• A Panoramic shot is a wide shot that shows a
location.
A Mid shot shows
a conversation it is
useful for slowing
the characters
body language and
costume.
A close up shot shows facial expression, the mood
the person is in or/and it’s a dialogue shot.
An extreme close up shows detail, an object or
even the facial expression.
An establishing shot is a first shot in a
sequence to show where it is set.
A 2 shot is just a shot of two people, they could
be having a conversation. It shows the
relationship between them.
POV stands for point of
view shot this shows a
scene from the point of
view of one of the
characters to give
greater involvement in
the story.
OTS stands for over the shoulder shot, this shows
where the character is looking.
An extreme
high angle shot,
this shot looks
down at a
person making
them small and
vulnerable.
A low angle shot can
also be called the
worms eye view this
shot looks up at a
character which makes
them strong and
powerful.
A canted angle shot makes the image odd and
strange.
