as soldiers were closely filed together. The musket weighed approximately 13 pounds and released a large amount of smoke after it was fired. Therefore, the linear tactics had to be employed to allow for repeated volleys, firing rank by rank, and thus unleashing more damage at approximately nine rounds per volley. Furthermore, the Brown Bess had the capability of attaching bayonets, which were also necessary on the battlefield. The bayonet was inserted down the barrel of the musket, which was imperative for close quarter hand to hand combat when time did not allow to reload the musket and the enemy was too close. Linear tactics also allowed Washington s use of artillery, although it was limited. Washington utilized light, mobile cannons and field artillery to push back the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Was Commodus Cruel Or Chaotic I believe that Commodus was a cruel and chaotic ruler of Rome because of all the things that he has done as emperor. Commodus was cruel and chaotic because he killed things for fun. Another reason is Commodus started the fall of the roman empire(an extensive group of states or countries under a single supreme authority, formerly especially an emperor or empress). One last reason that Commodus was cruel and chaotic is that he would fight as a gladiator in the Colosseum. Some people say that Commodus had a good education, making him a good leader but that s just wrong. Commodus was cruel because he killed things for fun. Some evidence to support this is that when Commodus practiced fighting as a gladiator he would slay his opponents. M R ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Mother Daughter Conflict In Everyday Use By Alice Walker In Alice Walker s short story, Everyday Use , the mother daughter conflict theme is portrayed in the entire story. The oldest daughter Dee constantly believes that she is better than then everyone else in the family. This has caused a family feud about who gets the quilt. The quilt was very cherished because it was a family heirloom. Dee has always had a lot of power over her family and she soon finds out that it is going to end soon. The biggest problem lies between Mama and Dee. This is clearly illustrated by Dee s selfish behavior, high standards, and her her ignorance about her family s heritage. Dee s superiority stems from the fact that she sets high standards for Mama, which in turn causes Mama to feel inferior to Dee. Dee demands Mama to act a certain way, which is reminiscent of a television show. On TV mother and child embrace and smile in each other s faces. Sometimes the mother and father weep, the child wraps them in her arms and leans across the table and tell how she would have made it without her help (paragraph 3). This description is the polar oppositeness of how Dee acts towards her mother; Mama is well aware of the fact that her own daughter will never embrace her like the people in the TV shows. Another major flaw of Dee s is that she acts ashamed of both Mama and her family s background. Dee s impossibly high standards drive the ones who should be closest to her, her family, away. She is constantly nagging and is persistent at finding things she thinks need to be fixed, even going so far as being hypocritical about these various fixings. Mama says she pins on my dress a large orchid, even though she has told me once that she thinks orchids are tacky flowers (paragraph 4). Dee needs everything to be luxurious and elegant in her life. But even the first glimpse of leg out of the car tells me it is Dee. Her feet were always near looking, as if God himself had shaped them with a certain style (paragraph 19). As seen through this excerpt, Mama puts Dee on a high pedestal and even relates her daughters foot to God. Dee s selfishness is also portrayed through her verbal skills. She is often manipulating others through her speech and can talk her way through just about anything. A ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
