basics).
 Detail what steps you have taken in your career search (i.e. which companies have you
applied and/or seen your resume by a referral or external recruiter).
 Continually update your recruiter about changes in their search status
o If working with more than one recruiter, the candidate should tell every recruiter if they
have an interview(s) and if a job offer follows; this potentially gives us leverage to nudge
the client in your favor.
o We work with talented candidates; we fully expect you to have options/multiple offers!
 Come to us with clear and concise search criteria as well as their motivations for making a
career change (4 C’s – Career Path, Company/Culture, Commute, Compensation).
 Your resume is an accurate portrayal of their previous education, work experience, technical
abilities, and certifications; any gaps in your work history must be explained clearly and
succinctly. Also, please ensure your LinkedIn profile and resume are 100% in synch.
 Call your recruiter immediately following an interview to debrief and discuss the prospects of
the position (max of 2 hours from interview conclusion); schedule in advance when
possible. This is a critical piece of our process.
 Confirm you are ready to make a career change; please examine how vested you are with
your current work associates and management team; be prepared for a counter offer (very
common currently).
 Please be forthcoming about any information that could inhibit the placement process
o Information includes credit, criminal and DMV records, or any other information that
might be exposed through a background check
o Any life commitments should be disclosed up front (i.e. extended and/or overseas
travel, weddings, pre-planned long weekends)
